Reviews of The Providore (Raffles Place)
I really like coming to this place after being tired of shopping, ordering various cocktails is my favorite. Apart from that, the food here is also very tasty and varied. Good service, very beautiful and instagrammable location. They present it with a beautiful appearance
Food quality was pretty decent but nothing much to wow about. Prices are quite expensive for the main courses but not exactly justified in the quality of food served. Acoustics inside the cafe is also terrible, people had to talk really loudly to be able to hear each other. Would visit for a quick coffee break but there are ton of other nicer cafes around at half the price.
Atmosphere was good. Located next to the train station.
Food was not the best. Had the breakfast and egg benedict. The breakfast bread and sausage was burnt. Can taste the burnt food. Egg was not bad. Egg benedict was much better than breakfast.
Coffee was good. Tea can refill hot water which is good.
Price is generally the same for cafes. 2 main + 3 beverages cost S$90
Loud.... VERY LOUD! I need to write capitals, maybe it is to loud for ou to read otherwise...
Temperature is more like outside. There is a lot of aircons, but the door to the outside terrace is always open, so the aircon don't have a real chance. Food was good but singapore typical expensive. You can get sparkling water for 2S$ free flow, thats nice. The Lamp was giant, a German style like serving. Also the Burger was great.
Place is very tiny, the Restaurant same like the tables. If you put a 17" Laptop, the table is occupied. But no need to put: No Internet! OK, at least: They have free internet. Free means: You pay with your Data (Mail or Facebook account). But also don't worry: It is hard to connect. For the cellphone, i need 4 times to disconnect and connect, for the laptop 7 (or more?) times until the loginpage appear... and then asking for my FB Account. That's from the last decade, not from today.
Fantastic Breakfast Place For People Watching! Perfect spot to chill and enjoy a wide array of breakfast options available until 3pm on weekends. The outdoor dining area has a good view of people passing by. Food quality is good and price point acceptable. Service is excellent but might need to wait a bit long for your food. The outdoor tables are also a bit too small if you order big plates. Overall I love the vibe here and is now one of my favorite weekend brunch option.
Food quality didn’t match the steep price point (mains ~$35). For example, the chicken in the salad was tough like cardboard while the lambshank was bland. Portion was good though. Service was basic. No drinking water was provided. Ambience was very cosy and beautiful. There were indoor and outdoor seatings.
[1st visit: Saturday breakfast situation] Located in the CBD, prices are higher but it's ok compared to surrounding offerings. They served a good ambience with decent volume of background music, smiley and friendly servers and sleek decor. The food was great but the pastries were excepTIONALLY GOOD! Do try the almond croissants 🥰
[2nd visit: Friday lunch situation] The beef pasta was fantastic!!
Love the design of this outlet and the atmosphere here.
Food is slightly pricey, but the quality definitely justifies the pricing. Beef burger was impressive. Chef got the doneness right and it was perfectly juicy, with tasty caramelised onions. Fries were served with skin on, just the way I love it.
Will come back here for the beef burger.
Food is great, however, do feel a little over priced. But customer service has to be better. Perhaps weekends blues.. No sugar was served with my flat white. No water was served to us when we seated (which we saw some tables were served). When we requested for ice water, they served us a 8 dollars mineral Water!
It's a busy cafe with people catching up having breakfast and lunch or just coffee. It's in an ideally located venue with plenty of office workers around and is good to catch up with friends or colleagues, and serves some good strong coffee.
Came here on a weekend (Sunday) so the place was pretty empty. We love the industrial-minimalist interior design style of the place - black + wood colours lit by the afternoon sun. Service was great - prompt & friendly. We ordered a really simple combination of coffee & strawberry cake. Will consider having lunch here next time. Location is very accessible too as it's next to Raffles Place MRT.
My reservist buddies and I get together every month for photo-expeditions around the island, but since CB hit us, we had to give our gatherings a momentary hiatus, until now.
One of the highlights of our get-togethers are meals we have together as we catch up on the past month. This time, it was quite a catch-up, and one of us suggested this place.
I've never been here but after today, I will certainly give it another try with the family. It's nestled in the middle of Raffles Place, with a very cosy and ambient atmosphere. Plus the grub is great here. I had the English breakfast, and not only was it loaded with 'ammo' for the day, everything on the plate was just delectably good! Nice place, nice food! I'll be back:)
Great sandwiches that are worth 5 stars - especially the ham and cheese toastie with egg, roast zucchini and capsicum relish! Pastas are expensive, disappointing and only worth 3 stars, so I average out to 4 stars.
Very nice glasshouse looking cafe in the middle of raffles place square, with glass windows all round it is a very good place to brunch / lunch and in general watch the office people walk around during lunch hours
Food is good but prices are slightly steep. The ham/cheese sandwich I had in the pic is 22$, most other mains are 30+$ which I found a bit expensive
High price is expected with its location. The food taste and preparation are of high quality. The service is fast. 3 minute walk from Raffles MRT exit.
Food turned out better than we expected, presentation was appetizing, service was prompt and overall we were happy except that we found the prices steep.
Overpriced for what was provided
I had the breakfast board and in all honest the presentation was pretty disappointing, there was absolutely nothing special about this dish
What’s worse is the sad avocado with brown spots that I had received as well as a decent amount of water within the bottom of the bowl where the poached eggs were
The coffee was good, but then again it’s imported from Melbourne that has some of the best coffee in the world
I wouldn’t be going back here in a hurry
The crab linguine pasta was the best dish. Roast chicken was extremely tender.
Providore has just the best working formulae! Coffee is consistently high quality across the outlets island. Most often consistency varies across outlets in most cafes but not Providore!
April 2023 Review:
- One of the best chai Latte I ever tried. It’s pricy yes, but it’s made with love ❤️ and it taste amazing 🤩
- Latte oat milk is good too 😊
Definitely recommended for a drinks and relax time ✅
The Providore at Raffles Place is set in a beautiful glass house restaurant and has a chill vibe in the evenings.
We ordered the Crab Linguini Pasta and the Pan Seared Barramundi. Both exceeded our expectations.
The only downside was that the staff were very unresponsive and seemed to lack understanding of the patrons’ needs (Requested for refill of water for our cups. The waitress filled water for a cup at an empty chair and walked off).
We would recommend this restaurant if you intend to impress a date (Great setting and food!). Just be patient with the waiters.
Visited twice in the past week. Saturday brunch was lovely. The staff were friendly and the brunch food and pastries/cakes were really good. New year's eve breakfast was disappointing.. One of the staff in grey was really unwelcoming -- had a reservation and my party and I came separately but apparently the same funny look was given by the same guy and we were seated at two sides of the restaurant although reservation was under the same name ._. The brioche and scone served tasted kind of stale as well :/ wasn't a good second experience :(
Love the Eggs Benedict! Eggs done to perfections with liquid yolk flowing out when you cut through it. I had a cup of Chai Latte too and it was warm and comforting, but only if you love spices!
Do note that they do not accept reservations for lunch here on Weekdays before 5pm!
Had the Crab linguine Pasta and it was alright. Certainly not the most affordable option in the CBD area with majority of the mains averaging $30.
Damage for 2 Mains + 2 Drinks was about $99++.
Albeit great, portion was tiny for its price. Halloumi was just 2 small pieces, tiny portion of hummus too, not even enough for half of the pita, rocket was plain, without any dressing. There were no pearl onions as mentioned in the menu. Pita was ok. Not worth $20 definitely.
Good strong coffee. A bit pricey and no meal and drink combos. But nice of them to make breakfast before 9 AM start time. Poached eggs, bacon, sausage, everything good. Different music playing in kitchen versus the main room. Haha. Nice to have ceiling fans instead of air con blasting. Service fine. Would get all 5 stars if prices were better, but based on location, it is what it is.
I’d expect a more expedite service for the price we were paying. Two sodas 🥤 for a total of $21, pretty high. I guess you’re paying for location, as it is on the center of downtown.
All is good after coffee. Very nice atmosphere. Came here for our long weekend getaway so the ambiance was nice and relaxing. Love the greenery surrounding in contrast with skycrapers around.
Had a nice lunch here. Fast service and good food. It gets really busy during weekday lunches to best to avoid peak times. Prices not too bad considering very central Raffles MRT location. Worth checking out.
Friendly and courteous servers. Always putting on a smile and they are very lively. Their desserts are great.
Secluded cafe at Raffles City as it is located outside the building. Food and beverages is a little overprice, can’t complain too much for the location.
We went around lunch and had some waiting. Once we got our table, the coffee was delicious but the vegetarian food was OK-ok. I ordered a grilled veggie sandwich with sour dough and it really wasn't appetizing. The saving grace were their slow pressed juices - pineapple, blueberry and mint
Was busy when we went, but service was still ok. Had the avocado toast, which was basic but good! Coffee was fab as well.
Good quality of barramundi fish, small portion, need to order 2 mains
Service was great. Nice to see Raffles Hotel from other side. Good quality of food.
The service and place were fantastic but the food was lacking... Really REALLY average food for above average prices.
Great atmosphere, comfortable and spacious. Really good service and nice coffee!
I like it as a glasshouse concept have natural lights in. Feeling relax to chill with friends even just a weekday lunch.
Great menu. Delectable servings. Warm staff.
The cafe is bustling with energy in the mornings. Coffee was served promptly and the acidic taste was great. We ordered smashed avocado toast, house muesli and ricotta pancakes. The food too was of good quality. Loved the atmosphere at this place.
The overall ambiance of the restaurant is cosy.
we had scones and danish pastries, they provided butter and jam, i guess it's their own jam product and it was super tasty, pastries were crispy and perfect and the scones were same too. we also had latte which was also great but had to admit it was bit way expensive.
Visited on a Sunday morning, no lineup and able to sit right away. Prompt service in taking our drink and food orders. Coffee was very high quality and tasted great. Had English Breakfast with especially delicious bacon. Eggs Benedict was underwhelming - very soft bun used as the base and ham was room temperature. Eggs in both dishes were very lightly cooked - would suggest requesting your eggs be cooked more if that’s your preference
Nice cappuccino and nice place to sit and watch people walking by…
Great place with spectacular views! ;-) location is very convenient. Its not cheap but in line with surroundings offering. More importantly service is excellent and efficient. I asked for ice mocha but without ice as usually it comes as one glass full of nice with almost no liquid. Usually when i do that... i get something screwed up back. Well for the first time i got a perfect drink! Impressed.
Nice ice coffee, sitting out side surrounding by buildings some experienced.
Coffee on a hot Sunday afternoon. Great coffee always.
Not too crowded for a weekday post lunch catch up. Nothing overtly special about their coffees but environment is pretty conducive for quick business meetings/catch ups/work. They do charge for water though.
Good location, style and presentation. Limited on vegetarian options for cooked breakfast
Coffee was good! I love the coffee here, but it can get really hot and when the place is crowded, staff is less likely to be able to serve you on time.
Beautiful interior and friendly staff.
A bit disappointing that the chef can’t do poached eggs properly.
Considering the steep price, probably should think twice before getting food here.
Food is overpriced and basic. No tap water. While pastries and store products are good, would not recommend for dining in.
food was alright, but not for its price. vibes are a pass.
First time visit and got excellent service from YY, Keith! Pleasantly surprised with the birthday treat! Sign up the membership! Recommended to visit with friends and fam/loved ones!
On weekdays, there are many options around here. But on weekends, this is probably one of the best coffee joints you can stay and do work in. Also because, the others are not open until late in the evening, including Starbucks. Food is good, drinks are great, service is amazing, and location is convenient.
Great coffee, good food too.
due to good crowd traffic at raffles place, serving time for food/beverage orders is quite a wait. not a good venue if looking to have quiet chats as it's pretty noisy.
Nice.
Was there for a meeting and a cuppa. Typically a business place for busy executives to sit down for a coffee or a quick lunch. Quite crowded always during morning till lunch.
Really nice outdoor area . Chai Latte and Ricotta Pancakes are definitely must-try dishes.
Very nice option for weekend breakfast :)
1. The food is fresh. The waiter enthusiastically recommended how to eat it, as well as a sauce without any additives, and finally enthusiastically packaged it for us to take away.
2. A cafe with many Mexican dishes. The food is very nice, but the taste is not something I, a Chongqing native, am used to.
Sip coffee in comfort near Raffles Place MRT station
