Atmosphere is cosy and welcoming the food portions are good and the flavours of the fish and other dishes are rich and strong. The lemon and lime juice tower is a thirst quencher for group meals especially if one chooses the spicy items!

Our first experience with Tanyu. Came on a weekday and off peak hour so there is hardly anyone around. Selected the pickled vegetable base with limbo fish as we are unsure how spicy it can be. The BBQ sides are quite nice too. Will come back to try others. Service was average, they do what they need to do but don't expect friendly and warm service ;D It will be great if the staff could recommend or suggests what to order as there were at least 3 types of fishes and many flavours for the soup base.

First time at Tan Yu, and I left happy. Their dishes are very well seasoned, and generally very appetising. Their Green Chili Grilled Fish, Grilled Eggplant, Fried Rice, Noodles, and Grilled Chives were really delicious, and are definite must-haves However, this place gets really busy, so it’s better to queue early. Service is fast and fuss-free. Just note that, for big groups, you’re only allowed entrance when the whole group is present. Overall, this place offers really delicious food with reasonable prices. Worth the visit!

Ordered the green pepper soup and fish fillet, cold chicken noodles and some grilled sticks. Chicken wings was yummy but the lamb meat very hard and tough. The noodles damn delicious, super good! Grilled fish was nice too, very big amount for 2 pax but very worth it about $43. Can add on some other ingredients like crab sticks too. Price a bit expensive, all these with 2 drinks for $114. Maybe more people more worth it as the grilled fish very big portion. Nice and friendly staffs. Overall a great dining experience here. Will definitely visit again!

Had tanyu a few times but first time at Tampines outlet. Food was great, portions are ok but service definitely needs to be improved. Every service staff wears a frustrated and grumpy face, and is impatient and annoyed whenever we ask for a service, eg topping up of food, additional cutlery etc.

We've ordered the spicy soup base with the limbo fish - soup is as tastefully Mala as it should be, fish meat is nice, soft and every mouth is simply a delight. I liked how the fire was lasting enough to burn throughout approx 80perc of our meal, allowing us to easily scoop the soup out without the heavy layer of oil. For the add-ons, we've ordered beancurd skin, black fungus, konjac noodles - we'd recommend the konjac noodles as they were so chewy and added a nice texture to the overall experience. The downside to me would be the cost of the these add-ons, they were priced at $3.90 each which were pricey for inexpensive ingredients. We've also ordered the mid spicy wings (well seasoned with cumin) and the spicy dumplings in red oil (comes with a hint of sweetness which was an interesting spin). Service wise was decent and pretty quick (our pax of 2 dined there at 630pm on a Saturday). Also, each table comes with a complimentary pack of tissues. Will definitely return!

It is very authentic grilled fish, we came with a group of 8 people , ordered two type of grilled fish, one is middle spicy level, the other is normal with a variety of side that you can eat in the hot pot style It is very filling for us to finish all and the price point is quite reasonable. Worth to come if you are craving for Chinese food

The happening for the hipsters nowadays. Nice settings. Staff is friendly as they assist to guide us how to place order for the fish, cooking style & add on. Long wait on Sunday dinner timing. Took 30mins to serve all food and drinks but less then that to finish up the food. The gravy for the Chongqing fish was appetising but careful not to have excess of that. The add on for the vegetables at $3.90 per serving added to the fish. We had their grapefruit beverage $18/ tower great for group size, but it has an artificial taste. Overall it was a great place to catch up with friends/ family. Per head comes up to around $30 which is quite ex comparison the quantity per dish and also my group size majority are ladies. Tried the new garlic sauce and was amazed by the chef cooking. Now having the 2 x Mid sized chicken wing served in a satay stick at $3.90 ea.

Great place with a nice atmosphere. The floor to ceiling windows add much natural lighting into the restaurant. We had the green chilli fish and many other side dishes, all of which were great if not decent.

Love their qingjiang fish! Can taste the freshness and natural sweetness of the fish! Green pepper flavour is perfect for those who wants the numbness but not the spiciness~ will still prefer chongqing grilled fish with beancurd! Their grilled bullfrog was so tender and soft!! A must get!! 😍😍 Noodles were springy, one with strong onion taste and one with spicy vinegary taste! Grilled lamb can be fattier cuz it was a lil hard. Soy sauce rice with cheese has very mild cheese taste, not the very flavourful kind~ grilled honey toast was pretty buttery and fluffy👍🏻👍🏻

Disappointed with the taste of tanyu despite having visited them a few times in Singapore and China. Ordered a non-spicy limbo fish and it was extremely salty. Water chestnut drink was also too sweet and tasted like sweetener- had to request the service staff to dilute it further. Overall, felt super thirsty after the meal. Price point was also on the higher side.

The standard here is comparable to other branches. I took the ling bo fish which has a lot of flesh and not many bones. This is my first time having the non-spicy sauce and it is quite favourful. Although they 主打 their mala fish, it would be great if there is more than one non-spicy sauce. The service here is also great. Kudos to the lady service staff with short hair (forgot to ask for her name). They do not offer water but the service staff was kind enough to offer my elderly parents a sample cup of red tea each. She also offered to add soup to our fish halfway through our email to avoid the sauce from getting too salty.

My parents love Tanyu so much they have been having it every other week at Bugis. First time trying the Tampines outlet and was very impressed. The food was impeccable with a few additional dishes and drinks that couldn’t be found at the Somerset and Bugis outlets. Place was huge and clean with nice views from Level 4 and to top it off, Linda and Hui Ying were absolutely perfect - friendly and attentive. The guy managing the tickets (didn’t manage to get his name) was also very polite throughout despite the crowds and many questions asked by people around. Foresee our family returning very soon and very often too!

Staff Ms Corine has been very helpful and meticulous throughout our dining-in experience yesterday, 14 Sept 2023. Even though we were informed the outlet will be holding a meeting, the rest of the staff did not rush us and told us that enjoying the food is more important than anything else. Staff very dedicate to advice which fish dish to order apart from the noodle we selected n constantly add some broth to the fish so that the soup won't be too salty. The fish is very fresh n smooth, blend with spice n chilli very appetizing. Noodles abit salty but still very yummy cos individual preference. Drinks to me, not really tasty cos can't taste the lemon as it blended with passion fruit but it quench the thirst after all the spiciness.

In the past, I always ordered green vine peppers. Today I saw the Maoxuewang grilled fish and tried it. The result was unexpectedly delicious. It was very delicious, with a generous portion and rich ingredients. There were potatoes, fungus, winter melon, bean sprouts, hairy belly luncheon meat, two I personally couldn’t finish it, highly recommended!
