Reviews of Na Oh
We’ve tried Na Oh’s summer menu twice, and I would’ve gone for a third if only we had managed to get a reservation 😅
Na Oh - it’s a place where you can spend 2 relaxing hours, in a well-thought, refined space. Everything, from their dishes to their serveware, to their decor, to their service, was definitely considered. In my opinion, Na Oh pays tribute to the traditional culture of Korea, and this is visible as soon as you step foot into their space - the moon jars, hanji paper as part of their lighting, traditionally-made cast iron pots, and their screens are made of oksa (korean silk). The place is spacious and comfortable to be in.
The food - I loved their white fish and sea cucumber appetiser, jeon, samgyetang, and makgeolli bingsu. Literally, it felt like we could taste the sea in the icy kimchi broth that accompanied the white fish and sea cucumber, and the flavours and textures that came along with each bite just felt so intentional. The Samgyetang is the best I have tried to date - the texture of the chicken is unbeatable and the sides and condiments complimented the chicken and rice really well. I’d say Na Oh’s flavours taste clean, their food is not overly salted. As a person who loves dessert, I was happy that the shaved ice in the bingsu was fine 😌! No surprise, after learning that the machinery for it was brought in from Korea.
My husband had the Pyongyang-style cold noodles with raw beef, in a Dongchimi broth, and loved every aspect of it. We chose to have the same dishes when we visited a second time. 🤣 I was also delighted with the marinated quail eggs that came with the dish - they were mini lava eggs!
Their service - its excellent too. Staff take the time to explain each dish to us and seem to have a sense of pride for their work at Na Oh.
We had a pleasant time at Na Oh and want to keep on coming back.
This is a gem hidden within the Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Center Singapore (HMGICS). They serve authentic Korean set meals which changes regularly. Some of the greens are also harvested from their high tech indoor eco farms located within the same building to ensure freshness.
Service is top-notch with very attentive staff who explain every dish that they serve. The restaurant is spacious and comfortable with very classy and majestic feel. Pricing is reasonable for a very good dinner.
Spacious, minimalist sleek restaurant . Service was attentive and painstaking. Food was tasty but it was in most instances a high end version of familiar Korean dishes but done well . Overall a very pleasant experience and at a modest price for a restaurant helmed by a 3 star Michelin chef. Do note that it serves only a fixed menu - summer offerings now - but there is a choice from 3 main courses
First of all I want to say thank you for the super staff, they are very helpful and attentive, got a reservation for 4 pax and my flight rescheduled more than 4 hours but they tried to squeeze us so we could get the 3 michelin star chef restaurant experience.
They got 3 options for the main dishes and this is their summer menus.
We choose different kinds so we could try it all.
The interior got a minimalist design with some korean modern style ornaments and materials.
Love the food, vibes and service. Will be back on September for another food adventure.
Na Oh is rather far away from the usual eating spots. When you enter the Hyundai lobby, you are greeted by long elegant escalators, green high tech hydrophonic farms and high tech robots.
Na Oh is up on the next level. When I went they were doing a fixed menu for $78. You get two appetizers, one seasonal appetizer and a choice is main course. And dessert.
I loved their buckwheat and mugunji jean. This wonderful chewy pancake that was so lovely and crisp on the edges.
My seasonal appetizer was the Mulhwe. White fish and sea cucumber in icy kimchi broth. The broth was so interesting, refreshing and savory.
For mains i had the butterfish Gamasot - perfect rice, perfect fish perfect skin. So so good. All the banchan they served with it was also great.
It's a bit of a trek to get there but really good food.
Fine dining value for money. Love the simplicity. Location is very out of the way, best to drive.
Booked a hyundai experience tour and wanted to visit the Na oh resturant housed in the hyundai innovation centre but we cannot get reservations initially.
After the tour, we decided to drop by the resturant and thankfully, we managed to walk in. The service staff were friendly and professional. They could named the dishes and explained the ingredients.
I choosed the butterfish gamasot as the main while my friend choosed the pyongyang cold noodle in dongchimi broth.
I am quite satisfied with the butterfish served on hotstone pot rice the rice has a subtle seaweed taste and the fish is grilled to perfection and taste fresh. Thankfully the fish is boneless which makes the exp better. There r no added seasoning for the fish and rice. So for those who like stronger tasting food, may not like the fish itself. But then again, because the banchan has stronger seasoning, when eaten together, the flavours blend harmiously in your mouth. Therefore, giving u different flavours when eaten together with different banchan/sauce.
As for the cold noodles, i personally felt it is nice but my friend thought the dongchimi broth is too overpowering for her, making the cold noodle smells like rotten radish and she absolutely hated the radish smell. Therefore, be warn, for those who don't like radish, do not order this as the main dish. For me, the taste and the texture of the noodle served in the cold broth makes it a perfect dish for summer. With the added vinegar and mustard, it gives an added layer of flavouring. But i would suggest u taste the broth first, so u can taste the beef taste in the broth, (I personally think the base is more beefy than radish), before adding the vinegar and mustard.
Oh yar, i forget to mention the dessert. The magkeolli shave ice is soft and refreshing with the mild taste of fermented rice, served together with the sweetened strawberries, it is a perfect match. However, i do think the toasted rice honey stick served on the side is abit too hard for my liking.
Overall, for the price point of $78++, i think it is worth the money. Be sure to make ur reservations earlier, esp if u intend to go for the hyundai exp tgt with eating at na oh.
Being an Easterner, it is a bit of travel to this part of Singapore. But I must say it is worth the trip to eat at Na Oh. It feels like dining in the Michelin Star restaurant for their impeccable service, tranquil environment, and exquisite dishes, at a very reasonable price per pax.
Na Oh never fails to impress me everytime, from the food, right down to thr customer service. I'd highly recommend the Seolleongtang for this season. Definitely will be back.
honestly this is one of the Korean restaurant worth a visit! The quality of the food and service tops the experience~
Ambience brings a comfort and spacious dining, making this trip to the west a definite worthy:)
Flawless dining experience, not simply the high quality produce and cooking, but also the warm service, tableware, ambience and decor. A rarity in Singapore and reasonably priced.
Only complements, no complaints here. From entering the building everything was much wow. The vibe of the restaurant is very minimal and modern. Food was good, not too out of this world special but definitely worth the price. Looking forward to other new seasonal menus.
traditional Korean food done slightly “upscale”. The food was okay, it’s done well. But nothing amazing. For the price point ($100 per person without alcohol) and how far the restaurant is, it’s not worth it. They give two small appetiser and dessert, but it’s really small portion. you are effectively paying $100 for the main course. Which is in no way shape and form worth that price. It was nice to check it out to support an authentic Korean restaurant, but I would not go back. There are numerous options for authentic Korean food more centrally located at better prices and better food.
Loved the experience, loved the foods and loved the service.
I had an absolutely fantastic dining experience at this restaurant! The food was incredibly delicious and the overall quality was oustanding.
Each dish was prepared with such care and attention to detail, making the meal truly unforgettable.
One of the very few times over a long list of restaurants, every aspect from warmth of the service, experience, food and ambience we think is right on point. Perfect.
Beautiful place, impeccable service, bussin food
We visited here with our family before leaving Singapore.
The fall menu was nearing its end and was soon scheduled to change to the winter menu.
When I served aged pancakes with salad grown here, I was impressed by the spicy taste and crispy texture of the pancakes.
We ordered one of three fall menu items and the food was all great.
It was a little cold inside the restaurant, so I was glad I brought long sleeves.
The sweet potato sikhye that came out for dessert had a better sweet potato flavor, and the walnut dried persimmon pie was sweet and chewy.
The staff were very neat and explained all menu items well.
And thank you for taking beautiful pictures of our family.
Give it a try
Very good!!
It was a fresh, neat, and delicious meal. The atmosphere was good and it was a pleasant time.
