Reviews of Yappari Steak Singapore (VivoCity)
Food - steak served on hot lava stone. It’s just seared outside and still raw inside. You decide how cooked you want as you eat. 👍 Steak is very tender and well marinated - almost no need to add any sauce. Love hot egg drop soup and salad. Best of all you can ask for replenishment of both as much as you can take. ❤️
Service - excellent. Staff continued to come assist or advise about how to cook steak and which sauces or spices to eat it with. Constantly clearing empty dishes. Very nice.
Atmosphere - definitely very conducive for dining. No loud music etc.
Definitely worth a return
We came here at 11am for lunch and when we finished at 11.45am, there was already a queue outside the restaurant.
We ordered the highly recommended top blade and we enjoyed it very much.
I also like the free flow rice, soup and salad concept.
The staff service is also very good.
I will come back again to try other types of meats.
Amazingly fun grill-your-own-steak concept with juicy grain-fed Angus and free flow rice, soup and salad. Iron plate stays hot and you can tweak the doneness of your steak depending on your preference. Proper steak knives are provided and that's always a sign of a good steak place! Do note that it can get quite smoky though and you will smell like delicious grilled beef after your meal! 🤤 Definitely try the beef tendon stew too! Come at off-peak hrs to avoid the long queues and do note that there is a 10% service charge and 9% GST on top of the menu prices so it isn't a very cheap option! However at $23.80 for 200g of steak, it is still a decent price for a nice steak date night!
Delicious Japanese-inspired steak experience at Yappari Steak, VivoCity!
Ordered the signature Yappari Steak, tender Zabuton, and flavorful Nakaochi Karubi. Pairing them with the perfect Sapporo Premium beer (served at the right temperature in a chilled glass) elevated the experience.
House red wine surprised us with its quality. Free-flow veggies with sesame seasoning were a delightful bonus.
Standout seasonings: Steak Mix Powder, Wasabi, and Garlic Sauce.
Service: Friendly, attentive staff made up for the casual, non-fine dining atmosphere.
Value-for-money steaks, generous portions, and great drinks – highly recommended for a satisfying meal!
Ordered the 200g of Yappari Steak , the cut might look lean but its quite tender, after all its wet aged Misuji. Hot stone was a bit small and my steak flew off a few times while I was cutting it.
If you are lazy to cook or adverse to oil and smoke, can always order the mix cut donburi . The variety of sauces and condiments was amazing. All teppan steaks comes with 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗳𝗹𝗼𝘄 rice, cabbage and egg drop soup.
Lovely dinner at this no frills steak house. Cook your Angus beef steak on the lava stone plate from Mt Fuji, to your own doneness. There are so many sauce to go with it but the best is just a tiny pinch of salt and pepper! The steak was tender and juicy and 200g was just not enough! It comes with free flow rice, soup, and cabbage salad!
Hope you can open an outlet in the new Pasir Ris Mall!
Visited this steakhouse at VivoCity, hail from Okinawa. This is the place if you like good beef cuts on sizzling pans and only restaurant so far where you can also get a decent serving foie gras at $8. Best part is the free flow serving of rices, soups and shredded cabbage. Queue time can be long especially during weekends and mealtimes. Can be challenging to dine with big groups as there are limited seats.
Tasty good quality Japanese style hot stone secondary cut steaks with free flow of japanese rice, egg drop soup and salad. All at reasonable prices. What's not to like? Ventilation could be a bit better. Very popular. Come early or be prepared to queue.
First time trying Yappari. Service is fast and fiss free. The beef cut is good and side dishes is great with rice. Great that there are many types of sauces for u to choose to go with the beef cut.
A cosy restaurant suitable for family and friends. No reservation it's better to go there slightly earlier than the usual lunch or dinner crowd. Service was prompt and friend. The steak was a bit hard though probably because of the cut, and the sauces didn't go very well with the meat.
Had dinner with colleagues here on a Thursday evening. Arrived at about 630pm and we were the 2nd in line. We got a table about 5 min later. I ordered the 300g yappari steak, a top blade. 2 of my colleagues got the 200g version while another got the karubi. The sets came with free flow rice, egg drop soup and cabbage salad with goma sauce.
The steak was not bad for the price. Obviously at this price you're not going to get premium wagyu, but this is pretty decent. My colleague commented that the karubi was a bit too fatty, and not the good type of fat. By itself, the beef wasn't very tasty, but there was an assortment of sauces to try, along with salt and pepper, which were in interesting automatic grinders. I tried the onion sauce, Yappari soy sauce and the garlic sauce. I liked the garlic sauce the best.
Service was acceptable, and ambience is casual. The grilling of the meats on the hot stone means some oil will get onto you (they provide aprons though) as well as the smell.
Overall, pretty decent and I'd come again if I had a steak craving and not feeling too fancy.
Easily my favorite steak restaurant now. I dined with my wife, and we both had the 200g Yappari steak. Our order of 200g + 200g included two portions of soup, rice, and vegetables. It's the same price as the 300g + 100g option, but that one comes with only one portion of soup, rice, and vegetables. The staff were strict about no sharing of soup, rice, and vegetables 🙄.
Anyway, the steak was awesome! The hot plate kept it warm, ensuring every bite was perfectly heated 😋. The sauce available on the table was a great addition. The iced green tea was quite refreshing too, though I'm not sure if it’s free-flow. I didn’t need a second glass after drinking four bowls of soup 😅.
The only downside was the lingering smell on our clothes after dining. The hot plate tends to splatter, so wearing an apron, which they provide, is advisable. We didn’t have to queue when we visited on a weekday for lunch. However, the weekend crowd is pretty bad, and I wouldn’t suggest visiting with small children.
Good tender steak for a reasonable price😊. I ordered their 200g Yappari Steak, and topped up $8 for a slab of foie gras. The streak comes with a small cup of soup, and a bowl of shredded cabbage with sesame sauce. Good thing they provided the apron! 😄
TLDR, pricey for what’s essentially a piece of steak but worth at least 1 try
200g comes to almost $30 all-in
Each order comes with a serving of salad, soup, white rice (refillable)
Similar to Yakiniku Like; everyone is free to choose a size that suits that capacity (150g, 200g, 300g)
Everyone is also free to finish off the sear to their desired done-ness on the hot plate.
Cooks really fast too
Wide variety of sauces even though the meat tasted good enough on its own
However, if you derive no additional satisfaction from rice, soup, salads like I do (Am here for the steak) then it’s a pricey piece of meat
Note also that wait times exceed 30 mins during meal times
Expect more outlets to pop up soon
Ordered the 150gm set and the beef was not bad but the rice was not well cooked and was on the dry side of when I went. There’s a lot of sauces to choose from but some of them are diluted. Atmosphere was ok but with any hot plate place, you will smell like bbq when you leave.
Honestly decent meat quality served with short grain rice and they also have an array of sauces so you can find out which is the best pairing for yourself (personally prefer it simple with pepper and salt), can’t really complain for the price! Also pretty fun to cook the steak to your desired doneness ✌🏻
Leanest cut was the best of the 3 cuts. Price was a bit high. Free flow of the salad, rice and soup.
Reasonably priced and best steak that’s wallet friendly! Recommended by my friend and we always go back when we have steak craving! Love the free flow rice, soup and salad too!
Newly opening for less than 3 weeks. Luckily when I was at there, I was 2nd in the queue.
Didn't wait for long, managed to get a table, directed by a friendly & cheerful staff. She did communicate with me in a joking way, whereby really very nice of her despite of the crowds which came in at later timing.
Ordered for the minimum portion of Yappari steak at 150g. Requested for no rice for the set meal.
Thks to the same staff who recommend of her fave sauce - garlic. I gave 3 sauces a try for each, indeed the garlic is the best among. Together with the green wasabi & yellow garlic, it was the best combo.
Looking quite like the hot stone which I had eaten it many years ago. The hot plate need to be extremely hot enough to grill the steak. On & off, there will be sudden spike off some sauce or hot to my hands. Abit uncomfy, even tot I have pushed the hot plate away from me.
The steak also got some tendor which hard to chew it. Got a cup of hot tea with refillable. Soup with egg in a cup was nice too.
Affordable steak + free flow soup/rice/cabbage, cheap Japanese beer and excellent service. Probably my favourite place for a quick steak fix now.
I randomly stumbled upon and was lured into this place because of the aroma. Lots of accompaniment and sauces to go with the steak, garlic sauce was my go to.
The staff were very attentive and friendly throughout which made the experience that much better.
We ordered the 200g one. The steak is dry. There is no euphoria feeling of feeling the fats oozing out from the steak, melting in your taste bud. It’s rather sad… especially when I was badly craving for steak. The utensils are really greasy to touch. They're not washed thoroughly so that's really a deal breaker.
The chance to personally cook and customize your steak adds an interactive and unforgettable element to the dining experience. I’ve tried the Yappari Steak, Zabuton Steak, Karubi Steak, Hamburg Steak, Beef Tendon Stew, and Garlic Butter Rice, and each dish surpassed my expectations. While it’s not an everyday indulgence, every dollar spent here is truly worth it for a memorable date night or special occasion. Every bite is a journey of flavor and satisfaction, leaving you craving for more until the very end!
Quick steak-fix, decent quality meat cuts and good overall cost performance. Free flow salad/ rice / soup(not a big fan) are nice as well.
Staff should clean the sauces bottles cuz they are all sticky, ventilation not that great with the all sizzlings. I feel that restaurant should cook the steak a little more before serving if requested medium rare. rather than throwing a slab of raw meat to the hotplate, it’s tough to cut using utensil knife.
No frills steak place. Had it twice. 2nd time round we found that the lava stone didn’t remain hot enough to cook the meat to its appropriate doneness. Could be the 300g portion is too thick to cook fast enough. Somehow the black pepper supplier could have changed as the black pepper during our 2nd visit was noticeably less fragrant. That being said, still a good place to go for steak.
steaks were so good. melting in mouth. hamburg steak for kid meal has smell. great experience but i have better option in other restaurant
Cut as thick as you want, cook as what you like. Variety of sauces provided, teriyaki and the wasabi is a good match. Shown here is a 200g Yappari Steak 🥩 , beef is Black Angus.
Had a good experience here! Got their top flank steak and it was super juicy. You can cook it the rareness you prefer, and the seasoning and sauces they provide are really nice. Although a bit pricey, would definitely recommend!
The queue was fast. Took us about 30min. Top blade is good. Good portion to share for 300g. Hamburger taste fresh. Not much of cooking required.
Very delicious cuts of beef and generous he helpings of fluffy rice (free-flow!). Each set comes with cabbage slaw with kewpie-like sesame dressing. Top cut (flank I think) steak is soft and milder in flavour, while the rib fingers offer a more robust and richer taste with good texture. Hope more outlets open! Will definitely return but it's a bit far, so not as often as I'd like. The kids meals are also less salty, so that's great for my <2-year-old toddler.
Sizzling and delicious steak feast that melts in my mouth, and all these at an affordable price. Superb, outstanding service from the staff too. They even offered a cushion to a pregnant lady to support her back. Love their attention to detail and how all the staff took great pride in their work!

Overall
Yappari Steak impresses with its delicious offerings, comfortable atmosphere, and friendly service. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or indulging in a treat-yourself moment, it’s worth the visit. Definitely a must-try for any steak enthusiast!
Super delicious steak cooked right in front of your eyes, fresh, tender and affordable!! Here on my second time and never regretted it! Super friendly staffs, ample space for baby and definitely will come for more!!
Very tender steak that u can cook on a hot stone to your desired doneness. Lots of condiments, so it's like eating many different dishes in 1 visit. The Wasabi sauce is highly recommended. So is the garlic sauce. Free flow of cabbage. Plain water is free, which is super rare in SG nowadays
The staff's Irasshaimase is super on the ball. It's not the lifeless kind u usually hear in SG. It makes u feel like you are back in Japan.
The beef was tender, flavourful, and great for the price. I’ll definitely be back for more! and also the staff, Sharon was very helpful and attentive, which made the experience even better
Load up on the Yappari Steak Top Blade and beef tendon stew. Free flow salad is a bonus.
Zambuton Steak is a bit chewy but still enjoyable, Hamburg steak is a kinda loose and flakes easy, garlic butter rice is average at best.
Delicious steaks at reasonable prices. Japanese style steak always have a pleasant and unique taste.
the steaks are too good for this price. the sauces (so many choices) are not too heavy and strong which is perfect for the steak. the steak itself is super tender. ice green tea is refillable. I'll definitely come back here for my future dinners and lunches.
Sizzling hot black angus steaks you can eat at your own doneness 👍
Very oishii. I like the garlic sauce and the mixed spice. 😋 Unlimited refills of rice, salad & soup. Will come back again next month.
Mehhh not recommended if you are not someone who cooks often. Suggest to serve cut meat instead. I am personally not used to having to cut the meat on the hotplate and had my hands splattered with oil. Not recommended to bring little ones. The oil seems to splatter everywhere else too…
Yummy steaks on hot plates.. free flow rice, soup & salad
I order the 200g Yappari Steak. The meat is very tender and juicy. However most of the sauce is predominantly salty, maybe can add more variety
Went for lunch today and had to que but whenever there’s open table for two, they will allow next available 2 people first so those in bigger group may need to wait longer.
The steak is just a steak on a hot plate (simplicity good) but what we like is the all you can eat rice, soup & salad. The salad is shredded cabbage with sesame dressing which is yum 👍
Been Frequent more than once to this fabulous Okinawa Steakhouse with high premium quality steaks @ affordable price served on Lava HotStones
Unlimited salad + Egg Soup + Rice to complete your nostalgic experience all in one without any complaints but full of satisfaction
Just had lunch there, fantastic quality beef at great price point. Probably the preferred steak restaurant in VivoCity mall. Good for all ages, especially with kids. Free flow rice, and it's Japanese rice, is crazy good deal.
Hope to see them open more branches!
Affordable steak. Free flow of Rice, Salad n egg soup. Could not ask for more.. Good value.
Enjoyed the sizzling steaks, curly fries and egg mayo! Service staff was friendly and efficient!
Finally a restaurant in SG that serves food that taste like Japan.
Really decent value for money! Hope they can keep the price down
The beef is very tough… and there’s this bad smell/ taste of their meat. Very average steak.
Queue is always long but totally not worth the waiting time
Great place to go for beef steak lovers. Food tastes great, got free flow soup, tea and rice for meals combo.
Will go again.
Bring the kids here, they'll love the experience of cooking their own meat! Very reasonable price for such high quality beef.
First visit , delicious . My child loves it .

Yappari Steak from Okinawa
Rice, soup, cabbage salad, all you can eat!! ️
Green tea (hot/ice) Free refills! ️
Japanese vegetable curry with lots of ingredients!! ️
There are so many types of meat sauce! ️
The main meat is grilled on Mt. Fuji lava stone plates. In other words, the oil will always splatter, so be sure to cover the table and clothes with the apron provided by the store and paper napkins.
Shop BGM Okinawa pops!! I could hear the nostalgic SPEED song.
If you want to finish off your day with a hearty meal, this is the place to go.
Recently, Okinawa's Yappari Steak has opened in Singapore. There was always a long line, but around 5PM on Saturday, there was no wait time, so I went in. Is this the first store in Singapore? I want you to do your best. When I entered the restaurant, even though I was of Japanese descent, the customer service was Singaporean standard and the menu was placed on the desk without a word. When I checked, I ordered 200g of misuji steak, the signature menu item, by asking the staff instead of ordering from the barcode. It took about 7 to 8 minutes to arrive. Here too, the expressionless waiter mechanically places the food on the table without saying a word. I've tried many different types of steak sauces, but they're all soy sauce-based, so I don't notice any major differences in taste. The meat is also fairly soft and refreshing to eat. To be honest, it tasted exactly as I imagined, and it didn't exceed my expectations. I think the total cost of SGD30 including drinks is quite reasonable in Singapore. There's a line at the store right now, but I wonder how many repeat customers will come after the first round...
Unlimited rice, soup, salad, the beef is delicious, and there are many choices of seasonings😻
