I am not a local but I usually drop in to Sheares whenever I am in town (4-5 times a year) to stock up on 5.11 gear, some tac gear and the odd Spyderco folder if they have something that catches my eye. In terms of the opening hours, I have usually been lucky (?) that the shop is open when I drop by. The stock for 5.11 and Blackhawk is not bad, as a comparison they had more 5.11 Apex and Ridge pants choices then the 5.11 agents in both Melbourne AND Taiwan. Prices are certainly not cheap, but competitive in terms of US prices and exchange rates. Likewise on the Spyderco front, they sometimes have a limited run colour or steel item that is priced reasonably competitively with regional prices and US retail prices if you take into account shipping to Singapore or Asia. As for staff, I have dealt with the usual bald chap (Ronald?) and also a Malay chap (Zul?). Both have been civil and always made the best effort to find the sizing and colour combo I was looking for. I have never been refused an item on the basis of Military/LE only so far. My apologies if the names are wrong, age catches up to us all.

Very friendly staff and owner. Went there primarily for the swords and knives and the owner was more than willing to share a wealth of info on the history of his products. Was also offered a discount everytime I made a purchase from there. Recommended if you are looking to purchase high-end knives and swords at a very reasonable price.

Knives and EDC galore! Sales advisors are very welcoming and knowledgeable. I was served by Jon whom very helpful and patience. I handled a lot of knives (Kershaw, Spyderco, ZT, Cold Steel to name a few) without any problem. Highly recommended!!

One of the pioneer for tactical products in Singapore......they now carry most of the major brands like 5.11, Blackhawk, Surefire, SOG etc Definitely not the cheapest price but they are very well stock and fill with choices and alternatives. No pressure given when u tryout the products so anyone can ensure u will like what u pay for.
