M. I.Loved the hotel thoroughly, travelled with my 5 year old daughter, the room is comfortable and had some good sleep quality, all the basic amenities what you need is available. Breakfast is super with a wide choice, what else can you ask for? Walking distance to the Shaw plaza and many transport services available, 5 minutes to the city centre. A special thanks to Richard at reception was very helpful and professional. Overall all staff were friendly. The Pizza at the bar is another hit, my daughter loved it.

Manager Mr Joe and Mr Jeff was very accommodating and showed us to our table very efficiently. The waiter and waitress are also very efficient, clearing the table very fast.

Below were some of my favourite dishes. Manager Joel was courteous as well. The place is very clean and sanitary which I like, as it has been newly revamped.

Indeed delicious! Just walk in and you would be greeted by the cool breeze and scent of the dishes. The staff, especially Mr Gelvin, would walk around regularly and plaster on a smile to ensure they swiftly collect your finished delights. The friendliness of the waiters would be the light to your dull evening. Overall, this is a definitely recommended restaurant. Perfection.
P. S.We booked a 5 night stay at your hotel at Novena. The service is really amazing and our stay has been very comfortable. Joel and all his staff are very friendly and cordial. We will definitely stay at your hotel during our next visit to Singapore.

I thoroughly enjoyed all the dishes and the service was outstanding. Galvin and Joel went out of their way to explain the different dishes and how they all go together. These guys are the best! However, Ms. Maureen & Mr. Richard of the frontdesk staff handled my concern promptly and courteously, quickly replacing the beddings to ensure a comfortable stay. M. S.Loved the design of a small couch and table in a guest room. Noise from the hallway and neighbouring connecting room was an issue. Needs physical noise prevention measures. Room for improvement of breakfast. Lime and Sugarcane on the 3rd floor are the hotel’s meeting and event spaces.

N. W.I am staying here for few days, everything is fine. The staff is professional and the room is clean. The quality of breakfast is acceptable, except the sewage smell from the bathroom in my room.
There are a lot of people complained this already and I experienced the smell everyday (esp. the morning and late evening time… much more serious). I don’t know why the hotel management saw these comments but hasn’t had any solutions to fix, as it’s a chain hotel brand with good reputation.
Please fix it now.

R. K.We loved our stay at Holiday Inn Express and Suites Novena. We booked a Suite with Kitchenette which was very spacious for our family of 3. The room was extremely neat and clean. It had a queen bed enough for 2 adults and another sofa bed in a seperate room, which our 9 yo son used comfortably. The mattress on the sofa bed could have been better though.
The bathroom was well equipped with all the necessities, extra towels and most importantly a bidet! The suite had a little kitchenette with microwave, mini fridge, a small dining table and cutlery, which was perfect to bring food from outside during meal times. We got the room on the highest floor so the view of the city was amazing too.
We had additionally booked a standard room for the first and last night of a 5 night trip, as we were landing early and checking out late night. Mr. Richard was nice enough to give us the suite early on the day we checked in, instead of the standard room we had booked, since it was available. Unfortunately as the hotel was fully booked, we could not continue in the suite on the final night. We moved to the standard room on the last day; but again, they gave us the room early so we could move our luggage and head out for the day.
The standard room however, is much smaller than the suite. It is also not sound proof. We could clearly hear our neighbors and it was disturbing during the night. It is probably ideal for one night or single or business travellers who won't have a lot of luggage or spend too much time in the room. So we were happy to be there for just a few hours. Again, the room and bathroom was very neat. The only aspect where the hotel falls short, is breakfast. The options are very limited and repetitive, including fresh fruits and vegetables. In the 4 mornings we were there, we had the same breakfast every alternate day. It would be great if they increased the spread and options. Other than that, our stay was great at this hotel and we would highly recommend staying here.

The breakfast selection was impressive, offering a range of Asian and English-American options. While the distance from the nearest MRT station may inconvenience some guests, the helpfulness of the reception staff added to the overall positive experience. Additionally, the newly renovated accommodations were exceptionally clean and provided a comfortable stay. Overall, a satisfying experience.

y. b.Went for work. Had to stay for three nights. Their service was top notch. The pool and gym was located right next to our room which made it very easy to start the day with a workout and swim. They had a western breakfast menu on all three days and it was delicious. The rooms were crowded but I guess that’s the situation all over Singapore. It was clean and the bathroom was also neat. The staff were very helpful and ensured customer satisfaction particularly a front desk officer named Murugesan. Enjoyed the stay very much!

E.Booked this hotel as it is newly renovated and was glad I did. Love the cleanliness. As a young team, the staffs worked seamlessly to provide exceptional service to make us feel comfortable. Special mentions to Mr Pandian and Miss Madeline, as well as the other front desks staffs. They went above and beyond and we really appreciate it. The breakfast spread was a good selection. Only down side would be the location as the station was a fair walk away.
T. M.Booked a one night staycay at this new hotel. Room is decent for a one night stay for two pax. Location is good, walking distance (10mins) to a nearby mall (Shaw Plaza). There’s a supermarket in the mall and a few restaurants. Along the way there’s convenient stores as well. The staffs doesn’t seems to be very familiar with the check in process, so it took slightly longer (as compared to other hotels we went to). But overall is okay as there’s no queue at all. The bed is not the most comfortable one, a bit too hard for my liking. The pillows are too soft and flat for me. We got a corner room located at the 11th floor (which is also a connecting room), the sound proofing is not good. We can hear the neighbour next door watching TV. Our room comes with breakfast, food is decent. Check out was fuss free. Overall experience is not bad.

S. I.The hotel is good, the bed is soft, but the pillows are a bit flat. The room is clean, but the elevator is a little small. There were a lot of people going down in the morning and there weren't enough elevators. The breakfast buffet doesn't have enough seats so you have to wait in line.

R.There are two issues that make me very dissatisfied:
First, my bathroom smells very bad all the time. Since I had a stay of more than ten days, I had to buy fragrance and other related products to remove it. Even so, it was a slight relief. Even with the toilet lid tightly closed, you can still smell it. I didn't choose to complain because I understood that it was not the cleaning staff's fault. But I still hope you can find the problem and solve it in time. In addition, the sound insulation effect of the room is also very poor. The sound from next door always makes me have a bad rest at night.
Second, when I checked out on the 14th, because you only had one receptionist, there were many people queuing up. When choosing payment, there are two options: CAD and SGD. I asked the receptionist which one was more cost-effective and was told that my bank charges a 2.5% conversion fee if I pay in Singapore dollars. He answered me that both were the same. I trusted your staff and paid Canadian dollars. Due to the long wait, I rushed to the airport and didn't look at the receipt carefully.
After I returned to Canada, I sorted through the receipts and discovered that a 4.25% conversion fee had been charged for paying in Canadian dollars, which was 1.75% more than paying in Singapore dollars. It’s not “all the same” as you staff say.
It wasn't a lot of money, but I was disappointed. I think it's because your staff wasn't professional enough and didn't explain it to me carefully that led to this result. This is contrary to the "thoughtful and meticulous" service principle pursued by your hotel.
As a member of IHG, I have always trusted the Holiday Inn brand. As a reputable hotel, I hope you can refund the 1.75% extra conversion fee I paid, totaling 22.20 CAD.
