Reviews of Dover Court International School
We've been part of the Dover community for nearly four years, covering Nursery to Year 5, and it's been nothing short of wonderful. We all absolutely love it here.
It is an inclusive school that school prides itself on fostering diversity and creating an environment where every student feels valued and supported. The facilities are good and they have made some great improvements over the past few years with a new indoor sports hall and turfed football pitches. Their CCA (Co-Curricular Activities) program has notably improved, now offering a wide array of sports and art options.
What makes the school truly awesome, in our opinion, is the staff. Every teacher we've come across at Dover has been fantastic—hardworking, dedicated, and kind. The entire team, from the office to the teachers, are friendly and care about your child, and our children have genuinely thrived under their guidance.
We moved to Singapore during the pandemic and I can honestly say that this school has been excellent. Our kids love it here and were made to feel very welcome from the start. They have excelled academically since joining the school and I am sure that, when we look back, we will attribute a great deal of our kids' success to us choosing this school!
5.5 years here. Y5-10. January 2018-June 2023.
My thoughts on this school?
Pretty good, but not every school is perfect
Positives
+ quality teaching, GCSE and IB results speak for themselves
+ A very inclusive school
+ An environment where everyone in the year knows each other
+ Quality facilities
+ Some excellent outdoor learning, residential trips.
+ Not a lot of gangsters who smoke 5 vapes a day
But, as for the negatives:
- School can feel strict sometimes
- Pretty limited choice for IB, not every school does every subject but Dover just does the basics for IB
Random points I wanted to mention:
The school mascot is a furry so take that as you will
Science department is GOATED to say the least. Trust me when I say you will not find a better science department in any school
We found Dover after extensive search across Singapore for our 4-year old. We wanted a school with strong focus on academics, rounded up with personality development. While we did manage to filter the list of possible schools down to three, Dover stood above others with its warm, comforting environment. We've seen an evolution in our little one's personality, an increase in grasp of key concepts in English and Math, and an eagerness to take challenges head-on. We could not be happier with our selection, and have to thank the teachers and support staff for creating an inclusive and a nurturing environment for our child.
Just moved to Singapore and had been following up with DCIS for my son’s entry into year 5. Had a smooth and flawless induction into the school’s routine and campus by the admission team with prompt and helpful responses which helped us finalise our choice of school.
I went to Dover Court in 1972 as a boarder from Indonesia. Was prepatory school at the time. Many fond memories.
Great school with a fantastic community and which has gone from strength to strength over the last several years.
