All the vets mentioned above are very emphatic, especially Dr Chua who was the first to attend to Ninja, holding her professionalism and show great empathy was what i needed the most. We’ve been here multiple times (unfortunately for my pup) and the vet team (vets and nurses) and the front desk have always been nothing but excellent. You can tell that they genuinely care for the patients. They have always been extremely patient when it comes to answering our myriad of questions. I must have called countless times and they have always attended to me tirelessly. My pup was hospitalized for quite an extended period of time and they have taken such good care of him. I am deeply grateful for the love and care that the vets and the nurses have shown my pup and for the constant updates (twice daily) which always put my mind to ease. Do note that they are an emergency unit and they are always busy attending to patients as most of them require urgent/immediate medical attention. As such, there are times when they will be unable to attend to you immediately so do give them some time to follow up. They are very experienced and are very upfront with the possible diagnostic tests that your pet might require. This definitely helps to give you a clearer picture of the situation and also the costs that would be incurred. Cost of treatment and hospitalization may seem high but keep in mind that you are paying for excellent and professional services with that extra touch of warmth to make your pets feel comfortable despite being in pain/feeling distressed. I called the clinic, before my parents brought our 17 year old Shih Tzu to the clinic at 4am. The team at Westside emergency were very assuring even on the phone, they patiently shared about the possible medical solutions that they will suggest upon hearing that Bingo has suffered a stroke. My parents arrived at the clinic at 5am, the team at Westside, attended to them with the best of their ability. It’s a difficult moment for the family, when we decided that putting Bingo to sleep will be the best for him, because of the condition he was in. My parents are moved by the kindness and gentleness of the team at Westside! Thank you for making it easier for us amidst this sad moment

9 months Pom swallowed a broken piece of toothpick - which we feared could poke his organs - and we called them for help. Over the phone, they advised timing to see us as they have other emergency cases if we went down. Other emergency vets could not take us or need too long. We are glad we went to West Side Vet. Professional. They saw our Pom and suggested options. They understood the urgency to get the stick out before it flowed further in his tummy. They squeezed him in for treatment and made him threw out his tummy content. No surgery thankfully. All went well. We learned that as pawrents, important to be as detailed in our description and be cool as possible. Like how we would approach doctors for humans. Their fees were reasonable considering midnight, attention and emergency case. While super busy, they helped things move. Thank you for being available and your hard work. 🙏🐶

My dog Nike had a different long seizure that night around 4.30am and the condition was only brought under control by the vet at Westside after some time. Though this was the first time we brought him to Westside for emergency compared to another hospital, the professionalism and care from the hearts of every vet and nurse we met during the 2 days at the clinic reassured us that he was given the best emergency treatment. Thank you for helping him and the family go through the most difficult time of his life away from home and the after service given to us when he was home. He was deeply missed and will remain in our hearts forever. Please continue the great service and professionalism.

We have (unfortunately) had to use their services several times in the year we’ve had our cats - once for a bad cut that needed stitches and overnight hospitalization, one for swallowed mask strings, and once a call consult where they walked us through how to stop our cat’s bleeding nail ourselves. Every experience has been professional, thorough, and reassuring through some pretty gnarly experiences as new pet parents. The costs are high but reasonable for the emergency nature of the services, and the staff have been enormously helpful and professional. We really hope our visits to them are done but if we do have any other incidents then we feel confident we’re in good hands.

Dr Lee and Team are efficient, caring and patient. Brought our puppy in on Saturday evening, frantic as he was tired and had been puking. Front staff was calm, collected and warm, and managed to bring Ajax into the clinic without issue. Dr Lee met with us after diagnosing Ajax and answered all our (my rather inane) questions with much patience and subject mastery. Vet tech who issued the medication was equally caring and knowledgeable. The whole experience was made less terrifying by their professional yet warm dispositions. Ajax is now back to his usual self and doing well! :) I must also acknowledge that consultation price was made known at the onset of our visit so that there is no issue later when it came to payment. Thank you, team at Westside Emergency! :)

The most professional services we had ever experienced. Each and every vet was calm, polite and really passionate in intensive care. Their communication was clear and they were willing to repeat and clarify all questions we had. Thank you for the best experience during a very difficult time over the last 2 days. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Dr Lee Xiaojia and team for their professional expertise, skills, and most importantly, care towards my cat Prima. Unfortunately , by the time I brought Prima to them she was already extremely ill and could not be saved without significant discomfort and sacrifice towards her quality of life. I'm extremely grateful to Dr Lee for accurately diagnosing and acknowledging the pain and distress Prima was in when I brought her in, having been dismissed by another specialist vet the day before. Dr Lee did not hesitate to consider and perform extensive checks on Prima to appropriately diagnose her with late stage cancer (despite previous vets immediately dismissing that possibility). She also explained the situation with great detail and tact after every examination. This made me feel assured that Prima was in knowledgable and responsible hands, and that we were not wrong in our assumption that she was in great amounts of suffering - which is very difficult to detect in a cat. This ultimately helped my family and I to make the difficult decision to euthenise her so that she may finally be at peace as she has been miserable for the past week and a half. While some of the reviews here mentioned a lack of empathy, I highly disagree. Being an emergency vet is a very stressful and at times difficult job, especially to explain the situation to distressed owners. Dr Lee rationally assesses the situation and explains multiple possibilities, treatments, and resulting quality of life of pets who are sometimes unable to show outward signs of discomfort. Dr Lee and team handled the situation tactfully but rationally as the profession necessitates, which is the best that they could have done in these tense situations. I believe this is the place to go in situations where complex and critical medical issues arise to get expert medical opinion (or second opinions if necessary). My only regret is not coming here sooner. Westside Emergency Vet provides a level of care, medical diagnosis and treatment that your pet needs.

I took my labrador to Westside Emergency after she had ingested pieces of a toy ball which contained batteries and LED lights, since my usual vet clinic was not open at the time. She was promptly handled with care, and Dr. Tan Kate Lin was very clear, thorough, and sensible in her consultation with me. I highly recommend this place.

My dog was suffering from a very bad infection to the right eye in the morning of 23 Dec and then later into the afternoon, her left eye also starting to show sign of infection. We called many vet clinics in the West however most are fully booked for the next few days with one only have slot for the next morning. Desperate, I called Westside Emergency and Dr Max Boulay answered my call. After describing my dog’s condition, he suggested we bring her to the clinic. We reached about 7:00pm and Nurse Jane help took care of our dog and Dr Max diagnosed that she was having a very bad eye infection and need immediate treatment thereafter (about 40 min later) we brought our dog home, and continue to apply the eye cream. After 24 hours, our dog was up and about and both her eyes now are looking much better. We will monitor for the next few days. Just wanted to thank Dr Max Boulay and Nurse Jane for such quick response and professionalism in treating our dog. Kudos to the team!!!

Brought my cat in for an emergency check after a collar accident that left him bleeding and panting hard. The vet was extremely patient in answering all our questions and they provided regular updates which I appreciated a lot. They were very transparent about their costs, which weren't cheap, but the treatment worked for our cat and he was well taken care of

Our mini pinscher was looked after by the staff at Westside during a long weekend. We honestly couldn't ask for better care. We were referred to them by our regular drs at the Animal Clinic Clementi for her overnight stay. The good thing about the staff at Westside is that they take the time to explain things to you and don't try to hardsell any expensive treatments. They are sensitive to the fact that people will find their services costly and do explain their rationale and treatment plan, and the cost. When we went to see our minpin the next day, we were very satisfied that both the night vet and the day vet took really good care of her. They were very patient and thorough in answering our questions. The hospital facilities are clean and open, and they do make sure that the animals staying there are comfortable (as much as possible). The room where the animals are warded is not too hot or cold. In our opinion, the cost of 24h emergency care may be expensive, but based on the care our dog has received so far, we feel that it is justified.
