Headmaster Mr Park is a highly experienced and dedicated instructor with over 15 years in teaching Taekwondo. You can see his warmth and commitment to excellence through how he interacts with each and every student. He knows how to encourage students to try out new things and participate actively in class activities, even for students who tend to be more shy. Together with Mr Park, there are the excellent instructors Ms Shin, Mr Won and Ms Cho who are all graduants from Kyung Hee University and Yong In University, the top two Taekwondo universities in Korea. They are deeply knowledgeable in their skillsets and are highly adept in making Taekwondo both fun and interesting for children to learn. They always like to encourage the children to do their best and the follow a progressive manner of teaching. They introduce techniques gradually such that the skills are not too difficult for the students but just challenging enough for them to get them to step out of their comfort zone. While the school is focused on creating a fun and enjoyable learning experience for students, it is also no short of an excellent and highly focused training program for those who want to do well and train at a higher level. The school regularly holds poomsae and sparring classes which are highly specialized and which are curated from top training programs followed by the Korean national team. Sometimes, when the students make mistakes, the instructors will be firm with them and correct them on their technique and ask them to do the drill again. This might come across as intimidating to students, but parents and students should know that the instructors always come from a place of good intentions and will never set out to hurt the student. At the end of the day, the instructors just want to see the student improve and become a better, more resilient version of themselves. For some, this may seem as a ‘non-contemporary’ approach, but for those who can see the value in this style of teaching, it is exactly the guidance and coaching that students need to excel in their field. Students who place their trust in the instructors and in the methods of the teaching team will go on to acquire a high proficiency in Taekwondo and often do very well in local and even international competitions. All in all, Taeseong Taekwondo is an excellent school to send your children to. If you want your children to pick up a new skill, keep fit and make friends along the way, Taeseong Taekwondo is the place to be. You can trust the school to teach your children not only how to respect elders, teachers and parents, but also how to respect their peers, friends as well as themselves. The school helps to instill important character traits such as discipline and self control, which will invariably help your children in the future. Lastly, it also gives them a place they can call their second home where they can feel that they belong.
