Reviews of Beach Road Army Market
Fried Kway Teow offers customers to add on fried silver fish, prawns. Its cockles are not too overly cooked, the dish is tasty.
A cup of coffee to perk up for the rest of the day - coffee is very thick as the owner utilizes a machine but is served in a small cup, hence it can be rather sweet, so better ask for seow dai for those who don't have much of a sweet bud.
You will be spoilt for food choice. Personally I think the best hawker center in Singapore. We should have such more hawker center.
In order to know if the place is great, why not you pop over at checkout in your opinion. 🤭😜😅
Some of foods here are really good. Fish soup. Chicken claypot. Chicken rice. Burgers etc etc. N the new Dozo donuts at 60cents, really worth it n tasty...
This is one of the BEST Clean hawker in Singapore. I really mean it. Look at my photos. Most of the tables are not ONLY Clean but Very Well Clean! Superb! Kudos to all the cleaning crews there.
A good place to find a wide variety of camping equipment and inexpensive backpacks. However, always check the prices online first though. The bags might also not be original.
It is also a place to add zippers to your bags. The fee should be around 10 to 20, depending on the length and size of the zipper.
Some construction companies and marine firms also do their safety vests here.
Do check out the food at the hawker centre below as it has many hawkers with a long history.
Great place to make the id tags for army. Done within 5 mins.
Very nice and reasonably priced food including 5 star hotel premium coffee and Western gourmet.
Good place to get your Outdoors / Camping / Traveling Needs. And great good at level . 👌🏼
The worst is that level 2 do not have a ram to lead to level 2. Which lots of Heavy duty goods need to be transport up. Renovated but never consider the Level 2 tenants which is selling great outdoor camping products.
Dun know what the MP here are doing..
Many value for money Great local food n burger. Die die must try hor.
I brought my son here for a tour of the army market and find interesting stuff there. From uniforms to equipment, my son love the army and after the army open house last week, I decided to bring him to the army market to let him pick an item. He bought a airborne badge which he holds like it a tokem. I hope this place continue to have stalls like this. Hidden gem and educational and not to forget the food at the lower level.
Lot .me. Go. Eat. Easty nice fast sevices
Nice place to eat .Thank God lot of Fan and we'll place Happy to be there again. with friends 6 nos
Bought a LT army insignia.
Just like the old saying goes" OLD is GOLD". However, this place just deliver to the present flamboyant youths crave.
If you have the old mindset (90s or early 20s), then you will be disappointed. Most business have embarked into e-commerce & hence business there is badly affected.
Nevertheless, you can still get the necessities basic equipment & do your sewing etc.
Really nice old fashioned Hawker Centre. Today i went to have this popular local dish "Lor Mee". Not too much noodle but generous misc bits eg pork, fishcake etc for the price $3-$5. The owner is quite lovely too.
Get the $3 if you're just wanting to try. $4 is perfect just to get extra bits like fried fish skin.
PS: Go in the morning to avoid crowds. They close at 130pm or till sold out.
There are 3 coffee shops literally 5 seconds away from each other selling your typical teh / coffee + toast + eggs @ 50% cheaper than Toast Box / Ah Koon.
The lowest level (the place is kind of designed in Mezzanine style) has a chicken rice store. It opens at 1130am, and you can't miss the queue. Go at 11am to preorder. The lovely lady has shortish colored hair. Really nice and authentic flavor.
Note : it was recently renovated so sculpt around for the chicken rice with queue.
Let's support our Unesco Heritage😄🤭
This place used to be a place for army recruits to get additional military supplies. Lately it has dwindled . On the basement floor and 1 st floor catered the hawkers selling cooked food. U can the famous prawns and ikan bilis wadai at B1 and also the famous mutton tulang food. Parking lots is limited and have to queue to get into the carpark at lunchtime.
This place has several very well desired hawker fare, and is especially attractive one can venture upstairs after a hearty meal to shop and browse for all sorts of adventure/hiking/ & military surplus goods! Must be unique in the whole world!
First time visiting there, best & cheap tailor service. For NSFs can make extra name tags here bags are also quite cheap here. Got myself a D&G sling bag for $7.There were a few ring shops and an amulet shop which I didn't visit.
Good experience. Ah Balling still taste as good. Similar to the Claypot rice and cooling coconut water. 3rd level army market was a little quiet when I was there.
Very nice local food. Must try at basement #B1-35 Hainanese Boneless Chicken rice and #B1-34 Hainan Fried Hokkien Prawn mee.
Note: Dec 2020 to Feb 2021 food centre closed for renovation.
Variety of food's to choose from. WeDang Malay food stall is my pick for the day. Nice Gado-2 & Tahu Goreng, cheap and delicious. Btw the food Center need a nice renovation.
A haunt from times gone by. Not just the market but the surroundings. It's a great place to go to mingle with the people, as well as to absorb what life was before the hustle and bustle. Don't drive, the car parks are always full.
You can't go wrong when you visit a Hawker Centre that has been around Singapore's early days. Do try the Beef noodles, Hokkien Mee, Claypot rice, Original Vadia, Tauhu goreng, etc... as well as the old school desserts such as soya jelly (tau huay) & Grass Jelly (chin chow). Enjoy!!
A good place to source out for our army equipment needs. Applicable to camping needs too.
Some of the stores operate till 8pm.
Previously had a bad personal encounter with store #02-158 for engraving services.
So my advice is to go with precautions.
Other than that, the store owners there are generally nice and are able to cater to your needs.
You can get any military accessories and clothing here top floor of the beach road hawker centre.
Place has not changed much in 20+ years
Good affordable food in the city and some army items shopping. Nostalgia
Lots of good and cheap food. Fishballs noodles, fish soup, curry chicken noodles, yong tau Foo, beef noodles, fried hokkien noodles, duck rice, a couple of chicken rice, lor mee and chilli noodles. Not forgetting Indian and Muslim food.
Enjoy the following food. lv2 stalls - chilli noodle (prawn), char kway teow, tuan yuan. Lv1 - fried hokkien mee. Nvr really explore other food yet. Limited parking lots.
Had been to this place to change the name tag for my son's uniform. Good service and quality.
Old school hawker centre with lots of stalls and variety. Char kway teow, yong tau fu, chin chow, kopi, hokkien mee are all excellent. Tasty and pocket friendly.
Still one of the gear places to get great economical local food.
On the third floor are shops catering to our local army guys, or for outdoor adventurers. Great selection of outdoor/camping equipment, and army related stuffs.
The All in one place for your outdoor activities stuffs. Parking is hellish though. Go to other alternative carpark if possible. Peak hours are worse.
Good place to eat some beef & tendons noodles, chicken curry noodles, char kway teow and ah ball lings!
Many stalls are not taken. Such a drastic change! Back in the early 2000s, this was the go-to for all camping/fishing/army needs.
Definitely a place to visit regardless if you are a tourist or local. Good spread of local food cooked by locals. Do support our hawker heritage!
There are many stories selling various types of NS equipment. The vendors here are friendly and are proactive in asking you what you are looking for before directing you to the relevant store.
Should try the Turkish Kebab Stall at the basement. Try the butter rice and many more. Price very reasonable. Portion is big also.
Traditional for all NS guys at one or more points in their service. Super long queues for specific stalls but Indian fare is fast moving and varied. Try the basement for some surprises!
For those looking to make name tags and insignia. There are many stalls doing them roughly takes about 20mins. They do not make ranks as it's illegal for them to make now.
Food prices are ok for most stalls. Avoid lunch time as it is crowded and very hot.
Carpark always full. Many variety of food. Price very reasonable. Breakfast set only $2.50 is harder to find nowadays.
plenty plenty of food to choose from - western, chinese, malay, Indian; soap, rice, meat, spagetti, coffee, muffin, etc.
Not bad char kway teow with vegetables Michelin recommended hawker.
Old but gold. Best food around. The army market losing its charm due to online businesses but still the place to go for urgent purchase of camping or army items
Very cool for some military type paraphernalia. Its an interesting hawkers market where you can get all sorts of camo gear, pouches, backpacks, carabiner, knives etc...
I'm gonna go explore there again.
THE Place for army/ field/ outdoors equipment for generations of servicemen, campers and preppers. Now, still hanging on... a pale shade of its former self and glory, slowly dying by strangulation by large commercial interests. Still, I love this place, and still come down to visit friends-stall holders, and because there's been a revival of sorts, with new stores and genres popping up. Hopefully, they can ride out this slump with our help- come check it out, and patronise them! Oh, remember the Name Tag stall? I figure he's been aroung at least 40 years!! 😵 Now, That's history!
Old school cooking at most stores here. Never get disappointed in general. There is a claypot rice which is a family favorite at this location
Despite its compact sizes, there are many worthy stalls to queue for good selections of food. Both Chinese and Malay stalls.
There is a lot of nice food here. I love the Prawn Meet and their Chicken Rice.
Great place to buy army relates accessories. They got a food court below which sells really good food. Only complain is the building is too old and requires a makeover
2 levels of decent food. Typical food centre but not as hot. Parking can be a little challenging.
Interesting range of outdoor, military equipment available here.
Mainly to eat at the food center. Tried the beef noodles on the second floor. Delicious 😋
Same as my review in golden mile hawker centre. It's the sane place
Old school complex with variety of eateries and oudoor / uniformed military necessities 👍👍👍👍👍
Number of food stalls,offering local delights.Fried Kway Teow,Hainanese Beedf Noodle,Hokkien mee,desert stall,muffin store
So impressive and worth a visit if you are to claim truly that you visited Singapore!
This beach road army market had been here since late seventy, currently the place is cleaner and more comfortable, nearby Nicoll highway mrt station
Beach Rd will always be one of the best places to visit for Tactical Army/Police stuffs etc. Food is also the best!
Nice and cheap heartland hawker centre.
Many good and cheap hawker stalls.. beef noodle, char kuey teow, curry noodle on level 2...
I personally like the food here, it reminds me the taste of 80s👍👍👍
Good! You can find food and army stuff here.
The dark green tank tops, T-shirts, red and white, and blue and white tank tops that Singaporean adult men love to wear. Although it was issued during military service, the genuine item is sold, not a replica. Military uniforms are also sold, but the authenticity of these is unknown. It seems that active duty military personnel and young children who are serving in the military come to buy them, so they are cheap at $7 for tank tops and $8 for shorts. It's a little fun even if it's not military style.
Once a while eat steak kuah and mee kuah, wonderful👍👍🤗🤗
First time eating red bone soup which tastes really unique
This hawker center is three stories high. In addition to selling all kinds of food downstairs and on the second floor, the third floor sells military supplies and various daily necessities.
Nasi goreng. Score good service. But the food is not satisfactory
Because of YouTube, there are delicious noodles here, finally walked here, lots of food stalls, standard prices, yummi, worth a try
An older market with military supplies on the second floor and more Indian and Malay food on the ground floor.
Golden Building Hawker Center has a wide variety of food at affordable prices.
