Reviews of Shixiangge 食香阁 上海生煎包以开始供应
Wow tasty. Will come back for other noodles. Chilli had a bit of spice. Tomato sauce was sweet. With decent amount of egg. 👍
pork bun: good, smash, "almost as good as the meat I get at home", lots of meat, worth the money for the amount of meat $5.50
干捞面: I got the biang biang mian it's p good p chewy I'm happy with the noodles the scallion taste not as strong but still p good $3
红油抄手: ngl its p shit I don't like the filling taste and there is no sauce its just chilli oil if you like that that's for you
zha zhiang mian is average is aite friend said "it's fruity like me 没有咸"
It was a rainy evening so decided to go for something soupy and spicy. Ordered the mala pork intestine & added beef slices. Total damage $12.50 but the portion of beef was CRAZY!! It was so much it could feed 2 pax.
The knife sliced noodles were super chewy & i dammm love the texture. Pork intestine was super soft and the smell was acceptable for me. Definitely will be back to try other items!!
P.s. you can order via the kiosk provided. Not sure if they take cash tho! Ah and also, all their utensils are sanitised!!
Tasty and authentic "la mian" .
I had the 'Mala braised pork la mian' for $7 and added pork intestines for an additional $4.
The braised pork was soft and delicious, but the pork intestines were particularly tender and savoury. I got the spiciest level of broth, and really was quite spicy, although bearable. Good mala fragrance and the texture of the noodles were great (firm and chewy)
Overall good hearty food for decent pricing.
Located on top of Bishan Bus Interchange.
I ordered the tomato egg noodles.
Really tomatoey and generous with the sauce.
Noodles were made just right. Definitely handmade.
Generous portion as well.
They sell other Chinese style cuisine as well.
Utensils were kept under this disinfecting machine which was a really great idea.
Slightly pricier, but still acceptable.
Not the typical red oil dumpling i have tried, too much chives, meat too lean, lacks chewiness and fats, it’s just like the normal pork-chives dumpling drizzled with red oil. Skin isn’t soft and it’s dry.
Nice pork intestine, soft, savoury and flavourful. Got distinct porky umami flavour, not suitable for those who can’t take the smell.
My soup la mian springy texture.
The stall is located on the left of Bishan cafeteria, opposite Juncti8n.
Nubbad, solid 4 star. Not sure why my bowl had chilli in it because I didn’t intend to order any, but I don’t mind terribly. Hearty on a rainy day, salty, with added beef (total $10.50) it was decent. Would return on a cool night but won’t go with la mian as noodle option next time.
Edit: 2nd visit - had the pork intestine (amazing) but not a fan of the mala soup base, it makes it super salty. Tried the shaved noodle too which was pleasant albeit overcooked/too soft.
Even though the food court is hot, i still come here to eat once in a while because the food is so good. The pork is soft and not like rubber, lamian is chewy and the soup and sauce is great🤩 the ro jia mo is great too
Nice place that we found as my partner was craving for la mian.
Food wise it was close to perfect, the beef noodle soup and tomato egg noodles were amazing and affordable. However the spicy dumplings were not as tasty as the mains.
For a coffee shop like this, the service you’re getting here is as good as it gets already, they have machines to take your orders like Macdonald’s, queue tickets with numbers, tissues for you to take, not to mention the cutlery are all in UV light boxes to ensure hygiene. What more can you do at a coffee shop?
Atmosphere is the typical coffee shop feeling you’re gonna get.
Overall a good find, will come back if we get cravings and want to have affordable la mian.
I’ve been frequenting this hawker stall for a while now. My family and I love their food so much. The highlight is their shaved noodles. It has the perfect thickness and chewiness that pairs amazingly well with the dishes they offer. Their chilli oil is also delicious. Damn shiok. You can add as much as you need to satisfy your chilli oil cravings. The food is cheap and so so so good that it’s really difficult to beat.
Do note that their wait time is quite long, being around 20 minutes on a friday night. However, the self-service machine ordering kiosks make the whole process a lot easier.
Pictured below is the tomato egg with shaved noodles and the braised pork with shaved noodles, both of which are absolutely scrumptious. Best beef noodle shop in sg in my opinion (ignore the 2023 food safety scandal)
Ordered no. 2 (炸酱面), la mian portion was a lot, noodle texture was a bit firm. There's some tofu bits in the minced meat sauce and it was very savoury. Overall it's a good and affordable meal. Will be back for other dishes!
Affordable authentic Chinese food 🇨🇳✨
Located above Bishan bus interchange (and just a stone’s throw away from Bishan MRT), this hawker stall is open by an ex-Crystal Jade chef. Been hearing many good reviews of this spot and finally headed down. Here’s what we ordered!
🌟 𝗕𝗲𝗲𝗳 𝗟𝗮 𝗠𝗶𝗮𝗻/𝗦𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗡𝗼𝗼𝗱𝗹𝗲𝘀 牛肉面 ($𝟲)
Opted for shaved noodles 刀削面 (+$1) and didn’t regret! With a nice chewy texture, the shaved noodles is a must try when visiting. You can get it in other variations too, such as with tomato and egg base. Compared to other beef noodles that we’ve tried, the soup broth here is lighter and doesn’t have the gamey beef taste 🍜
Also had the spicy pork dumplings. Generously packed with fillings, these are flavourful and had an extra crunchy bite with the addition of vegetables. Would have loved it with more vinegar 💕
🌟 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗡𝗼𝗼𝗱𝗹𝗲 杂酱面 ($𝟱.𝟱𝟬)
Minced pork mixed with small tofu cubes, the springy noodles also came topped with shredded cucumber for textural contrast 🐷
🌟 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗕𝘂𝗻 肉夹馍 ($𝟰.𝟱𝟬)
Would probably skip this if I were to revisit. Felt that the fillings were too dry and bun skin is too thick.
Overall, this is an affordable option hidden in plain sight. For those visiting, don’t miss out on their knife cut noodles!

You have to place your order at the order board, print the order and then pay at the counter. Check the status of your order from the monitor. Delicious and authentic tasting 刀削面. Pig intestines were well cleaned and cooked. Tender and yummy. They resumed selling the 红油抄手, one of their signature dishes!
Noodles were cooked al dente, broth is rich and the intestines r so thick and flavourful! Prefer the mala broth to the original one. The mala is not too overwhelming and it’s so good.
My family and I came here for the first time to try the la mian. I was expecting it to be quite busy, but there was no queue at around 1PM on Wednesday. The portions were decent and the noodles had a nice texture, though I didn’t care too much for the minced pork topping. My family enjoyed the meal.
I read a lot of positive reviews to this Chinese noodle stall, above Bishan bus interchange, at happy cafe. They are selling authentic noodle food 🇨🇳 北方面食
Came 1145 and no queue yet, ordered by a kiosk next to the stall and paid at cashier hassle free. There are 2 more ordering kiosks on the left wall . Ordering kiosk is easy to use.
1. Place order at ordering kiosk
2. Bring the ordering chit to Pay at cashier
3. Wait for the number to be displayed on screen (like McDonald’s )
4. Collection , take utensils , chili
5. Enjoy
I was impressed by their blue ray sterilizer they used to sterilise chopsticks 🥢 and spoons 🥄. Didn’t see anyone does that in Singapore 🇸🇬 so far! 👍🏻
I ordered a mala braised pig intestines ramen 🍜 $7, one size- regular size. This one of signature must-try dish and fetched many great feedbacks.
At first mouthful 👄 , the noodles was a bit too springy .. i tried the soup , not so spicy but refreshingly sweet, not oily/mala . After slurped another mouthful, the noodles texture was just right and and intestines was very tender , flavourful and big pcs (4pcs in total) authentic and shiok !!
After 30min , the stall were surrounded with quite many patrons.
There are other food like 凉皮, 肉夹馍 $4.50,beef noodle $6 etc
Will definitely come back to try other food
5/5 stars for the quality and price offered. Coffeeshop Environment is my only gripe.
-the knife cut noodles were an additional $1, but they are so smooth with excellent texture (apologies for not taking a pic)
- Sichuan dumpling is tasty, good chives and ingredients with good bite
-all in all a place I will come back for my beef noodles and spicy dumplings!
Great for their la mian (just that the beef for such dishes are usually tough)
Their szechuan dumplings (red chilli chao shou) is fantastic as well! With sauce that screams umami, perfectly seasoned pork and generous in terms of stuffing proportions. I'd like it more if the skin is thinner but that's just me.
Wished I had known of this place sooner, to satisfy my cravings for China style noodle.
I chose to have the optional knife shaved noodle with the mala stewed pork belly. It was as good as, if not better than ones I've had in street side stalls in china. Tender soft stewed belly. Smooth Q noodle. Fiery numbing soup.
Chinese chopped pork humburger was really good.
I found the skin of the red oil dumpling a little thick. But it's filling of seasoned mince pork and sweet cabbage totally dellish.
Definitely coming back.
Very tasty, and value for money at only five dollars a bowl. Albeit taking a long time to prepare. The novelty has worn off at this time, so queues are more sane. Order the braised pig intestine noodles for something spicy, or beef noodles for something more mellow.
Feb 2022. Was famished in a hot afternoon, 3rd day into the new Lunar new year. Tried the beef noodle at $6. It was good. The noodle 拉得好, it was worthy of a restaurant's quality. The beef was tender and the noodle was generous enough to feed a hungry man.
Dec 2021. No food at home, driven to find lunch myself. Always wanted to come to this stall and i drove a bit out of the way to come here.
I ordered 炸酱面 at $5.50 as a safe option and it was really good. The noodle was not those local usuals. The 拉面 was firm and springy. Even my ex-colleague from Beijing swore by its authenticity.
Another point was that the stall was super clean and innovative. The crockeries were kept warm in sanitising closets and they used touch screens for ordering.
It’s around 3-4 * for me. Didn’t rock my world but can understand why people like it. Got number 15 but maybe I should try other things next time.
This took me by surprise. The mala soup base was the real thing - good amount of numbing spice without being actually chilli hot. And in there, chewy hand shaved noodles and braised pork cubes that melt in your mouth.
Only thing is that it is around CBD hawker pricing ($7-8). But tbh, worth the money.
Ordered zha Jiang mian. Probably should try the beef soup noodle next time.
Nice and smooth texture noodle with generous amount of noodle and meat (+$3, for extra beef). Chilli also quite spicy, and well made for all the types of Noodle they served. There is a also cold noodle type for those who like them :)
Tasty pig intestine noodle. The intestines were clean but portion is a bit small for the price. The wait is also a bit long but that’s a given for such a popular store.
Tasty food served here. Ordered number 13 (pig intestine) la mian, less spicy.👍👍👍
Personal opinion is that it is very spicy 😅
3 ordering kisok with various payment method (cash terms, paywave etc).
Effective ordering process 👍
Long time no eat...too big portion...I can't even finish it..taste macam drop jo xiu xiu ler but still acceptable 😋😋😋
Tried 肥肠面 and 肉夹馍.
The quality of food has dropped further which I would say no need to visit purposely.
Service is acceptable and there is an ordering machine at the corner. Quite spacious and convenient to reach.
I was impressed with the availability of ordering kiosks in a coffeeshop. The ordering process was relatively easy and I like that everything was cashless. The cutlery can also be obtained from disinfecting machines. I had the zhajiangmian ($5.50). I enjoyed the springiness of the noodles. The meat sauce was slightly spicy.
Damn Slurps!
Wasn’t expecting such impressive la mian at a hawker centre. Tried the minced meat la mian and the flavour was well balanced! Tried the meat bun as well and was amazing, but I would say this was slightly overpriced at $5. Give this a try if you’re around the area!
My son trying the mala pork intestines noodles... Look very yummy. I get one intestines to try wow... Very soft and spicy. Good food ❤️
Very nice noodles. Just take note, there is additional charge of one dollar if u want their shaved noodle. Else default comes with la mian.
Their utensils are specially sterilized.
Authentic tasting, at reasonable price. Had the claypot mala vermicelli, $6, good portion, generous with ingredients. Order kiosks very efficient. Dining environment can get a bit uncomfortable on bad weather days, getting seats can be challenging during peak hours.
Dabao this mala vermicelli noodles was really tasty and addictive. The tofu skin, soup base, kelp and noodles came together perfectly. After 1 hour I could still sense the mala ma. Yum $5.20 with dabao
Restaurant standard. Though the hot & spicy intestine noodles were a bit on the salty side. Could reduce saltiness by 25%. Still really good though in spite of.
Food here is pretty reasonable and served quite fast (but service could be better) even though there's a queue. I enjoyed the spicy vinegared dumplings and my dark sauce pork noodle! However, I feel that they could be slightly more reasonable. Perhaps $4 instead of $5 would have sealed by 5 star rating.
Went to this stall a few times already..really loved their shaved noodles with tomatoes n eggs. Thought it will be too acidic but surprisingly no..the tomatoes was braised without their skins and cooked together with scrambled-like eggs till it all comes together as one big bowl of a satisfying meal..supercadelicious!
Tried the tomato and egg noodles ($5.50). Comes with many slices of tomato, not alot of eggs. Sauce was sweet and noodle has a firm texture (like Al dente).
Nice bite to the shaved noodles. The dumpling is fresh and juicy. Aviod peak hours!
Generous portion of beef, but la mian was only okay. Tongue Tip and Yi Zun are much better. Not sure about the other dishes. Rou jia mo (肉夹馍) are pork only (no beef or lamb).
Awesome dumpling & knife shave noodles. Dumpling skin was just nice - not too hard nor soft - even when left on the table for some time. Long queue though; so be prepared to wait.
This is a stall that’s just conveniently located above Bishan bus interchange.
For some reason, it hasn’t been easy remembering the name of the stall lol
We ordered 红油抄手 麻辣刀削面
Food is good, although I felt something amiss.
But service was great.
So apparently payment made with a scan of QR code went thru but the order didn’t go to the kitchen. When the stall owner or maybe the staff knew, he took a screenshot of my transaction from the banking app and promised he will refund by end of the day.
And he did!
Impressed by the honesty and integrity displayed here, as I was still doubting a little before I saw the refund in the account 👍
Very legit noodle stall. Their noodles are very chewy and soup is tasty.
The real taste of mala if you’re craving for a taste of China. The pork belly is so nice and soft with no Australian pork smell. Thick fragrant oil and handmade noodles texture is nice! Service is fast because it’s automated. Highly recommended.
Long queue, from the time I started queuing to receiving my bowl of noodles, it’s 40mins. Knife shaved noodles are nice, but the soup is salty. Need to improve on it
Very shiok Mala Fei Chang (pig intestine) shaved noodles. Personally thought that this is their best dish out of everything in their menu. Ordered less spicy but still broke out in a sweat just by looking at the soup. Intestines are well cleaned and they managed to elevate the flavour such that it isn't too fishy and strong but still very yummy. Those who love spicy food definitely have to try this. Think prices have went up, costs more than usual coffeeshop prices but still worth it considering the delicious bowl of noodles.
Had dinner on 26/7/22, my personal favorite shaved noodles place.
Very good quality noodle. No need to have doubts as it always has long queue. Small details like the chopsticks are ultraviolet light germ kill, the upgrade to use self help ordering machine proves this is a thoughtful and good shop. All food items are good, the owner is also friendly. However, there was a lady that is so unfriendly that refused to give us chili when i buy takeaway. Thanks to her i come less now.
The knife cut noodles is so good! Chili oil available to add to your level of spiciness.
This is one of my favourite noodles in Singapore!!! Love the Mala intestine noodles (though be warned the broth is pretty spicy), noodles are also QQ very good texture! Both the knife cut and normal noodles are yummy. Beef noodles isn’t really my thing but I’ll eat the one here happily too. Also, try the meat buns they’re delicious especially when piping hot
Delicious bowl of beef noodle for a really affordable price! Service was fast and I like how they implemented technology to ease the whole payment process. Recommended
Tried some 肉夹馍in 西安and this is quite similar except that the meat taste more like Kong bah pao. The filling is also very generous.
Cheap and good Chinese foods like Zhajiangmian & dumplings. Portions are huge too
Been coming multiple times over the years and the food is consistently good. Love the cold noodles. Choose your spice level carefully.
The shaved noddles quality has dropped. Texture was harder and less smooth. No more thinly sliced radish in the Beef noodle soup. Overall, the taste is there.
Freshly made pulled pork bun was the best when the thin bun is still crispy outside and filled with hot half lean meat. Have to give the claypot mee sua a miss as it was lacking flavour that even their chilli (also lacking) couldn't save it
But will be back to try their other items as they are priced quite reasonably
Meat bun and sze chuan spicy dumplings are pretty good!!
Great value and very QQ! Best hand sliced noodles I have had in Singapore.. Very authentic and the beef and soup are top class also!
Affordable prices for generous servings of high quality noodles. Well known dishes as highlighted online are worth trying. Convenient location, would definitely go back
Very tasty 😋 noodles, I will always come to have a bowl when I was nearby. I miss it sometimes, probably one of most unforgettable food in sg. Highly recommend.
Cheap and good food! Open till dinner.
Notable stalls: Chinese La Mian stall(closed for CNY at the moment); Double boiled soup stall (good variety of food); Vegetarian Stall
Excellent food from the chefs here. Good job well done. Sorry i cant take a photo of the food as i have emptied both bowls.
Fantastic La Mian. Food court price, restaurant quality. The pork bun is a must order as well.
Beef la mian and pork buns
Delicious and value for money.
Excellent traditional home made dumplings and noodles. Very emotional to find the real deal nowadays.
Something different in taste, worth trying if you are adventurous.
Very well done shaved noodles
The rating says it all.
Authentic Chinese beef noodle, juicy dumplings.
Worth a try. Price is lower than most prices
Spicy and delicious!
I am satisfied with the taste of this restaurant. The meat in the roujiamo is also very good. The key is that the taste is the same as that in Xi'an. The bread outside has also become a bit thinner locally but the taste is still online. My special visit is worthy of my visit.
Liangpi is SGD 5.50, it is very authentic and similar to rolled dough.
The Roujiamo S$5.50 has become my favorite.
Fatty sausage noodles for SGD 7.50. Very delicious.
I killed so much in this meal. I was completely full, but I still had more to eat and would come again.
The portion is generous, vinegar and raw garlic are provided, and paper towels are provided for free.
The food court located above Bishan Bus Interchange. It is also very close from Bishan Railway Station.
The shaved noodles are delicious. My favorites include beef noodles, casserole noodles, cold noodles, hand noodles and meat buns.
Big and delicious, well worth a try
Overall very good, highly recommended 👍👍👍👍👍👍
I live nearby and I like to eat his Spicy Fat Sausage Ramen. I love the Hong You Chao Shou. I must order the Roujiamo. I will definitely order it. Although the environment is very hot, it is understandable because it is upstairs at the station. But I still go there because I want to eat.
The price is reasonable and the preparation is quite fast. Convenient and easy to order.
Because there are no takeaways at the branch, you have to go to the store to eat. It is best to eat in dine.
As expected, the noodles are really delicious. Heard the reviews are good so I came to try and indeed live up to its expectations. The noodles are so springy and firm, will definitely come back again.
The noodles are delicious and affordable. The meat buns are just right and the meat is a bit dry.
The taste is authentic, as always👍
But now it is not very friendly to packagers.
One is that you need to complete it yourself, which is understandable for hygiene reasons, but it would be nice if you could help, otherwise it would be a waste of food if the customer spills it because he is unskilled.
Another thing is that it would be nice if they could give you more soup or separate the noodles and soup. Otherwise, even if you are 5 minutes away, you won’t be able to eat the noodles when you get home😢
Sauces, noodles, toppings, meat, everything is delicious. The quantity is also sufficient. Even because they are in love with fat intestines😍🍜the service attitude is also very good, they will check whether the items are wrong or missing every time before giving them to you. Highly recommended.
That beef noodles is so delicious. It’s unbeatable.
