Reviews of Group Therapy Coffee - Cross Street Exchange
Wonderful place for breakfast or brunch. Delicious food and great tea and coffe. Very kind and friendly service. Highly recommended
Nice spacious relaxing ambience, serves excellent coffee and nice tasting food. Ordered the Big Plate with poached eggs and English muffins, also the Skinny Eggs Benedict. Loved the Big Plate, comes in good portion. Skinny eggs comes with smoked salmon, smashed avocado and poached eggs on toast, nice choice if you're a salmon lover. Strongly recommend this place.
Went here on a Sunday for a brunch after a workout. So, portion-wise as you can see can definitely fulfill your hunger. We ordered the big breakfast and crepes with smoked salmon. Lattes for us (actually the other one is matcha) and ended the brunch with a sweet pandan malaka cake (served hot). Overall it was a great experience dining here. Food was outstanding to my opinion. Vibe is good (there’s a lot of natural lighting) and servers were friendly.
Haven't visited Group Therapy since their days at Duxton - and back then I don't remember them having such an extensive menu. It seems like they've tried to put a healthy spin on the mains here.
Truffle carbonara was dry and apart from the truffle aroma, tasted rather bland. Crayfish mac & cheese wasn't creamy either - GT's version is drier and baked in a shallow wide pan. If you like the baked cheese crust that usually covers only the top of mac & cheese, you'll probably like this.
Regular brunch items were good though - crepes with smoked salmon, coffee, and of course their carrot cake - GT's version is moist, heavy on the spice (which I love), and not too sweet.
We had create our own plate. you can choose your own breakfast items.
Food was awesome and wholesome. Felt healthy eating the food and didn't feel jer-lat from the food. Ordered 3 mains for 4 girls and it was just nice. We had the pumpkin pancake (highly recommended!), crepe with creamy mushroom (yummy too) and wagyu ribeye steak bowl (beef was a little tough, but the mixture of ingredients was nice). We'll be back!
Friend recommendation so we went there for a dinner gathering, variety of food is there however the staff all stay in the kitchen n none of them came out to greet n assist us which I find the shop is "cold". Truffle smells gd but their pasta not cook enough as is quite hard, cooking not consistent cos we ordered 2 different pasta but 1 is ok and the other is not.
Good brunch and afternoon tea place. The place is located at level 2. Very spacious with high tables, low tables and sofa. Food is ok. I ordered bacon aglio olio. Bacon is a bit salty.
Lovely coffee place, slightly difficult to find but totally worth it.
Great coffee, lovely warm cakes, awesome breakfast options.
Staff is a bit arrogant but all good when the food is good.
1st time and great experience at this 2nd floor shophouse along Duxton Hill cafe.
Fantastic ambience to gather to catch up with team or friends. Food taste great and service is excellent too. We ordered 2 poached eggs with thick toast, smoked salmon, cheese and hollandaise and we really like it.
They offer brunch and lunch menu and there are too many must try dishes so will be there with a larger group to try out other dishes.
The staffs are really nice. Loved the portion of my big plate especially how the poached eggs are really good with the sausage and the back bacon were well cooked and seasoned as well. However, though the bagel might be a little hard to chew off. I loved the digital aka cashless payment where we could order our food easily through our mobile phone. The milkshakes were decent and nothing much of what I could pinpoint. The meals are fulling and worth the price, would recommend.
Lovely spot to grab a quiet brunch. The portions are massive and tasty. They have a skinny chai latte option as well which you can’t find many places in Singapore. Will definitely be returning!
If you want to have a light lunch, the crepe menu is recommended!
Eggs can be changed from scrambled egg to poached eggs.
I was impressed that water is served for free of charge without request. Good service and please continue it👍
I choose brunch dish Skinny eggs Ben. The salmon is fresh. It has some sofa seats and is a cosy place to spend some time during weekend.
I love the location of this outlet - it’s perfect for brunch on a weekend because that’s when the CBD is quietest! GT is less about the frills as they serve simple and straightforward fare, and that’s all you need sometimes! (Their smoked salmon was really fresh BTW.) Service is great as well. We definitely see ourselves returning!
I was here on a Sunday afternoon with friends. It was a moderate and non-noisy crowd at about 1pm. The food was yummy and aesthetically pleasing, and at the standard cafe price point. The pancakes and sweet potato fries stood out to me the most. The service was also pleasant and attentive. :)
Food was good! Coffee was good! We had the Rosti and pulled pork burger and nothing to complain about. Got there around 10am on Sunday and we were the first then people started streaming in fast.... amazing with the entertainer app deal. Would definitely go back again.
Agree with another reviewer about a rude waitress. She started just saying “table for how many?” But we really couldn’t catch till a few seconds later. A little smile for the awesome Sunday morning would be appreciated.
Lovely place to have breakfast, perfect eggs & toast. The decor of books & hessian coffee bags looked great! Highly recommend⭐❤
Yummy but super big, good for sharing
Had the Pancakes and Chicken Pesto Focaccia, with both being excellent, although the Chicken Pesto could be a little bit less salty. Cappuccino and Mocha were also nicely balanced. Overall great place for a weekend brunch.
Had a good breakfast. Service is fast. Not as crowded as the East coast outlet. Main is $16-$18 each. Drinks about $5-$10 each.
Yummy breakfast. The toast is fantastic! Enjoyed this cosy place tucked away on the second floor in Duxton. Do remember to make reservations.
Got here because of the name! LOL loved it.
But the Manu was also great. I had a savory crepe that came with salad. It was delicious and with big portion size!
Cozy lil nook for those people who wanna eat healthier. I love their pumpkin pancakes. It's filling and value for money. Roasted almond latte is ok too.
Wanted to try the coffee here so here we are!
Coffee is good. Food was not too bad too. It is kinda quite quiet for Monday lunch.
Cozy cafe.
The food was good, no complaints.
They have so many items, I was lost about what to get.
Eventually,
We got arugula pesto
And spicy pulled pork ragu.
Great, piping hot pancakes, no picture because I ate them all! I upgraded to the pumpkin and loved them. My cappuccino was good, not great, but did the trick. Service was prompt, but not overly friendly. I didn’t like that I had to pay and order via a QR code and enter my credit card online, only drawback.
I really like the acai bowl which I had here. The juice was also fresh and tasty and considering that we are in Singapore, I felt like the price was not expensive for what you get. They also serve free water and there is no service fee added at the end!
Had the Green Plate ($19) and Mint Mocha ($6.50). Great food and portion as well as ambience in the afternoon :) Called to say I'll be late for my reservation and they were very friendly and nice.
I ordered Madame croque, my friends ordered smoked salmon on toast and avocado on toast. I'm not really a fan, but I might be one of the odd ones because this place is always packed.
Coffee and Apple Crumble Pie on a cool night after the rain tastes really good.
The ice cream was rich and the pie not overly sweet. Could use a bit of cinnamon for that oomph with the vanilla ice :)
Very cozy ambience tho.
Too bad the service wasn't the best (had to wait 45 min and ask 4 times to get my drink). But the food is really good. It is a nice place to enjoy a friendly brunch.
Food is good but service was not good for my experience. I wanted a Low table but was told to wait at the high table and didn’t get back to me.
The staff totally forgotten about me, it was bad.
Nevertheless food is good, coffee is average and price is average for cafe $15-20+
Best and affordable create-your-own breakfast in Singapore. If you're frugal and don't take surprises too well, straight up build your own. Our favourites:
Scrambled eggs
Scrambled egg whites (super)
Smoked salmon (great portion)
Hash browns (3 slices, super crispy, warm and comes with sour cream)
Guac (decent)
Sauteed mushrooms (good portion, not wet)
Commendable:
Pulled pork (great portion. I daresay this portion is same as the burger's varietal counterpart)
Sometimes we get the sets but we always realise the DIY ones are much bigger in portion and taste always never fails.
Visited the cafe again and the food is still so good and yummy. The symphony of colours in the Avocado Salmon Rosti is too mesmerizing. Taste very good too. I am sure I will be back again for more.
First time to this cafe, very good experience from service staff, foods & drinks. Surprisingly the coffee here is good, even my fussy gf says coffee is very nice.
You may miss the entrance this cafe because it’s kinda hidden place.
It’s good place for breakfast and lunch.
They have soy and almond milk!!
Lovely coffee. An underrated cafe indeed but this makes the cafe quiet and perfect for catch up over coffee or brunch. Located near the office area in Telok Ayer and also the Chinatown MRT. Food was decent too. I got the crispy ham with sourdough+ avocado + poached egg with hollandaise sauce. They have alternative milk for ur coffee :)
Flat white has a bold taste, nutty roast, flavour not over extracted. Well balanced on the palate.
· Comfortable
· Coffee average, next time try their pancake and brunch
Amazing food, great coffee, calm vibe, would definitely come back!
First went to the cafe for the Mother’s Day promotion this year.
Serving was GENEROUS and the staff is welcoming and attentive to our needs.
It has a really chill vibe where you can sit in and chat with your friends.
Went in the second time for their Father’s Day promotion. It’s definitely value for money!
You have to try their beef short ribs. Yummy and to the perfect rareness
So many options available for a coffee in this area. The coffee was uninspiring, food not tried on this visit looks "tired", as do the staff.
You can throw a stone and find better options.
Next to fast east mall. Very tasty.
Came back again for their deserts. Love it too.
The Poached Eggs Salmon was decent. However, the standout was the Pumpkin Pancake. It was simply delicious!
Nice place to chill with a coffee. Giving 4 stars as the coffee is like warm when served.
The most delicious matcha latte I have ever had, so creamy!
One of my go-to cafes in Singapore, easily bookable on google if needed, long opening hours. Wide diverse menu, good food, easy QR code offering, fast serving. Hassle free chilled dining.
It's relatively quiet and relaxed, and makes for a nice place to work (until the lunch crowd comes) with a cup of coffee!
Great coffee, good food. Nice little brunch spot throughout the week. Good luck trying to find the entrance!
Nice breakfast location.
Had good pan cakes and pizza
Nice cosy environment. Great place for breakfast.
Nice place with good coffee, good food, and a decent outdoor seating area.
i really like the food here. value for money. highly recommend: smoked salmon crepes, salmon salad.. feel free to customize by adding avocado, poached eggs to your dish as well. oh. the banana chocolate pancakes are amazing. portion sizes are really good too. no service charge. awesome.
Ambience: 5 stars
Comfortable seats, not too buzzy or noisy. Seems like a great place to chill and get work done.
Acai Smoothie: 4.5 stars
With reduced sugar, this pretty much tasted perfect to me.
Pistachio Cranberry Scone: 4.25 stars
Hot Chocolate: 4 stars
With oat milk.
Herbivore Pancake: 4 stars
Hashbrowns are nice and crispy. Creamy mushroom came with spinach, which is always a nice source of fibre. Pancakes are good. Note to self: this is too big of a breakfast before going climbing!
A nice cosy place to enjoy good coffee and dessert
One word... Pancakes! Let me tell you, these fine people know what they're doing. 😋 If a delicious stack of warm, perfectly cooked pancakes, with FRESH fruit, warm maple syrup, and... wait for it... HONEYCOMB, is what you're craving, then bring your appetite and leave with a smile!
If you are running a cafe, there is one thing you must do well. To sell good coffee. It baffles me how such mediocre coffee selling cafes can even survive, let alone getting a high rating. It is the same over-roasted, bland espresso all over 80% of cafes in Singapore. Maybe people don't appreciate good coffee. Nice decoration, but please improve on your coffee beans first.
Love this place! Lovely coffee and matcha latte. I had a waffle and ice cream here as well and it was delicious. Really nice atmosphere and interior deco.
Stroller friendly if you are able to carry your stroller up the flight of stairs. Book in advance if going with an infant. Nice pancakes and eggs benedict...
I often come to grab an Acai bowl after workout. The food is healthy and the staff is super nice 👍🏼
Relaxing place for a Sunday brunch. Young crowd...
Good food, nice music
Unfortunately have not tried their coffee, may be next time
Nice place with good scrambled eggs
I love going to this place to study. It’s a clean, cozy atmosphere with comfortable couches and very nice staff. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is that the food is a bit pricey for the portion sizes.
Great coffee, quiet ambience
Good coffee, good brunch food. Abit more avocado cream in the crepe would be nice
Just okay. Ambiance and coffee is fantastic. Food very ordinary.
Love the ambience, real cosy. The carrot cake was fantastic!
Very nice environment, coffee and light food
Fantastic
🏠Environment: Both indoor and outdoor. There are many people on weekends, but you don’t have to wait for a table. The indoor sofa is quite uncomfortable, and you will sink in when you sit down.
💁🏻♀️Service: The service is quite satisfactory and the attitude is not bad.
🍽️Taste:
👉Gula Melaka Latte $8 - This is my first time drinking this latte. It is not very sweet, with a touch of coconut sugar and a very soft taste.
👉Create Your Own Plate $60.5 - For two people, I have a lot to choose from, and everything tastes good. I like their scrambled eggs the most, they are very smooth and tender.
◆I stopped by during my transit trip from Japan to India.
◆You saved me when my smartphone ran out of charge and I was in a critical situation. thank you very much.
Very tasty breakfast! Everyone will find something here. Ambiance is nothing special, but quiet. Orders and payment are made via cell phone and the food came very quickly.
I read on Singalife that I could use an outlet, so when I tried to use it for remote work, I couldn't use the outlet.
All are good, but a little expensive...
Mint Moca is a dream!!! ❤❤❤ the food looks great too, but haven't tried it yet! Nice for a relaxed cafe drink and also a late breakfast! It's best to take a cloth with you, it's pretty cool 😁 The cafe is on the 1st floor
Not a bad place for breakfast. But the coffee is average
