Reviews of Shang Palace
Beautiful setting and ambience inside the restaurant that sets the scene for a delicious meal. The entire restaurant is color themed in red which makes it stand out, but the decor is nice with nice spaced out tables.
Peking duck is a must do and the dish of the day for us, deliciously roasted, crispy and succulent which was served in two ways. All the dim sums we tried was innovative, fresh looks but tasted wonderful and every time we ate a dim sum we were pleasantly surprised by how inventive and delicious they were.
Service was another highlight, trained meticulously by the Shangri La team. Have good food recommendations, served with a smile and quick response throughout our meal.
Overall a great fine dining Chinese restaurant with delicious food and wonderful service.
Excellent place to take your future / current parents-in-law, or have family gatherings!
The peking duck is a must whenever we are here, but save some space for their unique dessert selection too!
The ambience and vibe of the restaurant was sort of ‘faded glory’ like and the food was a mixed bag.. the sweet and sour pork and congee were major disappointments (have had better ones at food courts)
The saving graces were the fact they used good quality prawns in the main dishes and the vegetable dishes were also very good. The other dim sum we ordered were really just average but nothing special. Even the Chinese tea is just clumsily thick. This place needs a revamp
I’ve been coming here for the last 15 years. Can’t recommend this place more! Perfect for families, dates and friends
Had dim sum lunch at Shang Palace.
What's amazing is that you're able to customize the number of pieces of dim sum according to the number of diners. E.g. ordering 2pcs of each dim sum item, instead of sticking to the default quantity of 3pcs.
Some of the dim sum looked aesthetically pleasing. However, I felt that plating could be improved/varied more.
The taste was on point: Dim sum all tasted objectively good but not particularly impressive. Ingredients were extremely fresh, you could tell from having the har gao.
Service was extremely attentive and pleasant.
They were awarded Michelin one star for the past two years. The ambience and service were good. I enjoyed their Tim Sum, they were fresh, delicious and creative.
Very nice dining experience. Food and service was excellent especially by Lucky and Kelvin. Price was reasonable for a 5 star hotel. We were celebrating a friend’s birthday and they provided a whole chocolate cake.
One Michelin-stared Chinese restaurant within Shangri-La Hotel. Extensive cantonese menu including top dim sum favorites and other cantonese classics. The interior is oriental, classic and homely. Perfect environment for a Chinese fine dining meal. Peking duck was really well done and portion is very reasonable. Love the porridge, XO Carrot Cake, Salted Egg custard Buns and steamed Chee Cheong Fun or rice flour rolls. Prices are on the higher side as expected but the top quality dishes totally makes up for it - expected nothing less coming from their >50 years of heritage. Only slight disappointment is the egg white with parma ham dish
combination which didn’t really sit well with most of us with the contrast and blend in taste.
Would love to credit and call out Mei Loke for her excellent service, attentiveness and patience in serving us throughout. Fully impressed by her customer service and professionalism. Parking coupon available upon request. Private room also available for special occasions or a more quiet setting.
Quality of dim sum at Shang Palace is tops. Whether it is a light meal or a corporate lunch, Shang Palace does not disappoint. Ambience, service and food quality meet expectations consistently.
In addition to dim sum, we ordered Braised Ee-fu Noodles with Wild Mushrooms and Black Truffle Oil. This was very tasty and elevated the typical ee-fu noodles to a whole different level. Goes to show that simplicity can be exceptional.
I had a delightful experience dining at this exquisite restaurant. The dishes are creative and incredibly delicious, with the curry Boston lobster accompanied by fragrant turmeric rice standing out as a particular highlight.
If you're in the mood for delicious dim sum, wok-tossed stir fry, and succulent seafood, look no further than this fantastic restaurant. From the moment you step inside, you'll adore the cozy ambiance and welcoming decor. The attentive servers transform a simple meal into a memorable experience, and the talented chefs deliver an explosion of flavor that will leave your taste buds wanting more.
The food menu is extensive, featuring both classic and modern dishes, all handmade with the freshest ingredients. Every bite is a treat, with savory and sweet varieties filling your palate with delight. Don't miss out on the steamed shrimp in pepper, Wagyu beef, and the beautiful egg tarts. Besides that, the restaurant also offers a wide range of Cantonese dishes, from roasted meats to seafood specialties.
The steaming hot dishes from the wok are a particular highlight, with the chefs masterfully balancing each ingredient for the perfect texture and taste. Seafood lovers will relish the fresh lobster, crab, scallops, and fish cooked to perfection with delicate Cantonese flavors. And of course, no Cantonese meal would be complete without a bowl of rice, and the restaurant offers steaming bowls of fried rice, congee, and other rice dishes.
In summary, Shang Palace is a must-visit for those craving authentic cuisine with mouth-watering dishes and an atmosphere that engages all of the senses. A fantastic place to enjoy a meal with loved ones or celebrate a special occasion. I highly recommend it to all foodies.
Have been frequenting here for CNY with my partner’s family yearly since 5 years ago.
Food has been always good and consistent, exquisite taste. Service always impeccable.
Had dim sum this year with handful of dishes as my father in law loves the braised oysters and mushrooms with black moss.
Love their rendition of rice cake where there were 3 different flavours of rice cake made into a kuek like dessert; black glutinous rice, pumpkin and usual rice cake flavour which is the taste of roasty caramelised sugar.
Reservation is a must as they’re usually full.
food is exquisite. prices are on the high side but it’s expected. definitely get the cod fillet w soy sauce, roast pork belly and mini egg tarts. & dimsum - u already know 🫡🫡
the chicken with glutinous rice is a dish that will be remembered. this restaurant has a lot of other memorable dishes and with prices that are not exorbitant.
Good service, new dishes added. The ambience was updated some months back. Went for lunch dim sum, quite disappointed with the entree Beef Satay, completely not what I was expecting. The char siew pastry and Yam pastries are nice.
Su Lan, our server is attentive, quick to response and took care of many details on the service.
Sitha, the Sommelier, came to attend to us in view of our 1995 bordeaux wine bottle service. All the team work together to make this a memorable dining experience. Thank you Shang Palace team!
I went there for diner and ordered a course menu which was not commonly ordered. We paired it with a fancy champagne and it went very smoothly with the food. I will visit again for diner and the service can be a bit better because the food was served rather slowly.
Had a pre CNY “lohei” lunch here.
Was so surprised that the small “yusheng” cost more than the lobster noodle!
2 dishes were outstanding though, the sweet potato buns & red rice rolls.
Lobster noodles was delicious too but other dim sum items were so so only.
Relaxed and quiet ambience. Not too a fan of their amuse bouche but dim sum items were all executed well. Cheong fan skin was translucent sand melted in the mouth. Was curious about the quail soup but it was a little underwhelming. We will be back!
Service with certain Staff was good but an odd one inexperienced !
Dim Sum as usual was Great !
Due to Staycation Promo we were distracted with the Noise from the Kids next table !
So best to come again with a bigger group for a VIP Room !
Dimsum was delicious with good ambience. We were served by Su Lan, who was attentive to our needs and advised us on the selection available. It was a great dining experience!
Loved the peking duck. Ambience was very nice as well. Beautiful decor. Good service. Staff all friendly.
Great experience, as they gave us a room for 10 of us, the kids love the peking duck, dim sum was great too
We are repeat customers. For the month of April, they have a promotional appetizer for $28 which is absolutely fantastic. Highly recommend ordering this. They really should make this $28 appetizer part of the regular menu. There is also an $88 promotional set menu for April. Service here is commendable, it’s consistently great. We were served by May, Tuiling and Fish, and they are always so accommodating to our special dietary requirements.
A great meal, although prices have gone up a lot in recent years. Enjoyed chatting about wine with Harry and nice service from wing and Rebecca
Amazing food and service provided by Eric, Pauline , Tui Ling and Teddy. Despite being so busy on a friday evening, they’re still being very attentive to each and every single pax
Very good service from May and Miky. Food was superb, expected nothing less from Shang Palace. Good vegan options too.
Loved the food ans the sommelier Harry managed to make the experience extremely unique- very happy and grateful
What more can I say ? Shang palace and Manager Ms Wing Chun sets the service standards! The restaurant atmosphere is beautiful ! The dim sum is highly recommended and for me , it is one of the best in town ! The Shangri-La hotel lobby coming in to the Shang palace is stunning with its high ceilings and new decor! A great place to entertain your VIP guests !
Exquisite dining with tastefully crafted delicacy 😋! Good ambience with excellent service!
Had lunch today, food was good & service was impeccable.
Absolutely divine dining experience! Shang Palace exceeded all my expectations. The ambiance was elegant, the service impeccable, and the food was simply outstanding. Each dish was expertly prepared, bursting with authentic flavors and beautifully presented. En Yi was also very attentive to our needs throughout the dinner experience. I highly recommend Shang Palace for anyone looking to indulge in exceptional Chinese cuisine
Nice enviroment, service not very attentive,Tim sum so so and pricing on the high side.
Beyond the culinary delights, the service at Shang Palace is impeccable. The staff's attention to detail and their deep knowledge of the menu elevate the dining experience to new heights. Whether you're seeking recommendations or have dietary preferences, the team at Shang Palace ensures that your dining experience is tailored to perfection.
It's our second visit few days ago really enjoyed dinner at Shang Palace. We had tomato beef fried rice, sweet & sour pork , peking duck and mango sago for dessert. I would say 85% of the food dishes are top to the mark. Most outstanding is Ms Wing Chen(assistant manager) and her team. Especially thanks for her recommendation for my wife having gluten free and help to roll our crispy duck. Lastly, she also offer refreshments and replenish of hot tea for us. Very enjoyable experience. Will be back for more. Cheers!
Great food but the experience is just outstanding! Chris was wonderful
Decent food. Great service
Best food experience I've had in Singapore. Well done.
Gluten free and vegan too. Beautiful. The mushroom clear soup was the best
They just change the new menu, still maintain the high standard of quality and services.
Wonderful lunch
Staff were very courteous and service is excellent
We are golden circle member and have been supporting Shang group worldwide.
Indeed you have trained your team well and please send our compliments to the staff!!
Enjoyed the dimsum here over a weekday lunch and I can see why they were pretty crowded - the quality is good, the restaurant isn’t noisy despite it being quite filled and the service was good too. We liked that the tables were quite spread out which is something you don’t often find in other Chinese restaurants!
As we were a group of 5, we managed to try quite a number of dishes. Even though most of the portions are for 3 pax, the size of each dimsum is pretty big so we could share it. The ones that we really enjoyed were the glutinous rice stuffed with minced pork (in the shape of a pear), the harkow, cheong fan, crispy white bait, roast pork, charsiew sou and charsiew bao. We also tried the scallop porridge which was super flavourful. The only dish we felt was a little underwhelming was the radish cake with xo sauce. It smelt really appetising but the taste was abit bland/lacking that xo punch. Still, everything else was delicious so we left the restaurant very pleased!
This is one of the few restaurants that served fried deboned chicken/duck with glutinous rice in Singapore. Sadly the buddha jump over the wall was a miss. The boneless quail would be a better choice.
We had dinner at the Shang Palace after our arrival from Switzerland on Saturday Night. An absolute outstanding experience. Delecious - and due to my understading authentic food. The Chef, Mr. Cheung Long Yin Daniel is a true artist. The service by Mrs. Penny Tung Mei Yoke was very attentive, courteous and professional. Amongst the crowd there were many local guests which is always a good sign. I know this restaurant for nearly 40 years now (guess how old I am!). The quality has really improved to its best! Christian
Excellent food and ambience and convenient location!
Lovely dinner, Yummy dessert 🍨!
Nice dinner with friends. Must try if you stay in SG.
One of the few authentic places in Singapore that does Canton dim sum right! Excellent service from Lucky and great ambience. Will visit again soon.
Food is delicious but slow. It took a while to get another dish. Jellyfish starter is a good idea. Very low sodium, almost all of us add cut chillies and soya sauce in every dish we had. Lobster with noodles is not a good choice, hard to remove the meat from the shell. Again, the noodles are tasteless, we have to add soy sauce and cut chili.
Nice enviroment, i like their private dining room
Polished aesthetics, great service but dim sum quality need some work.
Excellent Dim Sum and quality Cantonese food in Singapore. Nice setting
Tasty dim sum esp abalone tarts (on order). Great service by Eric, Rebecca and Lucky
Old favourite of Singaporean families who have been dining there for generations - old favourites like chicken rice in bamboo pot continue to be served and the dim sum is like the hotel - reliable and well made
Good food, nice view, service is fast, best environment to stay
Service and food was exceptional.
Very delightful nd shooting atmosphere with a incredible taste that can attract you from anywhere
Love it 😀 good place to bring your loved ones there to indulge ❤️

Price on the high side.
Consistency prevails
Very delicious. Give it 5 stars. Delicious. Great service. Excellent service.
This Chinese restaurant with a long history, as the first Shang Palace, is 53 years old. The environment and service are first-class. It has private rooms, which is suitable for family gatherings and business banquets. The taste of the dishes is also very good, Shang Palace platter, The golden crab lid and crab risotto are both very good and worth a try👍
Excellent Chinese restaurant, with a Michelin star chef, excellent service, beautiful decoration.
