Mr Toh is a v fun and engaging tutor that always answers my questions. His tuition centre also provides snacks in case we are ever hungry during class. Mr Toh's classes are engaging and adequately covers content required in the A Level syllabus by relating it to real world events and trends. Students are also exposed to a wide variety of questions and are taught how to tackle and present our understanding. Through Mr Toh's lessons, I found that econs was not as boring as it seemed to be for there is much more to explore and consider beyond the lecture notes.

I happen to found this tuition online by chance when I felt that i seriously needed help for Economics. Furthermore, another reason I choose this tuition was because it was located near the MRT and easily accessible. The fees are also affordable and reasonable. Economics was never my favorite subject or my strongest subject. Mr Toh's lesson allowed me to gain interest in the subject and equip me with skills. Additionally, he gives notes and update us on news which is relevant to economics. These are all an additional useful information. He also give out a lot of case study and essays which allowed me to get used to the skills, allowing me to gauge if I truly grasped it. With the help of Mr Toh's lesson and my school, it has really made me more interested in Economics and allowed me to grapple with concepts better.

A few weeks before A levels, and desperate for a miracle to happen, a friend and I asked Mr Toh what else we could do to pull our Econs grades up. It had been close to one year of attending his econs tuition, and it was this close to making it or breaking it. My results were slowly improving, but surely, more could be done to somewhat guarantee a decent grade during the final exam? He suggested practicing writing FIFTY essays. Fifty! I think my mind just went into a whirlpool, and all I could think of was, how can anyone finish writing 50 essays in such a short span of time, especially when there are still other subjects to study for? But in a split second of determination, my friend and I decided to buy an A4 size notebook each to “force” ourselves to write these essays. Despite not being able to hit fifty essays (I only managed to finish around 6-7 essays each for micro and macro topics before waging war on the H2 Econs exams), I realized that it was easier to recall the definitions and examples, as compared to the start of J2. I really hated Econs then, and was still contemplating to call the number on the flyer, because I was unsure whether I wanted to face the subject even on weekends. But I’m glad I called, came, and persevered for the rest of the year. Though econs did not become a subject I loved, it evolved into something I was comfortable with writing and studying for. Mr Toh’s lessons are stress-free, even while everyone is encouraged to speak up. He turns technical terms into bite-sized bits, while we chomp on … bite-sized snacks (koped the term from Shuyi ^^). Econs was difficult because I was unable to visualize many concepts, but Mr Toh uses many local examples, and even teaches us how to choose certain examples from the National Day Rally, and the Budget. Coupled with the multiple topic summaries he asked us to complete in groups (groupwork helps you make friends!), it was much easier to understand, and answer the once-incomprehensible questions. 2013 would really have been spent in turmoil without your dedicated teachings (we know you watch NDR for us). Thank you Mr Toh!
