Reviews of N & I Asia Pte Ltd
We bought this zojirushi rice cooker when our old rice cooker of similar design broke down just days before the Chinese New Year. Other brands had been sold out at Courts Megastore so we ended up with this Zojirushi. Been using it pretty often every week for cooking black rice, brown rice, grains & steamed dishes. However, we would have preferred one that doesn’t have the non-stick coating because the rice debris would just remain stuck at the sides and bottom of the pot even though we soaked it with water immediately after dishing out all the cooked rice. That’s even after we used a non-abrasive sponge to try to clean off the food stains. And we actually found a way to work around a big problem that we first had with this model of rice cooker - usage is extremely messy because the rice vapour which had a foam like or bubbly appearance while cooking, would ooze out uncontrollably from the lid and the round air vent found on the glass lid. It was a real nightmare. There would be spillage all over the kitchen console all the way down to the floor. To work around the disaster, we actually wrapped a thick long towel over the glass lid to soak up all the vapour & whatever rice scum generated while the food is still in the cooking mode. When we feedback to the zojirushi promoter at Courts megastore, she actually claimed that we didn’t know how to cook using this product and that there should be at least 2 cups of rice in the cooker to prevent such things from happening. We have used 3-4 cups of rice each time but why is this still happening?? We found it puzzling as we have been using such traditional looking rice cookers for over 2 decades and this one proved to be a challenge to use. Additionally, there is always water trapped on the underside of the hand knob screwed onto the top of the glass cover - quite a hassle for us to have to unscrew it after each use to drain out the water that has condensed in there having to do so after using it every time. This makes cooking with the rice cooker a hassle. Once this rice cooker spoils, we would definitely not buy any other rice cookers under this brand. Pricing for this rice cooker doesn’t come cheap too given the amount of mess created while it cooks and the amount of cleaning required thereafter. Not recommended.
Average service. Rice cooker spoilt less than 2 months after repair and have to bring down again. Waste of time. Should have just replace with a new one as still under warranty.
Staff are friendly. Good job.
