Reviews of NHGP Toa Payoh Polyclinic
The staff are friendly, hard-working and sincere, love the people here. But the level of care I love less, get the feeling all the consultants do is follow a rule book which no doubt they have memorized like rote. And they do so because it means cheaper care from the perspective of the clinic not patients and it would generate more income from so many lab tests.
Note: as of April 2021, there’s NO parking within the clinic... the v few lots can’t be accessed now as the entire Carpark area is occupied by a tent for covid vaccination.
Normal polyclinic service standard lo. Elderly staff at the registration kiosks can be impatient. Nurses at vaccination rooms are usually friendly, chatty and patient maybe because dealing w kids.
Last year a newbie staff took blood from my kid and somehow didn’t do it properly so it coagulated. my poor child had to get pricked again. But they were apologetic and got a senior staff to do it or stand beside
(I cannot remember now) the 2nd time.
Before covid , managed to get a q number to see normal gp online. Saw the gp within 15mins of waiting. Fast and convenient. Not sure about now
I love the service at Toa Payoh polyclinic! Once I came in late (passed my appointment time due to not able to get a cab) and my girl was burning up again. The nurse was so worried about her 39.8 degree temperature that she gave us a "advance ticket" so I am able to see doctor within 10 mins time instead of having to come back again in the afternoon. I was so thankful to her! Too bad didn't get her name. Thank you whoever you are!
Services at Ang Mo Kio polyclinic however, is the exact opposite. Rude & inexperienced junior doctor (Jonathan Tan) who snapped at me when I asked him too many questions just because he couldn't decide on a diagnosis. I was so taken aback! In the end I had to wait there 3 hours (with appointment made) & even come back again in the afternoon to collect my girl's medicine. I don't mind the waiting time because if you want subsidised rate you can't ask for the sky but rudeness is another thing....
The staff were really polite and helpful. Doctor was patient enough to ask and explain. Did not wait too long. Overall wasnt as bad as I thought a public healthcare service provider...☆☆☆☆
Busy. Hv service staff to assist at kiosk for registration & payments
Dentals doctor kindly, but location too far from MRT/Bus interchange.
