Tanjong Hwaro: A Korean BBQ Feast Worth Indulging In. Tanjong Hwaro is a Korean BBQ restaurant that has quickly become a favorite among locals and tourists alike. We actually stumbled upon this Korean BBQ and it was unexpectedly excellent. Wanted to eat the knife cut Korean noodles next door but the queue was too long . Two of us had the meat platter which ended up around $160 after all the charges. I think it could satisfy at least 3 pax as we were super full after the meal. All the meats were excellent and expertly cooked by the staff. The sides were generously refilled each time you finish. At many similar joints you have to keep signalling the staff to refill and they often take their time to do so. All in all a wonderful surprise discovery!

food was okay, of a good standard. ordered the pork B set (which was good, and staff cooked for us), cold noodles & onion salad. service was not too good, staff all looked very frazzled (staff brought us charcoal twice to only move it to another table, and wrong meat platter a few times) and our meats and charcoal took quite long to come. also, the soft tofu stew that came as part of the set did not have soft tofu, but a firmer tofu which was quite disappointing. paid $173 including beer and drinks for 2, expected better for the price

The food was good, and their beef and pork cuts are also very nice. However, one improvement they need to make is the number of staff serving. There's only 2 staff at the front serving the entire restaurant (although the restaurant isn't big). I can see some customers feeling frustrated, waiting to be served.

Came on Sunday late afternoon when it was empty. The beef and pork promotion was really value-for-money at $128. Service staff were superb as they barbecued for us the whole time. The meat were fresh and well-barbecued - way better than we could have done ourselves. Will definitely come again!

The meat tasted great and went well with the veggies and condiments. However, the Banchan was super lacking and you had to pay for Barley water at $4 a jug, no normal water. Service was ok, complimentary yoghurt drink that came after the meal. Overall very very average, not worth the price point considering there are so many other Korean places around.

The pork collar is so nice!!! All sets come with a stew and steamed egg!!! Btw, the side dishes smashed potato is a must!!!

Quite a small k.bbq restaurant with around 12 tables. What's unique about this shop is that they use charcoal instead of electric grill to bbq. Prices are pretty average for a bbq shop like this around tanjong pagar road. Getting the set might be more value for money than ordering individual ala carte. The marinated meats were seasoned well and really tasty, the fresh ones without marinating like the wagyu were equally good as well. Other than the bbq, the side dishes like fried chicken was great, crispy and saucy. Kimchi pancake was good as well. The only downside was that the bibim naengmyeon was bad, it lacked flavour and the additional sauces didn't help, the original gochujang sauce mix they gave tasted like a slightly watered down version, lacking the usual appetising oopmh you'd expect from the cold noodle dish. Asides from that, it was way too smoky and the air vents were probably clogged as they provided little to no help in sucking the smoke away. Aside from that, it was not a bad experience, and also it was the only other shop that doesn't require a 1.5hr queue at 5.30pm on a sat.

We tried this new Korean bbq place as it was new and was a lot less crowded than the rest around the area. Pricing was a bit high ($100 for 2 people) although the meat was pretty good quality. We got iberico pork and beef and makkoli. The staff will help you cook, but they dropped the ball a little maybe because they’re still fairly new. After a while your table gets a bit neglected and you’ll have to cook the meat on your own. We also had to ask for vegetables twice before getting a refill. Sides were yummy and overall it was still a satisfying meal, but the staff were a bit flustered and busy even though it wasn’t very crowded.

My friend & I decided to try Beef set A & SOMAEK BUCKET (1 soju + 2 beers) .The quantity for the set worth the price. Their strong point is the beef is very juicy which I like. Overall, the quality & quantity of the foods is on par.

Tanjong Hwaro is a rather new establishment serving Korean BBQ and an array of Korean dishes. In comparison to the other korean restaurants in the vicinity, their quality of meats is slightly better, but be prepared to pay about 50% more in pricing. Seafood tofu soup is very good, BBQ set portions are not much and do not come with steamed egg. Side dishes have little variety, and sub-par standards. Overall a good place for BBQ, but more must be done for Tanjong Hwaro to keep up in a competitive korean bbq dominated area.

We had late lunch here on 9/Aug reaching around 2pm while had a phonecall in advance confirmed it closes at 3pm, what surprised us was we were the only table for dinning in and not sure why the staff were all in the long face... Guess we interrupted their rest time. Since it's the first time we have lunch in this restaurant, we had some questions in ordering and in their side dishes... But their response is very disappointing, quite reluctant to talk and no smile at all... The food, bbq meat itself is very yummy, tender and juicy

Sign board in black color same as most of the shop nearby so have to look carefully. Food is fresh but a bit pricy especially the beef absolutely nice. Pricy but really still worth it for 4 pax. Added 2 bottles of makkoli which came with a plate pan cake is super worth. Don't miss this offer. Nowadays seldom rate 5 * bit if have 6th, I would also rate it because the service staff is very helpful.

This whole street is famous for its Korean food. Went here on a week day where not so much people and queue was easy. Order bbq pork set at 18 bucks each. Good value for money. Only downside maybe due to weekday the staff were limited and eventually we had to bbq our own meat. The sides were great and even give a complimentary yakult after your meal. Would go back again.

My 2 other friends and I went to have a late lunch yesterday. The boss (I assume) was very friendly and nice. At first when we aren't sure of which place we wanted to dine at and told him we will come back later, he still spoke to us in a very nice way and with respect- different than how most of the ppl would react. Then, around some time later when we decided to dine over here, staff was friendly, greeted and guided us to our seats. We ordered, meat was grilled for us in perfection personally by the Korean boss. The wagyu beef was SO GOOD, the pork was the nicest I ever had- skin was super crispy, the inside was so juicy. We were then advised to have the meats with the spicy cold noodles just like how Koreans do. IT WAS SOOO GOOD and I can't further emphasis how good the meal was. Thank you so much for the suggestion! My first time having cold noodles and I always avoided eating pork. Also, other than having beef at salt grill & sky bar, I do not eat beef at all. This place serves really good food and the service is at its best. All the customers get a "yakult" (Korean version, I assume) when they leave too! It is now my to-go kbbq place from then on. Will definitely be back again!! 🥰

Awesome atmosphere. Food's great. Has regulars whom are actual Koreans so probably you can't go wrong with this place. Give it a shot if you're hunting for another kbbq spot other than the more popular ones along the stretch.

Not only was our tummies taken care of, one of their servers, Aaron took great care of us, from cooking perfectly cooked grilled meats for us, making sure we have out banchan-s refilled, to fulfilling our requests making sure we have a great experience dining in at the restaurant during a busy Friday evening. If you want to eat Korean food while traveling in Singapore, this is a restaurant I would definitely recommend. The variety of menus, high-quality meat, and friendly staff made for a great dinner. I recommend ordering the cold noodles as well, as they go down even better when eaten with cold noodles in hot weather.

The meat is delicious, but the service is very disappointing. I ordered the beef set, but I was wondering if soup would be provided separately, so I asked while I was eating the meat, and they said it was included in the set. What if I didn’t ask? I ate half of the meat, but it wasn't served yet, so I asked and they said they forgot my order. And then an employee passes by and turns the meat over with scissors. There are clearly tongs...
