wholesome and natural tasting fish soup - stall is ran by an elderly couple. Fish is super fresh and saw the uncle slicing the fish by hand himself before serving for those having the steamboat. Had the fresh fish slice soup with thick bee hoon added fish eggs - clean tasting and wholesome. Will visit again with more people so I can order the other dishes - saw a family having the steamed red grouper bee hoon served on tray and it looks really good.

Long time supporter of Shi Zhen Fish Soup. The fish slices are fresh and thick, soup is light and naturally sweet. No MSG, so I can drink the whole bowl of soup without feeling thirsty or having sweaty palms. If you like fish roe like me, can ask uncle if he has fried fish roe. He will only cook this dish if fresh fish roe is available. Do try his 2 homemade chilli sauces too! They both go well with the seafood.

Finished dental appointment and decided to have a healthy tea break. Fish soup without rice seems like a good call. And so I noticed uncle slicing the fish fillets which looks fresh thus decided to try the $5 version. I like the taste of the soup. Mildly sweet and addictive. There’s 8 slices of fish within and I’m not complaining. I can feel that he is doing his best at customer service maybe he just not talented with it. Nonetheless it’s good enough for me to try it again if I’m in the vicinity.

Batang slices fishes are fresh. Soup is normal. Chillis, a bit disappointed, nether here nor there. The uncle was shouting at her wife, I assume? Bad impression ...

Good taste fish soup just close to the toa payoh library,this stall has a few types of dishes like red grouper steamboat,steamed fish beehoon ,lobster beehoon etc..I tried the oyster omelette ,taste not that great but the soups are ok,with a good portion too.

Reasonably priced, very tasty fish soup. Generous with both fish and vegetables. The fish soup is made from dried fish bones so the flavour is rich and flavourful without being too salty or MSG laden. Fish is fresh whether it's fried fish or fish slices you're eating. The sambal chilli is amazing.

Tried the fish soup ee mee with dual fish combi (fish slices, fried and non-fried). THE FISH IS VERRRRYY FRESH!!! 👍👍 You can also try the Tom Yum bowl, or his set meals. He's also on Trip Advisor's "to-eat" list. AMBIENCE: Eating here can be a lively affair (during lunch) or a cosy quiet meal (at dinner, when few stalls are open).
