Reviews of Uncle Peter Hokkien Mee
Whether small or big plate, the Fried Hokkien Mee is full of wok hey and goodness. 1 of the better cooks around nowadays. A number Q or tag will be helpful so that when noodles are ready, all the customers won't look lost or take wrong orders
Came on Sunday dinner time, coffeeshop is quite quiet. Plenty of parking space behind. This is wet version Hokkien mee. The chilli was good. Overall quite good and recommended.
Has been supporting Uncle Peter in the olden days when he's at bididari. his hokkien mee never fails to fill my stomach up. I would say the best dish compared to many. Wet wet hokkien mee.. the gravy is so succulent. Try it and you will know!
Lots of smokey Wok Hei-ness, but that's about it. The prawn stock was sadly lacking depth, coming off kinda bland, the sambal failed to add on any flavor or dimension either, merely upping the heat. Ingredients were passable. Those that like their noodles drenched in sauce will appreciate this rendition. Thank goodness we didn't need to queue for this.
The hokkien mee was full of wok hey. I wouldn’t recommend it to those who cannot take the wok hey fragrance.
Arrived at 11+ and there was a short queue. The queue got longer as the lunch crowd streams in.
Go try, for big prawns and lala, only available after 3pm
The hokkien mee was delicious with decent wok hey. They were generous with the chilli when asked for more sambal chilli.
Got the $5.50 Hk mee. All my colleagues who tried it with me agreed that the taste is considerably better than Hokkien mee elsewhere 👍🏼 The chili sauce is as spicy as it can get 🥵
However, the portions size can be quite small.
Recommended to get the bigger portions.
My very picky hubby says this Hokkien mee is divine - cos it sends you to heaven earlier (lots of pork lard)! 😂
On a serious note, this is one of the best Hokkien mee we’ve had.
Worth to travel here to eat.
Well cooked.
Moist.
Chilli is spicy.
Ate the $6.50 portion
Please avoid lunch crowd.
We came, we tasted, we sighed.
Our quest to discover the best Hokkien Mee in Singapore brought us to this quaint little HDB void deck coffee shop. There has been some buzz about their Hokkien Mee, and we wanted to check it out.
When we arrived, we saw a queue that was 10 persons deep. Undeterred, we joined it. A gentlemen came out to take our order, even though we were far from being first in the queue.
Their Hokkien Mee is priced at $5.50 and $6.50. My lunch kaki ordered the $5.50 plate. I was about to do the same, until I thought of ordering the $6.50 portion, take a picture of both plates, and enable you to see the difference (see photo).
Once again, I sacrifice my waistline to bring you information!
Their Hokkien Mee is the dry version. I tasted wok hei from the first bite. The broth was tasty enough, but I detected a hint of mushiness in the noodle. I didn't like the mushy texture.
Whilst the chilli was potent, my lunch kaki was disappointed with it. Rather than complimenting the dish, the chilli totally changed the complexion and balance of the dish, cancelling out whatever was good about their Hokkien Mee. He has a point.
This will not be in our shortlist for the best Hokkien Mee in Singapore.
Located at a coffeeshop at Lengkok Bahru. Savoury, Tasty, reasonable portion for average adult consumption, however price still on the expensive end. Price starts from $5.50 per portion.
Expect wait (up to 30mins) during meal times.
Remember to wait patiently... Min.1h wait...
Hokkien Mee (HKM) more flavourful, but less wokhei compared to another, but easily top 2 in SG now...
Visited today. Got the second last plate fortuitously .
Affable uncle. Had a 15 min chat on life and uncle knows his FHM competitors by name.
Pretty good hokkien mee.
Uncle is aged with 2 very young kids to support. He needs to walk with the help of a walking stick undoubtedly due to the nature of the hard work and long hours.
Dunno can fry how long.
Principled - doesn't want to franchise as he has taken decades to build us his brand name.
Nowadays sell out by 130 pm .
Come eat while u can. Dun play play.
First experience with uncle Peter Hokkien mee and was worth the wait. Incredible tasting Hokkien mee with smoky wok hei and amazing belachan chilli. Ordered the large $6.50 portion which was huge. Definitely recommend. Tell all your friends. Incredible.
Queue from 11.15am with 15pax in front and only able to get it at 12.17pm 😂
Good wok hey and lots of favour but I guess can only support if got spare time when not working. Luckily ordered big one
A good plate of HKM. Leaning more to the wet version. Good flavour, nicely cooked.
If you are in the vincinity, worth a try. Better than your usual hawker HKM. Definitely above average.

Stall name: Uncle Peter Hokkien Mee
Location: 55 Lengkok Bahru, #01-387, Singapore 151055
Noodles: High quality noodles which maintained its bouncy texture and wok hei taste, with thin bee hoon.
Chili: Not salty, it is spicy but not overwhelmingly hot.
Pork lard: crispy, freshly fried for hours.
Toppings: pork belly, sotong, a mix of wild caught “sua lor” sea prawns, “Ang Kar” red leg sea prawns and grey prawns.
Price: starting from $5.50 for a regular plate.
Varieties: lala, big prawn, carrot cake, char kway teow, fried rice.
Uncle Peter is sincere in his craft and friendly to talk to. Hokkien Mee was so good, I had to order twice.
Had high expectation of this HKM when people raved about it and willing to queue for hour/ hours for it.
Today when I arrive, there's no queue at all.
Ordered a small portion and swiftly it's bring dished out in a couple minutes ( 3 minutes at most)
Looking for wok hey, there's none. The Zhap is not bad lah, gives load of pork lard which I don't really fancy it.
2 peeled prawns and some slices of pork nelly. Frankly an average plate of Hokkien Mee.
This stall originally was from Woodlands but now it is in relatively new coffee shop at Lengkok Bahru. Unfortunately uncle Peter is unable to cook his other dishes such as fried carrot cake and char kway teow but his Hokkien mee is really good. The sambal chilli is spicy but can make the noodles more salty. Price wise is reasonable for $5.50/$6.50. It sells bigger prawn type but only available after 3 pm. Nevertheless the normal one is good unless you can wait till after 3 pm. Stall closes every Tuesday.
Came at 2pm on Saturday. No queue. Super good plate of hokkien mee. The sauce and noodles all on point. Even the prawns are fresh and flavourful. Recommended!

Had fried hokkien mee ($5.50) for lunch, was quite good. Service was fast.
So far my go to hokkien mee to date. Came here 4times already. Freshly cooked to order. Filled with smokiness of wokhey with every bite. The chilli is to die for. Spicy kick to it for spicy lovers and the tanginess of the lime. Topped off with bits and pieces of fried pork lard that is crispy and not soaked in oil. Never fails to hit the spot every time. A gem in woodlands.
Parking on wkdays might be a bit packed. Unless u park on e main road. Or a nearby hdb.
Had a chat with uncle when i previously left this place. I recommended it to a friend and my friend told me he has ate it b4 in woodleigh. Bidadari area. Blk 115. He was sad uncle moved to woodlands. Haha.
Legit good Hokkien prawn mee. Don’t stay around the area but came down after watching the TikTok marketing for this uncle. Been looking for fried Hokkien prawn noodles which is of this quality for a while but to no avail and finally found one now.
We queued for 40mins to get our plates of the most authentic old school sotong mee. The noodles had wok hey and the prawn soup taste was savoury but not overpowering. Each plate came with big fresh prawns, substantial sotong and pork belly pieces. I have to mention Uncle Peter was very generous with the crispy pork lard. He was friendly and accommodating. And the chilli! Fantastic chilli, on point. It was a well worth it 32km trip and 40mins queue for this truly Singaporean dish. Strongly recommend.
Gentle uncle serving a good rendition of Fried Hokkien Mee filled with wok hei and umami accompanied by an excellent sambal belachan that provides a powerful kick! Good job Uncle Peter!
Went at 9:50am and Uncle Peter is ready to serve! So glad that he is near town compared to his previous location. From the looks of the pic, Needless to say on the taste, I cleared the whole plate in less than 10 mins.
Had a delicious plate of Char Kway Teow here. Must try in Woodleigh. Uncle Peter was kind enough to make a batch for me just as he was about to close. The Hokkien Mee is also in high demand.
Overhyped, overrated and somewhat overpriced. Prices range from $5.50 to $22.50. The queue can be as long as 45 minutes during lunch hour. The power of social media preying on the herd mentality of a competitive society... at least food critics can earn a good living writing about anything and for anyone who would pay for a good review...
Yummy Hokkien Mee with char taste! ❤️
Fresh prawn and pork, worth going for people who enjoy slightly wet Hokkien Mee.
Edit : Finally got it on the 3rd try. Nice wok hey, not stingy on ingredients, chilli packed a punch. Wifey and kids really loved it.
Very difficult to eat here. Thursday go at 1pm, customers waiting tell us the queue is moving slowly, about 1hr wait to clear the 10+ orders in front. Friday come here at 3pm, say close le.
Maybe can try after the hype dies down. If he is still operating...
Definitely a decent plate of Hokkien mee, a rare find in Singapore. It’s a shame the location isn’t more convenient, or I’d visit more often.
friendly uncle. solid hokkien mee with a spicy chilli
Came to try since there were so much hype and i was just around the vicinity. Underwhelming experience. To me, taste quite bland, more of burnt taste to me. Pork lards and chilli were not bad. Have the potential though.
Bit of a hidden gem in this area. Worth visiting for a good plate of hokkien mee. Generous with sotong and prawns, and got version with lala too.
Well priced.
A good plate of hokkien mee must have that basic hokkien mee taste, favour, aroma and texture. An excellent plate come come with it's own nuanced favour. This stall hokkien mee is one of those.
It's OK. Doesn't live up to the hype. A little too much char, a little too soggy and with a broth that perhaps isn't as rich as it should be. Definitely have the hokkien mee nearby at abc instead if you're in the area.
Good and not too long q at lunchtime, loved the chilli
The noodles, chilli and pork lard are sooooooooooooo goooooood!! Finished it before we could take photos.
Went at an off-peak time, so didn't have to queue. Uncle Peter is really friendly. He was taking stock of what he has available before committing. There were a few customers like us who went to ask if can order. He explained that he need to check first. We decided to get a cuppa of drink and just wait 10 mins to see if he can. After a few mins, He walked over to ask us how many plates we want! Yippee!! Got chance!
He went on to whip out a few plates for the customers. After that, he walked over to our table again to explain the situation. He wanted to be sure before he took the order as his broth was running out. The noodles are so good that we didn't even notice that there was no squid, until he pointed out to us that he ran out of them.
He also explained that his prawns also running out and while it doesn't take long to cook prawns, it takes a longer time to peel. This is gonna be our frequent joint! Hope the others also understand that hawker is really not an easy career. He also has family to care for, so he needs to take time to attend to family matters. I hope this gem can go on for many years to come! 😊
Packed hokkien mee while nearby. First time trying, felt that the wok hei was lacking IMHO. Could be better.
Delicious hokkien mee, flavourful and robust shrimp taste.Add lards for additional shiok😋.
Very long q so come early.
Brought 1 packets of hokkien mee cheapest $5.80. Chilli very spicy and fried k t. Cheapest $4.80.Hokkien mee taste good can try.Fried k t soso.....wet type. Need to wait abit longer for the food to be prepare as uncle are abit slow.
Yup. Very good. Awesome belacan!
One of the best Hokkien Mee I have eaten. The prawns and sotong were fresh. Noodles quite wet which was nice. Sambal balachan chilli was spicy and delicious. Will definitely be back, Uncle Peter!
Wonderful plate of Hokkien mee I tried. Just the right amount of wetness. Authentic traditional old school taste. Very few remaining having such authentic taste any more.
Awesome portion at $6.50, pork lard was unfortunately not crispy.
One of the best hokkien mee that i have had. The mee’s flavours were infused with the prawn stock. Simply delicious! Love the starchy noodles.
Uncle Peter hockkien mee has move to woodland industrial nine. Amazing. I like the taste of the mee with a mixture of bee Hoon and pork lark . Heavenly. Will come again surely.
uncle peter was very friendly and the hokkien mee is damm good, got the very authentic hokkien mee taste and i had a enjoyable time here
A good plate of noodles..
Very good Hokkien mee, worth the calories! Lol
I love uncle’s Hokkien mee so much!!! I came down specially from Bukit Panjang to get it!
Awesome prawn noodles with pork lard! Will definitely visit again
Like that it uses thin bee hoon.
Decent plate of FHM
The boss is very kind and generous with the ingredients. They use fresh shrimps, shredded pork belly, flower branches and eggs, paired with fresh lard residue, so the overall taste is delicious. Sanqian is also very surprised, a must-try! ! !
