Shifan is a great therapist who takes the time to understand not only the issues and concerns the client faces at the moment, but also delve into past life experiences and help them gain awareness as to how they are shaped as a person emotionally and behaviorally.
She has also provided much needed clarity and understanding on how one can develop into an emotionally healthy individual.
Currently still having ongoing sessions with Shifan as it is really helpful.
Have been with Shifan for more than 10 sessions and counting. She is professional, gentle and caring, most importantly her practice of therapy is effective and genuine.
It is not dogmatic like how I used to imagine what psychotherapy is like. She helps me to start self-analysis, to identify and decipher my emotions, and to dig in my memories for long-buried historical events that may have caused the traumas.
Shifan does not automatically solve my problems, rather she teaches me to approach my problems from a different point of view. For more than a decade I lived in a messy state of mind. Thanks to Shifan I am now able to heal myself with tools and knowledge she provides.
Shifan's timing is flexible, and she provides therapy sessions through zoom meetings as well. The rate is reasonable.
Strongly recommend The North Star Therapy for anyone who is in need of help!
I have benefited a lot from my sessions with Shifan. She is very perceptive and patient, and makes me feel comfortable and safe during our sessions. I strongly recommend everyone to try therapy regardless of whether you're facing any issues currently, as it really helps with discovering yourself and improving general mental well-being too. A trial session with North Star Therapy could be a good place to start, and to see if you feel comfortable and if this is right for you.
I had few session with Shifan and I find it useful for self discoveries. I can feel with each session, I am learning more and understand myself better.
I find each session, Shifan will try her best to make it a comfortable session as it is not easy to open up yourself especially toward painful memory and I am grateful for her help.

I grew up in a native family that my parents said was full of love, but in fact the so-called beauty was entirely their imagination and there were countless real problems. It has been ten years since I discovered the problem, and I have been plagued by it. While I worked hard to get over it, I also tried the help of several psychological counselors.
In my own experience, Shifan is the counselor who has helped me the most. She is empathetic, easy to empathize with others, patient, and non-judgmental. She is professional and passionate about her work, constantly educating herself to better help herself and others. I have been following her for more than half a year, starting from the topic of self-repair in the family of origin, which also affects all aspects of the present. With her help, I look at the past more calmly, embrace the present more enthusiastically, integrate into the role of a new mother more smoothly, and am eager to explore more of my potential. I will continue. The road to self-healing and parenting is long, so keep up the good work.
I was raised in a so-called "loving" family, in fact it's not loving at all but full of trauma. It's been a decade since I, myself, noticed the issue and I've been suffering a lot since then. I tried to pull myself together and meanwhile tried to reach a couple of therapists for help.
In my own experience, the most helpful therapist for me should be Shifan. She's full of empathy, patient and no judge. She's professional and so passionate about her job. She keeps engaging in advanced studies so that she can provide better help for both herself and her clients. I've been having sessions with her for more than half a year. We've been working on the child-hood trauma and self recovery from that, and meanwhile it affects a lot in the present. more passionately,and I fit in my new role –a new mommy, more smoothly,and I'm eager to discover more of my potential. I will keep on this long journey of self recovery and parenting. Let's do it!
