Reviews of Steamboat Charcoal Claypot Prawn @Toa Payoh
Fantastic experience at Woodlands Claypot Prawn@Toa Payoh, Singapore's first and largest halal charcoal claypot prawn hotpot! 🍲 The broth was rich, and the prawns were huge—12-15 big ones in every pot! The free-flow sauce bar added a personal touch to the meal, with lots of flavors to choose from. Plus, free parking and cool fans made the whole dining experience super comfortable. Highly recommended for a unique halal hotpot!
It’s a Halal outlet, great for our Muslim friends. There are more beef options here and even have lamb. Come with more people so you can order more ingredients to share.
Love the fresh prawns, flavourful broth and the sauce selection. My fav is the homemade chili sauce, very spicy!
They’ve also installed huge fans to keep the customers cool while we enjoy our charcoal Claypot. Very thoughtful. There are also ample parking space.
The first time I ate steamboat using charcoal, the presentation was really unique and the prawns here were big and very fresh so it's no surprise that the prawn broth tasted great, there were lots of choices of side dishes including meat, fish, vegetables and other ingredients. The portion is also large for each side. Highly recommended for eating with family or friends 😋
This is Singapore's First and Halal Charcoal Claypot Prawn is must have visit place for you! I really surprised how delicious and rich flavour the broth with big prawns there. Available many side of dishes you can choose from. Free refilling of soup, Free flow sauce bar, Free parking and Big fans there to keep us cooling. You must order there Hokkien Mee, so yummy. No regret at all and would love to come back again. Highly recommend to let you try with friends and family!
I recently visited Woodlands Claypot Prawn, SG's first Halal charcoal claypot prawn restaurant, and it was a fantastic experience! 🥘 This is their third outlet, and it lives up to the hype.
Here's what stood out:
- **Free sauce bar**: A wide variety of delicious sauces to complement your meal.
- **Free parking**: Convenient and hassle-free parking options.
- **Big fans**: They keep the dining area cool and comfortable, even on hot days.
Ordered the claypot and their hokkien mee. Found it quite average only. Given that its prawn speciality, was expecting the prawns to be fresh but sadly it wasnt. U can see in my last few pics the shell was stucked on and the meat was kind of mushy. Kudos that the prawns were huge though.
Hokkien mee was okay, though i dont know the purpose of adding a raw egg. They had many sauce for u to choose so definitely smth suitable for all.
Doubt i will be back though.
My family had a wonderful dinner there, with refillable soup and fresh prawns and the free flow sauce bar, we could create our own sauce blends to go with our dishes. We like the lamb cubes, beef slices and prawn paste. The satay sauce and homemade chilli sauce is so addictive. The huge ceiling fans are awesome! No sweat despite being near the charcoal pot. This place is very popular with our Muslim friends, the coffeeshop was quite packed at dinner time. I guess it’s because this is SG first Halal charcoal Claypot prawn!
We were curious about their claypot prawn, and it turned out to be the best decision! The broth was incredibly flavorful, and we were delighted to find around 50 sides to choose from. The sauce bar was a fantastic addition, allowing us to mix and match according to our preferences.
Plus, their Hokkian Mee is really good!!!
Despite my initial concern about the heat from the manual charcoal, I was pleasantly surprised. The large fans kept us cool, making the meal even more enjoyable. Plus, the free parking was a great bonus.
For those who need to know, this outlet is Halal!
This time round, I brought my dad along too.
As usual, I will order their Hokkien Noodles.
It is damn shiok, very flavourful & generous portion.
It is a must order!!!
Beside than the prawn we also ordered lots of side dishes to add to our claypot. At this outlet, they have mutton!!!
They also have lots of condiments for you to choose from, and they added Nacho Cheese too
The place is very spacious & windy too.
The specialty prawn broth, brewed for hours, is aromatic and umami-rich. Perfect for sharing with 3 to 4 people as each claypot comes with 12 big prawns!
They have more than 30 ingredients to choose from, including chicken shabu shabu and salmon balls with cheese!
They also offer a free sauce bar that boasts over 10 sauces, including interesting options such as Nacho Cheese and Samyang sauce.
We also tried their Hokkien Mee, served in a large bowl that can easily feed two!
Eeyyyyy!
We visited Singapore’s first Halal claypot prawn store and tried their specialty prawn broth and their specialty dish Hokkein mee.
Review:
The claypot prawn broth delivers a rich, flavorful experience. Served piping hot in a traditional claypot, the broth features succulent prawns that are tender and fresh, complemented by a delicate balance of spices and herbs.
The Hokkien mee stands out for its harmony between the savory noodles and tender seafood.
The selection of side dishes and unlimited sauces add an extra layer of variety and enjoyment to the meal.
The branch also offers free parking, unlimited soup refill and has big fans to provide cooling and proper maintain proper air ventilation.

A group of 3 visited on a Tuesday afternoon. Place is airy and equipped with big fans. Service was good and fast. Menu was extensive with lots of choices to cater to different age groups. While waiting for our Claypot to boil up, we ordered their fried hokkien mee. Then I realized this stall offers halal claypot which means the hokkien mee is halal! We cannot tell! It tasted so good with a good amount of wok hey!
The Claypot broth was very flavorful with 12-15 big prawns swimming in the hot soup. The ingredients that we ordered were generally fresh except that I noticed some prawn heads were darkened and 2 of the 4-5 scallops were not quite fresh. I raised with the staff and they were apologetic and offered to replace the items.
First time trying Halal Charcoal Claypot Prawn Hotpot. They have over 30 ingredients to choose and free sauce bar. Each claypot served with 12 to 15 big prawns. The broth is rich and flavourful. Disposable gloves are provided to make the prawn peeling easier!
👍 Singapore first Halal Charcoal Claypot prawn!
The prawn broth is rich in taste, fresh side dish, more than 30 side dish to choose from.
Love steamboat? Try this and you will never regret.
This was my N-time to visit Woodlands Claypot Prawn!!! Coz now this outlet is nearer to me! Super delicious fresh prawn with halal concept. Only need to take bus 238 to reach. Spacious free parking too. Big fan to make sure eat the steamboat with cooling airway. Free flow of sauce, condiment and premium soup.
Loved the generous amount of prawns they give with each claypot! Also really enjoyed their umami prawn broth which went well with the ingredients we chose like enoki mushroom, fried tofu skin and beef (over 40 ingredients to choose from).
Free flow sauce bar and refillable soup too. There is free parking here and really liked that this place is very well ventilated especially when you are having hot claypot soup!
Lots of seats and tables too :)
Awesome broth!!! Even as a non-prawn lover, I LOVE THE BROTH!!! So unique and flavorful. And mild. And comforting. The prawns are huge and generous and fresh. The Hokkien Mee were so good and the portion was huge for 2-3pax to eat! Cool environment, not so cramped and noisy with huge fans above. Will def come back! The sambal kicks and punch too! Free parking.
Found this new hidden gems of SG 1st Halal Claypot Prawns at Toa Payoh. Love the incredibly aromatic and rich prawn broth with generous amount of big juicy prawns. Wide variety of ingredients for add on, including Lamb Shabu Shabu, big scallops and the delicious Hokkien Mee. The portions are generous. Free flow sauce station, free disposable gloves, free refill of soups and free parking as well. Highly recommended to go and try!
Finally singapore have Halal charcoal claypot prawn. Many choices of side dishes. From seafood, meat, vegetables, beancurds/egg, & noodles/rice. Their speciality is Hokkien Mee.
Free sauce bar and soup refills. The place is so spacious, have many seating table & got big fan on top to keep us cooling. So won’t feel hot while eating.
And the place is free parking too.
All ingredients so fresh. The prawn so big. We love the prawn broth so much, rich of flavor.

Third visit and we love the claypot prawn and Hokkien mee!
The claypot prawn is so tender and flavourful, with a hint of smokiness and unami that makes each bite truly unforgettable.
You can’t miss out their famous Hokkien mee! It’s one of the best Hokkien mee I’ve tasted in SG 🤤
There’s also free flow sauce bar & free parking and disposable gloves available!
This resto is a must-try for seafood enthusiasts. Best enjoyed with friends & family.
The prawns are incredibly fresh and succulent, absorbing the rich flavors of the broth. The use of charcoal in the claypot enhances the dish with a subtle smokiness, adding depth to every bite. The broth is well-seasoned, balancing umami and spice perfectly, making it a comforting yet exciting dish. The bumbling soup releasing an aromatic steam that whets the appetite - Its hard to explain, you better try it yourself🤤

This is so good and glad that they opened a Halal outlet, i can bring my Muslims friends here. The broth is so flavourful and the ingredients are fresh!
Dont forget to try their hokkien mee!
3rd outlets of Woodlands Claypot Prawn! This time is a bit soecial coz it's HALAL!
So muslims friends, check this out!
Like the other two locations, they’ve got a free-flow soup and free-flow sauce bar, but here’s the kicker—this outlet includes Cheese Sauce! If you’re a cheese lover, this is your dream come true.
The claypot still comes loaded with 12-14 jumbo prawns, but since we’re all about that prawn life, we just had to add more! 😋 Plus, we couldn’t resist getting a few side dishes to complete the feast.
Don’t miss out on their signature Hokkien mee either. It's bursting with flavor—definitely a must-try! 👍
There’s 12 huge and fresh prawns in the claypot broth, and tastes so thick and good. Over 50 choices of items to pick for your steamboat. Ample parking too.
Portion was generous, seafood was fresh and the broth was perfect. Great for friend/family gatherings! Brought my Muslim friends to try and they enjoyed it!
Having the flavourful prawn broth is so amazingly good. Portions were great too. Comes with free sauce bar and many side dishes to add on, the experience of eating this is just superb. If you are driving, there are free parking available too. So glad that they also other outlets available.
Hokkien mee was a hit among the kids. Many ingredients to choose and add in. Huge prawns is so delicious
Went with family and ordered the Claypot Prawnn Hotpot. We loved it because their ingredients are many and the quality is good.
After ordering, you just need to go back to your table and the staff will bring everything to you.
Staff was helpful with ordering and delivery of dishes. Overall atmosphere was quite lively, with most tables filled with people. Food was delicious, especially the beef shabu shabu which I particularly enjoyed.
Steamboat Charcoal Claypot Prawn at 9 Toa Payoh Industrial Park is Singapore's first halal charcoal claypot prawn~ 🦐
The slow cooking process in the claypot allows the prawns to retain their moisture while infusing them with a subtle smokiness from the charcoal, enhancing their natural sweetness and making them exceptionally tender and flavorful•••
absolutely had a wonderful time feasting yummy spread of foods, customer service was superb! love all the people who works there, not forgetting all the seafood & meat are FRESH! 🥰
Nice prawn claypot. Soup tasty, prawns relatively fresh. Hokkien mee is delicious.
This is Woodlands Claypot Prawn’s third outlet and their only halal outlet. There’s a good variety of sides to choose from including their Hokkien mee! The Hokkien mee was pretty good but a bit spicy for the kids (I think it was pepper). Broth has a strong prawn flavour which is a plus and came with A LOT of prawns. They provide disposable gloves and of course the free flow self service sauce station.
Meats were hand sliced and tender. Large serving but not cheap. Tasty and nice. Be careful not to over order
Unique dining experience over such yummy charcoal claypot prawn with my family. Will wanna visit again when my craving returns!
2 pax, ordered Normal soup + additional prawn, 2 sets of enoki mushroom, 1 shabu beef, 1 beef slice, total $98, I feel it'd quite pricey but it's definitely filling and the soup base just taste like normal prawn + chicken stock lor, reccomend to go if you go with friends
Always loved this prawn hotpot and the hokkien mee but the previous outlets were too far for me so I'm super glad this outlet opened in a more centralised location! The prawns are super huge and juicy and the broth is super shiok!!!
