Reviews of Shake Shack 89 Neil Road
Really good atmosphere. The Shake Shack here is really spacious. I came there at around 2pm, so maybe has pass the lunch rush. There is plugs in the table seats, so good for any laptop works. It is really a good place to seat down and relax.
The food is great. Good higher end fast food affair. Love the milk shack. I order the smoke shack shack burger. The dry backn added a good flavor to the typical cheeseburger. A must try.
I loveee the ambience of this place. No queueing at all. A lil bit pricey but worth the taste. The only burger that I can order is just the vegetarian one but they nailed it! I would go for the strawberry milk over and over again
Located just opposite of Mondrain Hotel/ about 250m from Outram Park MRT.
Great ambience, and dining experience
I felt Neil Rd's menu were more extensive as compared to Jewel. Prefered the dining experience here as compared to Jewel too.
Staff that took our order was patient & kind enough to explain when we asked further.
Chicken bites, say no more. Bites of happiness.
Cheese fries taste the usual you'd expect from SS.
As usual, the mushroom patty in the Shack Stack is juicy, cheesy but oily as well.
Not encouraging y'all to hog seats during busy periods, but there are electrical sockets here too.
The dog bun tore apart when I picked it up. Bacon was sinfully done well.
Tried the Singapore Exclusive 's Pandan Shake. Too sweet for my liking. Even tried diluting it to no better. If we have a less-sweet option it'd be perfect. Else I better stick to my Fifty/fifty.
Common Man Coffee frozen custard was a little sweet. However still manageable. You get a nice creamy coffee shake which would do justice on a hot day.
Would be back again.
A chillax place to meet up with friends and chat for hours. Not crowded during a Monday evening when we patronised the place. We sat there at least for 2 hours to eat and chat.
No combo meal, all à la carte. I ordered a special burger (I think it's white truffle burger) that costs $14 and a packet of fries. Total about $17, I think. Burnt a hole in my pocket so gave a 4 stars for food
(I believe a burger, fries and a drink will cost $20 or more)
No sure about wheelchair accessible as I remembered I have to climb a few steps to reach the entrance (there are 2 entrances though).
The store here has the most different vibe from other outlets. The store is quite spacious & the decor is different from other stores.
The seating is only indoor, there are quite a lot of tables with various capacities, from 2 people to large capacity.
After ordering & paying, they will give you a beeper to show when your order is ready.
My order:
* Pandan Shakes
You can really taste the pandan flavour, to the point that the bitter taste of the leaves is there, you can taste the coconut flavor too. Topped with shredded coconut & chopped brown sugar.
Service is quite fast like fast food in general. The staff is moderately friendly.
The classic beef burger is a must to try, popcorn chicken is nice to share but the portion is abit small for big groups
Our first time at shake shack. The portions are not large. But the food is delicious.
This store is housed in a heritage house. It is spacious.
It was quite crowded during lunch time. After the lunch crowd left, it was quieter and I felt very relaxed.
3.25 ⭐️ - Clean modern space and menu has big variety. We tried the;
🍟Cheese Dog - Unfortunately was underwhelming and lacked flavours
🍟 Hot Chicken Burger - burger was succulent, the chicken cooked just right, retaining its juiciness and flavor. It had a nice kick to it
🍟Cheese Fries - A heavy option so would recommend sharing. The fries were smothered in a rich cheese sauce that was indulgent
🍟Pandan Shake - super thick and heavy. The pandan flavor, paired with a hint of coconut, was both unique and delicious. It's a must-try for anyone who enjoys rich creamy shakes
Spacious and fantastic ambience, nice setup. Came mainly for the coffee shake. Slurp!
Burgers are smaller than average but good quality - freshly prepared, nicely presented, full of flavour, and keeps you wanting more. Crinkle cut fries are yummy when hot and crispy, made perfect when paired with the cheese sauce.
The hot dog is not bad too, shakes are thick and creamy. My favourite go-to being the coffee shake. You'll feel sinful after having a meal here, but it is worth it once in a while.
Decor is youthful, tropical, and modern, making it a lively and spacious backdrop to enjoy your meal in.
Consistent quality and cleanliness. Love the vanilla shake, a little rich after a while but delicious. Patty is juicy and tender.
Only critique is the staff attendance, slow and not very responsive. Toilets are a little aged and dirty too.
The place is super clean and modern, like an apple shop :) food was awesome again, may be better than at Changi. Shroom burger for $10.80 is the best and not just for vegetarians. Had the cheeseburger before, you must get the double cheeseburger its the one to get but pretty ex at $12.70! Fries are ordinary think Five Guys are better. Tried the salted caramel shake but nothing special, the fifty/fifty drink was also ordinary. The burgers are great and saved the day!
Eaten at this location around 3-4 times. My first visits were during the weekday lunch rush and service was slow but I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt as it was super busy. However the burger I ordered was super dry and lacked that classic melting in your mouth flavors that you associate with shake shack. Again benefit of the doubt with this on my first visit but after eating at this location several times I’ve had the same experience even on slow weekends. There is also no self ordering screens so you have to order with a staff and sometimes they are not there. You would expect this to be standardized but the food is very different compared to other locations.
Overall service is slower than what it should be in comparisons to locations like Jewel or orchard as well as burgers are very dry.
Atmosphere helps this location a lot though!
First time having Shake Shack in SG (18 Dec, after 4pm)
Love their Shrooms burger + truffle fries (the caramelized onion garnish is very yummy - they can consider onion rings next round🙏🏻). Chicken bites...finger licking good!
We met a really really good server in this branch at Neil Road. He knew we were first time here, introduced the menu patiently, specialty of the branch, checked on us twice, first with the seats and later with the food! He even reminded us to keep the safe distance away from other diners (Honestly I seldom hear this reminder). Overall experience excellent! 😁
My second time trying this fast food outlet in Singapore. I must say price wise, it's cheaper than in Europe. Taste wise definitely comparable. What I especially like about this outlet is the cleanliness and the efficiency of the staff.
Ordered the mayo sambal double beef burger, fries, and their in house beer. Beef, though well done, did not taste hard. Flavors melded well with all the other condiments. A tad bit salty though. The fries were just the right consistency, not over fried and not too salty. Sambal sauce goes well. The beer is just.... Beer though. Good to order to relax after a day's work. Will come back again for the milkshake!
Visited this Shake Shack outlet for drinks and dessert. With the exception of the unique murals, the menu and most items on it are identical to those of the other outlets. The service and ambience should also be very familiar if you are a Shake Shack fan. The Eye of the Tiger concrete was exceptional and tasted very local!
This was my first time eating at shake shack it was delicious, especially the coffee shake!! Quick friendly service.
Second time at this outlet. I really like the interior of this place, spacious and designed with touches of Singapore, be it the wall murals or the old-school shutters.
Ordered the relatively new menu item - dark meat hot chicken burger with fries. The patty tasted different from your usual McDonald's McSpicy. A tad more sophisticated in terms of taste. Just wished it was more spicy. The crinkle fries are good as usual. Will probably revert back to the regular menu items in my next visit.
Great burgers. Great shakes. You just gotta pay the price for it. An arm, a leg, and a few rounds around the track.
March 2022 update: Sad that they've removed Peanut Butter shake from their menu. Other flavours are still available.
The cheese burger tastes good. But the size is relatively small for such price. Worth only if you'd like to dine in and enjoy the spacious & clean seating area with your friends
Over-rated in my opinion.
Arrived at 1230pm on a weekday. While there was no queue to order, all tables were taken up and was difficult to get a seat. Thankfully we managed to get one before our buzzer buzzed.
As a group of 4, we ordered the hotdog, double patty burger, shroom burger and single patty burger. The shroom burger was the most popular while the normal burger tastes like McDonald’s burger.
Overall would not make a trip down specially.
Easily one of the best Shake Shack branches out there (and I’m looking at you 🇺🇸). Good food, good service, impeccable ambience. Even the hand washing station is so nice. Always enjoy being here.
Shack Burger was smaller than expected for almost 10 dollars. The Las Vegas Shake Shack burger was bigger for sure.
However, these SG Shake Shack beef burger patties were juicy & ‘special’ shack sauce was not overwhelm or messy. Lettuce & sliced tomatoes were fresh 👍🏼. Bun was not toasted, soft & so-so. Rated it 7/10 cos of puny size.
Fries were wavy cut-fries or crinkle cut. Cheesy was way too salty. Rating 7/10.
Order taker was not naturally helpful as expected. Told her it is our first time there. So when ordering the milk shake, she kept saying choose 1 flavour. Despite requesting for vanilla & chocolate combo. After I insisted that other reviewers had this twin flavours, she finally just punch “Vani/Choc Milk Shake” order. Furthermore she did not inform us that the cheese could be in a separated in a dipping cup. C’mon Shake Shack, need to have better service oriented staff at the order counter. There were no queue as it was a Monday night past 8 o’clock.
Perhaps next visit I will try the plain beef hotdog and chicken burger. And home brew ice tea or the half & half lemonade & home brew tea. Then maybe it will be 4 or 5 star experience? (Hopeful 🤞🏼)
Ambience is nice. Clean & neat. Have an automatic hand washing machine that was convenient located past the pick-up counter.
One good thing is the packaging is mostly earth friendly, that is non-plastic wrappers, wooden fork-like sticks for lifting the fries, paper containers, boxes & carrier bags.
Would be better if the ketchup and mustard containers were like those at Shake Shack Las Vegas, tiny paper cups about 2 oz (50 ml) sauce paper cups.
For the price of their entry level burger at $9.20. IMO, it would be better if the packaging uses less plastic. For example, the Belgian beer was in plastic cup. The milk shake cup was paper but the lid & straw is plastic. LV Shake Shack straw was paper based.
Overall there was more paper packaging than the other fast food joints. Like the wooden fork-like skewers that came with fries. So pricing for ambience, alot of paper packaging and its beef & milk are non-growth hormone produced.
Really nice location and building.
Big space inside. Great spot for your favourite burgers and fries. Shake shack burgers are way better than the normal fast food chains! Glad we can enjoy it here in sg.
They have the new chicken burger at this branch. Great that they have temperature check etc at this time. Same issues, looks for tables is hard. Hence you see the queue forming v fast. So guess if you guys going, one go order, while the other look for table.
Certainly the best shake shack in SG. More than the furnitures, the burgers tasted better than the ones in other outlets. Pretty spacious though it's covid season.
Bonus is that every table has a plug as well so if you're running out of juice, there's a quick fix. Not much to talk about the food as it's consistent.
I still say shake shack over in-n- out anytime! Cannot go wrong with the SmokeShack because BACON! I'm of the opinion we should ban pickles from all burgers - its cherry peppers or nothing!
The vanilla shake hit the spot too!
Oh, and such a lovely setting in an old conservation building. Very spacious layout and high ceilings. And i love love love the hand cleaning station! You thought of everything Shake Shack!
Thought it would be crowded but it seems like the shake shack hype has finally died down and there was plenty of space and no queue. Came to try the limited edition (til 31 oct iirc) NY steakhouse burger with sauteed portobello mushroom, fried onions and horseradish peppercorn mayo!
It was my first time having shake shack and I don't think the patty nor the bun were anything to shout about? Honestly a little underwhelming lol. The mushrooms and the onions were delicious and the sauce was also great... if only it was spread evenly bc half of the burger had no sauce and I was literally over there licking the wrapper to get more sauce.
All my friends raved about the cheese fries but it's ok laa I prefer the kfc cheese fries tbh. Also got the guava lemonade which was surprising good, but I would say go for the smaller size bc it is actually quite sour and not something you can keep sipping on lol.
My total bill was 23.40 but I guess fast food =/= cheap food these days HAHA.
Really really crowded (as expected with a new food joint) but managed really well by the staff. Food wise, it's really delicious and the burger hits the spot. The beef patty used was tender and juicy. Price wise, not something I would pay for unless I crave it again. Portion wise, not huge or anything and for that price you can be really filled at MacDonald's. Still a must try for those who hasn't been there before!
Thoroughly enjoyed the Smokeshack and their Shroom burger. Love the chicken bites and crisscut fries too. Place is spacious and has a nice ambience for a fast food restaurant. Will be back!
Just like any other shake shack, the food here was great and definitely up to expectations. Their cheeseburgers were tasty, perfectly melted cheeseburgers blended well together with the juicy patty and fragrant buns. Their vanilla milkshakes were thick and creamy as usual. We tried the roasted garlic fries which had a very strong garlic taste, great for those who love garlic.
Its my first time trying Shake Shack but at their new outlet near Neil road.
Order their ShackBurger(single) and Chick n Shack...
The ShackBurger patty is really Tender,Juicy and with their Soft burger bun. Tasty!
Their Chick n Shack chicken breast is perfectly fried.. ooohh yummmy...
The serivce is fast but a little wait for the collection of your food.
Lovely Environment which is big and spacious
Will come back to visit again...
The headlines dominating burger maker! The burger is freshly made upon your order, so when you get it you will get it with juicy stakes inside and a bit smoke smell around it - like the steak just came off the grill. The IPA is the typical seasonal one which is quite hoppy and light, making it a perfect companion to your burger! If you are a burger lover, this is a place you shouldn't miss out. PS: There is one woman, who wears strong and terrible smell perfume, sitting next to me. I bet she got that from some 2nd hand market at 5 dollars, if not cheaper. This is one universal rule, don't wear any strong perfume when you dine in. Otherwise you would disrupt other customers' appetite, when you appear in front others like a street girl...
Beautifully renovated with high ceiling in a chick colonial style building. Came with high tech washing counter tt looked like a drinks dispenser!
First time having their burgers. Crinkle cut fries were crunchy n well done. Burgers were so so, beef patties were thin n not juicy.
Staff got e orders wrong n immediately changed it. Even offered free chocolate ice cream, great service recovery effort!
Would come by again to hv the chicken burger as it looks not bad.
Great smile from service staff
Food was good decent enough though price a little high
Great atmosphere
Shakes! Well, expecting the shakes to be thicker and perhaps served in a glass (with better presentation).
* Chocolate shake taste: it's ok. Parts of chocolate not properly blended well, so there was chunks of gooey choc syrup when drinking.
* Smokeshack burger: it was ok. Didn't like the unique taste of cherry peppers. Perhaps it's just me that dislike spicy but love the smokiness of the burger style.
* Ambience: felt like i walked into a different country. Love the surrounding and deco.
27/10/22:
* Have to wait quite long before anyone at the cashier
* Burger patty saltiness very uneven. One part eaten super salty 😖
* Ordered the shake too, but server repeated and never keyed it in. Oh well. That's how well the service is on weeknights.
* From this experience, maybe will not return to this outlet.
First time having Shake Shack, and I’m honestly very impressed. I’d rate it higher than In N Out, but maybe not quite as good as Five Guys. The burger was tasty, but their sauce really is what elevated it. I also tried the pandan shake which is an SG exclusive, and it was decadent. Only disappointment was the cheese fries, which I heard a lot about but were just... cheese fries. Can’t give the place 5 stars because the line to get in is ridiculous. Waited about 40 mins for a 2pm late lunch. Figured it was fine to wait once, but unless that line goes down I doubt I’ll come back. Shame though, because the burger really was super good.
Excellent food quality. Last time I had it was several years ago in Dubai. Here in Singapore it's even better as you can add a glass of wine!
Was there at 12.45pm for lunch + birthday celebration. Gentleman at cashier was super helpful to offer to help store our cake in the fridge! And also, disposables for our enjoyment of cake. Didn’t manage to catch your name, but thank you. You really made my day!! I was really scrambling quite last minute for a place. Other crew members who helped me includes the lady who helped to take out the cake for us. ❤️❤️
Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
For someone who loves cheese, the amount of cheese on the fries is not enough. Will be back again to try other burgers.
Love Shack Burger, fries and shakes here. Patty is nicely made, juicy and tasty meat. Nice fries -Just wish they have better chilli sauce.
Tried different shakes flavour (vanilla, strawberry, salted caramel and commonman coffee) and they're all nice!
One of the less busy branch of Shake Shack. Nice interior and good ambience.
Food pricier than usual fast food chain but it's worth it.
Had my go-to SmokeShack burger which did not disappoint. However, I would personally avoid the Singapore-exclusive Pandan shake as it is cloyingly sweet coupled with too strong of a Pandan taste, and I will stick to my go-to shake flavour of strawberry the next round. Nicely decorated and well-maintained place, which creates a great atmosphere to dine in.
My second attempt of having Shake Shack. Quite overrated anyway. The burger was not too bad but is abit on the dry side (As you can see from the image), but the price is quite pricey for a fast food chain. Overall I think there are way better places to eat burger at a decent price. Nice ambience at Neil Road outlet.
This place is usually crowded. Very hipster place, very good for social media photos. Food seems okay. Milk shake is good. Very interesting and up to date drinks and food that will interest the public too.
Minimum budget : 40 SGD for 2
Food: 4/5
Ambience : 5/5
Hygiene : 4/5
I loved the ambience, hygiene and food here. It has instagramable seating area, beautiful installations.
Brand new branch and a good alternative to the Shake Shack at Jewel. Visited on a Saturday afternoon but the queue was not too long, though it was a little crowded. Nonetheless the food was simply delicious (though a little expensive), and the place was clean, well designed and nice.
Wasn't impressed with the burgers despite the hype. The fries were good when eaten warm. A popular casual place for catch-up with friends/colleagues.
good environment, nice interior design and seat arrangement.
Food wise is average and no surprise, just normal burger and not impress.
Dining in at 4pm, no queue and 10mins waiting time for food.
great spot to get some burger n chill for a while
Dined in with my family & we ordered 3 burgers, fries & drinks.
I think the burgers were a little bit on the smaller side for the price…drinks were also a bit expensive to me 😅
Fries too salty & we were busy trying to shake the excess salt off.
Nevertheless the meal was pretty ok & we did have an enjoyable time there
Long queues but good food at decent price - consider ordering take away to skip the queue. The shakes and frozen custard are too heavy for my taste, but the burgers, fries, and hot dogs are good. The buns of the shack burger can be a bit too greasy, though - could cut the amount of butter spread on them
This building looks heritage. Cheese fries are yummm.. My shroom burger is ok, but portion abit small. The Christmas shake is ok, sweetness is acceptable.
It might not be known for its ice cream—just classic flavours vanilla and chocolate after all—but that’s the thing: Shake Shack’s ice cream is a best-kept secret. For just $4.80 a single scoop, you get a BIG humdinger of a single scoop! It’s almost the equivalent of two scoops at other ice cream places. And it checks all the right boxes: rich flavour, density, and perfect for sharing.
The Double ShackBurger was not bad. The small lemonade tasted fine but had a bit too much ice.
I'm giving this place 5 stars and it is not yet open. I'm just glad there is another burger place for expats to enjoy in Singapore. It's located in the central place where all the good foods are located. Shake Shack have decent burgers that is going to make a lot of Americans feel like back home. I can't wait for a greasy burgaaaaa! Yeah!!!
Could have been an awesome experience if they had allowed those who buy first to be entitled a seat, and not reserve seats when they haven't buy anything yet.
The burgers are great but their fries are quite average. Nice to try when they're not too busy, but not worth queuing for.
Burgers are always same top quality and presentation. Ingredients taste fresh and clean. I think the fries need improvement as they dont have much potato.
Would recommend the ShackBurger or SmokeShack (not in this pic) instead of the ShackStack (in this pic). The ShackStack were too heavy due to the deepfried portobello mushroom. If you’re a fan of it or just want to try it all in one bite then order it if not stick to the original ShackBurger. The juicy beef patty and the toasted flavorful burger bun gave this a 4 stars rating. If you’re a fan of mcdonald’s skinny crispy fries you probably won’t like the fries here. Overall I will still come back again for the delicious ShackBurger (just have to endure the long queue).
Second branch of Shake Shack I've visited. The pastel colours of the layout is mesmerising to look at and the food is delicious.
Food yum as usual, service slow as usual... would be much better if it was faster but I've gotten used to it haha
The food is decent, service is good. Open space, thus a bit noisy, but acceptable. A great place for friend's catch-up.
Burgers are great just like the other outlets we visited and very comparable to what you get in the US. Only thing that was a little off was their fries. It looked like they had some extra thick coating on them which we all agreed was unusual. We’ve eaten a lot of SS but this was the first time we noticed the fry issue. Will probably avoid this location but overall still a tasty meal.
We visited Shake Shack on a Sunday afternoon. Surprisingly enough there was no queue at the time. The place is quite spacious so you can enjoy your meal without elbowing someone on the next table.
We ordered the 'shroom burger, the chicken burger, cheese fries and the salted caramel shake. I liked the chicken burger more than the mushroom one. The cheese fries were a bit soggy but tasted alright. The salted caramel shake was definitely the highlight of our meal. It was extremely thick, delicious and had hit the right balance between the saltiness and the sweetness of the caramel. Burgers are slightly pricey but the shakes are fairly priced given how amazing they taste. I would definitely go back for their shakes!
You can't go wrong with shake shack. The burgers are always good and for the price point, it's quite a great burger.
Love love love the commonman coffee milkshake and also how the menu has Singapore only items.
This outlet also looks really nice with greens and local artist works within and outside the building. A great place for a fast meal or even to chill withe friends over beer and burgers.
really good service and good food!! recommend the shackburger :) decor is super nice too
The door crew at Neil Road are superb! They’re generally happy and keep the mood light whether you’re waiting to get in to order food or waiting for delivery pickup. Ask them for recommendations if you’re unsure what to get, very lively bunch (the cashiers can be a bit blunt if the q is snaking). 🙃 also Shake shack has the best fries in town! I enjoy the chicken burger and mushroom burger too! Ps to the very polite young man at the door today, many thanks for keeping my keys 😄
Great vides with nice ambience.
Keong Saik Road store is also listed in the guidebook. Shake Shack can be found anywhere, but this store is housed in a traditional building. It was spacious inside and the interior was nice.
As you walk around this area, you can discover stylish cafes and wall art. Keong Saik Road is a great area for walking around town.
It seems to be available in Japan as well, but this was my first time in Singapore. I think the price is reasonable for a delicious burger. It was even more delicious than I expected. There seem to be several stores, but this one has a stylish building and I'm glad I came to this location.
shake shack
When it first opened in Hong Kong, I had to queue for about an hour and a half to get it.
Shake shacks in Singapore are almost empty.
I ordered a smokeshack burger double. The beef inside was so substantial that it was almost too much for one person to finish. It was super filling.
Their main cheese fries seemed average to me last time, so I ordered the normal fries, which were much tastier than those at many traditional fast food restaurants! push!
The store is very big and easy to take pictures. The neighborhood is also very convenient for shopping.
My very first time having time having shake shack! Probably the best chips i’ve tried so far (so crispy and mala dip was 👌👌👌)
The burgers were okay (secretly expensive lol). Let's go back and eat laksa haha.
Delicious burger But there are a lot of queues. The stir-fry is fresh and crispy. When you eat the burger with crispy vegetables, it's many times more delicious.
Not bad burgers but neither exceptional and the rest of the food a bit average but still ok
Delicious burger 🍔 but other food not so good
Always know what you will get with Shake Shack and this one is my favourite due to the space and the historic building
Very disappointing. While I like the general vibe here, it gets so busy and gross. The burgers are also nothing special. They are small and don't offer much at all. Hans I'm Gluck had a way better. Where they do shine here is the shake. The exclusive drink they have here is the Pandan shake.
I mean, it’s shake shack. Fast food burger joint with high quality and consistency
If you are a big eater, go for the double patty as each patty is pretty small.
This branch has the nicest interiors so far
