Reviews of Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple
Takes you straight to India in a time warp. Beautiful people and sacred ancient culture.
Very nice and amazing. The façade is detailed and iconic, and you can get your fill of photos just from being outside the temple. The place is great. Take into consideration you should be dressed appropriately to enter the temple and being able to see what's inside so in summer days take it into consideration so you dress fresh and appropriate to get in.
Good architectural work along with recognised temple by the Hindus. Good location in little india.
Nice Hindu temple. I have seen many non Indian visit this temple.
Unfortunately, I didn't have the opportunity to explore the temple, but it was a beautiful sight to see in passing.
Nice to see the locals gathering here, seeking the calmness and inner peace
Sree Veeramakaliamman Temple is one of the oldest Hindu temples in Singapore, located in the vibrant Little India district. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Kali, the fierce form of the Divine Mother, known for her strength and protection. It is a major religious and cultural hub for the Hindu community in Singapore.
Key Features:
Deity: The temple is dedicated to Sri Veeramakaliamman, a powerful form of Goddess Kali, who is worshipped as the destroyer of evil forces. Other deities like Lord Ganesha, Lord Shiva, and Lord Murugan are also worshipped in the temple.

The gopuram is adorned with vibrant sculptures of various Hindu gods and goddesses. The interior is equally mesmerizing with beautifully carved pillars and altars dedicated to different deities.

The temple holds historical significance as it remained a place of solace during the Japanese occupation of Singapore in World War II.

The temple’s spiritual ambiance and stunning architecture make it a landmark of Little India and a testament to the enduring faith of the Hindu diaspora in Singapore.
Very beautiful temple.
They have a place where u can leave your shoes outside and running water to wash your feet. They gave us prasad as well.
I was surprised to visit such a beautiful temple. It was a blessing for us. That was the first time in my life when I saw Lakshmidurgai.
While strolling through Little India one will notice a line of people stretching out a good distance-all waiting to enter the temple.
You must take off your shoes, if barefoot, you will have to wash your feet, and upon entering the ornate detail of the temple will leave you aghast at the intricate beauty. Another must visit location while in Singapore.
One of the oldest Hindu Temples in Singapore. Every religions and races are welcome to visit this Temple.

One of the best Indian temples in Little India Singapore. Ancient Hindu architecture and sculpture
When we went there, theres ongoing mass(or how do day call the religions ritual). Anyways, its like your in another place because of the music, it is solemn. And youre with different gods of hindu , so its a good experience.
Beautiful temple having the murtis of mainly Veer Kali Mata, Lord Ganesha, Lord Nataraja, Goddess Goddess Saraswati.
Everyday peaceful , I'm happy
God gives all good, bad, happy, sad ,
All,, ....
I need some time, need only I use
Something don't wants but gives
I'm not use it
This is a great place to visit in the Little India neighborhood in Singapore. It is convenient to Bugis and worth checking out. My understanding is that it is a bit unusual being a Kali temple based on the South Indian population in Singapore. But, it has some great historical significance of being a refuge during bombings in WWII (Kali protected them). Would definitely recommend a visit of the temple and the larger neighborhood.
Very popular temple among local who have realised the power of prayers from here.
A must go for tourists to have a memorable experience... A tip, if you know little story behind the gods it would be useful !

An iconic temple, not too far from little India MRT station. Oh and you must take off your shoes before enter the temple.
The temple is very beautiful and usually filled with people but the line is moving fast
I am truly fond of this temple.very strong positive vibes. You can sit in the temple premises for hours. The priests seem friendly too. I am personally fond of this temple.
Very busy on a Sunday! Great energy around! Highly recommend a stop by in this colorful neighborhood!
Beautiful experience. Wonderful deities. What an experience . Thank-you for the temple staff and Maa kali for letting us visit.
Beautiful gold ornaments of dieties and statues line the outside and inside of this sacred religious place of worship. One of the most famous Indian temples in Singapore. Foreigners are welcome, do abide by the dress code for both man and woman. Long pants or dress.
Religious place, main deity in goddess Veeramakaliamman in sanctum sanctorum, other deities are lord Ganesh and lord muruga, goddess lakshmidurga , Navagraha sannidhi, Bhairavar and others...
Prayers are offered here ,
This is one of the most sacred Hindu Temples in Singapore. A must visit. Spiritually and culturally rich.
At little india, must visit temple.
Shorts not allowed.
Peaceful.
Close to mustaffa
In the hustle and bustle of contemporary life, this temple serves as a perfect sanctuary for a much-deserved mental downtime. Such peaceful ambience! One of the oldest temples in Singapore. From its humble beginnings as a modest courtyard in the late 19th century, this temple has seen progressive developments over the years. It has been frequented by five generations of my extended family members staring from my great grandparents in the 1890s.
I have a gripe with the cleanliness of the temple. There are bird droppings on the statues that adorn the top of the sanctums in the interior of the main hall, spanning across the sanctums of Lord Ganesha to Lord Muruga. I hope the management can look into spending funds given by the temple towards routine cleaning and maintenance, instead of waiting for the consecration ceremony that is held every twelve years.
While the priests are very accomodating, there are one or two 'odd balls' who tend to be indifferent to locals and are partial to Indian immigrants from their own homeland India. In a place of worship, I believe everyone ought to be treated equally. Thanks.
Feel blessed. Most Hindu Goddesses and Gods are worshipped. Like typical temples it's clean & well maintained. Easy to access.
Beautiful architecture hindu tample, place at serangon Road, little India, nearst MRT Station is Jalan besar Station, please use respectful uniform if you visit this place, possible for take pictures inside, tample have a praying schedule for hindustan
Stopped by this temple when I visited Little India in Singapore. This temple and their ceremonies resembled so much another Kaliamman temple I used to visit as a childhood in Salem, India. A visit to this temple promises an immersive south indian cultural experience in Singapore without even visiting India.
Must visit temple. Had a very peaceful darshan.
This temple have a lot of new things I've never seen before. Must visit to this place when you travel to Singapore
Holy place n shrine for shakti devotees. Gd. My father goes to this temple.

Great most popular Hindu temple
Holy Hindu temple. Always worship by the devotees. Friday Saturday and Sunday always big crowd.
There are many Tamil gods in the temple. When I first saw it in Singapore, it was very good, like a hometown feeling. I am so blessed 😍. The temple was located in Little India (Dekha). The atmosphere and interior design of the temple was so great. I want to visit every week.
Nice temple with many ritual activities of the community.
A super beautiful temple to which is so colorful and bright. From the outside there is a moment of stop and stare and then you realize you can go in! I would suggest going in and seeing the rituals and cultures that you find in there. A great thing to see.
Good devotional place in little India.
Which is very nearer to my Hostel Blue Jazz.
Grandiose of a shrine to find spiritual sojourn in the buzzing heart of Little India , Singapore.
If you are a south Indian, then visiting this temple in Little India gives a feeling of not missing your native. If you are from other country this is a great place to know about the traditional cultures of south India. It has long history, built by Tamils during the British colonial era and recently renovated with bright beautiful color. A great place to make a quick visit to India within Singapore. This. Place is very crowded on festival timings.
Very conveniently located temple. Hard to miss if you are visiting Little India. Nice temple. If anyone has plans for temple visit followed by groceries shopping, dinning, then this should be the right choice.
Divine and good place for worshipping
and photo shoot place as well
Street photographers will surely love the place to take some good photos!
Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple is little India's busiest and oldest temple. The temple was built in 1881 and was renovated in 1999 and again in 2014. The temple is dedicated to the Hindu goddess Kali which is popular in Bengal, the birthplace of the laborers who built the temple. You can enter the temple and enjoy its colorful statues and the beautiful detail of the architecture. It is free to visit and be sure to take your shoes off before entering the temple.
Hindu temple, as if you were transported to the South of India.
Powerful temple and iconic place of Singapore.
Ancient temple of culture and heritage with modernized amenities to inspire all walks of public to have a peaceful visit and offer prayers to their beloved God and Goddesses. The management abides by the government regulations to keep up the environment hygiene
When you enter the Temple and you feel inner peace. You feel light. You quickly feel a connection with Maa. Other Than that who I am to review Maa'S temple.
The most famous religious building in Little India
The temple is being renovated and most of it is covered with white cloth.
There is a special prayer event upon arrival and is not open to tourists. (October 3-October 13)
⚠️You need to take off your shoes when visiting
❌No revealing or revealing clothes, such as short skirts and backless
The special lighting on the streets seems to be exclusive to India's "Deepavali"
Full of Indian style
There are super colorful Indian-style buildings in front of you, and most of the people walking on the street are Singaporeans of Indian descent. It feels like you have arrived in India.
I was lucky enough to see a Hindu temple ceremony today.
Follow the instructions at the door and you won’t be afraid of violating taboos.
I also hope you can donate at the entrance, and I also invested 2 yuan when entering the country.
The entire building is filled with statues and several gods are worshiped inside. You can buy lamps and candles to worship the gods.
The temple also provides snacks and food for sharing.
Believers will bring offerings to worship their gods. Perhaps they want to worship that god.
Well worth visiting.
Come during the Deepavali festival, beautifully decorated at night with lots of people.
If I remember correctly, 30 years ago this area was a square with people sleeping in India lying down. Nowadays, it is quiet in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the city, and it has a nice atmosphere, which is nice.
This is a photo shoot only.
Nearby Mustafa Center (supermarket)
I went before stopping by.
Such a wonderful place for prayer 🙏
