Reviews of Hotel 81 Cosy
I came with my family (7 persons). We got 3 rooms (3-2-2). The room is pretty small but I don't really mind because I only use it to sleep and shower. The staffs were really nice. This hotel is good for budget traveling.
The hotel is a good choice for business travelers who just need a room for luggage while you go about your day's work. It is walking distance from Chinatown, most everything you need is nearby. Cafes, bars, 711, bakeries and hawker stalls can be a walk away. The price is very reasonable for its location. Montree and his team are very very helpful and have been very patient with us. Highly recommended.
No window in the room, but it's ok, since the room is clean.
Location is good in Chinatown, and also near from haji lane, kampong glam.
We stayed for 2 nights.
The reception is really good, especially the person with suit and tie, also when we need something, fast response and helpful, unfortunately we don't have the name of the staff.
I would say rooms are below average, but you don't have many choices when you're short of budget in Singapore. I wasn't happy with it but couldn't complain much. Location wise, it is very strategic as it is in the middle of China town and close to Maxwell, Outram Park, and such. During the day and night, you might hear noises from other rooms and pubs outside, so be wary before you choose this hotel.
Stayed a few days in Hotel 81 Cosy, Counter staffs are very helpful, Jimmy provided information to us on where to eat and we managed to check in earlier than the usual 3pm which gave a time to explore the surrounding area. Montree who is very friendly and provided us with all the interesting places to visit and provide information as how to get there. He goes extra mile to help us. Great location, and clean bed to sleep and place to shower.
Hotel rooms are perfect for solo travellers and also affordable. Location is quite good and lively. The service is so good, they always ready to help you out. Specially Mr. Montree, he is always polite and ready to help you for all the queries.
Great for overnight! However, not a family friendly hotel, location is in part of the red light district. But, it's located around restaurants with great food!! If you want to try great true Singapore food this hotel is located literally next door to the best!! But watch out for hookers at night 😅
The hotel is very cosy and very convenient all places are near and the staff are very helpful and advisable also specially Mr Mantree is a very helpful and lot of kindness any time ready to help. Even the room Hosekeeping Tay is very good and clean the room very well and very clean. . I shall recommend this hotel to anyone and surely will come back again.
The staff very friendly, kind and give many information about singapore.
His english is very fluent and easy to understand.
We enjoy Our Stay in a simple quite and comfortable way, reception guys to Montree, Jimmy and Shao Qi, is soo accommodating and to the housekeeping Tay & Roslan keeping our room clean & tidy.
I requested for a high level room for two ago but turn out I have to stay at the 1 level. I have been requested two weeks ago for room 307 or other big room but there give me a 3 level room which is small and with a wardrobe.i have no choice to excpect the level one room.
Very nice room and services.. this hotel very good price for VTL Traveller who ever coming Singapore with lowest budget
Everytime I go dating with gf.. I chose this hotel. Not bad. But still OK for budget hotel. Near Chinatown shopping mall. So far okok la..
Living in singapore is so expensiveThe hotel located in a good place and nearby the chinatown but sound insulation is terrible
Reasonable price for just sleep and shower. All basic needs are there.
I stayed there two time and meet the two different staffs at there, the staffs antitude is very rude. Don't expected the room.
Comfortable bed and pillow. Unfortunately only provide one bottle of drink water
Just 2 minutes away from Myeongdong exit, very convenient.
Very comfortable rooms and super close by to Chinatown and public transportation
When I was lost my handphone charge even I never bring charger the receptionist helped us it's very helpful
Abit difficult to locate. Decent room. $30 for 2 hr
Room clean staff kindGood location 5min walk to food court
The elevator a bit slow to open, overall room is ok.
Perfect location, clean, friendly staff, interior very basic!

Best place to stay, low budget

Very odd location.
Clean and nice room
Location convenience..Good.

Great room
Clean hotel
I love that this hotel is close to the MRT and restaurants. And the rooms are clean. Every day it is cleaned... asking for drinking water etc. it is given free of charge. At first I only wanted to try 1 night... in the end I stayed 8 nights. Mr Ang Montree was very friendly and kind. He was really helpful and his service was very good. I will stay at this cozy 81 hotel next month.
We were on holiday in Thailand and took a two-day trip to Singapore. The hotel we stayed in ruined the whole experience! The room was not only small, it was tiny! From the threshold you lean into the bed, squeeze through a narrow passage into the bathroom, where there is a toilet and a sink a meter away. The shower is creatively positioned on the wall in the middle. If you want to wash while sitting on the toilet, or over the sink, water flows on the floor, if you don’t close the door tightly, then it’s the number, but it’s difficult to close the door - it’s made like an accordion and without a handle, you’ll pinch your fingers when closing it. And the coolest thing is that there are no windows in the room, it’s such a small crypt! The room was all smoky, they asked to change it, they offered it even worse, the smell is not clear what, the rooms have no insulation at all, there is a three-centimeter gap under the door, apparently for ventilation, you can hear people talking on the floor below, what a dream there! They brought us an air ionizer, apparently this is the only way they “ventilate” the rooms, they turned it on for 20 minutes, the smell became a little better, we somehow fell asleep exhausted, and at four in the morning we woke up from lack of air, went again to ask for a “sip of fresh air”, they didn’t give us the ionizer anymore until the morning. During the excursion we were sleepy and tired. We do not recommend this hotel to anyone!
When we arrived we were given our room key, so far so good. Except that when we discovered the room we realized that it had not been cleaned before our arrival! The sheets are completely undone, there is waste in the trash and on the floor.||We will notify the receptionist who gives us the keys to a new room. But now the latter reeks of an unbearable smell of cold tobacco. We were given a new key, same problem... The receptionist ended up spraying the pillows and sheets with toilet spray! ||Finally we were provided with a last room, with clean sheets and no odor, but shower over the toilet...||||In short, hotel to avoid especially as it is not the best located in Chinatown for that price .
Guys, if you can avoid it, who knows if the rooms in the photo exist. Mine was quite large without a window and a 1mx1.5 bathroom, the shower is taken between the sink and toilet without a dish, everything floods. Only the location is good near metro and Chinatown the rest is out
Good accommodation, convenient to travel near MRT.
Near the food center, there are 3 BTS stations nearby.
There is Mr. Montree, an official at the school, who recommends information about Ludi.
Both about eating and walking
We stayed in room 501 which seems to be the best room in the hotel, lucky for us. The price was very good for Singapore and the location was great as it is close to the cruise pier. Otherwise, everything is very simple but clean and the shower works perfectly, as does the air conditioning.
Closest to MRT Maxell, walk 100 meters, easy to go anywhere. The rooms are ok. There was the sound of the train all the time. Mr. Montree (Thai) officers talked amongst themselves and were friendly.
Nice location away from Chinatown's Teubel on a side street with nice restaurants and bars, only 10 minutes to the MRT, very friendly staff, good WiFi, rooms unfortunately very very small, beds hard, shower not really warm water. All in all, for a short stay in a relatively expensive metropolis, it's a cheap option to live centrally and with little comfort
Convenient location, close to the center and low price for Singapore. But the hotel itself is old, the furniture is old, the plumbing is old. The bathroom is small, the shower is right there - and all this on one square meter of space. The mattress is uncomfortable and it's difficult to get a good night's sleep. I don't know whether to recommend it or not. Only for one night and then because of the relatively low price.
We rented this hotel for 4 nights.|Ordered a standard room.|After a flight from Thailand, we were very upset when we entered it.|The room is about 9 sq.m. When ordering, we chose a room with a bathroom, but in the end we were given the only one with a shower in the wall near the sink. On the very first evening, returning home at about 10, we saw Indians and Chinese sleeping on cardboard on the street of “ideal” Singapore... In general, the first impression was sad.||But now, having lived here, we quickly adapted. Walking around the city all day, this is a very good option for where to spend the night. Just to spend the night when you come tired in the evening and go straight to sleep.||So "+":|The location is very good|Cheap food nearby|Room with a window, 3rd floor, quiet at night|Cleaning every day|Friendly staff|No insects, dirt, etc. .||"-":|Tiny room|After returning from the center, the area seems dirty and empty, especially in the evening|Shower, sink, toilet - all in one tiny space||Whether to take such a number or not is up to everyone. But for a budget traveler it will do.|
Very well located, in Chinatown and just 5 minutes from metro stations. The rooms are small and with the necessary equipment, but to enjoy the city it has a very good quality-price ratio.
Had is nice stay, very good value for money. Fairly central, could walk to the center in about 25 minutes. Very helpful and kind staff at the reception, especially Montree was very helpful!
Overall not a bad hotel, close to the Chinatown metro with various restaurants nearby, spacious and clean rooms with towels and water changed every day, | Clean bathroom with tub. | We didn't have breakfast so I don't know how it was. |
Don't believe the pictures! This is the most terrible place I've ever seen! The room stinks, it’s tiny, it’s dirty, you don’t want to touch anything, the air conditioner practically blows in your face, the price is unreasonably high even for Singapore! The only advantage is a good location near the metro
My grandmother stayed here for 2 nights, the place was comfortable, just a bit small, but the staff was very kind, and very helpful to my grandmother... thanks to you
Really not bad for the price. Lots of small restaurants and shops nearby. Perfect for visiting the city. The wifi works well.
