Reviews of Rosemead Singapore
I had an amazing experience at the restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious, especially the grilled meat and the Yuzu Pepper Sgroppino cocktail, which was simply perfect. 🤤🤤🤤
The staff were incredibly friendly and made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. The interior is beautifully designed, creating a warm and elegant atmosphere, and the music added a nice touch to the overall vibe. I’ll definitely be coming back! 🖤
This is one of the best dining experience I had in the past few months . Thank you Michelle for the super lovely service . I love the cocktail especially the soufflé espresso martini. It is truly unique . My favorite dish is the pork chop . Still think about it even after one week . definitely highly recommend and I will go back again very soon .
Located in a heritage building which was once a bank decades ago, Rosemead surprised me on so many levels. Food was so good and Albert the manager deserves a raise for his excellent service!! He even gave us a tour of the venue and showed us the private space they had which was actually a bank vault with the vault door still very much intact ! Memorable dishes were Shitake Shokupan, tomato salad and the heritage duroc pork chop. Definitely worth a visit !!!
Was introduced to the restaurant by my friend. I was served by Pan and his team. It was a great experience and the food was good too! Do try out their signature bread and also their steak and Brussels sprouts!
This is one of those dining experiences where one is so caught up with the beautiful ambiance and the wonderful food that you’d forget to even take pictures 😆 Everything looks so good that I ended up going for the tasting menu. It was totally worth it. The brioche, the beef, the dessert, the scallop, the grilled tomatoes, the pumpkin… it’s like a brilliantly orchestrated fireworks that kept exploding in my mouth and leaving me wanting more.
Very cozy casual fine dinning vibe. We especially love the grilled lamb shoulder. It was very tender and tasty at the same time. A small complimentary cake since its our anniversary.
Visited during lunch time.
Good service.
Good atmosphere.
They have 2 or 3 course lunch. I got the hamachi starter and salmon as main course. Both are very very good. I also tried the burrata (very good). My friends got the burger and ribeye steak (they said they were good) and the eggplant vegetarian main course (I tried it, it’s nice but very small for a main course). The dessert is so-so.
We tried their signature bread too, it’s very soft and slightly sweet on the outside, reminds me of a less sweet panettone.
PS: this is the old Black Swan (now redecorated and rebranded)
Came here with friends and we had a great experience!
Every dish that we ordered were well executed and the flavours were quite surprising. Desserts and cocktails are also a must-try.
Nice private place to dine in with special people. Great place to take even with bigger group. Love their set for us and champagne 🍾 must try! Favourites were the burata, desserts and the Brussels sprout. Special shout out to the team for giving us a nice photo for our friend's farewell and a nice cake surprise to top it off 😊 would recommend to bring your loved ones here for a romantic night too. Food was 👍
First time trying Californian cuisine, with my first experience at @rosemeadsg - a concept by Chef David Tang @dt4ng, and Jigger & Pony Group.
🌟 House rolls & Shitake Cultured Butter ($19)
Started off the dinner with this, and I loved how the rolls were so soft and buttery, with a shitake butter glaze. It's honestly already pretty good without the butter, but with the shitake butter, flavour is further enhanced! Such a good balance of sweet and saltiness, I loved it!
King Crab & Fingerlime Fermented Chilli ($42)
Crab was really fresh and tender! First time trying Finger lime and I'm pretty intrigued - it's similar to how Tobiko pops in your mouth, but with a citrusy lime flavour here. Overall quite a refreshing dish that's pretty light in flavour.
🌟 Slow-cooked Wagyu Short Rib ($65)
NGL the short rib here was a bit dry, but I really loved the flavour and sauce here. Cooked w/ cordyceps, bone marrow, and topped with Black truffle.
Canary Island Seabass ($72)
Interesting addition of green peppercorn, and it's actually the sauce of Iberico ham. Not amazing, but a decent dish.
Swordtip Squid & Mussel ($27)
Sauce was made with green chilli harissa. Squid was a little too chewy for my liking and flavourwise isn't exactly to my palette tho 🙈.
🌟 Whole Roast Chicken & Smoked Leeks ($80)
The sauce had a slight mushroom flavour (?), and together with Winter truffle, went well with the chicken. The chicken was pretty tender, but it's the sauce that makes it memorable. Definitely worth a try, with portion that's good for sharing.
Desserts ($18 each)
Chitose Farm Strawberry & Heirloom Beetroot
Honestly the Beetroot sorbet isn't really my thing - didn't enjoy the "Vege"/ earthy taste from the icecream, but it could just be not to my palette.
Sudachi lime & white choc
It's layers of White Choc which actually wasn't too sweet, and topped with bits of zesty lime.
Burnt Honey Meringue & Malted Milk Chocolate
Tart was actually not bad, Milk Chocolate was decent in texture and not too heavy on the palette. Particularly liked pairing with the honey meringue.
Had the pleasure of having my anniversary dinner at Rosemead and it was a truly enjoyable experience. Other than the food being amazing, I would like to give props to the service staff for being so attentive and thoughtful. My girlfriend would like to thank the staff once again for the beautiful polaroids taken and the birthday card that the staff wrote for her. Thanks for the amazing night!
Beautiful deco but average food.
Nothing in particular stood except my favourite dish, which is the 7 piece bun with butter and would definitely return just for that. A bit on the pricey side for bread but worth giving a try!
Tried the set lunch and the signature bread. Gosh the bread was just amazing together with the unami butter. Would be back even if it is just for the bread! 2 course set lunch: had the carpaccio. Portion was huge! Each slice was thick. Flavours are well balance with the sauce. Main was salmon with rice. Again portion was huge. I was filled halfway through the meal! Crispy salmon skin. The whole dish is well balanced. Amazing experience, will love to be back soon!
California food is a kind of new trial. Food, services and ambiance are good. If a $128 dinner set menu is a value steal, Rosemead never disappoints.
🙏
Had a nice dinner with good food, good service & venue is cosy. MUST TRY their HOUSE ROLLS & SHIITAKE CULTURED BUTTER !! Can’t get enough of it.
Perfectly cooked WOOD-FIRED LAMB SHOULDER TAHINA & LEBANESE PICKLE that the meat just slide off the bone.
Singaporeans are a price-conscious bunch, so if you're a mass-affluent restaurant that serves well-cooked food but lacks well-priced dishes, you can bet that they'll go once to ensure that they've locked in a been-there-done-that picture for the Gram, but you can also bet that they'd never be back. Rosemead occupies the now-defunct Black Swan, and is the Jigger & Pony Group's newest addition to its repertoire of restaurants like Humpback and Caffe Fernet. Unlike Humpback and Caffe Fernet, Rosemead's prices are much steeper, with meat dishes starting from SG$65++, crescendoing to SGD$498 for a Rangers Valley Rib Chop. Caffe Fernet is a longtime haunt of mine, and I find the price point to be fair for the consistently decent quality of food (maintaining consistent quality over 5 years is no mean feat). Rosemead however, occupies a strange segment in the restaurant space: she's not a fine dining contender, but she's also priced well above the mass-affluent price point.
For a party of two, the bill came up to $225 nett for threes starters, one main, and a dessert. Not bank-breaking, but all the dishes consisted of common, unimpressive ingredients, and begged the question of why a side of grilled tomatoes should cost $25. The simple (albeit tasty) starter dish like an Avocado Crab tartine would set you back $38 nett. Not the best value of money for some deftly sliced pieces of avocado wrapped around some mangrove crab. It's a recurring gripe with all dishes at Rosemead- the Chitose Farm tomatoes were tasty and well-charred, but $28 nett for a side of tomatoes is hardly bang for your buck. My favourite starter would probably be Rosemead's signature house rolls, which was much larger than expected and could easily be shared between a table of four. Fluffly, sweet shoukupan is contrasted by a crusty, exterior flaked with sea salt, and served alongside a cultured shiitake butter. $22 nett for a solid round of bread that can feed four ain't that bad, which makes the shoukupan one of the more value for money options on the menu. For the main, we ordered the Whole Roast Chicken with Smoked Leeks and Black Winter Truffle ($93 nett). It was a huge portion easily shared among a group of three dudes or four ladies, and there was no dearth of truffle, which should assuage ingredient-conscious patrons. We took away the remains of the chicken since my companion and I couldn't finish it, and it still remained tender and moist the next day post-zap.
Desserts shine here, with ex-Preludio patisserie Elena Pérez running a tight patisserie ship. I enjoyed both desserts chosen, but am slightly partial to the Chitose Strawberry and Beetroot dessert, which lent a tangy, refreshing ending to the meal with its one-two punch of tartness from the strawberries and sweetness from the beet. The Burnt Honey Meringue also put up a good fight, served alongside a dark chocolate tart and a wedge of honeycomb. All in all, there's nothing inherently wrong or bad about Rosemead. It's just really overpriced. Like I said. Most patrons drawn by the high ceilings and social media coverage would go once, but I don't think Rosemead has enough charm in food, ambience, or service to woo them back. This sentence from a Google Review says it all: "My experience here was not bad. The food was not bad. And it just opened so there is room for growth. It was just unmemorable. And at the current price point, that feels like something you cannot afford to be."

Great food! Menu changes often enough to give a good variety to regulars! Service was great too! Nice cosy place for a few friends to have dinner!
2 course set lunch ($65)
Kingfish ceviche - Refreshing. The nectarine and lime went well with the fish.
Iberico pork neck - Tender and flavourful. Good portion. The charred lettuce was good.
The moment we arrived, the jovial crew welcomed us. The ambience was mesmerising, with the high ceiling and little touches around the space. We had the three-course lunch set, shitake shokupan bread and coffee. The food is colourful and delicious, esp the burrata mozzarella salad and shitake shokupan bread. Special shoutout to Daryl and Jason for the wonderful hospitality ✌🏼✨
Came here for quick lunch. I picked 2-course set lunch , bill with GST and service charge is about S$77. Feel this is pricy for a business meal. No warm bread provided like other restaurant while waiting for foods. I picked ceviche as my starter and pork neck (bit salty) as my main. I didn’t take the photo of salmon dish which my colleague had. So far in general the taste is ok , nothing wow about it. I score this 7/10.
Very attentive service staff. Food was really good as well. They gave us a cake and took a Polaroid and put it into a card to celebrate our friend’s birthday. Really thoughtful.
Very good casual business lunch option. Food was really good, and ambience was nice classy yet casual. Service was also good, and location was superb (away from the more crowded streets of shophouses for instance).
We had a great time celebrating my mother's birthday last night. We also had the pleasure of having Pan as our host for the night. He was an absolute star
I’m blown away… the ambience, food and service were impeccable. We hosted a business luncheon here and it went well. The iberico pork is amazing, miso tofu is delicious…Glad to have picked this place.
Loved our meal here! The decor was gorgeous, the food was delicious and the strawberry spritz might be my favourite spritz yet! Service was wonderful and loved the fun tunes in the background. Highly recommend and I can’t wait to go back.
Amazing spot! Friend held a wedding at this lovely venue and it's a perfect spot for this! Service was immaculate with friendly and attentive personnel who will always greet you with a warm smile. Food was amazing as well!
Great food, great service. Jonzen was great! Love his recommendation of American wines, which goes v well with the food.
We celebrated my husband’s birthday at Rosemead and we had a really great time - loved the playlist!
In particular, our server for the night, Dhipan, was extremely attentive to our needs as we brought along our toddler. He gave us great recommendations and even arranged a nice surprise for our celebration!
I’ve always felt that no matter how great the food is, service rounds out the entire meal experience and tonight, we had great food and great service. We really enjoyed the pork chop and the yuzu whiskey sour.
Will highly recommend the place!
5/5 stars for this place!
⭐️ Celebrated Valentine’s Day here. The service was impeccable; food was good with some hit & misses (hence 4/5 for food) but overall still a good experience.
Side note: super thoughtful of the team to prepare mini banana loaves for each diner!!
Have come here for lunch and dinner. The lunch sets are good value for a satisfying meal. For dinner we ordered a few starters and mains to share. I generally enjoyed the meats more than the seafood. The shokupan bread is a must have. Service was excellent and they even prepared a little cake for my birthday!
Brought my wife here for a lovely birthday lunch. Pleasantly surprised by the service and there was even a polaroid shot to capture the special occasion. Food was good and service staff was attentive. Price was on the higher end but the overall experience made up for it!
Lunch with clients. Prices aren't cheap but the food was great and the service was good too. I thoroughly enjoyed the salmon I had as my main course although the almond tart was a little underwhelming.
Will come again.
Everything was lovely - from the ambience, to the food and service. Staff was attentive without being overly intrusive. Highly recommend the pecan pie. Will definately revisit!
Good location, nice ambience (the old blacl swan), solid food (I had the Duroc pork lunch course which was excellent), great service. The menu could be more diverse though. Recommended for business lunch. Everything pretty much on point, just nothing stellar.
Our server was great but food was hit and miss. The kingfish ceviche was gd but the beef burger were too well done and burnt. The girl at front of house shld be more professional, polite and welcoming to guests.
Such a beautiful place. Wonderful elegant and yet chill ambience, attentive and very wam welcoming service. Delicious food - subtle flavors that are amazingly paired with a really great selection of CA wine. They took our photo on a polaroid - such a cute memory. I would highly recommend going to Rosemead on a special occassion
Service was 💯. Sides were simple yet tasty. Desserts were good too.
Only let down were the proteins - Salmon and Chicken. While it was tasty, the protein was over cooked and dried out.
Overall, pretty expensive dinner. But will go back just for the sides (eg the bread).
First time visiting during dinner service. Service remains top class, but food wise, I actually prefer the lunch options.
Great service and super ingredients! Just the portion is a bit small. Entrees are about the size of starters
I had a wonderful and great time here and our servant (Pan) was very kind and served us very wonderfully
Good food and service. Loved the shokuban bread, the pork tomahawk and tomato salad
Hamachi was delectable! I didnt quite like it that waiter whisked away my wine glass without asking me (assumed I didnt drink)
Great service and great food. I highly recommend the shokupan. The set lunches are reasonably priced.
Great mother's day lunch with attentive service!
Great spot for a quick business lunch. Food and service were excellent.
Quality food, nice vibes, great service. Central location. What else do you expect ?
Small portions especially for the price you're paying!!
Good spot for dinner
