Reviews of Teahouse By Soup Restaurant @ Century Square
Went into this dining resturarant and ordered the happiness set. Wow, have to say the portion is damn generous. Two persons cant finish. The steam chicken + Lettuce with ginger is great. Still got dessert. Seem like only two branches have such options for set. Will be back.
I had an incredible experience at Soup Restaurant! :) The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, making our dining experience even better. The dim sum was outstanding, everything was fresh and packed with flavor. Every dish we tried was delicious, and the variety was impressive. Definitely a place to visit if you're craving authentic flavors and great service. Can't wait to come back for more!
I loved the food!! My first time here to celebrate my dad's birthday and your food was so nice! The Samsui Ginger chicken and steam fish was the best! oh and the pork truffle was amazing. But above all, your staff Qi Qing made my experience memorable. Her warmth and friendliness made us feel incredibly comfortable, enhancing my overall dining experience. Her attention to detail and dedication to customer service truly stood out. Thank you for this great experience.
Food
Samsui Chicken was very palatable as the chicken parts were very soft yet tender, ate with cabbage and special ginger sauce. Also ordered the CNY lohei. The rest of the dimsum tasted fresh and nice. Overall, food was very good but did not know that food prices were increased much from last time; i guessed it is the inflation that contributed to the prices.
Service
Service was excellence.
Atmosphere
It is a tea house concept; very nostalgic and homely feelings; we had the best chap si mei lunch with kakis.
About $25 to $30 per pax for the food. Food is of good quality. Their signature chicken is the must order. Century egg and pork porridge is expensive lacks century egg taste. Might want to look at supplier issue. 流沙包 is also lacking in flavour and sqlted egg taste. The other dishes which are good and fresh is their prawn dishes, Chong fun, har gao, siew Mai.
Great and friendly service. Will visit again.
Our server Mdm Tang was really helpful, food was good. The only reason for 4 stars was the queue at the door, disorganized and slow. There are empty tables behind but insufficient staff to seat customers.
Dining for dinner, food was served quite slow.
Afternoon treats, we ordered the house dessert, which was quite sweet. Because the radish cake has sold out, we have har gao and char siew sou. We consider ourselves fortunate to be able to enjoy food that has been prepared with love. It's a quiet afternoon date.
Good ambience, yummy foods. Great service by the staffs. We have had great celebration at this place for our dad 81 birthday celebration.
Great service by Mr Wong Teck Chai and amazing food! Dimsum is out of world and there’s even a 20% promo now for grabpay until the end of Oct. Defo get the char siew siu, char siew bun, samsui chicken when you’re there!
Went there for dim sum today. Food was simply delectable. Staff were friendly and welcoming. The aircon was not strong enough, probably due to hot weather.
Catherine Loo(Nex branch) was helpful n impeccable in her service standards in my personal opinion.Great experience having dined in your restaurant to say the least.
Food taste good, waitress and waiter/mgr Mr Wong Teck Chai gave very good service before, during and after meal-5 stars
24 June 2024. Wonderful Lunch at Century Square outlet.
The lady staff explained the lunch sets and recommended certain dishes well to us. The Samsui chicken was tender and tasty. Hometown tofu was very good and best are the nourishing soup, Gingseng chicken and whole coconut soup. Will be nice if the soup is hotter. Good service from the Manager, Mr Wong Teck Chai- very patient and explained the payment well. Will try out Soup restaurant again.
Delicious wanton noodle with fresh prawns. Wanted to try the fried rice, unfortunately only available 11:30 afterwards
The Dim Sum consider ok, nothing fanciful or special. But their Samsui chicken still my favourite.
Was delighted by the staff politeness and the food was really fresh and delicious. Also liked the decor or traditional tea house just like their branding
Catherine Loo was super helpful and friendly. Enjoyed both the dishes and the friendly staff !
Catherine is very friendly and efficient. We enjoyed our dinner here.
One of my favourite Chinese restaurant, especially iconic steam chicken, fried fish, varieties of din sum and many more. To me even it's a Chinese restaurant, the food taste is unique and different.. I love it.
Their chicken meat tastes very good! 😋😋😋the cereal prawn is also nice! 😍😍😍
The food is very good, very well made. Their signature chicken is a must. The magic is in the ginger dipping sauce. The dim sum is also very nice. For the price point, I have no complaints.
Nice place with friendly staff. Comfortable environment, good food.
Soup Restaurant has maintained its food quality over the years and they never fail to disappoint. Enjoy their food every single time. This branch has very old school vibes with a couple of elderly people working there. They may take some time to respond so not recommended for impatient people.
If you're in the east and craving for Samsui Chicken at Soup Restaurant, but don't want to queue at Jewel, then head to Century Square - my to go to branch in the east. This is the teahouse version so it not only has your popular dishes but also dim sum!
Foods by soup restaurant has not failed.
The waitress is not so well trained in some area.
And some are more hard sale in recommending. . Ended by order more. Able to take away.
The restaurant manager and most staff were courteous, except one middle aged female lady who was so rude. We did not want to order drinks first and she kept pushing till we were firm on our decision. When we raised our hand for a request, she looked at us and looked away, after a short while the manager came to serve us. The food here was just acceptable.
Chicken was ok. Dim sum dishes were good. Crowdes on Friday evenings.
Our server, Tan Yit Meng was very attentive. Constantly checking on us to ensure we had everything we required. She even offered the option of scissors or she could cut the meat into bite size pieces for the kids.
Overall, very good service.
Great service from this outlet! We patronize regularly to Soup Restaurant but this outlet is amazing! The food is served fast with the same quality, and good dim sum to go after the meal. If you are lucky to bump to Henry Teo, he will definitely blow your socks away with his above and beyond customer service! He is very observant of the customers, knowing that my table will enjoy the extra ginger and sambal chilli, and refilled my kids water before they asked, and top it up with full house during dinner time! I wonder how he did it but he just did it! Kudos!
Food ok but long wait to be seated and for the food to arrive.
compared to other group outlets, this place was a bit below standard with regards to quality and taste of the ordered items. we were also disappointed that the dim sum menu lasted only until 5 pm
nostisgic feeling, felt like being home. Warm environment and cozy
Restaurant’s food is great, especially the Fish Maw with Crab Meat soup! 🦀🥣
Ms Tan Hoon Lee was friendly, and provided good customer service!
Hope to come back again for another meal with my family 👍
Used to be one of my favourite places but the food standards have fallen. The fish belly and potato leaves were still good, but the samsui chicken was drier and the claypot tofu less crispy than in the past. The cereal prawns were just bad and dry. Finding it hard to justify coming here for reasons other than nostalgia right now, especially with the abundance of cheaper and better options all around the malls in the area.
I would like to compliment your staff, Tan Hoon Lee for her superb service. Our family of 8 visited Century Sq restaurant on 7.1.2023. One year ago ,we visited and was served by her too. Indeed A GEM in the restaurant!!!
Quite a number of food variety for dim sum. Food was serve fast and staff was very friendly. Staff Tan Hoon Lee was attentive and was very helpful to our needs. Will be back to try their dinner in future.
So so only for the mother's day set. Nothing special. Steam fish is good on normal days, but not this time. Chicken is tender. Overall, a little pricy for the type of dishes.
Special commendation for waitress: Tang Meng Yit, who made our dinning here enjoyable. Her humour and attentiveness engaged my old folk well.
I cannot say the same for the rest of the restaurant staff. Largely concur with other reviews on their poor attitude. Soup restaurant should reconsider training programme on good staff etiquette.
Have always enjoyed the samsui chicken. Wrap the succulent chicken with some grated ginger in a leaf of iceberg lettuce and enjoy the heavenly morsels. This dish is the star of the restaurant! The sambal sweet potato leaves is excellent. The various herbal soups are not bad. However the soups are brewed with chicken breast meat which is too tough and dry for eating. Service is prompt.
The food is quite good, the service is so, so only except from a nice kind lady named Tang Yit Meng. Her service is very good. She would give us honest recommendations about some of the dishes. Our recent visit, someone served us with a chipped tea cup and when she saw it, she immediately changed it.
Being well served by Catherine Loo at Nex
Nice place with nice food.
Warm and friendly staff esp Tang Yit Meng who go out of way to serve us.
Her recommendation of set meal was superb.
Outstanding staff and will come back again due to her. CHEERS!!!
The server Tang Yit Meng was very friendly and attends to our needs well. All the dishes served were delicious as well.
Auntie Tang Yit Meng has served us well! She recommended the menu to our needs! She is very friendly and kind! Keep up the good work auntie!
Mdm Tang was extremely helpful in my orders :)
Kudos to her service provided during my lunch here
There's an auntie name Tang Yit Meng super nice and patience. Food awesome too. Will definitely come back again !
Friendly staff and great food especially the samsui chicken which is our family favourite and the crispy prawn chee cheong fun! Highly recommended.
Teahouse by Soup Restaurant - the Ginger Chicken us hood5
Was disappointed with the food especially the sweet potatoes veg and also the samsui chicken texture is dry and not tasty hopefully it can improve.
Foods here are simply delicious & staffs are friendly & good service. Especially Lim Ah Hong.
God bless
Tim sum n chinese food is delicious, definitely will go again
Good service, food served promptly and worth the price.
Really nice n yummy dim sum here, the service is as good as the yummy dim sum
Lovely food and great service by Auntie Tan Yit Meng
Excellent service by tang yit meng, thank you see you aunty
Food is serve fast and waitress are attentive
Great food, great service
Good place for dim sum
good food
Good food as always
Food here is tasty
I took my children and elders to Century Square for lunch on Wednesday and everyone had a great time🥳
Thank you to the waiter Yit Meng and the chef assistants for accommodating our special requests for dishes.
Thank you☺️
Staff is friendly and food is nice. Sad that my Happy Farm is not available.
I give 5 stars for the quality of the food! Quality has to be earned, remember to come in advance because there is often a queue at the entrance to the restaurant with a bit of a wait, the service is quite fast (like Singapore ^^), eat slowly if you want to enjoy the moment. It's a perfect restaurant if you want to introduce traditional food to friends or family with round tables in a warm and family atmosphere! Order several large dishes which will be placed in the middle of the table for more conviviality! I didn't try the dessert because we weren't hungry anymore, but the dishes are faithful to those that my mother-in-law cooks at home!
