Reviews of Killiney Kopitiam
The Penang fried kueh teow was nice. Kaya butter was normal. Teh bing dun less sweet. Normal is okie.
My regular breakfast place in the east! Huge menu and Kopitiam is opened all day with other Singaporean local favorites. Have both indoor air conditioned seating and outdoor Alfresco seating available. Parking is available opposite at the public car park.
My favourite place for kaya toast bread, French toast, coffee and cooked food. Breakfast there is the best!
I love their coffee since young. Their kaya is amazing, traditional and I can taste the kaya pulps in it.
Even their Breakfast otah and other cooked food is great for sharing.
Enjoy bringing my mum there!
One of my fav place for coffee tea and toast. They have local food like fried prawn noodles, pork chop and curry chicken with bread. The all-time favorite n comfortfood. But inflation is real.
Recently from April 23 onwards I saw a notice that says additional lime for 10 cents, lemon for 50 cents and one egg for a dollar.
Kaya is still preferred as it is less sweet compared to YK.
Most authentic coffee and local dishes . I love the take home packs (which got to bring overseas). Busy place but quick service. The kaya toast was a tad dry the day I tired but I heard the mee rebus iis delicious . Some of the Popular dishes (chee cheung fun and otak) do sell out so worth to drop by early .
Always my favourite place for breakfast in the morning with my favourite drink to start the day right. I cant find any other place with this unique taste of their tea and thats why I have to have my weekly dosage of it, at least. =)
Shophouse unit with Aircon section and alfresco section. Stools and stone-top tables reminiscent of old style kopitiam. Slightly cramped as the tables are placed close to one another. Offers variety of local food such as fried bee hoon, hor fun, carrot cake, toast and eggs. Taste good. Service was slow for the eggs and toast and had gotten some customers frustrated. Nonetheless, Kaya toast was thick, crispy outside and soft inside. French toast came with Kaya and butter too.
This place used to be good. But lately, the service and food quality is rather poor. The Hainanese Bee Hoon that i used to eat had always served 2 big prawns. For this price, i would expect the prawns to be consistent.
However, today you get less for what you pay for. (See photo - where there is one small prawn or more like a shrimp, instead of a normal prawn). What surprises me is that they cleverly hide this under the bee hoon when you collect the food. There is this notion that the cook is embarrassed to give you this shrimp but yet, they want to maintain to give the 2 prawns as depicted in the photos.
All in all, i think the owners need to reconsider whether they want to continue to be trustworthy, and whether they want to maintain the reputation as an old cafe which serves good food, or they want to run this place with just “profit” in mind…The choice is theirs, but as an old faithful customer, i would advise them to maintain their standards or else they will end up like those Killiney outlets that have to close down due to market forces.
This was our favourite place for kopi and Kaya toast in East Coast. We would easily give a 5 star. But recently the quality of the Kaya toast is really quite poor. Overnight stale bread were used. Kaya is so thinly spreaded on the toast and the butter pieces too seems to shrink in sizes. This makes the toast lack of taste.
It used to be good and we kept coming back. We feel this is a pity.
My advise… if you are using stale bread, pls spray some water on the bread before putting it to the fire to toast. Your bread will taste like freshly baked.
I really hope y’all can make delicious toast a come-back.
A very fulfilling lunch to treat a friend transit in Singapore.
Curry Chicken is the best , laksa is very very good , authentic Singapore laksa with all the ingredients
Good place to have your breakfast or tea-break! The staffs are friendly!
Nice Ayam Penyet, like the homemake chilli. Open carpark opposite.
The coffee tastes better than another local traditional brand. The food is nice and generous portion. The staff are friendly. And the restaurant is cooling and clean. To top it up, there's a big open-air public car park opposite.
The curry chicken, mee siam, and laksa portion sizes were decent, however taste was average and overpriced. Saving grace for killiney: the place was air conditioned
A decent place to have Kaya Butter toast and coffee. Soft boil eggs on menu, dont bother, the yolk is cooked either too hard or the eggs are too watery. Carrot cake is a must!
Food, depending on what you order is alright but one certainly can't say the same for their fish and chips. It is confusing when employee asks u to wait for the toast at the self collection while another states u need to wait at the table after u ordered.
Need reminders to clear the food left behind previous patrons, but in all fairness the tray should have been returned to the counter after eating. Rude male employee gave a death stare when I returned my food tray
Carrot cake and coffee is great but sometimes inconsistent tho...dont miss out the french loaf w kaya butter!
Had coffee after lunch. Saw the food ordered by other patrons, looks yummylicious. Will try another time.
Our usual morning spot for breakfast and coffee for more than 10 years.
The taste of the hainanese beehoon and carrot cake is no longer as good as before.
With the new replacement in the front and back end, our orders have never been right.
French toast becomes toast, without bean sprouts and dish comes with it, kopi o kosong comes with sugar.
And we are no longer greeted by the cheerful cashier
0ne of the great Koffi Greats in Singapore. Roti Peng, so flavourful with
Kaya n butter. Eggs boiled to your delights w their special black sauzed.
Dipped the roti into the eggs and slurped it.... it's so so shiok.
And follow up with a mouthful of their Teh siew tai. It's a wowl effect.
Take time and enjoy... Karry on makan.
A good spot for local breakfast. The menu is quite wide. They serve not only the traditional kaya toast. There is also mee siam and local breakfast noodles. There is also a menu of some basic tze char dishes.
This is one of the more popular traditional coffee shops. Food like curry chicken, mee siam, penang char kuay tiao and carrot cake, etc., are available too. One can order stir fried dishes as well. They are all reasonably priced and weekends are usually very crowded. Good mid-ranged coffee shop to while away your time sipping traditional tea or coffee.
Good local food with traditional tastes. Received a pleasant surprise of a free French toast with kaya as our bill was over 20 dollars.
Good location. Indoor and outdoors seating. Big parking lot opposite. Aircon not great but they had the fans on.
Good variety of local fare tho a tad pricy. Noisy when half full already but still ok for a nice kopi/teh plus toast and if you like, eggs too.
Enjoying same old Kaya Butter Toasts with same favourite “Kopi Siew Dai or Kopi C”. Future, must try the popular food items on its lunch menu!
Cant go wrong at killiney fot a local breakfast. I generally dont like the kaya here. It is a little too eggy for me. But the fried bee hoon is great.
Local coffee chain throughout Singapore. Good selection of local dishes served all day. Local coffee is excellent.
Used to be better! Pls keep up the food quality! The wok hei is missing from the char koay teow.
This kiliney kopitiam has really one of the most variety I have seen! It is almost like a restaurant. Food taste good with plenty of choices. Loved it!
Lots of local variety dishes and taste good too. Our new go to places for local breakfast
Kaya toast is nice but they dont provide serviette, which is surprising considering the price.
Good lunch place. Really good Kopi.
No better place than Killiney for breakfast. Authentic Singapore coffee and kaya toast.
Good cheap food, particularly the very reliable Penang Char Kway Teow. Service sometimes dour.
Cozy place for a lazy afternoon to chit chat. Not a happening place to chill but a place to catch up with friends
Homely selection of local heritage delights and an authentic kopitiam setting but with air-conditioning for comfort.
Coffee, kaya toast and soft boiled egg. Yum. But of course the food across the road is cheaper.
Love their traditional coffee and toast varities.
French toast is good. 👍 must try.
Cosy and old school place. Perfect if halal certified.
Nice coffee. They also serve other dishes
Coffee and tea fantastic. Service crew has trouble remembering how to smile though
Hainanese fried bee Hoon is fantastic. Do order!!
have a cup of coffee while waiting for bus no.12
OK only order coffee n bread but need to collect 2 time.
Nice place to chat over a good cup of coffee.
Excellent breakfast set with good price
Neighbourhood coffeeshop, with local food...Singapore style
Love their friendly staff and yuanyang here!
Great service good food
