Reviews of Saute san | City Square Mall | Farrer Park | Vegetarian Vegan Halal | Japanese Korean Western Fusion Cuisines
Service was good from the staff there. food came extremely fast even when today is shiwu.
Recommended to try their handmade gyoza and baked pasta
Awesome Tom Yummy Pasta that I have ever taken! An unique tasty food that must try! Will bring along family & friends to try other signature food eg orh luak & cheesy lion mane patty.
Had the fried abalone mushroom ramen $10.50 and Orh Luak with eggs ($11.90). Both taste good. Portion of ramen could be more, only adequate for a small eater. Staff was polite and service was quite fast. Less than 10 minutes we were served. Food is abit pricey though.
Awesome food as always! Glad to see they put in lots of effort to make things from scratch.
The oyster mushroom fritters were bomb! Basil pesto is good as always 🫶🏼
This place is also probably the only halal-certified fully vegetarian restaurant, so great place to bring friends!
Overall I won’t recommend people to patronise this shop on purpose.
For the price of $58.50 for 3 dishes n 2 drinks, we could get better quality food compared to this.
(Could feed 3-4 pax at other Vegetarian restaurants)
Price - Price is on the high side, small portion
Taste - Price is almost double of other vegetarian outlet but taste is not justifiable (not double nice) 😕.
Curry rice is average, some carrot and potatoes at the side. Cheesy cutlet was not bad.
Teriyaki Lion Mane, 5 small pieces of lion mane. I had to flip the whole dish to spot them. I even thought I was given a wrong dish as I see only shiitake mushroom n veggie.
Sweet potato fries was cold. Sauce was little.
For the price paid for set lunch, portion is a little small.
Else the dried ramen is nicely blended without being overly salty or sweet.
The honey lemon drink is also refreshing.
Worth a try if one wishes to have a change for vegetarian food if ard City Square.
Restaurant is neat and clean. Self service so you need to order the food and pay at the counter. The Truffles shrooms pizza is alright, I expected it to smell nicer but it's just usual pizza. The Truffles salad is the same - I asked to go without the creme sauce which then it's bland (wrong move). I saw a lot of people recommending the soy-miso stew ramen, which I think it's just average. The Matcha Coconut ice cream is not too bad - not too sweet which I like.
Ordered teriyaki tempura don and orh luak. Tempura don very normal, tempura not as crispy and warm as expected, rice slightly mushy, nothing really stand out. Orh luak taste better, not oily and the chili sauce goes well with the eggs. $33+ for two items, slightly pricey but orh luak worth the try.
Ordered Pumpkin Tomato Pasta, Edamame Seaweeds Mushroom Pizza, Stir Fried Mala Udon, Inari Soy Floss, MSW durian / lyeshee / dark choc ice cream.
Pumpkin tomato pasta is great. Rich in taste and blend well. Recommended.
Edamame seaweeds mushroom pizza is not bad, a little heavy towards seaweeds flavour and salty. Thin crust is good. Not perfect but okay, average or slightly lower than average.
Stir fried mala udon is special... Sichuan pepper is nice but I think it can go a little bit stronger mala flavour. It’s quite moderate in terms of richness of mala flavour. But overall it’s a good stir fried udon! Udon was not too soft and soggy.
Soy floss inari is good with a unique crispy floss on top. Quite nice.
Ice cream has no complaints, very good. MSW is a little too sweet for my personal liking.
Walk into the restaurant about 4.30-4.45pm. I was asked if i had reservations and I said no. Was given a table with those long chair without support at the back. I have a younger kid and I worry she might fall back so I ask for a chair with back support but was told by a middle age lady with some white hairs thae all tables are reserved. At that moment there was only like 3 to 4 tables filled. Is ok I said, I will just have to take care of my kid. Then another lady say is ok to let us have another table and so we made the changed.
The middle age lady then tell us to scan the code to order and walk away. I have to take the menu myself because I only have one phone to scan and my 2 kids need to see the menu to choose what to eat.
Service was kind of slow but food wise was not bad. Staff can he quite blur as he almost serve my food to another table and serve food to us that we never order.
The place was still less than half full when i leave and in the duration of my stay there, there are a few walk in which was given tables when I was told all are full.
This place can be a 5 stars if the staffs are more friendly and attentive.
More than delicious restaurant located inside the City Mall. It's in the corner of the mall so it offers a lot of calm and privacy compare to the environment its in. All Vegetarian and Vegan meals.
The service is really good, the staff know the menu and has good suggestions. They are open to modifications and changes on a pre-existing meal.
We ordered the hotpot with Odon (which wasn't in the choices but they gladly made it for us) and the traditional Singapore dish. We added a side of hashbrowns and it came it a nice salad with vegan mayo and a ice tea.
After the meal, we saw the nice sorbets and really wanted to try it. We went for chocolate, wildberries and banana crunchs. The best one was chocolate. It tasted like a really creamy chocolate ice-cream: but no milk involve. We were super impressed. The wildberries was delicious too.
Would for sure go back again!
Just start to take vegan and see many ppl recommended this resturant. After tried, i really love it. The taste is very nice and reasonable price. I will come again.
The vegetarian food here was great with so many options including vegetarian ramen. Do note that they close the kitchen at 45 mins before closing time.
Saute San serves a variety of vegetarian good options.
However, the food tends to be on the oily and salty side.
Overall food is value for money.
The quality is pretty good. I like the Dry Minced Shroom Ramen. The mushroom, parsley, kelp, carrots and tomatoes (I usually don't eat it) give you lots of nutrients. Healthy and tasty. And I am glad that the crowds here are getting bigger these days
Super love the variety of vegetarian and vegan food at Saute-san! Am totally spoiled for choice as I couldn't make up my mind between mala, hotpot, army stew, pizza, rice, noodles, plus all the side dishes and western food and asian food and local fares. Just flipping through the menu itself is a treat! Love looking at the spread in the menu. Even ice cream is good! Looking forward to returning to Saute-san to try more dishes soon! 😊
First time here, the food is very nice and good service by Angela, CH, Shirley and Jade, will be back again
Came for Sunday dinner, waiting time about 10 mins. Good service. Highly recommend the orh luak.
Very nice black truffle pasta 😋 😋😋, also enjoyed the gyoza, along with miso ramen and the monkey head mushrooms.
An wide variety of food, chinese, western, korean, japanese, u name it, they got it. Orh Luak is nice. 😋
Delicious food. All vegetarians can eat here, no problem.
The staff were super nice! They listen and try to get us exactly what we ordered and want.
My new go-to restaurant in Singapore 🇸🇬
I've visited this place a long time ago and just revisired today. Was delighted to find that they have revised the menu almost entirely but still kept the oar loar. We ordered just dishes and they are all good. The renovation at the mall has probably deterred some people, so business is less crowded from how I remembered it used to be.
Will return again to try out the other dishes. It is under the same group with the other branch at paya Lebar named Sauté sushi, which also offered tasty food, but there are alot more choices here at saute san.
Delicious vegetarian food here. Ordered value set meal (soy ramen, salad, gyoza, and lemon tea). All taste great! Ramen is springy just the way I like it, soup base is more herbal than soy, and gyoza came crispy and warm 😋.
Price is on medium high side but the place does not charge gst and service. Signed up as member (just need to key in mobile number and a password) so I will be back again.
One of the best vegan diet restaurant around. Always packed during peak hours. Olive Fried Rice & Root beer float is always a great combo..
Best Black Truffle Sauce pasta ever~
Option between Dairy/Vegan too!
First time visiting this vegetarian restaurant, worth the price for the quality they provide on first impression 😍
I would like to share my awesome experience at your restaurant last weekend. Firstly the service I got from one of your pleasant looking staff was a thumbs up. She had share the variety of dishes to match our preferences. Then for my kid she even had made beautiful flower balloon for her. She was overjoyed. The approach from her was simply I can say very professional and she knows her menu very well. Keep it up, Fong Siah. My family and I will definitely be there again to enjoy your pleasant welcome and hospitality. I have no comments on the food and the atmosphere as its just as good as i have expected it which a few of my friends have recommended them. 👍👍👍
Delicious plant-based Japanese and Korean fusion! Mala udon was fantastic.
It is crowded on Saturday evenings. Ordered Kimchi ramen. It’s alright nothing special. Portion was big though.
Food are all not bad.. especially the fried egg oyster..extremely alike.
As a diner, I feel happy and enjoy the dining with friends at this restaurant at City Squre Mall outlet. I usually dine there at 7.30pm. The staff greet me with sweet smile when i entered the restaurant. I can remember the staffs names, Ling and the supervisor. When is 8.30pm, thanks to staff 's gentle reminder. I can add on some dishes. They never remind me to make payment although is 9.10pm. So i wish to highlight to management, you are fortunate to have the staffs well trained in customer service and provide excellent service. I will sure dine here to celebrate any event with my friends here.
Nice food. Decent price. Was there for my vegan day
Ordered at 1.41pm came at 2.23pm😩
But food is tasty. Return after eating last night.
Wide variety of many choices of Western-asian vegetarian dishes :)
The staff was very nice introducing to us their special dishes. We ordered curry, fried rice, mushroom omelette and tempura. We food was very abundant.
Had been a customer since saute start up at bugis. Was disappointed with the lion mane bulgogi i had today as it was exxxtreemely salty! I tasted like the chef put the whole pint of salt into it.
However, whats commendable was how one of the staff handled my feedback on this. Ms Jade, good job! She was emphatetic, apologetic, patient (which i find surprising in this era where nobody is ever apologetic). She even got the cook the prepare another bowl and have me taste to make sure its ok before she rest the case. Miss Jade, you did your company proud! Very happy with the standard of service recovery 👍
Great service! Hearty and tasty vegetarian ork luak.
Excellent food selection. Besides being vegetarian, they do not use any garlic and onion in their food at all. The garlic-free Aglio Olio was delicious and the ice-cream I had was as good as any other name brand ice-cream. Easily my favourite vegetarian restaurant!
Love the food, for all vegetarian options, it doesn't seem like we are eating vegs n sorts. Flavourful. Gd ambience for lunch. Kid-friendly restaurant.
Yummy vegetarian food 🤤 and excellent customer service.
Love the food. So many variety to choose from. All vegetarian. Some vegan options available.
Must try, the Oh Luak = Oyster Omelette.
First visit. Ordered cashew pesto pasta and Kimchi udon. Surprisingly good! Pasta n noodle were soft and flavourful. Will come again!
Food was good but service could have been better. Cashier did not repeat order and resulted in me ordering something different from what I had expected. Maybe I am being spoilt by other service staff at other establishments but repeating orders are becoming an S.O.P. I hope they can improve on that.
Nice vegan eating place 🥦🥕🌽
Although pricing could be better, it has very yummy choices!! Meat eaters don’t get turned off till you try- you would be surprised.
The sushi is fantastic and they have vegetarian orh luak!
A good place to go if you are vegetarian. Large menu with mainly Japanese and Italian dishes as well as Korean.
Came here for many times including meals with colleagues and friends. Very sincere staff and great hospitality!
Exceed expectations and craving satisfied
Pleasant dining area. Less crowded especially during this covid season.
Lot of international vegetarian options
All the food is delicious. Recommended. Recommended!
Although it is vegetarian, it tastes like meat. It’s so awesome.
Meals will be clearly labeled with allergens
Such as milk, nuts, etc.
Baked gratin and pizza can be replaced with vegan cheese (+4 SGD)
The clerk is kind and attentive
We asked a lot of questions about the meals
They all helped us inquire and confirm with the kitchen one by one.
The meal is served very quickly
The scrambled eggs in the photo can be replaced with vegan upon request.
Fried Dan made with tofu❤️
The potato balls taste a little greasy😞
