Reviews of 中国大包
D.Happened to walk by on a Sunday morning and decided to get some food as it looked authentic. This was one of the very few shops open on a Sunday morning in the area. Operated by Mainland Chinese nationals and quite a number of PRCs purchasing breakfast there.
Beef bun ($1) while cheap, had very little filling not very well marinated. The bun itself was also bland. Not sure if it’s meant to be the case in China.
The 豆沙餅 (red bean pastry) for $1.50 was very good. Not too sweet, mildly flaky, fresh pastry, crunchy exterior and lightly sweetened dough. It was also quite huge. I enjoyed this very much which rendered a 4-star rating despite the lacklustre beef bun.
This is a buy and go shop. No place to sit down and eat. You may take the food to the nearby coffeeshops in the area.
