Reviews of OCEAN Restaurant
The dining experience is amazing with all the fishes swimming. The food is innovative but it failed to blow my mind. It was above average. It will be an awesome place for couples. The restaurant was generous in providing complimentary desserts knowing that it’s for a birthday celebration.
We had dinner yesterday night in Ocean restaurant and didn't reach our expectations to be a 2 star michelin restaurant. First of all, to enter the restaurant you need to pass by a parking space so far and ugly.
The aquarium is very nice( the best part of the experience).
The service is very good (Marcus was very attentive). The food we enjoy 3 ( crab, scallops, wagyu) out 8 course and the rest was nothing special.
The wine selection it quiet good.
Main draw of this place is indeed the view and the experience. You could keep your kids entertained throughout the meal actually. A great upside.
Staff and service crew were all great.
The food was a mix between Asian Mediterranean styles. Liked the Tom yum soup. The beef and other mains were alright and I didn’t remember getting blown away by any particular dish. Nonetheless, you can try the place out just for the experience.
My husband and I enjoyed the 6-course set dinner curated by Chef Olivier Bellin, a two-star Michelin chef from Brittany.
The team provided great service and that the crew contributed to making our visit a memorable one.
Thank you so much!
Could consider pair a lighter wine for main course fish. The coconut jelly is a secret item for dinner which comes surprisingly good. The wonderful view is worth the price already.😉
A unique and unforgettable dining experience. Service and ambiance was excellent. We were fortunate to be seated right next to the glass, giving us a great view of the sea creatures. The novelty of it did not wear off all night. The food was also great, with the highlight being the perfectly cooked wagyu. The strip of fat had been rendered through the charcoal cooking, providing a crunch to the otherwise juicy and tender meal. It is a shame that the best dish was the land-based animal, as the other seafood dishes didn’t quite meet the level of the wagyu. The dishes opted to use caviar as a means of adding umami flavour, but it felt like it was ‘using caviar for caviar’s sake’. The depth of flavour was great but not excellent, and sometimes the caviar left a lingering taste in the mouth. Would I go again to experience dining next to manta rays? Yes. Would I go again for the food? No.
Very unique dining experience, able to see stingray inside the restaurant.😍😍😍 forgot to post review and photos that time so now put. The price is expensive but the food quality, ambience and presentation of food is really good. 😂😂😂
It was an amazing experience. A bit costly and might hit your wallet but once in a lifetime experience and that’s what you pay for. Food was great and drink was exquisite.
Servers and manger were friendly too.
It might get confusing to reach the place if you are in Singapore for the first time so please see the details sent to you after reservation and ask if you need help.
Went there for my bday dinner gifted by my BF and it was definitely romantic and worth it.
Nice experience to dine with the ocean creatures!
Excellent ambience, wine and attentive service. Lunch was more reasonable then dinner. We had four course lunch and some drinks. Two people around sgd 250.
But the food quality was not match with the price tag. The bread was good tho. There were sourdough and soft beard to go with the butter. Butter was good!
The cold and hot appetites was not bad too. I like the soup, forgot what is the name exactly. But the taste of the seafood soup was not rich and dense.
The main course, I have chosen striploin, but it was cut too thin, like 5 mm. I was like, is it a joke? I would prefer you to have a thick cut but lesser pieces. It was just a waste of the steak was cut so thin. I was not having shabu shabu or yakiniku.
Probably once experience is good enough as the food is nothing extraordinary.
I come here for the therapeutic view of the fishes. The food has gotten better also. I enjoyed the lobster and the dessert tart especially. Clever mixture of sweet and tart flavours. The service staff is attentive.
The food tasted alright, fancy but not as tasty as it looked. Don’t miss the Foie Gras and Pork Belly, these were one of the nicer dishes.
The ambience is great for celebration, proposal, gatherings! Lots of kids though, so if you want some quiet moments, would be good to check with the staff for timings with lesser children.
The service staff were rather attentive. They gave a complimentary “cake” as we were celebrating hubby’s birthday.
The Ocean Restaurant was a wonderful experience that combined elegance and tranquility with the food offering and live view of the aquarium. The service was respectful and friendly, with professional and in-depth explanations of the food and wine presented. When I visit Singapore, I will always make a reservation and indulge myself in the dining experience that is the Ocean Restaurant, and I highly recommend others to enjoy the venue as well.
This is a place for unique dining experience, however food was not fantastic. We tried the 3 course and 4 course set lunch: appetizers were really bad especially the risotto, main course were ok but took almost an hour, and the Tropicana dessert was just canned pineapple 🤦♀️. Staffs were nice and provide good service, thank you for giving us a birthday surprise. Would still recommend this place for special occasion.
Pricey yet unique experience (for the view). The food was quite little and I felt that taste was average. Waited more than 10 mins to order our food. But I was quite please for a last minute order for a birthday cake which I forgot. For 2 person, paid about 400 Singapore dollars. I don't feel that it's value for money.
Attentive service with excellent company - fishes. Big fishes. Love the place. Set lunch is value for money. Food tastes great. A bit difficult to locate the restaurant though as we parked at Casino side and thought could easily walk over.
A once in a lifetime experience that you can’t forget. Food and service is world class. If you visit Singapore and it’s within your budget, this is not something to miss out on.
My partner and I had the pleasure to be served by Ivo and Restaurant Manager Bob. Ivo’s exceptional attentiveness and Bob’s eloquent command of the history of the fishes and the history of Chef Olivia Belim elevated our experience to the fullest.
Celebrated my wife’s birthday here, first time coming to this restaurant and the experience was worth it. Food does not match our palate hence the lower rating but seafood fine dining lovers will definitely like it here.
Great atmosphere! The dishes are exquisitely presented and delicious. I especially love the wagyu beef. The staff are attentive and friendly.
Nice ambience and so wonderful to see the marine creatures glide past you while enjoying a relaxing high tea. However quality of food is a bit disappointing and feels a bit pre-mass produced.
Nice venue but timing too rushed. Main course, beef is too tough. Felt very rushed to finish and leave the premise. The waiter service was good though.
Great place for those that are looking for something different from the usual dining, especially more so for underwater fish lovers! Food wise not really suited for our taste buds but still good. Food are all in small servings. Tables beside water tank have a min order of $300 while other tables have min order of $200, the place is rather small so do make a reservation to prevent disappointment!
Awesome scenery with great food 👍🏻👍🏻😍 being prepared very well... fresh prawns, juicy pork belly and tenderloin, flavorful desserts..🤤😍
A must try especially the one with children or having special occasion, it will be an unforgettable moment.
All staff also very friendly and helpful!
I had an amazing time here for my partners birthday. Staff was incredibly patient, kind and dedicated. Everything from the portion sizes, the front row seats and the complimentary glass of prosecco and the birthday cake were incredible.
My partner and i had a wonderful time here. Definitely glad to have finally been here!
I did have my reservations when I read previous reviews when portions are small, but we went for dinner and were stuffed. Portions were huge. Perhaps the restaurant had taken feedback into consideration which is a good thing. I can't fault them one bit! Thank you guys for the amazing evening!
Truly enjoyed the experience! Aquarium is majestic and the ambience is great! Staff is very friendly and helpful too. Will definitely go back for another occasion :)
Great aquarium and atmosphere but gotta say the food really sucks big time here. Such a pity cus I love dining in that aquarium. Great service tho. Sanjay is a great host to our table. And very knowledgeable about this wines and the fishes
Love the service and dining experience with majestic fishes. The ambience was calming my pre-teens kids love it.
Getting inside on the entry gate only allows for those who wants to park they need to give grace period for those taking taxis.
Food wise I’m not 100% fully satisfied perhaps my standard taste is different after trying better restaurants serving the same kind of fine dining. Like not much surprise IMO.
Superb setting.
Very good attentive service
Good quality original food
Enjoyed the time there.
My rating means:
***** : My favourite listing. Best place in its category
****: Great experience. Will come again
***: Ok place. Good enough if you need it
**: Rather disappointing. May not repeat the experience
*: Bad. Should not be in business.
Great Aquarium view, goods service still. Food quality down a bit from pre-covid, but still good. No more a-lacart menu, just 6 course set. Only issue is the two seating time of 6pm vs 8:30pm. For 6 course set, 6 pm is a rush towards the end.
A great experience with the different sea fishes swimming while you are enjoying your meal. Love the wine pairing and great for couples 💑
Ocean Restaurant is very nice, can enjoy your lunch and dinner with a great window views. Recommend to call the restaurant to reserve window view table in 2 weeks before.
My partner said talking about getting here is pointless because it should be about the food and location.
So here goes.
First off, service was amazing! 5/5. Marcus and the maître’d were super knowledgeable about the history of the restaurant, the area around Sentosa, and each food item served.
Food, 5/5. Omg the taste was out of this world (or ocean haha). The food was really fresh, the prawns were juicy, the fish was not over cooked, the beef was medium rare to perfection, and the deserts were a sweet ender. Pricey for sure, but a good once in a lifetime affair.
Ambience, 5/5. The fishes are really trained very well to entertain. They danced, sang, and even had a murder mystery plot going on with this one diner. They kept facing him, intent to eat. But I kid. The lighting, feel, and decor is really nice. Everything here is sustainably sourced, from the tables to the chairs to the ceiling, all made from floating wood found from Kalimantan, or recycled and up cycled materials. Very impressive!
Overall, quite an enjoyable experience, mainly for the interaction and service.
The place is a bit hard to find if you're walking from RWS. The food is good (not great), we really liked the wine recommendation made by Sanjay. The highlight of the place is the view, we got a "window" seat and it couldn't have been better. Great place to celebrate special occasions. Due to Covid, expect the establishment to be understaffed.
Food was exceptional! As well as the ambience.. but would recommend serving the utensils on a serviette instead on the bare table for hygiene purpose..
Service from manager can be better too
What a wonderful experience! Had an amazing dinner with an awesome view of Singapore aquarium. Loved it
Great food (6 dishes) and nice eating experience. Nice staff in general (not all). A bit expensive though (200$ for one person). Be on time as at 10pm you need to leave (they close all the lights). Ps: It is a very hard place to find! If you come by the monorail of sentosa, go to michael hotel and ask for a ride to the ocean restaurant👍🏻recommend that place for once in your life.
It was grand! Spacious room with balcony. The swimming pool could have been cozier, did not have controlled temperature. Breakfast was good .
Had dinner to celebrate our son’s birthday. The food was really good and the service staff were great, in particular, Marcus who attended to our table. Highly recommended venue for special occasions.
Had a high teas there. Got a table next to the aquarium. Awesome! Good is ok for the price.
Went for anniversary lunch. Good service and good food . Go for the set lunch is worth it .
Dinner place with an aquarium view . Not cheap dinner sets but for a unique dining experience , it's worth a try.
Wish to compliment and thank Ms Rona for her most impeccable, outstanding and professional service. She was most hospitable, helpful and kind. It was a real pleasure being here. Keep shining brightly and beautifully!
Good food, great ambiance and friendly service. Recommended for special occasions.
We had an amazing dinner experience in this restaurant. Everything was handled very professional and the food was extraordinary. Especially the dessert was delicious. The only point to be aware of is that it is extremely cold inside so it’s better to bring a jacket.
My wife and I had our wedding solemnization and then had our dinner at Ocean Restaurant. I have to say it was one of the best gastronomical experiences we've had to date. The food surpassed our expectations. We would in particular like to thank Farouk and Darren for their excellent service which contributed greatly to our overall experience. We are grateful to Ocean Restaurant and their service staff for making our wedding day an even more memorable one.
My parents and I had such an amazing night in Ocean Restaurant for my birthday. Patricia and Winnie make sure i have the best table for my birthday. Jasmine and Sanjay took good care of us during our dining. It was fantastic. The food was superb. Compliment to Ocean restaurant team.
yes it is super expensive, but it is also unique experience!
The staff is polite, the food was great!
Appalling and rude service from staff Patricia. Did not honour the email confirmation on seating arrangement received from the restaurant prior to reservation day, for our wedding anniversary. Lack of apology and condescending attitude for the mistake made on their end.
Edit: Have removed initial review as this has been sorted out with the restaurant. Thanks to Bob and Sanjay for great service recovery. Glad we gave this place a second chance.
First meal in Singapore: How about lunch in a huge aquarium 🐟
Nice ambience and great for couple or family dining
Sanjay takes the best photo in ocean restaurant. Please look for him
Nice food nice ambiance…
There's a bit of irony in eating seafood while the sea sees you eating seafood.
Book way in advance if you want to be seated at the panel tables. Food was mediocre, ambience was superb.
❤👍🏻
Dining at Ocean Restaurant was truly a blissful moment. The dishes brought to you are beautifully presented like works of art, and each dish is overflowing with delicate flavors. The menu features fresh seafood, crafted by talented chefs, and will surprise and impress with every bite. As I enjoyed the meal, I found myself deeply immersed in the moment and truly savoring the beauty of the food.
The seasoning of the seafood dishes fully reflects the original flavor of the ingredients (such as the name of the restaurant). In addition, the steak dishes are very delicious, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.
The food is delicious and the atmosphere is good. The small drawback is that it is very difficult to find. There is a parking lot next to the entrance. I thought I was in the wrong place. In addition, transportation is not very convenient.
You can create meaningful memories through fine dining. You can choose from 6 or 8 courses, and there are a variety of drinks and wines to pair with. It was great to eat while watching the stingrays and fish swimming in the beautiful aquarium, and I was also impressed by the delicacy and tact of the service staff. Since it was difficult to get a taxi or a taxi, I was helped by taking a buggy to the casino entrance.
This place is a bit hard to find, if you don't have a car you have to walk through the entire parking lot.
The food was good and the service was great! Since it was during the festival, the dinner set menu was $160 and we enjoyed the recommended wine. The highlight of this place is the view, we didn't get a "window" seat but due to Covid the seating arrangement was not crowded and the place was quiet. Celebrating our 13th wedding anniversary here, it couldn't have been better.
**The waiting area is close to the parking lot, I hope you can pay more attention! There are many mosquitoes and they are very poisonous. My body constitution makes it easy to be bitten by mosquitoes. A week later I still feel itchy and the swelling doesn’t subside :(
A wide variety of fish are swimming around, and even giant rays and manta rays are approaching. The children are very excited. It's a little expensive considering the location and Singaporean fees and the food, but once you consider that you've paid the aquarium admission fee, it's a place that will make for wonderful memories. There are some unusual dishes, so I think it's worth going at least once (even though I'm new to Singapore).
A very elegant and beautiful restaurant 😍 I loved the clean, cozy atmosphere 💃🏻 Of course, their system is a set menu. The food comes gradually, soup, salad, the main meal, and lastly, dessert and drink.
The environment is romantic and beautiful, fish swim around, but there are relatively few types of fish. The food tastes good and the white wine is good. You can come when you have time, but remember to make a reservation in advance.
