Great Coach! GREAT STUDIO! Amazing vibes! My son looks forward to his training sessions with Coach Aloysius every week. For unlimited sessions for 3 months, the price is very affordable for 90min / session.
I’ve been going to this gym for 4 months and I have made significant improvements since the beginning. You will notice that the coach can be very strict and I have been very scared for a while that I didn’t come for a few lessons. But in the end, it’s all worth it. This gym will teach you the best and the correct techniques that I believe other gyms won’t teach. This is the gym to go if you want to push yourself out of the comfort zone and develop yourself and if you want to be the best at doing Muay Thai. There are also great and funny moments too. Overall, I would recommend this gym to you if you’re someone that wants to improve yourself.
Hi all
I am joseph, a trainer at united muay thai. I have purposely created a new google ac to deliver a message.
I have been at the gym since late 2017, joining as a student and now helping out as a trainer. Its my personal comments and i felt that i should voice out my views. The purpose of writing this is to address the vicious nature of recent personal attack from some keyboard warriors. In our gym, there are quite a number of senior students that have training since day 1, much more vintage than myself. However we have never seen students with names such as Kenny, Krystal, Jav ci Yaee , Jake T or even James Ngg.
One thing I know abt Aloysius. Most of the students and all the trainers stayed on long until today is because he is always real, sincere and true to himself and everyone around him, He will not bend the rules or be hypocrite to others. He likes to joke around but does not put on a superficial mask. It’s really puzzling why he was picked up against in the review. He don’t deserve such finger pointing treatment in those reviews. Thank u. :)
A welcoming place that specialises in Muay Thai. The training crew, and head coach Aloysius look out for everyone and are dedicated to training proper techniques. Although the training is strict, there's an inclusive community that takes the time to work through things together on stuff you don't know.
Fun gym to train at. Head coach, Aloysius, taught me many techniques and footwork of Muay Thai. A good place to train at as the environment is friendly over there and is easy to mix around with the people there. Aloysius never fails to make every training a fun and meaningful one for me. Much credits to Aloysius.
I was in United Muay Thai in October 2021. Told Head Coach Aloysius that I wanted to be a fighter and my passion for Muay Thai is sincere and true. Yes, Coach Aloysius can be fierce at times, but he did it to push yourself to be better. Most of the time, he will spend quality 1 on 1 training with me, asking me to come earlier and end later just to touch up on my techniques. Very disappointing to see so many bad remarks about this gym. I’ve tried OnyxMMA, ImpactMMA, MUSE, Hilltop and other gyms in Thailand itself, United Muay Thai is the closest gym I’ve seen to an authentic gym. Recommended for those who really wants to learn true Muay Thai! :)
Been attending lessons at this gym for almost a year now, at first the struggle was hard because my fitness wasn’t as spectacular and I was almost always getting sick half way through the year. Aloysius thought strict, helped me realise that I won’t get anywhere if I don’t do anything to get better. There has been times in my life when I feel so overwhelmed and going to United Muay Thai has helped me distress. I really enjoy the time I spent working out in this gym, though the culture may be strict and “offensive” to some people I feel that if I didn’t go to this gym I wouldn’t be as diligent and focused on my life. I’m currently getting better from a fever, I hope to join them again soon :) Thank you Aloy!
Learning muay Thai at united for a long time. It takes years to see how much we had grown, Instructor is strict and can be demanding but it depends on self tolerance level if you can learn from him or break under him.
Totally good experience for me and my buddy. We GAIN more than loss! Good JOB united Muay Thai.
Highly recommended if you want to learn muay thai. I have been training at united muay thai for about a year and all i can say is that the environment is amazing. The coach is very technical and ensures each and every student understands how and what is going on. He teaches everyone no matter level the same way. It is unbiased. He ensures the students perfects the technique and is patient. He explains clearly on how each technique should be done and the people at the gym are very friendly. The trainers are also very enthusiastic and teaches well. It has truly been an amazing journey and it will continue to be.
Great and friendly trainers! Great workout if the typical gym/jogging doesn't work for you
Instructor are knowledgeable and friendly. good place to learn muay thai or exercise. Highly recommended 👍
One of the few gyms that you can have fun and at the same time learn about the art of muay thai. Funny and dedicated trainer.
A good and Nice place to train. Good instructor to guide you along. Learnt a lot over the past few months.
Instructors are professional and friendly. Fun gym to train at
Clean gym, friendly environment, dedicated trainers. Good place for authentic Muay Thai
Great place to train at. Best enjoyed when you leave your ego behind.
Only for those who wants serious training. Not for those who like sweet talk.
Friendly and passionate trainers.
I've been going for almost half a year now. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to learn Muay Thai properly, improve their basic physical strength, or learn fighting techniques. It will also help a lot with losing weight.
The general class order is
- Jumping rope (running)
- Stretching (strength training with dumbbells, etc.)
- Learning Muay Thai movements
- Applying movements to the sandbag
- Repetitive training on the sandbag such as punches, kicks, knee kicks, elbows, etc.
- 1:1 mitt striking training
- Learning advanced techniques such as sparring or parrying, counters, and grabs
First of all, you can think of the training intensity as continuous exercise for almost 1.5 to 2 hours without a long break. Don't think of it as a light gym class for office workers in Korea. If you just do what you're told, you'll be able to get what you want.
I personally recommend that anyone who has never learned fighting sports try it for at least 3 months. Even if you only learn how to extend your fist, one-two, and kick, you will gain the skills and confidence to subdue someone of the same weight class who has never learned anything.
The trainers try to get to know each student. That way, they can provide customized instruction that suits each person's progress. In fact, even if you take classes at the same time, they change the class content a little to suit each person's level.
The instructor is known to be strict, but here's a tip: Don't be afraid, but express what you want clearly and precisely. He is so passionate and flexible that he will give you more personal instruction or adjust the class content. If it's hard, say it's hard. He will naturally give you a break. If your wrist hurts when you punch, say it hurts. He will kindly correct you one by one.
I've met three other instructors besides the instructor, and they are all great people. They all have different personalities, but they are all skilled and have a lot to learn from. Sometimes, you can see the trainers sparring with each other, and it's amazing and cool. I remember being amazed when I saw the normally gentle instructor do a Brazilian kick in real life. ㅎㅎ
To sum it up, it's a place where you can learn more than you put in the effort!
