Reviews of Wannian Stonepot Fish
fish is fresh and nice. opted for Mala version broth although their specialty seem to be the non spicy broth. it turned out nice, not too spicy or oily. soup is drinkable and goes well with added ingredients. stir fried cabbage was a little too sweet for our liking. bbq skewers are average. la zi ji is nice and full of real chicken meat unlike most other places with little meat and loads of chilli. only gripe is beer is more expensive then other similar restaurants in the area.
Restaurant is owned by a middle aged couple and it's very cosy and homely.
We ordered 6 dishes in total and they all came in rapid waves and were piping hot.
The stone pot fish they are famous for has different soup bases and the one we had was the Chinese version of sauerkraut hence it's got that spicy sour kick to it. Very flavourful and they give free refills for the soup base!
It is the first time I've tried stir fried cereal beef slices of and I have to say it's a pretty good combination. Tender and bursting with fragrant crispy cereal every bite.
The rest were all text book stir fry dishes so they were pretty decent!
Prices were also competitive so it's definitely value the money. Would definitely return for more in the near future.
We have a great lunch here, the only place my friend and I always go for fish pot soup!
Stonepot fish is delicious but so are all the non fish dishes! Huge selection of veggie and meat items.
We got low spice level on everything and it will still hurt to eat (in a good way).
The seabass stone pot is hella good. The green beans, la zi ji, and drunken duck are also favorites. We ordered a lot and there wasn't anything I didn't like

This restaurant provides great taste fish soup, with very nice presentations of food. However the price is a bit high, during lunch hours 3 of us ordered 1 wok of fish soup, 1 fry pork, 1 cold salad, no drinks, it cost s$135, a bit of bill shock.
What I like:
- the taste of the soup, 5 stars
- very cozy environment
- not crowded at all
- hdb parking lot just across the street
What can be improved:
- expensive $$$$
- the smell of the burnt wax fuel
Decent portion
Homely & authentic taste
e.g.
Stonepot Fish + 1 seafood + 1 veg + 2 rice= $85 (no gst&svc) suitable for 3-4 pax. Price is reasonable given the taste and portion.
Advised to book before coming (online reservation available).
Highly recommended to dine in since there is aircon too!
P.S. As a local, it’s been a while i saw a HUGE VARIETY of options. Utensils are sanitised by dipping into hot water.
We were looking for a place to eat during our visit of Chinatown
You have a lot of choices, the food was simple yet very good, the staff was friendly and it was globally cheap! I recommend it
I had my first chillicrab here, and as a european I thought I wouldn't like it. I guess I was wrong because it was absolutelly amazing. The place is refreshing and we were almost the only ones there. The servers were super kind too. Would definetlly go there again.
The food comes super slow. The service is great but the food comes super slow😭. You would order like 8 dishes and you'll be finishing like 4 alr waiting for the next and they will take pretty long. Not that I don't recommend, if you're not so patient and hungry, I would recommend it because their food is not bad especially their 辣子鸡. If you're looking for a quick order and eat place, this isn't it. But worth the try as their service is really very good and friendly staffs.
I was really good, found in Singapore's Co a Town. Good prices and it was pretty busy as I ended up sitting outside.
Very good service and food!
First time here although its just opposite my house..
The stone pot fish can choose what type of fish and the soup bases you like.
We had patin and original herbal soup, the soup herbs were not over powering, fish was super fish as caught in tank (they will cover with curtain so that the fish water won't splatter all over).
Bitter goud stir fried with minced pork - those who like bitter goud this dish is good, I personally never touch bitter goud in my whole life. I had one slice and had a second go and finished it. Got the slight slight sweet after chewing on the bitter goud.
Stir fried eggplant - known as 鱼香茄子... must eat while its pipping hot, crunchy black fungus, although looked oily lah but not the oily feel...
Fu yong omelette - the staff will ask if wanna slice it for us, not oily, loads of cabbage and carrots, good crunchy shrimp.
Garlic fried spare ribs - well marinated until the meat, fat and meat equal. Long spare ribs not small pieces. Very shiok.
Steamed dumpling - the staff will ask if you want pork or chicken, skin very very smooth. Goes will with julienne ginger and vinegar.. very good.
Complimentary dessert - almond tau huey... not very strong almond taste but hits the spot.
Overall - 5/5☆☆☆☆☆
Service - 5/5☆☆☆☆☆
Ambience- at first not so many customers quiet quiet, before we left then got a few more customers came in.
Food - 5/5☆☆☆☆☆ more to try lah.

4 of us had 5 dishes, 4 big bottles of tsing tao beer, cost us about S$130. 2 of the dishes we had are must try - deep fried pork ribs in salt and pepper and fried pork knuckles with dried chilli. Looking forward to try their signature fish dishes.
Hui Yan did well in her good services and we willing to take her extra mile to serve us ☺️☺️☺️ well done job and keep it up 👍👍👍🥰🥰🥰
All the food we had were surprisingly good. Good for family gathering. Service is great!
Excellent service. The gentleman at the door remembered us from 4 days previous. Superb food. Has an A ratting on the wall.
Went there in May with family, thought it excellent, clean, cozy, fair price. A good place to go in Singapore, enjoyed the experience.
Food is spicy but delicious.
Service is good
Very nice and friendly service and the food is good too.
Amazing service, and very good food. Also a very clean place
very friendly staff and very affordable food prices
Unique fish soup. Nice fried szechuan chicken bites
Hot and spicy stone pot fish, if u like it.
Fresh fish always
Amazing food here.
I went there while on a business trip.
I came here to eat at night 5 out of 10 days.
It's cheaper and tastes better than along the river.
The clerk's attitude is also nice.
Chinese food, fish hotpot, and crab dishes are all recommended.
A large selection of delicious dishes. Nice, family atmosphere. I recommend it👍
The overall feeling is good, especially the dishes are very suitable for our taste. I especially ordered an extra portion of the spicy chicken 😂 because it was not enough, hahaha.
The fish is delicious, not salty and has no MSG. There is no MSG at all.
But you have to pay attention to the price of the bill, sometimes they will click the wrong one.
Tasty and unusual. The staff is very polite.
