Reviews of Restaurant Fiz
**Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐**
Fiz offers an exceptional fine dining experience focused on the rich flavors of Malay cuisine. The ambiance is elegant, and the service is top-notch, making you feel welcome from the moment you step in.
The dishes are beautifully presented, and the flavors are authentic yet elevated with a modern touch. The staff is knowledgeable and attentive, enhancing the overall experience.
If you love Southeast Asian cuisine, Fiz is a must-visit for its superb take on Malay flavors.
Visited Restaurant Fiz for the debut of FORGED:quail parfait. It was an amazing emotion and thought provoking experience in the modern and elegant restaurant.
As a tastemaker, I thought about when was the last time I was impressed with a creative interpretation of a classic, and in one bite.

The FORGED:KAYA TOAST : sandwiching the quail parfait that bore a rich umami flavour with a weightless, fluffy, cloud-like, melt-in-your-mouth texture. Well balanced alternating every dollop w century egg kaya, luxuriously topped with caviar. Chef @hafizzul.hmy brought out both nostalgic and new, all at once, gratifies the sophisticated palate.

The cuisine here is refined and a visit will seal, supported by the excellent sommelier and floor service, to have more than well earned the Michelin Green Star.
Chef Haffizul’s elegantly elevated classic dishes for visual feast atop the palate delight.
The night was exceptionally special for me to see Chef’s collection of the same vintage glass plates my late grandma left behind and I kept dearly.
I highly recommend a visit to experience Southeast Asia cuisine with robust & bold flavours - creatively refined and endorsed by Michelin. Very enjoyable 🍋🟩
Quite possibly the best fine dining experience I've had this year. Interesting blend of flavours, excellent execution. You just know Chef Hafizzul loves his food. Highly recommend.
we had such a wonderful time at restaurant fiz. this was my second time but i had wanted so long to bring my family here since i first had it for a friend’s birthday.
the dishes did not disappoint and the service made us feel comfortable. we enjoyed everything but one of my favourite dishes that featured new flavours for me was the kabosha squash. nasi dagang is a must have as well as their desserts.
My second visit in 3 weeks because…the food is SO GOOD. Chef-owner is kind and sweet, and he will ensure you’re well taken care of. The best dishes for me are the forged parfait toast, wild fiddlehead ferns, and bahulu+chempedak soufflé. You MUST dip the bahulu into the soufflé before popping it into your mouth, for an amazing harmony of flavours. Blue swimmer crab, beef short ribs, duck and chicken tonic and grilled kampung chicken were delicious too. This restaurant is at the top of my list at the moment. I will definitely be back!
Food tastes just amazing!
It was a total surprise, each dish had something unique, everything was so flavourful, nothing was overpowering. Service was prompt and super courtious. They explained everything about the dish patiently.
This is meal to feed your inner-self, not just stomach.
Thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Thank You to the Chef and team.
An excellent place for high dining with outstanding service. They explain each and every dish and cater to your requests. Chef also stepped out to say Hi.
Was very excited to try Restaurant Fiz and the experience exceeded all my expectations.
The menu was innovative and offered comforting south-east asian flavours in a refined and elevated way. Standout dishes were the botan ebi and the Kampong chicken broth.
The experience was made even better by the attentive staff, as well as the carefully curated ambience. The restaurant is designed beautifully, with open spaces that let diners look into the kitchen and cozy booths to still ensure privacy while dining. It was a major plus point that while it was a fine dining restaurant, the atmosphere was very welcoming and relaxing. Additionally, we loved the music, which we were told that the playlist was personally curated by chef Hafizzul.
All in all, Restaurant Fiz delivered an unforgettable dining experience and I will definitely be visiting again.
Food coma with Fiz full dining experience. Amazing favors, creation, innovation, presentation and surprises with every bite into Chef Hafizzul's food.
An enjoyable Michelin dinner with nice environment, super efficient work at their very clean kitchen at full view from diners and served by an ultra friendly team.
We have been to many Michelin restaurants and Fiz is ranked one of our Top in our list.
Thank you Chef Hafizzul and Team for the great hospitality!
Really excellent food. There was nothing that we didn't like. Had gone with a friend for our joint birthday celebration. We'd ordered the 6-course menu. Everything was really delish, especially the duck. So much so, we had to ask for seconds coz the we felt the portion sizes were a little small. I understand chef would like to bring the sharing plates culture to fine dining, I think it would be better to have individually plated mains so the portion of meat, veges and rice is clear. Other than this... Everything was great. Service was attentive but with enough space for us to enjoy the meal and our conversation.
Great experience here. Brought my family over. It’s a unique opportunity to try south East Asian fine dining. Initially wondered how can south East Asian food be made into fine dining? But this really does it well - the food structure taste etc. is definitely at *good* fine dining level. Appreciate the communal dining at the end of the individual portions - Asian-touch not lost!
Sophisticated Nusantara cuisine combining chef Hafizzul’s European fine dining training with his own heritage and childhood memories growing up in Perak. Lots of curing / fermentation for depth of flavour and umami. They were also able to accommodate a friend’s dietary preferences although we had neglected to inform them in advance. Service is excellent - warm but not overbearing, and the space is beautifully designed with plenty of breathing room and privacy (a real luxury in Singapore). They even showed us around the restaurant as we were the first to arrive that evening.
What a wonderful experience! The whole meal was a story about home and nostalgia. I highly recommend if you're looking to glimpse into the flavours and history of South East Asia. Also recommended that you go with good company as the menu is designed to be shared.
Fiz serves amazing Southeast Asian cuisine with taste profiles that exceeded all of my expectations. Was extremely impressed as to how every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavors; it's evident that only the freshest and finest ingredients are used. The blue swimmer and spanner crab was a standout for me and is a must-try.
Service at Fiz is impeccable - the staff are attentive without being intrusive, and you can tell that they are genuinely passionate about ensuring your dining experience is flawless.
Would highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a memorable dining experience with spectacular food!
What an absolutely wonderful dining experience. Myself and 5 other guests had the pleasure of enjoying the amazing culinary skills of Chef Hafizzul and we were not disappointed. If you are in Singapore put this on your list of restaurants to visit. You will not be disappointed.
Had a delightful experience sampling their Sajian Warisan. Delectable use of unique Asian spices and flavors. The nasi dagang was brilliant, unique, unlike those I’ve had from Malaysia before, my fav. The sea urchin, botan prawn were exquisite starters. Mains were all great, esp the king mackerel with the gulai. Cempedak soufflé was nice although a touch too sweet for me.
Chef Hafizzul has done an excellent job with his blend of SE Asian cuisine.
I had the nasi dagang set which I presumed is their signature since it’s the main course in the tasting menu.
It is a good intro for the uninitiated but for someone who probably had countless versions of this dish since I was kid I felt that some aspects could be improved. Parts of it are from personal preference though.
- The rice itself: fantastic, not much complaints. Although a bit on the mushier side for my liking and they put something on it (kerisik?) which overpowers the rice a little (especially so when you add gulai and other things)
- Gulai: a touch too sweet for me. Feels closer to Kelantan version so if you like that then this will suit your palate. The mackarel is fantastic though - you won’t find this quality in the traditional version
- Fiddlehead ferns: the sambal tumis well and truly overpowers the vegs that i can only taste the sambal. Would have like it to be a bit more balanced. It is too intense that when combined with rice and gulai the flavour just clashes
- Solok lada: personally can go without this. I don’t see how the hokkaido scallop improves the taste other than to justify the pricing. Also not authentic to serve this with nasi dagang
Overall it is a good effort to elevate the simple nasi dagang but for me increasing the complexity does not translate to a better dish. Perhaps the chef is better off pushing the boundary by having a completely different spin to it - as of now it is still too close to the traditional version and will be judged as such.
On the service, it requires improvement. Water level was not monitored and not once topped up during meal and had to be requested at the end. There was also constant upselling which is tiring.
I would like to see the restaurant successful so this critique may seem harsh. If you are not familiar with the food, don’t let this review put you off - you won’t find anything similar with such quality in Singapore and it is definitely worth a try.
The restaurant reminded me of Sorn in Bangkok and has the potential to get to same level.
Had the pleasure of dining here recently with friends, and the experience was nothing short of impeccable.
Each dish was a delightful journey of flavours that left us wanting more. I particularly enjoyed the use of ingredients native to certain regions of Southeast Asia, which are not commonly found here in Singapore. My personal favourite has to be the Blue Swimmer Crab. Other must tries are the Market Fish, the Chicken Tonic and the Cempedak Souffle.
The service was equally impressive. The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly, ensuring that our every need was met with a smile. Kudos to Chef Hafizzul and team for this unforgettable experience.
Truly a great experience. Never knew malay food could be done this way. Service was great and the chef took the time to talk to us.
Would give 6 stars if I could.
Had such an amazing dinner at Restaurant Fiz last night! Warm service, great space and music, and food was absolutely perfect. Can't wait to go back <3
Worth multiple visits! Every bite evoked a part of SEA and, unique for high end restaurants, the taste matched the looks! Lunch menu is incredible value. Thank you Rahul and team for the lovely service and chef owner Hafizzul for taking the time to chat with guests (and showing us the herbs he uses in the dishes!)
Everything was perfect for us. The food delicious (we did a la carte but with chefs advice). Nuanced with flavours and spices beautifully in balance, and every mouthful delicious from beginning to end. The team also looked after us so well - informative, friendly and engaged/engaging. Thankyou Chef and team - we’ll aim to be back when visiting Singapore, hopefully soon!
Refined and interesting interpretation of SEAsian cuisine. A lot of effort and thought with tasty and tasteful results! A must try.
A must visit for modernised Malayan with natural ingredients
Had a great time at Restaurant Fiz! Soothing & calming setting from the moment you stepped in. Unpretentious, focusing purely on the chef’s culinary skills. Amazed by Chef Hafiz’s new take on Malay Archipelago cuisine that we are so familiar with. Definitely bringing it to the next level!
Had a great time chatting with the Chef Hafizzul & the friendly staffs. Definitely worth a visit!
Superb Malay cuisine with elevated flavor profile! The most engaging and informed staff I've encountered in a restaurant with impeccable hospitality to tour the kitchen and meet the chef for a photo. Fine dining prices but worthwhile for the prices!
One of the best places for regional SEA food.
An awesome culinary experience. The food was amazing. Staff were courteous and friendly. The Adan Rice is a definite must try.
