Reviews of Killiney
Dinner at Killiney based on my youngest suggestion.
Pretty good surprise by our dinner choices.
Dry Noodle with Chicken Chop @ $8.00 | Rating 8.0 out of 10
- Chicken Chop was nice but the noodles were too dry and a bit bland.
Dry Noodle with Pork Chop @ $8.00 | Rating 7.5 out of 10
- Pork Chop was nice but the noodles were too dry and a bit bland.
Curry Chicken with Rice @ $8.20 | Rating 8.0 out of 10
- The curry was rich in Nonya flavours. Portion was good for an adult.
3 Pork Fried Rice @ $7.50 | Rating 8.0 out of 10
- Good tasting with good amount of ingredients. Not expecting this good standard from fried rice.
Located just next to E' avenue downtown east dropoff point. The cafe wasn't too big amd do get crowded till the queue to order goes out of the shop. They have more seat available just outside the shop. The food serve time was quick. The coffee was nice and the toasted bread was done well. Its also a good place to have lunch as they have many dishes available for lunch.
The tea and toast is well prepared.
The laksa is a hot favorite in the morning and quickly out by noon time. The only grouse I have of late is they failed to prepare the bean sprouts and remove the roots before cooking. In addition, they added too much coconut milk into the sauce. The buah ke lak is still alright for now. This is a great place for family and friends to meet up for breakfast, lunch and tea.
We have eating you kaya for years, like the taste and texture, recently bought a bottle kaya from Downtown East outlet, second purchase, upon eating the taste, colour texture was completely off,as this is one of your signature product, please look into it, thanks
The last time we visited this place was in 2019 and the food and service were really bad. Decided to revisit it again yest and were not expecting much, given the current 3-star rating. Just want to say to the team that you have come a long way, Service was impressively efficient and friendly, given how crowded the place was. We love the variety of food choices, which are much better tasting than before too. Food can be warmer and toast/fried snacks can be crispier.
Good Food with Good Coffee. Quality keeps improving and now they have discounts for NTUC staff and students. Students can get milo dinosaur for 1 dollar with food purchased.
The menu has changed to include a greater variety of drinks and food for tze char lovers.
The food was delicious! We ordered the hor fun, pork chop, char kway teow and fried beehoon.
Reached home and only realized missing orders!
No peanut butter toast
Sad!
Great nasi lemak, chicken was well marinated and tender. Nasi lemak rice:dish ratio is good. Milo dinosaur was thick and rich. Food quality is much better when the owner changed, also shorter wait since the swap of owners in Nov 2019
Tried the nasi lemak. Rice was just right with the lemak and chicken wing was still crispy despite it being a takeaway. The chicken wing was awesome, fragrant and savory, one of a kind. Will order extra chicken wing the next time I patronize the shop.
Recently went by and found out the menu has changed. Tried their new signature nasi lemak set and was pleasantly surprised! Their traditional coffee and toast still great as usual.
Killiney@DTE used to be the only place I get my kopi peng fix. Their iced coffee was thick and creamy, with a distinct milk ratio that i adore. However, ever since a curly-haired uncle took over the coffee making, the kopi peng is now watered down, bland, and a bit too sweet to presumably mask the lack of coffee taste. I went down 4 times to give it another chance, but each time i end up so disappointed.. :( Back to Ya Kun now.. :( Sad.
Nasi lemak was fragrant, chicken wing was crispy and tasty. Nyonya zhang was delicious too, perfect combination of sweet and savoury. Overall, great meal.
Although not such a wide variety for choice of foods, still a good place to go for a quick bite & for discussions. Best of all, tenants at Downtown East get a small discount when eating there
Coffee no nice anymore
Pretty quiet when I last went there. The staff were pretty nice. They got my order wrong at first but changed it without fuss.
Love the nasi lemak here! The otah and chicken wing was good...
Very fast and efficient. Friendly cashier
Nice restaurant
Pandan butter toast has a small piece of butter, unlike other places where it is spread all over.
