Reviews of Plank Sourdough Pizza - Eng Kong Park
we got the trio of dips which was not too great, honestly the crostinis tasted a bit stale and the dips were not impressive. however the mushroom fettuccine was flavourful and the ingredients used are of high quality. was excited to taste the pizza but ultimately it was not that great. the toppings were fine but overall the texture of the pizza was mediocre. burrata was also lacking in texture and not worth it for the price! the iced vanilla latte was really good! staff was kind too. would give it 3.5 stars if i could!
Nicely tucked away in the Eng Kong enclave, this pizza joint is part of Baker and Cook and focuses on Sourdough Pizza. Quite a good range of pizzas to choose from, both meat and vegetarian options available. Plank also serves sides and pastas. Prices are fair for the quality and the only item that wasn’t quite worth the money was the Caprese salad. Other than that, service was friendly and the range of Baker and Cook items are also available to purchase.
Located in a quiet and cozy corner of Eng Kong Terrace, this spot is great for relaxing and hang out. The pizza toppings were plentiful, however, the pizzas lacked the wow factor, and the ingredients could have been more seasoned and flavourful.
We decided to do an order in for Friday evening after a long time.
I decided to try this place after it popped up as a suggestion on my Instagram handle. There were very few vegetarian options. And we went with
1) Mushroom Fettucine
2) Vegetarian pasta (mushroom based)
3) Garlic bread
4) Lemonade
The mushrooms were pretty strong in flavour. I am not a huge fan of mushrooms but my husband liked it and found this recommendable.
The total cost turned out about 50S$.
Not the best pizza in Singapore but the place is nice and quiet. Personnel is friendly but not always focused, bringing on numerous occasions wrong orders. It can be attributed to the fact that they're inexperienced but that never stopped us from coming (most of them below 20). Nothing to see or shop aroun. That's pretty much how the whole neighborhood is layed out. The bakery next door has always been a decent source for deserts.
Plank + Baker&Cook colocated so you can order from a single counter, giving a good variety of options of well thought out and preapred food.
Try the banofee pizza for something different
Had Parma Ham and Rockets. Texture of pizza dough was perfect, thin, soft, fluffy, chewy and crispy. Generous toppings.
Walloped the pizzas in no time.
Great place to hang out for families
This is the second time I ordered pizza from Plank. The first time was a disaster with the parma ham gone off taste. This time round, I ordered a salami pizza. It is only slightly better... The dough is still very chewy (perhaps because it's sourdough) and the ingredients lacking and not much aroma compared to pizzas I ordered from other places. Disappointed again.
Visited on 13/11/2019 after church for lunch. Ordered a pizza with smoked salmon, pizza came and we gobbled it all up before a complimentary pizza came with the waitress telling us that we were actually served the wrong pizza.
The boss even gave us a card with another complimentary pizza for the next visit. Totally love the honesty and business etiquette. Will highly recommend my church mates to come, food’s great too!
I was skeptical as this place is inside (what I generally consider) a bread/ coffee shop. The pizza was great - excellent base, flavorful sauce, and generous toppings. The cheese could have been better though.
Service was friendly and prompt. Will go back to try other items on the menu.
We called ahead at 1pm for pickup at 6pm as they only open at 6pm. The lady who took our order called back 5 mins later to inform us that earliest pick up is at 630pm (time for them to make the pizza once they start at 6pm). We got there at 620pm and found that they havent start making the pizzas yet! Their excuse was that they needed payment first!! Thats totally fair. However the lady who took our order could have told us that when we called!! We could have offered payment first if they can accept it or give a cc number to secure the order. Or even arrive at their shop at 6pm to make payment. No thanks to this, our guests have to be hungry and wait for us to get home to open the doors for them.
The pizzas aren't too bad but the whole incident left a bad taste in the mouth and spoilt the whole experience.
Nice chill environment, great pizzas!
Good sourdough.
Even better service.
To the management: You have a very friendly, a very awesome crew. I'm gonna have to return for a loaf of that sourdough bread.
Great sour dough pizza. Can here twice in a row because I love their pizza texture so much!
Great pizza dough/crust. Great garlic bread also
Nice cosy place for coffee or meals.
