Reviews of PRAIRIE by Craftsmen (Cluny Court)
This place is a little bit hidden and out of the way (which we like!) but not difficult at all to find and actually so convenient to access from Botanic Gardens MRT station. I loved the picturesque little outdoor walkway lined by bamboo, and the cafe interiors were also nice - cozy with lots of indoor and outdoor seating and a nice ambiance.
The service was fine! Nothing to harp on about, I did appreciate that they frequently refilled my glass of water for me.
We ordered the truffle fries and falafel, which were *chefs kiss* and I had the chocolate mousse sleeping bear - A DO RA BLE. You almost don't want to eat him and disturb his nap. Taste wise, the mousse cake was great! It was just a little bit too sweet after a few bites, but richly so, and pairs well with coffee that way.
As all Craftsmen locations, it is a little pricier here lol but for the random and odd coffee meet-up, this is a good choice!
I had a wonderful experience dining here. I ordered the white wine prawn aglio olio, and it was absolutely delicious - perfectly cooked with just the right amount of flavor. The service was excellent and the staff was attentive and friendly, making the dining experience even better. Highly recommend this place!
Lovely setting with great brunch food and coffee ☕️ . We found the portions of the waffles 🧇 and mascarpone big so we shared. Reasonable price for this area. Just hard to find the entrance!

went to this cafe with my friend and chance upon a fantastic service crew. Especially an employee named shinnel. She is very attentive and is ready to help us with anything. She went the extra mile to help us take water even though it’s self service. wei cheng is also a helpful staff and is very nice and friendly to us
the food at the cafe was exceptionally good too. would recommend!
This restaurant is tucked in a corner of the building. Need to follow the sign to reach here.
Quite exp. Spent. $170+ for 5 pax.
The portion of pasta for Crab Bisque is quite little. Not really filling.
The fish in fish and chips is big though.
Iced lychee tea is nice. It even came with real lychee in the cups.
Food is served fast.
But likely won't return as it is too expensive.
Came here on a Sunday afternoon without making reservations, our group of 9 had to split to 2 tables and were seated outdoors.
Food took quite a long time and we waited almost about an hour from the ordering to being served… grateful at least while waiting the tables emptied on the inside and we were able to move over to the larger tables
All in all, I absolutely loved the ambience and presentation of the food, highly recommend their fish and chips, oxtail, pasta and the duck confit (smaller portion compared to the rest)
It’s abit pricy for my liking but I guess it’s okay to indulge once a while
Champion breaksfast is very filling for one individual. Truffle mushroom is not bad.
Came on a weekday dinner, restaurant was not crowded. A little difficult finding the entrance but otherwise can look out for the black sign in front of Bridgestone.
Ordered the Calamari ($19), truffle cream mushroom pasta ($24), crab bisque pasta ($32), fish & chips ($28), babycino ($3)c iced vanilla latte ($8) and black sesame soy latte ($7). Bill amounted to $143 for 3pax.
Calamari was average, salted egg sauce was bland albeit thick. It wasn’t savoury as I expected, can give this a miss. Truffle cream mushroom pasta was creamy, truffle taste was mild. Although I love flavourful and creamy pasta dishes, this dish was too jelak and we gave up at the halfway mark. Might be good to have other dishes balance this but all our dishes were fried/ heavy so it was too much for us.
Crab bisque pasta smelt heavenly, however taste was bland. Thickness of the sauce was good though. Amount of crab meat was pretty generous too. Probably my favourite compared to the rest but honestly, not impressive.
Fish & chips had good reviews and was barramundi fish so we were really excited to try it. Batter is good but somehow the dish wasn’t impressive either.
Black sesame soy latte was alright, but baby cino was disappointing. Basically frothed milk with cocoa powder, there wasn’t decaf in it. IVL is not bad. Overall food is not worth the price, and am kind of disappointed with the food but service was not bad.
While this place is highly raved, I believe it might be more for brunch rather than dinner. Honestly wouldn’t come back again for dinner, shall reevaluate it for it’s brunch in future.
Went for my birthday breakfast here.
The coffee was spectacular.
The ambience was perfect for a rainy morning.
The service was even excellent.
The food...was really good.
We ordered the eggs on toast( choice of eggs - poached), Prairie breakfast, and Breakfast bunwich.
For drinks it was Flaat white, Macchiato, and Cold brew.
Birthday breakfast was just yumm.
The portions were really huge and worth every penny.
Nice environment. Food is not my favourite. It got a burns smell on my ordered food. I don't know if it's overcooked? But, I won't go anymore.
Brought my pet birds to this pet-friendly cafe.
Relaxing ambience to chill with family and friends, and even your own pets! Enjoyed our time at the outdoor dining space which is a unique glasshouse with courtyard setting. Do note that you might feel a little warm if dining at the outdoor area during noon due to the sun (Other than that its perfect).
Ordered Prairie Breakfast, Truffle Cream Mushroom Pasta, Craftmen Affogato which tasted great. Cappuccino is nice and the latte art is amazing.
Staff are pleasant and efficient. Highly recommend! :)
Interesting concoctions and food choices here available. Convenient location next to the botanic gardens MRT. Good especially for the lunch options!
Gorgeous alfresco dining, perfect for the camera, but wow this cafe has incredibly uncomfortable seats on the concrete tiled seating area. Wanted to spend the afternoon getting work done here but my thighs were getting cut from the sharp edges of the benches, plus the rim of the round tables were also very sharp. Be careful when bringing kids, I suggest not dining at the outdoor area for safety reasons 😅
Food and coffee were delicious BUT VERY PRICEY. On average be prepared to spend $50 per pax after ordering a main + 1 coffee.
Cafe was relatively hidden from the main street! Nice ambience, great place to work as well. There’s a huge table for working and a really nice and spacious outdoor seating. Ordered the fish and chips and iced lychee, both did not disappoint! Signup to their membership programme and there’s $20 voucher (min spend $60) and $15 vouchers on your birthday month!
Came here twice in a week since their soft opening. Very nice concept (insta-worthy) fusing cozy cafe with casual dining - love the breezy garden dining with sun roof! On top of my favourite great tasting Sesame soy latte by Craftsmen, Prairie has a refreshing new menu here - tried the Beef Oxtail, Hokkaido Scallop Cold Pasta and Basque Burnt cheesecake - super nice! Always impressed with the food served by Craftsmen 👍
Ordered the mushroom toast, a long black and a black sesame latte for breakfast last Saturday. The toast was yummy and the latte art on the latte was really cute. Cosy and spacious cafe without the crowds at the time we went.
Delicious food. Hard to recommend just one item, they all look good! And we’re very satisfied with all the mains we ordered 😁 for cakes, highly recommend the lychee rose. It’s definitely worth a try.
Very chill place to relax and have a chat. Pet friendly too! Not a place for the price sensitive/wallet shy people. Coffee beans used here has a nutty aroma to them (tried an iced long black for this comment haha)
Ok going back to my chilling now. Sorry for the incoherent review. Brain taking a snooze here, sooo chillax 🏖️
First visit today. Staff overall were quite friendly and welcoming.
We ordered quite a number of dishes and enjoyed them. Though there was a small piece of tissue found in the fish and chips, the supervisor was apologetic and asked if we would like the same dish /to change to another. Even did a service recovery by gifting a crossiant to us. He personally sent the new set of fish and chips to us. And came back to check if everything was ok. Appreciated the effort.
Would visit them again for sure.
But for those who are looking for cafes with a budget, this cafe would not be one of them.
PRAIRE is a decently large cafe tucked in the corner of cluny court. Food was not bad but I find it overpriced for cafe food and for the quality. I had a beef burger for $25++ and a plate of pasta ranges from $23-$29++. To be fair, I guess you can say that you are paying for the ambience as the interior is well decorated and you have the option to sit in their glasshouse like outdoor seating area. Service staff was attentive and friendly and the cafe is well staffed. It is worth trying once but I doubt I’ll be back!
Great ambience in a hidden location with classy indoor and rustic outdoor settings. Food is generally acceptable but without the X factor that pushes it to greatness. Steak was really well grilled with crunchy parts, but underseasoned. Duck pasta had great components that didn't come together for a homogeneous taste. Fish and chips had fantastic batter and was easily the best dish. Slightly expensive at $30+ per pax for main course.
Ordered the fish ahoy burger, white wine prawn aglio olio and ice latte. A bit on the pricier side for cafe food but this was reflected in the quality of the ingredients. Surprise highlight was the truffle fries, not too overpowering and the texture was perfect
Dropped by for breakfast earlier this morning. Nice quiet place and friendly staffs. Latte was really good for me. I opt with lesser milk. Should have ordered a bigger cup instead of the small one. The latte is addictive 😉
Quite an experience coming into the place! Walking through a nice path with greenery...
Food wise, I had the Duck Confit, Truffle Cream Mushroom, Truffle Fries, Beef Oxtail, Prosciutto and their array of Lattes! The dish that stood out the most to me was the Truffle Mushroom due to its strong flavour, the rest were quite mediocre...
But nonetheless it is really quite a affordable place for the portions and ambience as well as location! Having able to walk just a few metres from Botanic Gardens MRT to this place is amazing!
I was brought here to try this place.
Parire by craftsmen
Had some duck some cheese and truffles pasta.
All and all the price here was great and location was nice a bit hot while I siting outside but well it's more pleasing to the eyes outdoors.
Duck.
It was great with those crunchy quinoa. Mushroom wasn't too earthy which was good so as not too over powering then the potato had a bit of bite to it which i like it that way and not over over mushy. The duck was not dry and the flavour was alright. Well its duck so hmmm preference comes into play but over all the dish was well priced and well played. Balanced.
Tomatoes
Buffalo mozzarella which isn't over powering it lighter in taste whichbisnt strong in a good way for those who finds the normal mozzarella too powering. This is totally great eith the herbs combination and Tomato were great as well really refreshing dish great for the heat.
Truffle
Well this one got to eat fast as if left for too long well it soaks up the sauce and then a bit mushy. The truffle taste was good at the start but gone out and then leaves you with a very strong shoom taste which I am not that of a fan.
Had my chai latte and damn the dirty chai was good just I find that the CUP was small 😔 hope they can upgrade it into those bigger size cups to get its worth for chai lovers such as myself.
Would visit again !
The ambience of this place is fantastic with its glass top roof couple with good service as well. I would have give it 5 starts if not for its limited food for brunch compared to the other craftsmen outlets. Here they only have crossiants, eggs and mushrooms, even the chocolate and kaya were not available. Overall still a decent experience but hope they have more variety of food soon.
Great place with friendly staff, food is amazing. The ambience is just great. Love their cafe design with an alfresco concept. The Duck Confit was superb. Crispy skin! Will come back and try another dish. Recommended to all. 👍
Had an early breakfast here.
Location is slightly hidden and split between an open semi alfresco area and a internal seating area. Very comfortable.
Had the prairie breakfast, flat white, sesame latte and a croissant.
Overall food and drink quality is above average and true to the craftsmen standard. Would have preferred a bigger portion size for the breakfast.
Will be back for lunch or dinner to try the other cooked food.
Ordered the Prairie Breakfast and Earl Grey Cheesecake to share for brunch, along with our cup of hot mocha and latte. Food was decent but it was the ambience that really left a bigger impression on me.
The minimalistic Scandinavian pastel green interior reminds me of the Scandinavian interior aesthetics found on Pinterest. It makes it a really pleasant cafe to chill in.
The staffs here are friendly & made our visit enjoyable! Love the vibe and interior design.
We had tea time there so we didn’t get to enjoy the food but the menu seems interesting. I would definitely come back to try food other than the truffle fries!
There’s indoor & outdoor seats, it was drizzling last time so I hope it would be sunny on my next visit so I can enjoy the outdoor seating!
Prairie is located near Botanic Gardens MRT so it is convenient to find (like 2 mins walk from the MRT). It’s a perfect place to have coffee/ tea & talk with your friends!
My go-to cafe for breakfast after my routine yoga on Saturday morning. I always choose the outdoor as I love their greenery glasshouse ambience. Also enjoy their friendly welcoming staff. Going back home with a huge bag of their amazing croissants!
Nice food and great ambience. Was there in the afternoon but I think it will be prettier if you come later in the evening. The staff was great and service was on point. Food was good and something that will fill your belly on a lazy afternoon. A place to visit if you are in the area!
Ordered the steak sandwich and beef oxtail stew. Both came overly salted. Had to send back the sandwich. Sides were generous. Ambience was good and service so so on a slow afternoon.
The food here is awesome 👍🏻
Fish & chips was fresh with crispy criss cut fries. The sesame chicken wings is a must try. Tasty, tender, moist chicken with lightly battered crispy skin.
Buffalo Cheese Greens salad was also good.
Coffee does not have the sour taste which is to my liking. Nice ambience makes the place a must return to try other dishes.
There is also a very nice non aircon alfresco dining area.
Service charge at 3% & GST 7%.
Never have I had a more pleasant drink. Wai cheng was so polite and helpful, Thanks honey for the wonderful care given to us. Forever repeat customers!
The space and ambiance was amazing. I guess in Singapore we don't always come across such pretty indoor as well as alfresco. Food was good too but serving time was a tad too long wait. I would be back to try the pastries which was sold out on my visit.
Limited parking available here and the cafe is accessible directly from B1 carpark staircase. Don’t worry if you are not driving, Botanic Gardens station is just besides.
Not the widely affordable type but definitely very fulfilling and not stingy with their ingredient. Two plates are more than enough to feed three of us. The outdoor seating is cosy and this place is also pet friendly.
We were back in Singapore for a holiday, and decided to have a lazy last minute brunch with my sister and my little nephew here. Had a small hiccup with my partners food, but the manager went out of his way to ensure that we were well looked after. Even the chef came to apologize for the hiccup. We were very impressed by the service recovery and how serious they take customer service. That aside, we all thought it was a lovely chilled ambience for social catch ups. The coffee and truffle mushrooms were delicious! (I did not take photos of my sister’s and partners big breakfast 😆).
Generally nice cafe hidden away, with chill vibes. The sourdough was good and tangy although the price was a bit steep. You need to add 17.7% to the listed price, which is a practice I don't really like.
2nd time back at the prairie. Came early on a Sunday morning for breakfast with my family- it’s nestled within cluny court with a nice alfresco area. We ordered the prairie breakfast and avocado toast amongst other things. The avocado toast paired well with the poached egg, avocado and hollandaise.
Nice ambience, overall food quality is okay.
I’ll definitely recommend the croissant options they have, and waffle fries as side.
You should skip their tiramisu if you’re looking for cake as dessert
Quaint little cafe with great deco, tucked in a corner of cluny court.
Coffee was good. But that was all that was good.
1) tried the eggs and toast, which was forgettable.
2) rather disorganized with sitting arrangements with no proper system. People with outdoor seats were moving indoors on their own so I did the same.
3) service staff looked rather unhappy.
Had breakfast here after a nice walk through the Botanic Gardens. The Gula Melaka Latte is creamy and sweet. Yum!
Eggs on Toast has a generous serving of avocado in it. I would have preferred the over easy eggs a little less well done. But overall still seems like a good place to meet up. Very popular!
The ambience was pleasant both indoor and outdoor, loved the tone and mood. Overall food and coffee were satisfactory, but almond croissant I ordered was too big for one, if the size is smaller, it would be just nice.
Saw the good ratings on Google maps and decided to check it out. It was a mediocre experience - food was so-so, service was very grudging. We asked for a non-spicy version of the aglio olio, but it was still spicy. Cake was dry (not v fresh). Outdoor patio was pretty but the seats are very hard and we got bitten by mosquitoes. All the bouquets were wilting. Would probably not return !
Had brunch with friends on a weekend. Great food, great service, will definitely come back to try their lunch or dinner next time.. Good serving size for the Prairie Breakfast.. Staffs are friendly too.
I love the location of this cafe. Food tastes good. I ordered the Prairie Beef burger. Food presentation is top-notched!
Nice ambience and good service! Was there for lunch and asked the young lady for recommendations since it was our first time here. Selected the Beef Oxtail, Fish and Chips and Truffle Cream Mushroom Pasta to share. Did not fail in their taste! 😄
Ordered an upsized Cappuccino and it was good! The coffee beans were fresh and the temperature was just nice!
Looking forward to head back maybe in the afternoon for tea! Thank you for the wonderful experience! 😄 👍
Enjoyed the ambience of this place. Tucked away at a corner with a secluded pathway leading into this cosy eatery. The food is kinda pricey but this is definitely a getaway for adults and kids.
What I ordered: Prarie Beef burger (homemade beef patty) & my friend got the infamous Impossible Meat burger (mushroom patty). Both came with truffle fries!
Thoughts: the beef burger was tender but abit on the dry side (it’s basically what you’d expect from a typical beef burger). The truffle fries were divine but the highlight would be the Impossible Meat burger! It tasted convincingly like beef..even smelt like it too! Coffee was mediocre.
Yay or Nay: Yay for the Impossible Meat burger but nay for the beef burger since it tastes like any other beef burger. One could agree to disagree.
Overall: 9/10 (minus 1 because the seating capacity was kinda limited since we went at lunch time so we had to sit outside where it was hot despite the fans being on).
Would I go again: YAS
Great coffee
Great ambiance and vibe
Food options can be expansive
I had some bruschetta & fries . ( was expecting a classic more flavorful version )
Warm staff
Definitely come back for its chill vibe
Ps- new update- the staff is unable to customize some regular dishes for veg requirements such as aglio lip / pasta with no meat. She seem to be lost. Can the restaurant team equip them to customize few veg friendly options I felt it was very hard to explain other than impossible burger options that hat they suggested. Makign a pasta with no meat and just garlic and some herbs should be manageable by the cooking team.
Chill place with quiet vibe. The earl grey cheese cake was pretty good.
No changing table for baby. Had a traumatic time trying to find one nearby and the one at Cluny Court next door was under renovation. Also a hassle that we couldn’t put an early order for lunch first when we came at 1130 and wanted to order items from both breakfast and lunch menu. Had to go back to order twice. Staff not too attentive either, only came to clear plates. Food is decent.
The breakfast bunwich is below standard. Bacon is badly done. Fat should be well seared or baked for melting fat but was served hard. The avocado egg toast is also below standard, poached egg is over cooked , bun is hard too. If you neee a place with nice ambience and dog friendly I think this is the place. For food wise please lower your expectation
Food was decent. Lovely ambience but service staff overworked perhaps. Service staff seemed quite unhappy to be there and we really didn't feel quite welcome from the start till the end of the meal.
The place is okay. The staff are polite and the dessert is nice. I order a long Island tea. It is passable. Overall, not a must go. Just another nice place where people can chilled out.
Came here twice, once for an early breakfast and another time for dinner, and had a great experience on both occasions, albeit slower than expected service during the first visit, which honestly improved a lot when we returned the following night for dinner. Had young kids with us, and we were impressed by the attentive service and help rendered to sit our kids. Food was well executed and coffee was amazing as usual since they are the same guys behind Craftsmen. Will certainly return to try the other menu items.
PS: Surprised to see so many exaggerated negative reviews here. C'mon, they did say it was their soft launch didn't they? If you acknowledge that it was a soft opening and that hiccups may occur, why give a crushing review? Peace...
Dining out under the greenery or seek refuge within the air-con comfy space, Prairie is a new all-day dining concept Craftsmen Specialty Coffee
As kitchen was closed from 3pm-5pm, only pastries and cakes are available. Had the Kaya Croissant ($6), which has a flaky exterior but was rather doughy and chewy on the inside. Also can help but wish there was more Kaya filling.
P.S: Look for the carpark from Botanic Garden MRT and there you will find the entrance, framed by the bamboo trees.
Nice weekend chillax place. Pastries weren’t bad. Service nice. Outdoor seating nice also. Would come again. Got ePay also.
No idea why it’s called prairie. Got Wi-Fi also.
Nice sheltered outdoor seating at the back. Delicious burrata greens salad and mushroom quinoa
Nice atmosphere for brunch, and also a good place to chill out with friends.
🌿🤎 Truffle Mushroom Gnocchi SGD26+ ( Italian dumplings). I like eating gnocchi & ravioli. 💛These two are my favourite Italian pastas. 🍄 And I really love mushrooms.
🟫 The truffle gnocchi dish is delicious. The gravy cream is thick with mushroom umami. ❇️ Service is friendly and polite.🟦 Love this cafe, willl be back!

💮17th May 2024 Friday late afternoon. It was my first visit here to Prairie cafe. 🌿🥰 My photos will show you all the details of this secluded cafe.
nice ambience, but hard to find the entrance. i saw some ladies walking up and down cluny court looking pretty frustrated while searching for this place. in the end, they gave up. the signboard isn't obvious and the one we found has a "exit only" (no entry sign). 😪 we were lucky that someone told us where the entrance is (exactly). i had white wine during happy hour 2 to 8pm. $13 + 7% gst. it was ok, ambience was nice. a lil hot at the alfresco area. hence, we decided to sit inside. minus 1 star for the confusing entrance and poor signage.
Came here with my toddler who couldn't keep still. Running around. But the staff were really nice especially one of them who despite the crowds and lack of staff still gave great service and made our day. Food was very nice too. Thank you!
A Cafe with a lovely ambience and generally good food and drinks.
Refer to the photo captions for more details on the food.
I would like to thank Alan, a staff there, for being so wonderful on the day of my sister’s birthday. He was so attentive to our needs and took the initiative to give us servings plates when we were about to sing the birthday song. He was also very friendly and made some jokes that really cracked us up.
Thank you so much. The food is amazing and the service is impeccable. Will definitely be back.
I love the lattes here! Great variety to choose from and I can select what type of milk I want! Looking forward to try their lunch dishes!
I was expecting to step into a sanctuary based on what I saw on the website. Instead, the music was way too loud for anyone to relax and the whole environment to me was noisy. Outdoor sitting looks nice but too hot in the day. Indoor seating nothing really special about it. Tried only the cheese stick which to me was way over priced. I will not mind if the ambience is nice but overall is disappointing. There are many nicer cafe at Cluny Court. Will not be here again.
Here for Breakfast, loved the smoked salmon croissant and the signature breakfast had a PERFECT hash-brown.
This cafe is absolutely a hidden gem!! ☺️ Love the ambience, foods & beverages especially the Varlhona Ice Chocolate! If you are looking for a place to chill with good foods, I totally recommend this place! 😄
You are really kind. The coconut is very fresh. The strawberry smoothie and mixed veras smoothie are flawlessly sweet and delicious. Sinful chocolate is really, really delicious! best!!! The bread is also very delicious~~. It's delicious enough to be enjoyed as a portion. The atmosphere is also very good. I came here with my girlfriends before and with my family this time, and I was very satisfied both times. I am willing to come again.
Love their coffee, the croissants are crispy and the main dishes are great too, with good portions. The environment is also very suitable for taking pictures, the light is very good, and it is very recommended to check in.
