Reviews of The Pocha Singapore
Love the iced water that isn’t chargeable.
Had the army stew and it was noice.
Kimchi pancake was okay! They put cheese on top which is always welcome.
Ordered corn cheese too! Waiting for it to arrive 🥹
We came on a Saturday as a group of 6 on a Saturday night at around 6pm and the place was already packed and had a small queue. We waited a short while and they actually opened a table along the outside part of the shop, felt pretty cool as it was representative of the pocha concept which apparently is like street food in Korea.
Food wise, it was definitely not a mind blowing cuisine. It’s literally Korean street food and some of it are items you probably can cook at home. But I guess it’s still fun to have it together with friends in such an environment. They have some set items where you select 3 items and it comes with beer and soju so you can make soju bomb. We had 3 of those sets, each was $88++.
Altogether, I won’t say that the prices are rip off. It’s definitely not cheap and portions aren’t big (except for the fried chicken which is top tier) but they are reasonable for the location and comparable to other Korean restaurants. Taste wise everything was great, so no complains there.
When we were having our meal, the queue continued to grow and didn’t get shorter. Definitely worth to check it out to see what the fuss is about.
Great food. Loved the jjajjang ramyeon.
Difficult to talk with friends cos the music is pretty loud.
Would avoid potato pancake however, was a little bland.
Go a bit early before 7, it gets full fast even on weekday evenings.
Service is polite and great.
food taste good! portion is abit small - for 2 pax. but if you’re coming with friends, order a few dishes to try! atmosphere is nice too
Glad to have a new Korean cafe in Holland Village! It’s a great spot to hang out over casual Korean street food and some drinks ☺️ The taste of the food is decent, with my personal favs being the fried chicken, LA Galbi and Kimchi Pancake!
Taken before we started eating these! Not only are the foods delectable, but the eatery also has a Korean street vendor vibe. Truly authentic. Highly recommended for anyone who wishes to experience the Korean hipster vibe & taste the yummy food.
atmosphere is good, q chill & the lighting makes the food look delicious but the food can be a lil salty, need get drink ah & is just like typical korean food 😅 honourable mention to the fried chicken because it is very hot & crispy! the staff is v friendly & helpful, came over to help us a few times!
Newly opened restaurant @88pochasg at Holland Village! The chef is South Korean and has stayed in Singapore for a while. He hopes to bring the Pojangmacha (covered wagon) culture into the local scene and recreate the taste of his favourite and popular Korean street food here.
The menu is divided by price:
A- $8.88
B-$11.88
C- $15.88
D- $18.88
E- $28.88
Here’s what we ordered:
• A3- Vegetable tempura
• B1- Tteokbokki
• B6- Yubu oden udon soup
• C10- Half fried chicken
• C13- Grilled garlic butter shrimp
• D1- La galbi (8pcs beef ribs)
• Canned drinks- Sikhye ($3.88) and Haitaj pear juice ($3.88)
• Red bean bingsu ($12.88)
We all enjoyed the vegetable tempura and fried chicken which were crisp and not oily. The oden soup was so addictive. We felt the beef ribs was delicious but salty, and the garlic shrimp was a bit over cooked. The ice for the bingsu was quite coarse. Serving sizes generous and great for sharing!
Food was amazing! Ambience is nice :) the waiter is also amazing, he was the only one serving at least 25 customers at once. Good job! Please give him a raise, he was very attentive, quick, and all while being polite.
Got the garlic soy chicken, oden, mentaiko fries, and bo-ssam. Got citrus highball and terra beer too. The alcohol and good combo was ULTIMATE. Best dish was the bo-ssam.
Nice Korean atmosphere. Food that we have ordered all taste great. The drinks are 👍
food was really good and seems authentic! though there are quite a few downsides…. food is on the pricier side, the place always has long queues and the service definitely needs improvement :/
This is probably the most authentic pojangmacha you’ll ever find in Singapore!
Pojangmacha, which means "covered wagon" in Korean, has been a popular spot to grab a drink or a snack in South Korea since the 70s.
Their menu is filled with all kinds of korean street food, from Tteokbokki to Army Stew, and a selection of alcohol.
I enjoyed the vibes and concept here and highly recommend to try the oden soup and cheese omelette!
Had a lovely dinner with my girlfriend on a weekday evening. We decided to try a variety of dishes, including gimmari, fried chicken, and kimchi pancake.
The fried chicken was impressively crispy and packed with flavor. The accompanying sauce complemented it perfectly, balancing out any greasiness. Both the gimmari and kimchi pancake were delightfully fragrant and had a satisfying crispiness.
The restaurant's ambiance authentically captures the atmosphere of a Korean side street, making it feel like a brief visit to Korea. This makes it a great option, especially for larger gatherings.
Tteokbokki is a must order! The sauce is really tasty. Fried chicken portion is really big, very worth! Kimchi pancake came with melted cheese 😋😋
Good Food! Good atmosphere! The serving is generous!! Slurp!
Had affordable sets with variety of choices. The staff were really friendly and recommended their chicken which was nice. The corn cheese ramyeon was worth trying too !
Excellent service I’ll be was very well marinated and so is the chicken. What’s that was the rice ball with a tuna and seaweed south with exceptional service
this place is a vibe, the food they serve really was bursting with flavor and it is super fresh as well!
All dishes were good. Fried chicken batter was tasty, and the beef ribs were fragrant
Good korea street food vibes with nice kpop music! The food is great! If you miss korea street food and the vibes, you must give this shop a try!!
Awesome place to have great and nice Korean street food. I loved their gimbap. It gives a homemade taste and the army stew is rich and tasty. Definitely worth the time and have a nice meal here if you are craving for Korean street food.
Authentic Korean vibes and food, ordered the truffle jja jangmyeon and beef galbi which were really good!!!
The dining experience at 88Pocha was an absolute delight, offering an authentic taste of Korean cuisine. The vibrant atmosphere and friendly staff added to the overall enjoyment of the meal. From the sizzling octopus to the savory kimchi ramen, mussel soup and soy fried chicken. We enjoyed the food!
I have been coming to this pocha very often! Staff are friendly and food is delicious
Tteokbokki sauce was sweet and flavourful. Fried chickenwas fragrant and tasted good
Feels like back in the Korean street! Food and staff are great.. will come back again!
Had the tteok-bokki, potato pancake and corn cheese spicy ramyeon. It was all delicious!
Amazing ambience and food is goooooooood
Very good food, good drinks. Feels exactly like Korea. Especially the coloured tables and chairs
Delicious food and cute ambience!!
Food was decent but service was outstanding! Manager kindly advised us that we ordered too much and later offered to help us dabao the food. We requested to top up soup for oden and he brought a whole bowl to help topup. He even came to us later to ask if we wanted to take part in the lucky draw as we had met the min spend! Would come back just for the service alone!
I had the oden soup and fried chicken which is really the best!
An overrated place where the food is far from the usual Korean standard. Lee mart serves better gimbap. 88 Pocha gimbap is just rice and sausage would say worst than convenience store gimbap. Price is on the steep side and the drinks price is super expensive compared to other restaurants too. Food portion is small. The ordering platform is also not friendly and their staff don’t even want to go through with us the menu as it’s complicated with the different option available. When asked they just respond with oh today don’t have bundle set.
Was lost for choice due to the large amount of dishes and the happy meal option is a great idea!
Chill casual place for pocha style korean food!
Try 1 time for the vibe can already. None of the food standout in particular and price wasn't super friendly. But staff were friendly and prompt 😁
An aircon malfunctioned halfway and aircon water pour down directly from the unit. I was seated next to it but someone else was not so lucky (Got wet cause she was seated below the unit).
The lunch set was relatively good but not outstanding. Good portion. Can be more generous with side dishes.
Nice food with great ambience.
good ambience and fried chicken really good
Nice Korean atmosphere. Food that we have ordered all taste great. The drinks are 👍
Awesome place and great food 🤩
Food and atmosphere was good. Great place to come to hang out with your friends.
excellent food during the 1 for 1 promos with good service staff
I like the streetside feel. Food is nett price
Update: please remember to get the combo. Think it's ABE or ABC or something
Ambience was solid! Food was tasty and come here with your friends and have fun time
Highly recommend! Korean vibes and the food was really good! 🤤 Definitely should try the oden soup!
Food is super wholesome, as is the ambience. Will definitely come back!
Fantastic tteokbokki. Highball was better than most places too. Good atmosphere too
Relaxing atmosphere with good food, a great place to dine and hang out w friends‼️👍🏼👍🏼
Street food vibes. Reminds me of Korea but if only it was not sg weather lol. Nice food tho, loved the truffle jajangmyeon
good vibes and good food!! highly recommend for a chill night out with friends 😊
I have always wanted to go there since its launch and it did not disappoint when I did
The ambience is GOOD and the food is very tasty, worth the price and experience
menu has an array of captivating food items & vibe is cool
Yummy food and friendly stuff! Love Tuffer Ramen.
Lively atmosphere for great Korean street food
Will highly recommend to other people. Cheers!
Great food, good ambience 5/5
Good food, good music!
Cool environment donest feel like Singapore. Staff was friendly too
Great experience at this pocha-style Korean restaurant! The atmosphere really captured the cozy and lively vibe of a Korean drinking spot, making it a good place for a casual night out
Had a great experience at this pocha style Korean restaurant! The atmosphere captured the cozy and lively feel typical of Korean bars, making it a great place for a casual night out.
One of the best Korean restaurants in Singapore. Good service and great atmosphere. All the food and drinks are delicious. May you prosper.
Good atmosphere, really looks like Korean street food style. Of course, the food is good, especially the oden soup and chicken gizzard restaurant. Drinking and listening to music~
