it all started at the end of covid 2022 , and i always wanted to try playing drums. i don’t want to go commercialised drumming schools so i sourced in social media . i spotted JMusic and i booked a trial lesson with Jason . When i found out that this drum school is an all adults only , that was spot on for me . i liked my first trial class with Jason and i signed up immediately to pursue my passion to play . It is really good for enhancing memory and coordination which helps me in my anti- aging development. Jason is patient and ensures that i perfecto in all aspects . And most importantly he kept my interest high by teaching me songs he found in my spotify album . for last 2 years , i have learned and played 7 songs and looking forward to more ! am now at grade 2 and looking forward to my grade 3 . studio and drum set are clean and neat , Come and try your trial lesson with Jason , you will be learning from a very experienced and professional teacher !

I have been learning drums with Jason at J music for 2 years now and it has been an amazing journey! Unfortunately I had to end my lessons for now due to personal reasons but if I were to continue my drum journey I will not hesitate to return here. Jason is a strict but patient instructor who works very hard to make sure his students get the most out of the lessons. Instead of just doing endless drills he would give me regular contemporary songs to play which kept me motivated and inspired me to continue progressing in my drum journey. He would always check with me if I was ok with the song or if I had any preference for a certain language or genre of music. Jason would even spend some personal time helping me transcribe songs that I wanted to learn despite his busy schedule and was always a whatsapp message away! If you have always wanted to learn drums don’t hesitate any further and give J music a try! It will be a challenging yet fulfilling journey but one thing you can be sure of is that you are in good hands.

i learnt the drums from Jason for the past 3 or so years and my experience has been a fulfilling one😊 from the get go, it was clear that Jason is a dedicated drummer and teacher who takes much pride in his craft. as someone without substantial background in music, he was patient in teaching the basics and makes it a point to revisit them in a timely manner to ensure that a good foundation is built. during his lessons, he is attentive and makes the effort to point out errors and demonstrate how to correct them. the syllabus is made clear to you and lesson materials progress in a systematic manner to ensure that you have sufficient coverage for the particular grade. overall, Jason’s studio is a great place to start learning how to play the drums and i would recommend him to anyone who is interested in trying their hand at a new instrument 😊

I found J music through their covers on Youtube and I’ve been with them for over a year now. I can say with full confidence that whether you’re a beginner with minimal music experience or an experienced drummer looking to further your studies, J music is one of the best. The materials provided are very structured, easy to follow and engaging. Instructor Jason is patient when teaching and dedicated to ensuring that his students learn as much as they can to the best of his abilities. What kept me motivated to practice was the scores given to me in between going through lesson materials. Whenever I requested to learn a song (that was of an appropriate difficulty level), Instructor Jason would transcribe it for me to learn in another lesson. It made me want to practice diligently in order to be able to play the songs I wanted to well. Overall, I’ve progressed so much as a drummer under the guidance of him and J music and I would highly recommend this music school :D

Jason is an awesome teacher who will make the learning journey super enjoyable and so rewarding. He is extremely good at adapting to your own speed of progression and gives you the right challenges so that you can step up gradually to whole new levels. His professionalism is pretty outstanding. He follows every student very carefully and you can feel a perfect continuity between every lesson. I personally started from scratch and I now can see all the progresses made in just a couple of months like I would have never expected. I highly recommend this drums school. Joined J Music since 2019. Jason has been a great trainer in coaching with high standards. He is passionate and well versed with his craft and provides guidance to suit to your learning style without compromising the standard. Beside learning the craft, Jason would also share his knowledge on other resources to assist you in better workflow during drumming. He will always encourage and willingly go through the workflow on how to create your own drum cover for self improvement. It is more than just a typical drumming session. Jason created his own materials and are very structured and easy to follow. He is generous in sharing the resources he created to help one to be engaged in drumming and be a better drummer. Each week he will try to introduce new song and unknowingly you will learn quite a handful of songs in just a term! The studio is clean and spacious with enough room for movement. The equipment provided is top-notch and well maintained suitable for the students. If you are looking into learning drumming, try out J Music!

I have been a student at J Music for over 2+ years and I can proudly say I have grown a lot in my drumming. Mr Jason has helped me not only to improve my feet and hand coordination around the kit, but more importantly enhance my musicality in which, even without a score I'm able to improvise and apply everything he has thought me to create my own drum part. I chanced upon J Music Studio while searching for private drums lessons online after having not as fulfilling an experience in a previous drum school. It's been a 2 year plus journey with Jason and it has been incredibly rewarding. Jason holds both himself and his students to high standards. Having the skills and the ability to teach are 2 separate skill sets, and as a teacher myself, I can assuredly say that he is highly skilled in both areas. It has been exactly one year for me learning drums from J Music. As a 64 years old student, I would describe the journey- sweet and sour. It is tough in terms of poor co-ordination due to my age, which means I need more time on practice. Since I have been working from home, I can schedule to practice 2 times a day, 45 minutes each session. I arrange to practice songs in the morning and practice the techniques in the evening for those areas I do not do well. Now, I can play 22 songs which are mostly Grade 1 songs as well as one song (by Beyond band) which I specially requested from Jason, my trainer. I am completing Grade 1 this month. The more I learn and the more I find it tough and hard because of the variety of speed, grooves, beats and fill-ins and other techniques. At the same time, I find it enjoyable and satisfying. I have learnt the most is from song recording arranged by J Music, during which Jason articulately corrected all my errors which were unnoticed during my own practice. Every song recording, I would say it really added value to my drum skills. It is one of the good exercises provided by J Music. Now, playing drum is part of my life. I dream to be a "good" drummer at the age of 70. Wait and see. Cheers.

Student at J Music for 2 years and counting... Grateful to have found J Music to start my journey in drumming. It has been crazy (in a good way). I had hesitations to start as I had zero music knowledge and was bad at multi-tasking. On top of that, being worried that picking up a new hobby will be difficult for me to cope for someone who just stepped out into the working world. Since then I have learnt to read scores, transcribe songs, play to my favorite songs and record my own drum covers. Most recently I have also passed my Grade 4 exams. However, it wasn't all flowery through this journey. I had to dedicate time to practise. Grooves, fills, rhythm, speed, hand-leg coordination and independence were all unfamiliar to me. There were a lot of times where I became impatient, frustrated, demoralised and demotivated to practise as it was too difficult. But practising is the only way to improve and nothing beats the satisfaction of overcoming it which makes all the practising worth. I am taught by Teacher Jason who is patient and encouraging but strict too. He is attentive and always tend to notice the small little details where I can improve on. He writes his own lesson materials in a systematic way so that students can follow easily. He also provide scores of the latest songs so lessons are not boring at all. Sometimes he will record drum covers of students and upload them to J Music's social media (IG, FB, Youtube). He makes himself available to answer questions that students have. I have also send him my own drum cover for his comments. All in all, J Music provides a very good learning environment for both first time learners and current dummers. Take the first step, you never know what you will get into :)

Having had interest to learn music in my teenage years, I barely gave serious thought to put it into action. I took some guitar lessons but couldn’t continue further and that was it. In my late twenties, I was afraid to make that leap battling questions within myself about my ability and time management. Come 30, my guilt grew as I procrastinated but I developed an inclination towards drumming. That lead me to JMusic. Booked a trial lesson with Jason and from there on I practised progress. Jason was skilled to train young adults/adults with patience. The materials provided were crafted to train core skills and his tips often helped me correct myself. A great experience so far!

Signed up for drum lessons and gained an outstanding teacher and a good friend...Talk about value for money 🤭 Jason's highly adaptable teaching methods have helped me overcome "drumming blocks" (is there a proper name for it??). Practice is key, but he's shown there is more than one way to get past difficult exercises. That, to me, is very important in a teacher. Then, there are his meticulously-written textbooks demonstring his systematic  approach.That's a whole other thing! And as luck would have it, he turned out to be very comfortable person to be around, and voilà! I now also have a friend in him! I foresee a longterm drumming relationship with J Music Studio! ⭐⭐<... two extra stars!
