We had a fun morning with Sara as our teacher. Learned a bit and had a few good laughs. Our son did this earlier this year and raved about it, so we tried it as well. Definitely worth having a crack.

What better way to immerse yourself into the Singaporean culture than learning to cook their heritage food. I loved every bit of this class. Got a history lesson too. Helen was fantastic! And our food was absolutely delicious. Located in the heart of Chinatown so can go exploring or shopping afterwards.

We had a wonderful time with Ann! She is super sweet, warm and welcoming. What an incredible experience! We made curry chicken, Roti Jala and tapioca cake. It was delicious and the recipes seem easy to follow now that we have had some Instruction. One of our favorite Singapore memories. ❤️

This was an absolutely wonderful experience. Even with a large group the team at Food Playground was well prepared and ensured that each person in the group was following along in the class and walked away feeling like they were actively involved in the process. I went to food playground with no prior knowledge of how to cook Asian food. The instructor Anne was kind helpful as she gave clear instructions while teaching our class to create a main dish and desert. I had so much fun while learning to make a delicious meal. I also love the mission of employing homemakers and elderly people to share their passion in cooking. I loved the class and food so much that I’m going back for another class today!

Amazing menu and food. The chefs were so helpful and willing to share their expertise and knowledge about Singaporean food. I particularly liked how they explained all the ingredients and substitutes for what to use instead back home. A lot of the preparation was done before coming to the class which meant more time learning about the ingredients and cooking techniques and less time chopping up and doing other simple tasks most already know how to do

Absolutely amazing! Sara was very knowledgeable and helpful, shared a lot cultural details and gave insight into life and history of Singapore. The laksa was very tasty and we got great tips how to adjust it for home. The class was small and due to others cancelling there were just me and my partner, it was an incredible private cooking class. The venue was tidy and clean.

Amazing team bonding experience. Very friendly guidance from the instructors, Mary and Annie. Dishes are catered to the local palate, was an interesting experience to learn how to make laksa, char siew chicken and golden egg fried rice from hand-me-down recipes.

Great fun with work team building. We organized a mini team building with Food Playground, Amazing Race, and it was a lot of fun. Although the weather was not great it was still very fun and we got to see a lot of heritage sites and try several local dishes. I would highly recommend to use them for a team building or just family event to learn more about Chinatown. I’m addition, they do mostly cooking classes but we didn’t partake but I think it would also be good.

I took the Curry Chicken class and my instructor was Annie! This class was amazing and Annie made sure we were knowledgeable about what we were cooking and made sure that we knew how everything should look before moving to the next step. Incredible class and guaranteed tasty meal. This is our favourite place to visit when we come to Singapore, nestled in the centre of Chinatown you enjoy a fantastic cooking class focused on food culture and passing on traditional recipes. We loved making Laksa (absolutely drool worthy) and learning about the ingredients and their significance to Singapore as well as the recipe. I will always recommend this socially conscious cooking class, keeping traditional recipes alive and welcoming amazing single mother's into the workplace.

01/11/24 : Located in the close proximity of China town and tooth relic , Food playground has a very well curated team bonding activities to offer. Cooking can be fun when instructors like Helen is around you , very jovial and highly skilled .Best part is that they even have options for vegetarians like me. It’s was a unique learning experience to immerse yourself into culture of Singapore.

I had a great time without even noticing the passage of time thanks to the many pleasant and detailed explanations about local foods and ingredients. Making the food was fun, and the explanation of the ingredients and the origin of the food was fun and not boring! However, it is Singlish, not the English we know, so it requires a lot of concentration haha. The food is real!!!! It's delicious😍

You can enjoy superb cooking experience with historically mixed culture of Singapore. Mary is an energetic instructor and Daniel's hospitality is wonderful. Talking with other guests from various countries is also nice. The place is easy to access but don't miss the sign above your head. You can enjoy cooking while feeling the history of fusion in China, Malay, India... Mary's presentation and Daniel's hospitality make us feel comfortable, and we enjoy interacting with guests from all over the world. The location is easy to find, but it's on the second floor, so look up and look for the sign.

You can have the best cooking experience! Either way, you'll have a fun and delicious time. Talk is the best, and it's so easy that you can make it even if you go back to Japan.
