Reviews of Victoria Bakery
We chanced upon Victoria Bakery as we were supposed to go to yakun just opposite, but there was such a long queue that we gave up.
As SG locals, we were presently surprised by the standards of the pastries at Victoria Bakery (V+B)
We found out that the pastries chefs are from HK, which explained why it was soo good.
Me and my wife were really glad we didn't go to yakun and chanced upon VB.
Give it a try, we liked the polo bun and the charsiew pastries the most.
The drinks are a tad expensive but it's really good. (still cheaper than Starbucks lah)
Really great experience, eat here before it gets crowded!
**Hidden gem alert
Who says buns are just buns? Not here at Victoria Bakery.
Made fresh on the spot their buns are different from the usual local BT and SH buns.
First, they are "solid" - not airy BT or dreary SH. Midway between the heavy European bread and limp local buns, they have the oomph and the ahhhh. Flavored and substantial, they really satisfies.
Their luncheon meat buns have the the thickest and yummiest slab of luncheon meat AND a folded slice of cheese. See my photo. Their polo buns tasted authentic (as in HK). We bought 8 buns for $20 and regretted the next morning - about $2.50 each. Should have bought more!
Tucked into a discrete corner of swanky Marina Square (opposite Ya Kun, next to LALU) most people will miss it at their peril.
Ya. Unfortunately we live in Jurong, for otherwise I would be dropping by every other week. And will bypass Yakun and have kopi here. Sigh
I stumbled upon this charming bakery-café in Marina Square while in search of some coffee. As I sat sipping my drink, I noticed that many customers were opting for the Hong Kong Bo Lo Bun, which piqued my curiosity. I decided to try the char siew Bo Lo Bun and a Japanese red bean bun. To my delight, both were exceptionally tasty, rivaling even the ones I’ve had in Hong Kong. The quality of the ingredients really stood out; the char siew and red bean fillings were flavorful and of high quality, making each bite a pleasure.
However, the coffee didn’t quite hit the mark for me. It’s the only aspect that I believe could use some improvement to make this place perfect. If they can elevate their coffee to match the excellence of their buns, this bakery-café would be an unbeatable spot. Despite this, I highly recommend their baked goods, especially the buns, for a truly enjoyable treat.
Omg! What a place. We discovered Victoria Bakery while staying at Pan Pacific as an alternative to their own breakfast. Now I do love a coffee and pastry breakfast and I wasn't disappointed. There is a large selection and everything I had was freshly baked and very tasty. You should also try their HK Egg tarts.
I recently tried the Butter Bo Luo Bao and it was absolutely delicious!
However, I think it would have been even better if it had been served warm since it was freshly baked.
Additionally, I wished that the morning set promotion allowed for the option of selecting Sea Salt Coffee, or at the very least, allowed for a top-up of the price difference.
Nonetheless, I still highly recommend trying the Butter Bo Luo Bao at this establishment!
Reviewing on the egg tarts and hk egg tarts only.
Bought both to try and I would say go for the hk egg tarts. For $2.60 each, the hk egg tart has a more crispy and buttery crust that complements the nice and mildly sweet centre.
The normal egg tarts are alright but I prefer the crust for the hk egg tarts.
Good clean relaxing vibe. Good bread selection that tasted fine, but flat white coffee was watered and bland, pretty terrible (and small) cup of coffee.
Char siew buluo bun was good! Char siew is minced, moist and not fatty. Taste of HK. Highly recommended to give a try.
Only had a coffee here, but I plan to come back for sure. The salted coffee (iced) was yummy for sure. Reminded me a lot of salted coffee you get in Vietnam. The pastries looked and smelled amazing, so can’t wait to come back.
Love its char siew bolo bun and cream coconut breads.
The bun contains more than enough char siew! So delicious 😋🤤
I bought the Char Siew soh, cheese tarts and HK egg tarts, taste good! I will say, better than the Kxx... packaging are presentable too.
Very tasty bread and drinks! The bakery heats up the bread for you if you are having it in the store👍🏼 will definitely go back again
Cocanut tart & egg tart are the best that I have seen in Singapore & their price are reasonable. The taste are better than most local & HK famous brands that have outlets in Singapore.
Love ❤️ Love ❤️ Love Victoria Bakery!! I wish you had a store in Scotland. One day I WILL be back!
5 stars for their char siew sou
(Roast pork pastry), rememberto ask them to heat it up for crispy pastry. Have not tried the rest of the items.
There is a variety of bread and they all tastes good! But coffee very disappointing. $6 taste worst than $3 vending machine coffee / office free coffee
Really great bakery, probably one of the best egg tarts easily in SG, both the egg/ crust was amazing, egg was super silky, and crust was very crispy.
Bolo buns & croissants - would defo recc as well!
Happened to pass by and went in to try their food. Egg tart is good. Char siew crispy bun is excellent. Both my kids love it. Polo char siew bun is also great. Will go back to try other bread next time. The price is on the high side but acceptable to me.
The egg tarts weren’t that good but their buns are to die for! Can’t go wrong with any of the options
5 star bakery items, 3 star drinks
Egg tart not too bad
Egg tarts are good and authentice, great customer service too!
Pleasantly surprised by their bread! I bought a bunch and had them at home. Even better after warming it up
I love this place!! The cheese stick is absolutely delicious!! I love it so much! For sure recommend
Wow. Been here at least once a day amazing quality food great service
Wonderful , great prices, delicious, super clean, definitely the place to have breakfast. Will repeat!
Crispy char siew bolo buns. Coffee so-so
We were looking for a quick place to catch a break and get a croissant and coffee
Our request:
Cheese croissant 4/5
Cheese stick (3/5).
(3/5) Japanese sea salt
The eye shows gratitude in it, meaning there is support in it
Cocoa Cupcake (4/5)
And Americano coffee
But they did not have anything other than regular milk. They did not have “almond” milk, lactose free
The barbecued pork is delicious.
