Reviews of San Ren Xing 三人行 - Thomson Plaza
Went to this place as we ran out of idea where to eat at Thomson Plaza, seeing that we have not tried this place before, we decided to give it a go.
We reserved in advance for fear of dinner crowd, due to reservation placed, we were quickly led inside. The place is spacious and the staff are polite.
We waited quite a while for the food but it was justified as each item was served hot. When I mean hot, I mean smoking, piping hot! You can see the steam from it.
I highly recommend the Mapo Tofu and the Deep Fried Pig Intestines. The portions served are okay, since we are not super huge eaters. Price is reasonable for the quality and the fact that no food was served warm/cold (other than the cold desserts and drinks, of course).
5 out of 5 stars! I hope you guys will keep up with the wonderful service and quality of the food!
Every dish was well-prepared and delicious. The ambiance and service complemented the experience, making it a memorable dining experience. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy authentic flavors and a great meal!
There’s a 20% discount if you eat before noon. Not sure if it applies on weekends, but I went on a weekday and enjoyed the discount :)
The absolute must try is the Guo tie. The dumplings are so juicy and it is so beautifully plated with the lacy, thin and crispy layer holding all the dumplings together. Skills.
Second fave was the drunken chicken. I think I could have eaten the entire portion by myself. But since I had to share it I also ordered a smoked duck dish which was nice too but I liked the chicken.
Beef noodles have a bit of mala vibes going on which I like. The beef was well cooked too - not tough. Noods were a bit on the thick side so not as refined as dintaifung but still delish and nice for a change. A bit bored of the thinner noodles by now.
Overall two thumbs up. Would come back for sure. Good for older folks too I feel (quite a spacious place and there were a lot of retirees around me so I think they love the food?)
I'll be transparent. You can get a free dessert here if you leave a review. But even without that, the food is so good and portions are so generous, I would probably have given them a review anyway. And the 5 stars is from the heart!
We had Nanping Soup Noodles (南平焖面) and dumplings (北方水饺). Soup noodles were great, so filling and hearty, and dumplings also hit the spot. Soup noodles (small) portion is just right for 2 people if you order 1-2 other dishes. The free osmanthus cake is also light, pleasant, but flavorful.
Also want to commend the patient and pleasant service here. Prices are very affordable given the quality. Will be coming back!
Nanping braised noodle was delicious, good portion for the price. Garlic prawns with vermicelli was nice too and not too salty, alot of minced garlic that goes well with the prawns. We also got the salted egg yolk chicken which was ok as compared to the other two dishes. Recommend the nanping braised noodles, yummy!
Had their lunch set. Their ribs were tender, juicy, and perfectly balanced between sweet and savory. The marinade had rich traditional spices, and the portion was generous. The presentation was appealing, making it a must-try dish.
Food is great . It is tasty. Would recommend Dong po rou , salted egg chicken and squid
they are very soft
Dishes are nice but not worth the price.San ren xing fried rice is so so n don’t worth that price , sambal fried rice is nice yet feel the pricing not worth., the nanping noodle is delicious., dong bo rou too many lean meat so it a bit tough n dried on the meat when eat
Salted egg chicken is nice n juicy., pork rib is tasty, thus mushroom not that nice n don’t worth that pricing
Came for a weekday lunch and was very impressed by the value for money lunch deal. You get a main (lala noodles in my case), sides as well as a drink. Taste is good, not too oily or salty, perfect for a not-too-heavy lunch. Recommended!
Great food, especially love the wok fried cabbage. Came on a public holiday for lunch, food was served quickly and service was good
The food is great overall and the atmosphere is very suitable for family gatherings. The xiaolongbao is juicy and honestly really worth it! The pork dish is savoury and has lots of flavour, all of us really enjoyed it! Would 100% recommend!!
The pot noodles is very umami; despite having a thickened broth. The steamed wantons with chilli is a surprise - the sauce taste very much like the seasoning they use for steamed fish. The chilled pork belly is also good.
If you like chilli, their in-house chilli is damn shiok. Can buy the bottle back.
I wanted to try the sugared yam and yam coconut dessert the next time!
Food tastes like traditional Fujian dishes. Not too salty and oily. Xiao long bao is good but i would prefer more soup in it. The staff are also very helpful and nice!
Yummy food and great service! Wish the aircon inside the restaurant was cooler, but otherwise, great experience.
Overall experience was great. Food was good. Would be better if more dim sum options.
Quite a decent meal though can give the garlic prawns a miss as they were a bit tasteless.
Went there for the promotion, where if you spend $50 and above, you can have a deep fried Seabass for $9.90.
We were not disappointed with the food, as all dishes we ordered are delicious. Highly recommend the fish, pork knuckle and the appetiser (century egg and spicy chicken)
Will definitely come back here for family dinner.
Had a pleasant dining experience here. Unique dishes such as the prosperity trotter, sweet yam with sugar, garlic prawns, back gong pork ribs are are must try. Simply amazing. ✨👍🏻
The surprising dish was the Yam with maltose sugar.
It was coated with 麦芽糖 and very hot when served.
It needs to be dipped in cold water before eating.
Drunken chicken served cold, it’s so so.
Egg plant had more of the fried stuff rather than the egg plant itself.
Pork ribs quite ok, nothing to shout about.
Prawn rather small, this is small size which is about 6 pieces.
Might come again to try other stuff!
Food is very nice and had us coming back many times. The service is good and attentive. Come and try out yourself. The price is on the higher side and its worth trying. They also have set lunch as well.😋
The staff is friendly. The atmosphere is pleasant. The food is good.
Very very good Chinese food. Highly recommend the Fried Fish Soup and Salted Egg Chicken.
Service is extremely professional and warm. All staff members are very well trained and friendly.
Prices are also very competitive, and are cheaper than most other popular Chinese restaurants in Singapore with food that is even better.
Comfortable dining environment, nanping braised noodles is my must order everytime I'm here. Service is attentive too. No wonder the google rating is so high.
Surprisingly, good quality food at a reasonable price. I had the nourishing chicken soup, and it was tasty and flavourful. Steamed prawn n sotong is fresh. Both veggie dishes well fry.
Hidden gem in Thomson Plaza with surprisingly good and reasonably priced Lor Mee. The chilli sealed the deal for me! The other dishes worth trying are the port floss Brinjal and fried Seabass.
Set meal A $12.90++
- Nanping Noodles
- Pork ribs
- mushroom salad
- Drink of the day (Coconut)
Service is excellent.
Fast & efficient.
Food is nice & worth for the price
Environment is clean & neat
Service staff are friendly
*Review to get a dessert for free ( Water Chestnut or Osmanthus cake )
First time to this outlet. Got the crispy chicken at promo price but was asked to give a 5 Star rating first (which I complied). However, I had to be honest with my reviews. I couldn’t give 5 stars as there are certainly room for improvement.
I like it that the bowl, cup, plates and cutlery are wrapped up to ensure hygiene. Dishes tasted healthy, not oily or salty. The steamed prawns were fresh. The only issue was the “saliva chicken”. It was meant to be a side dish, like an appetiser, but was the last to arrive. I had to leave some rice while waiting for the dish. I had to conclude that the dish was not worth waiting for. It was the only dish that we didn’t want to finish.
Anyway, we were pleased that the staff accepted our feedback and did not charge us for the dish.
The cuisine leans towards Northern style, flavourful and heavy side. The desserts are excellent. Highly recommended
Staff are helpful. Food is good! The tong por rou is nice and tender. The French Beans is good. The Sauekraut fish is v good. The steam squid is tender and on point. We enjoyed our dinner very much.
The service is excellent; the staff promptly replaces your plate when it’s filled with leftovers and refills your water as soon as your cup is half empty. The food is fresh and delicious.
Chinese new year luncheon. Food wise are ok but the waiting time for dishes to be served prolonged after more tables are filled
Good food especially coconut with yam paste(orh nee)
The xiao long bao was excellent and in my opinion better than an established Taiwanese chain’s. The signature noodles were not bad but I felt it paled slightly compared to another established chain of restaurants. The claypot brinjal was excellent, as was the fried cod fish. Will definitely return!
Great food. Staff are very friendly and polite. Value for money. Clay pot noodle soup was awesome.
2nd time here and my family always loved their food & service.
portion is good for a family & even if its very crowded their service is still tip top 🫡💯
The food not bad and taste is good. Price is moderate.
Food is interesting and taste good. Will come again.
I had the individual set lunch with my wife . Service was great. Taste good. Worth trying set lunch at $16.90
Classic Fujian and Sichuan dishes 🇨🇳
Finally paid a visit after hearing multiple positive reviews of this popular Chinese restaurant. Founded in 2013, San Ren Xing has multiple outlets and here’s our honest review of the food! 🥢
🌟 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗡𝗮𝗻𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗡𝗼𝗼𝗱𝗹𝗲 ($𝟭𝟱.𝟱𝟬) 📸 3
One of their popular dishes, this reminded us of Heng Hua lor mee. While the Putian delicacy is richer in flavour, this rendition still proved to be a comforting dish that is best enjoyed with the sweet spicy chilli sauce 🍜🔥
🌟 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗘𝗴𝗴 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗻 ($𝟮𝟮.𝟳𝟬) 📸 1
We also had the tempting salted egg chicken which smelt heavenly 🥹 We love that the chicken is deboned for easier consumption. However, for the price we wished this came in a more substantial portion 🍗
🌟 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗫𝗶𝗮𝗼 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗮𝗼 ($𝟭𝟭.𝟵𝟬) 📸 2
A signature dish, the xiao long bao is quite juicy. However, pork fillings tasted a little gamey and the juice could be more flavourful. We were also disappointed that the skin was rather thick. Would skip this…
For those visiting on weekdays, consider their attractive promotion with deep fried seabass for $9.90++ only. No min spend!
Didn’t make use of this deal as we visited on a weekend. Overall, we found the food decent only. Not sure if it’s the choice of wrong dishes or that standards have fallen lately 🫠

First time coming here for our reunion dinner. Used to visit the outlet in Jcube. Enjoyed their food and their staffs were patience and prompt.
Was completely blown away with each dish we ordered. As it is located at the basement of Thomson Plaza, tucked at a corner, it is really not noticeable. Will surely return to try their other dishes.
Tried for the first time. Enjoyed the food especially the pig trotter (tender!), Nanping Braised Noodle and the “homemade popiah”. Would bring my children along in future. Service was good too.
The yam food look interesting with sugar coating & noodles taste nice. 😊
Delicious xiao long bao and gyoza guo tie. Chilli wantons were also tast. Big spacious restaurant with nice decor and clean feel. Staff were friendly. Overall nice Chinese restaurant with dim sum.
Great chinese food choice. Slightly on the high side for price, but indeed yummy food.
Ordered: Bamboo shoot with pork, Chinese cabbage with pork strips and the promo chicken dish at $8.80. (First picture)
They are running a promotion at $8.80 for either of their three signature dish. Fish/Prawn/Chicken. Definitely worth it.
Visited the Thomson plaza outlet to have family lunch. The food is nice, with good service and waiting time is short as well! Will definitely visit the outlet again!
First time here and I must say the food we ordered was good! The special coconut yam paste dessert was so good, we can smell the coconut fragrance once it was served! Great service as well, some of the staffs were very helpful in recommending a few good dishes to us. Will definitely return!
The steamed prawns are very fresh, sweet in taste and appetisingly presented. The accompanying garlic puree is very flavourful and packs a punch!
The noodle broth is yummy too.
A good alternative to Putien.
Prompt service and good food. Would recommend their corn shaped fish and claypot brinjal.
The spicy wanton with vinegar and popiah skin pork wrap were ok.
Nice food and good service. Look forward to another gathering here!
Nice place, great service and very nice food. Food was served very fast. Having promotion now, fish is only $8.80. Will come back again.
Great food and very comfortable environment. Service is good too
Nice food, good service and can use discount vouchers.
Overall, the food and service is excellent. Will come back here again. I had the fried fish, Gong bao chicken and Lu mian.
Excellent food. Surprised that I haven't tried this restaurant until now. The soup and spicy fried chicken is to die for.
Overall not bad, the duck is pretty good
Celebrated Grandma's 92nd birthday at San Ren Xing, kudos to Mandy we managed to book for 56 pax on a Saturday night. We ordered the Set B 8-course meal and vegetarian set meal.
It was our first time trying out this restaurant (friend's recommendation) and surprisingly, I was truly impressed with the dishes and service provided despite being full house. Everyone sang praises of the food, especially the seafood with pork and salted egg yolk soup and deep fried chicken (all the meat were so tender). The food came promptly without having to wait for a period of time. The little kids were also having the time of their life with the balloons given to them.
Will definitely come back again to try the rest of the dishes! Big thanks to Pan Pan and the rest of the service staff providing exemplary service and ensuring that the celebration dinner went smoothly.
*Surprisingly, though it was a heartland mall, parking was an issue. Maybe it was due to the peak period, so probably have to reach earlier. Can tap on the free valet parking if required.
The family suggested eating here and it was a good choice. The food is generally cooked in a healthy way without too much oil, and is still delicious.
The pork and chives dumplings were good, and we ordered a second round. The xiaolongbao was delicate and full of flavour. We also enjoyed the braised daicon with crab meat - it was done well and looked a bit like shark’s fin soup. We also had bamboo shoots with minced meat, which I felt was a little light in taste.
The yam paste cooked in a young coconut was an excellent ending to the meal. It is quite large, somid ideal to be shared by two.
Service was quick and efficient.
Super yummy food
Innovative cuisine, spacious seating, and the food is very delicious! Love the malt yam, solid favourite!
Food here is great, staff is attentive!
Excellent noodles and popiah/shredded pork
Good deal for prawns at 50% off...always good service. Taste never change! Keep it up!
Value for money lunch set. The bao gong pork ribs and nanping noodles were delicious!
Food was great and the staff service was prompt and attentive. Would definitely come back again.
The roast chicken was the best among the 4 dishes we ordered.
Food was good and price was very reasonable. Will come back again.
Our family go to when we crave for Putien style food! Great service ! The stewed noodles is a must order!
Overall experience was good! The food timing is a little slow but the food is delicious
1. Return the 'default' appetizers 2. Return the tissues. 3. Order appetizers - I recommend the mushroom salad. 4. Order your mains. It's not the cheapest but clean and familiar food ala Din Tai Fung.
Service is good, price is reasonable and food tasted good.
Lovely experience. Set Meal A during lunch time is a must!
Good food and Good services. Please try it!!
Good service, and food was nice, will recommend friends.
Jcube closing. End this Sunday. I am here today, sat. The manager lady and the short hair lady waitress are good. I was here when they open business today. The foods are nice. Will support the two other outlets.
Food is good not saltish not oily
A decent Chinese food, but a little lower than expected, and every dish lacks taste. Maybe the Google rating was too high before.
Every dish is delicious and authentic. I will come again next time. The menu is rich with many choices.
You can try it, the 50% discount on seafood is a good deal and the food is delicious😋Recommended👍
The years are quiet! The food is delicious. Love the yam coated with sugar.
The food here is amazing, their spicy chicken and braised noodles are my favorites! Shredded taro is good too, especially when it’s hot!
Great food, love the boiled fish fillet, great service and friendly staff.
I have eaten braised noodles from many places, but the braised noodles from "Three People" are still delicious👍👍👍
The soup noodles us very good. Putien style. Stir fry vege is crunchy & fresh.
The food is quite nice. We like the soup, noodle and Xiao long Bao here.
Food yummy n the portion is big.. But then aircon not cool enough...
