Amazed by the food taste, presentation and huge portion. Their pasta is so chewy its the best pasta I ever had in my life. The restaurant feeling is warm and cozy concept is back to European home. They have open concept kitchen that can see the chef and staffs preparing the food. Great place to hang out and chill.
Very lovely place to chill. Chatty and nice owner. Great service and yummy food! Mash looks plain but tasted really good. The grilled beef skewers melted in the mouth! Minced mutton pasta was so amazing!
Yummy delicious food and friendly homely service ~ perfectly done beef! Pork ribs with delicious sauce~ tender chicken chop :) Highly recommended. Social enterprise worth supporting :)
Enjoyed greatly the afternoon lunch with a group of 14. We called in advanced couple of days ahead and stated the dietary limitation, the rest was handled by Joan’s mum. We had a big table made up by 4 large table and occupied the space right at the center. The service was warm and friendly, the platters of food prepared for us was just fantastic in taste and appearance. We started with wonderful assortment of soup followed by salad and platers of grilled and fried assortment meat and vegetable. The food like someone in the group said is Food from the Heart. Ended with the popular Orio cheese ice cream and coffee. Everyone had enjoyed the lunch for a good start of the year. Bravo and Thank You Joan Bowen.
Had a nice lunch at Joan Bowen. Look forward to try other dishes on the menu. Suggest to have more desert option other than apple crumble (not available while I was there)
Place where foods are cooked by passionate ppl. Thanks again for the great story on Croatia. Do book in advance.
Cosy homely vibes that I sometimes crave; Had the rosemary chicken and it was reallyyy juicy. Will come back to try other items!
Thank you Jean and Joan for the chat and good. Everything about this place - food, interior decor, and the people were GREAT!
A very cosy place to dine and chill with friends and family. Frills free, from the moment you step into the restaurant, it is as if you have walked into a loving home. I am sure I am not the only one who feels this way. The staff and owners are not only attentive and friendly, they make the effort to mingle and talk with us like we are family. While the menu may not be extensive, the owners go out of their way to ensure that our requests were met. Hospitality was great! Caution not to over order though. The serving portions were not small and each dish came with a very generous portion of fresh greens and a scoop of potato mash. We were all very full mid-way through our meal.. ahhh. Located in a quiet corner of Sennett Estate, the store is not quite accessible if you were to take the train.. you might need to get on to some bus if you want to walk less. It was a good 10 minutes walk from Potong Pasir station for me. Vehicle parking would have to be found somewhere in the estate. Thank you for the cosy nice meal!
Called ahead to reserve a table (recommended) and arrived on time for our dinner. Lady boss is familiar with us and recommended 2 pasta dishes (cheesy carbonara and mushroom aglio olio) for our party of 3 adults and 2 kids.
We were served some other mains with sides and salad greens (2 chicken dishes, a lamb shank and a fish & chips) and managed to finish nearly everything except for the big serving of mashed potatoes.
The bill was under $100 for quite a wide variety of dishes (6 mains plus a mushroom soup with crispy baguette slices).
Service is good and food is value for money. All in all, a great repeat visit.
Very nice dining experience here! I had a set lunch here for $20 nett-- a very reasonable price considering the portion and quality of food. Portion was just nice for me; set included soup of the day, main of choice, and dessert of the day. They were very accommodating about my requests. Jeanne made me feel right at home and she even offered to take future requests by phone call in advance. Such a warm lady. For main I had excellent salmon teriyaki with rice. Everything they serve is made on site fresh, from the teriyaki sauce to the mushroom soup (frequently bought pre-made/wholesale). Overall food was to my liking as I prefer food to be freshly prepared and subtle as opposed to over-seasoned/heavy in taste. Great place to bring health conscious friends!
Really good food and very personal service. It is a very good dining experience. The meats are marinated and cooked to perfection. Great place for intimate functions.
Totally enjoy the food served, whatever in the menu and the pleasant atmosphere.
