Reviews of Warisan Kampung
I would have given more stars if Google Reviews allowed it. This was an amazing lunch. Ordered the Stingray set for 1 (prices have gone up to $10). Nice touches with the condiments of half a salted egg and the not oft seen (here) winged bean. The pièce de résistance is the assam gravy. Lemak. Each scoop brings an explosion of flavours and sensations as you bite through the small bits of the various spices that all come together beautifully. This is quite unlike the run of the mill SG version assam pedas. Spiciness level is on point. Just nice. For this price point, they could use a better quality of rice. But the gravy more than make up for it.
Pro-tip: start with the smaller pieces of fish and give the larger pieces more time to cook thoroughly in the claypot. I took the large piece first and a bit of the meat is not thoroughly cooked. I usually will send back food like this, but I was in bliss and just wanted to keep eating.
I will return to try the rest of the items on their menu.
Stop reading and just go makan already!
Awesome Claypot Asam Pedas in east Singapore! I will travel from the other end of the island just to eat this dish.
It can get crowded, and you might have to wait longer during lunch. But it will be worth your time!
Truly satisfying! Been craving for authentic Asam Pedas Ikan Pari since our last trip to Malacca in 2020. With Warisan Kampong in place, save the hassle to get a real authentic taste right here in our little red dot! Keep up the good work. Highly recommended 🙏
Had guests today for dinner. Ordered medium size asam pedas fish head. My guest loved it. The dish was awesome. Even my guests requested for the same dish for their next visit.
Thank you for making my guests happy. Will continue ordering from this place.
Finally found the authentic Asam Pedas Malaka style hidden at Blk 138 Tampines Street 11. Bought the Stingray Asam Pedas. Food was great and delicious. Was actually looking forward for the Beef or Tetel but was told sold out. I understand you can request for level of spiciness which I choose Mild. The fish was fresh and I like the lady finger (also fresh) which is cooked into it. Be prepared to wait as everything prepared fresh. Will be back for dining in. Highly recommended and you won't regret it.
I have had my fair share of experiences enjoying Asam Pedas in various restaurants in Malacca. This hidden gem right here in Tampines Street 11 is as close as it gets. Incredible effort by the chef to replicate an authentic taste and look of the famous Asam Pedas Melaka. Fish head and stingrays are all fresh and they prepare your dish upon order. The BEST asam pedas in Singapore by far.
Can fight with Malacca asam pedas for sure. One of the best in Singapore.
True to its name, their authentic asam pedas Malacca is to drool for.. Fresh chunks of stingray and thick, enough spicy gravy that will keep u wanting more. Servings are also generous! Definitely no regrets!
The stall offer the best claypot asam pedas in Singapore regardless of the type of fish.
The best asam pedas melaka claypot so far in this little red dot. Definitely a hidden gem, with humble and great customer service!
