I recently completed the basic drone flying course at Drone Flying Academy, and it was absolutely worth it! The course is incredibly effective, especially for beginners. It saved me a lot of time compared to learning everything online by myself. The structured lessons made understanding the basics of drone flying so much easier, and the instructors were knowledgeable and patient. Plus, they provided a safe and suitable place for practical training, which was a huge benefit. I highly recommend this course to anyone looking to get started with drones quickly and efficiently.

Good small class size course and instructors are all very experienced and knowledgeable. I have been flying other RCs before but nvr attend a proper lesson on aviation rules. I found out about Drone Flying Academy through FB. I have been interested in ariel photography. I did not have prior experience with drone photography. I attended the half day basic drone course on 31 August 2024 and it was very well organised. I have the chance to experience flying a drone using different techniques. The trainers are very experienced and knowledgeable. The theory was also well planned. I would recommend everyone who is keen to learn about drone flying to take up the course with Drone Flying Academy.

I was invited by some friends to follow a course at "Drone Flying Academy (DFA)" in order to have my first experience to fly a drone. Why not! The theory part of the course was clear & complete, well prepared and particularly interesting allowing us to understand how are the main functions to fly SAFELY a drone. The organisers was knowledgeable & most of the theory was supported by slides projected on screen. Clear & Precise. Besides, the atmosphere among the participants was very friendly and we could ask sufficient questions and received all necessary responses on how to fly a drone in Singapore. In the meantime, we were watching the weather report above MidView City Area to ensure the second part of the course to start. For the practice, I rented a drone to DFA. This one was in excellent condition with sufficient batteries to cover the practice. Frankly, it was really fun, exciting and particularly interesting on how fast we learn to fly a drone, taking off & Landing, throttle, pitch and yaw at same time, taking pictures and doing movies. All the practice course was well organised in a safe environment and very well supervised. Frankly, I very much enjoyed my time with DFA and will recommend, without a doubt, to any one who want to learn how to fly safely a drone. I spent a great time , I learnt to fly a drone and left very satisfied. Thank you DFA.

They were both very patient with us and had taught us well to gain our confidence in flying the drone. The basic drone flying course addresses the following; some indirectly and some directly 1. What drone should you buy, 2. Do's - Where and under what circumstances in SG can a drone be flown - without a permit 3. Don'ts - Where and under what circumstances in SG would flying a drone require a permit 4. Practical lets me do an honest assessment how good a drone pilot I am - in truth, not very good... Although it looks like everybody else is a born pilot 5. How far do I want to take up being a drone pilot - in order to make good videos, I would need quite a fair bit of practice These insights will probably be difficult to come by elsewhere from an impartial and professional source. Fully recommend this course for beginners and even anyone who's even thinking of getting a drone My takeaways - I will probably get a mid-range drone with some decent features... In order to avoid getting a basic drone and outgrowing it later and end up with a few beginner drones - cut down on unnecessary upgrades. I've learnt that more money buys easier flying controls of course also there's no need to wander into professional territory. So yes this course is well worth its money. Better still, it's 100% claimable from skillsfuture. During practical, instructors hover close by and step through my clumsy handling of the drone with basic movements giving me confidence and room to fly the drone. Very patiently and friendly. Enough time for discussion and to familiarise with the controls. To encourage us on our next steps, we also get to join a chat group where we can ask questions and share experiences with other aspiring drone pilots. Pretty comprehensive initiation into the world of drones

All of the 4 trainers that day were very welcoming, patient with our endless queries, explained things in details and went all out to help us in our learning session with them. I have some experience flying fixed wing RC. However, I have zero drone experience. I wanted to explore if drone is for me but do not want to buy a drone to find out. So attending the basic course offered by DFA seems like a good way to try out this new hobby. The basic course is concise. With theory and practical in the session, I think it is very useful for someone trying drone for the first time. Loads of safety and practical flying tips that are essential. If I had bought a drone and try on my own, it would have taken a longer time to understand these points, and I might crash my drone before I do. I was just curios of the drone world and without any experience but after this first basic course with the guys , may I have found really new hobby. Develop a sudden interest in drone flying and enrolled with DFA. Its was money well spent. Got a 1-on-1 with the instructor as the class for that day many of participants had rescheduled theirs. The instructor was a very patience and professional. He knows his stuff well. Lots of interactive between me and him. My queries were all answered with regards to CAAS rules and regulation, the dos and the donts of operating UAV in Singapore. But the best part of the course was the practical lesson itself. With me as the only student, my 1-on-1 with the instructor, i got more hands-on time to learn the basic maneuver of the drone itself.
