Reviews of Hotel 81 (Premier) Hollywood
You pay for what you get -It’s a budget hotel.
Bed isn’t comfortable, pillows are thin. Our room had an interesting smell of moth balls and cigarette smoke.
AC doesn’t turn down below 20 degrees.
Location isn’t that convenient approx 15-20 mins walk to either MRT station.
Food isn’t as abundant or close to hawker stalls.
You pay for what you get.
The Price is very like all hotels in Singapore.
The rooms are very small for twin sharing. Also they will not provide food .U have to eat outside. No cutlery items will be provided. Its like a Hostel.Drinking water will be given only 1 liter per day.Small Toilet and bath rooms .Not Value for money as Singapore is very expensive and all man made attractions and pure commercialism.
The room is clean. Affordable price. The staff was nice. The location is easy to go anywhere. 3mins to the bus stop.
Enjoyed our stay here. The staff were always helpful and friendly. Cleaned our room daily— replenished the consumables and gave us clean towels.
Location was really good too cause there’s a bus stop at the end of the street that has all of the busses you need come by. Going back to the area is easy too.
MRT is a little far though. Walkable but it’s probably a 10 min walk.
Good to note that you can leave your bags after check out if you still have plans during the rest of the day.
Stayed there for one night. Was oke for the price. A little bit far from the MRT
We are enjoy with our stay especially room cleanliness is super even it's the budget hotel. Staffs are really take care of our special request. Overall I had really good experience in there and I'm sure that I will choose it again in my future stay.
I have stayed for a whole week and I have no complaints at all. The room was clean, the staff very kind and even though it's located in the red light district, I felt safe at all times. For food I would highly recommend Mongkok Dim Sum which is a couple of blocks away.
A good and cheap budget hotel for tourist even it located at the red light district, the room is clean without any smell. The various of food can choose among this area such as mamak, Chinese food. Easy to take bus from here, but a bit far away from MRT station, overall it is good and reasonable for price.
Hotel was clean. Room was quite spacious. Got toiletries, tv connected to internet, vanity, drink, heater, and a small cooler. Rather far from mrt station or bus stop as expected from the price
The room is not big, but it's enough if you just want to sleep.Good water pressure in the shower. There was no toilet in the lobby, so you should go to the toilet before checking out.
The room is overall acceptable and the reception is helpful. Tho the size of the toilet and the room is quite small. Hard to have two people standing at the same time.
Great hotel very clean.
The rooms are quite small but still work. They won’t allow you early check in even if the rooms are vacant and ready because they want to charge you extra sgd10 per hour for early checkin. Water has to be purchased and there is no food available at the hotel whatsoever. Everything else is good. The beds, hygiene, cleanliness all good.
The hotel is situated in not a very subtle locality. There are massage parlour in the are. There is no vulgarity on the streets however you might wanna just steer clear of geylang area if you are on a trip with family.
I was approached but few men when I walked down the road alone asking me if I wanted to have GOOD TIME. No one bothered me or any of my family members when all of us went out or came back.
Great budget hotel at Geylang area. Surrounding full of various foods and ************. Will come back again for my upcoming business trip.
Budget hotel with unpretentious, simple rooms. Some rooms equipped with mini fridge and in-room safe while others are not, so if you require this you can ask for it. Laundromat and soda machine located downstairs. Sound proofing is poor so bring ear plugs. Sundays are busy during the day with migrant workers on "short" stay. Room tip: ask for room at high floor with high uneven number (x11, x13) as those are furthest from the elevators and facing away from the street.
Various buses available nearby this hotel, the MRT is a bit of walk, but it's possible if you like to walk.
The cleanliness is only 2 stars.
The room is comfy, but the bathroom only fits in medium size of man. If you wear American large size shirt, sorry you can't fit in to the bathroom.
The first room we got was a smoking room, the cigarette smell was so strong, so we required to change room. Not vacuum was done on the floor since the first moment we went in to the 2nd room. I had remind the reception downstairs, but seems they didn't care. The towel does not look clean, you can use it to dry your feet in the floor, but don't use it for any parts of body. Some color dots we found on bed sheets, too, as long as not someone else's hair, I would use a new sheet to cover it and let it go.
This location is pretty closed to redlight district, so I suggest adults to stay in only. * The redlight district is pretty safe in Singapore and all under observed by CCTV *
The laundry shop is 10 mins walk away from the hotel. 7/11 is closed by.
The sounds or noise from the hallway is big echo always. You can hear next room's TV when quiet at night, it depends on your list k who's next to you. No sound blocked anyways.
This is budget hotel, so I don't have too much to complaint with such low price, at least the hot water & air conditioning is not a problem at all. Also world cup plays available on TV.
Staff were unhelpful when we came in late after a flight looking for recommendations for places to eat at that time. Apart from that hotel was fine for the 1 night we needed it.
More of a 3.5, but it is suited perfectly for a budget travellers. Extra points for the guys at reception as we arrived at 11 (check in starts at 14), but they saw how tired we were and let us in to check in straight away. Room is small, but with good wifi, big tv and kettle, shower fine, you dont need to spend too much time there. As well really good location, easy to get connection to changi airport and the city center as well. Would recommend for a short stay!
This is a budget hotel. Good for one or two days stay. House keeping staff are friendly. Male receptionist staff are helpful only one old lady at the receiptionist is not friendly and very rude which makes my stay was not welcome.
This hotel is situated in Geylang area of Singapore.
Firstly, there are many Hotel 81 in Singapore so would suggest that before booking do check properly the areas they are situated in.
We didn't have food here so can't comment on the same.
Rooms were decent and fairly spaced. Bathing area was good. Hotel provides water bottles up to 3 numbers, beyond which one has to pay.
It was a fairly good experience w.r.t hotel. One should check about the area before booking.
Also, this hotel is far from little India (6-7km)
Good for a budget stay, compact room - but neat and clean. Awesome adnroid to,internet and aircon. But not worth as the price. Location is along Lorong 8, which is a legal red street in Singapore. So it's a choice for families.
The room was very small more than my expectations! But the room was so clean
Nice and clean hotel nice staff at the counter and very helpful staff will come back to the hotel and stay again.
Surprised by good value. I recommend to book directly on the hotel 81 site because the prices are better then Agoda and no need for advance pmt. At check in ask for rooms with odd numbers, because it has a view to a football field and the 🌞 shines only in the morning hours.
The hotel facility is good staff is friendly but no foods service at the hotel. The place is quite far from Subway and public transport. However the prices is good.
Staff happy to help n resolve issues. Rooms might not be spacious but otherwise cosy.
One of the more decent budget hoteL I've stayed in, aLthough the room was smaLL (but enough for 2 peopLe with big backpacks) and the bathroom was tiny.
(+)My room had a mini fridge and hair dryer. Lots of eating pLaces around.
(-) Lights couLdn't be totaLLy turned off, room wifi was inconsistent, and the waLLs were thin. Quite a waLk from KaLLang MRT station.
Water only given one bottle, smart TVs and wifi laggy. Only bed is good. Small room. Toilet small.
Exterior area is quiet while lot of food available 2 min awayBathtub drain was stuck, no sound proofStill okay with this price
Truely an amazing Place with a nice Window VIEW .....
1st class room with new Furniture no deposit for the room
Weekdays You can get a room for 65 sgd
Most cleanest Place that your could Find at geylang
Personally i reccomend This Place as #1 value for money Free luggage Service available for oneday
Extreamely good
The room is so nice, event expensive, very clean and tidy, good for your vacation, the decorations this hotel is so nice just like the real holywood, that's why I give this excellent
The rooms are very small , their is no room service as they have no kitchen. U have to self carry your luggage, arrange your food and even they do not provide water except the complimentary one.
Fast check in, good housekeeping, toiletries are okay, getting clean towel everyday is nice🫰🏻
Good place. Convenient to travel, have a bus pass, have mong kok dim sum 24 hr. It’s not scary
The hotel is good considered the price and location. There’s a bus that heads to bugis which is convenient.
Although room is compact, it is comfortable, clean and even come with in room safe and mini fridge. Friendly staff with smiling faces a big plus.
Such an excellent room! I swear I fall in love with the hotel. They provided everhthing.
Clean hotel and comfortable. Looks like newly refurbished. Good TV programme.
TV screen was clear but still
a bit high & not enough big.
Quite far distance from MRT
and deep inside lorong 8.
Friendly staff, rooms are clean and nice, bit small. Pretty cheap place to stay at.
It is quite quiet which is good for the gust to rest overnight. Their room services are prompt and efficiency.
Very nice and clean hotel
Very clean with friendly staff and they are very helpful. Safe place to stay.
Very small rooms with no window ( fixed window they have)
Stayed there in 2017 and again in 2019. I enjoyed their service. Will definitely stay again.
Can check in early if room available, clean, good view
One way road, far for walk. Gaylang is not so good. Perfect for smart TV.
Good hotel for short stay... Nothing gr8 around the vicinity but well connected
Very friendly staff... Compact yet comfortable room with all required amenities...
Receptionists are rude and totally unfriendly good thing is that they have quite a number of parking spots available and they are free of charge.
No place to eat close by otherwise the hotel rooms are nice
Room has clear HDT tv but no restaurant...
Just a good place to sleep n go out touring all day
Good location with a lot eating places
Nice and clean room... well guys
Better hotel than the other chain groups.
A little small room and location is ok
Hotel i stay when PNAC 2018 held
Overall very average. The room is relatively small and has no facilities. The bathroom only provides toothbrushes, toothpaste, and shower gel (which are still in broken devices that break when you press them. The sound insulation is very average. You can clearly hear the sound of water in the next room, the opening and closing of the door next door, and the noise in the corridor. .
There are quite a lot of local snacks nearby. If you like to experience, you can choose snacks. There is indeed a special service area nearby, but it will not affect people's travel. The nearby bus station is convenient to Clarke Quay. The room is smaller and the bathroom is tidier. This room The hotel is still a good hotel. I think the security in the urban area is not the best, but it is not terrible either. You can consider it.
The rooms are small, clean, new, well thought out. very cold, air conditioning cannot be turned off, high humidity.
We asked for a second blanket because 2 friends gave us a rag without a duvet cover, on the second night they took it away and gave it a second time. There are unpleasant people working at the compounding, they smile, but they constantly show disrespect by sending you away and not hearing you. They asked to call a taxi (they said the wait was 5 minutes) and wanted to have time to go to the toilet (2 minutes), so the reception refused. As a result, we caught the car ourselves because we waited 20 minutes for a taxi from the hotel, and the man almost shouted at us that we couldn’t leave, and he called a taxi. But we have a plane, it won’t wait.
I don't recommend it
The price is ok, the room is quite comfortable, has a view but looks at the street or looks to another building. Regarding service, they only give 1 bottle of water a day, so if you go with 2 people or more, please ask for more. Here, people use the same shampoo and shower gel. If they run out, they should go straight to the receptionist to ask because they won't understand if they talk over the phone and the person cleaning the room won't notice if this is gone or not. Regarding toothbrushes, they will not leave them in the front room like other hotels. You have to ask and they will give them to you. The receptionist is mainly Singaporean Indians so it may be difficult to hear them when they talk a little.
The location is generally convenient. Two metro stations nearby. One of them is directly to the airport. Bus stop within walking distance - 15 minutes to the center. There are many places to eat nearby.
Dirty. The bathroom was not cleaned at all. The toilet is terrible. The light in the bathroom is dim and you won't notice it right away. Here, after clients, only the bed is changed. And then I doubted it.
Mentality is very important. Don’t expect everything to be too perfect. Singapore is very small, the rooms should be big, the prices should be beautiful, and the environment should be five-star standards. Normally, it is really not expensive within 100 Singapore dollars unless it is a holiday. Slippers and toiletries are the best. It's easy to carry around, and overall it's pretty good.
I was worried because it was in the Geylang area, but it wasn't that much of a concern. However, at night, the surrounding shops become glittering and it looks a little suspicious, but it doesn't feel dangerous. However, if you are returning to the hotel at night, we recommend taking a taxi. In the room, as various people have written, the shower flows into the toilet. |Voices from other rooms can be heard clearly, and activities can also be heard clearly. |The room had been renovated, so it was clean and the wifi worked smoothly. |There was also a refrigerator, which was convenient. |It was a 15 minute walk to the station and a 4 minute walk to the bus stop, so you can go to major places from there, so it was very convenient. |If you call a taxi at the hotel front desk, it will come right away. |Everyone at the front desk is very nice, and I think it's a good value for money hotel. ||
A good hotel both near the airport and close to the center. It's a 15 minute walk to the metro. The rooms are cleaned every day. They are small. With a kettle, a safe, a hairdryer and air conditioning, but there are no small towels, only large ones. And the audibility is very good.
This hotel is out of town on the way to the airport. For those who are tired of the city center, this hotel is very good. Compared to price quality, it is not expensive in Singapore, because it has everything you need, namely internet, a large bed, a television, a bathtub with toilet. I also think we can quickly reach “the beach?!” on foot.
I had reserved and paid for two rooms three months in advance, but when I checked in, I was told that only one room was reserved. |The facility is new and the rooms are clean and spacious for the price. However, in both rooms, the water level in the shower room is barely able to drain, but if you don't turn off the hot water frequently, the water level on the floor will rise little by little. The washroom was clogged. |The only amenities are body soap/shampoo and a toothbrush. |For body soap/shampoo, it's very stressful to hit the built-in dispenser 30 times and only get half of the required amount at once or not. |Wifi was displayed on the top right of the screen when I was using the TV remote control. |It was hard to understand because there was no explanation, but it was fast. |The bed was just the right hardness and comfortable. |However, the level of soundproofing is quite low and you can hear all the voices in the hallway. You can hear the water running directly above and next door, and at night you can hear the sounds of activity several rooms away. ||The nearest convenience store is a 7-Eleven, a 5-6 minute walk. I feel a little uneasy walking in the dark at night. |Also, I noticed that there were multiple people lying on the ground or sitting in front of the vending machines in the parking lot of the hotel all day and night.
