Reviews of RedDoorz Hostel
Five stones hostel is a great place for backpacking. Check-in is at 3pm but they will let you stay inside their area until its time. Free breakfast offers a great selection of jams and other basic breakfast meals. There's also unlimited coffee, milo and water. Great staff! Would definitely recommend to everyone.
Great, friendly and helpful staff that speak fluent English. Complimentary breakfast of cerial or toast served til 11am daily. Clean and tidy rooms and bathrooms. New matresses and beading. Has free laundry facilities and lockers for every bed in dorms. I stayed in all girls dorm room of 8 ppl. Everyone was tidy and respectful in my room. There is only 2 showers on my floor so u had to wait sometimes but nobody semed to b in the showers more than 5 minutes or so, so not long wait time. I think everyone there is very respectful of one another and their belongings. Eg. A lost and found is kept in the bathroom for items u may have left in the shower etc. There is also magnetic locks on room and to building. Singapore in general is very safe but the magnetic key is extra comfort to ur safety and belongings.
Location wise it is close to resturants, train line, and not far from attractions. 15min walk to esplanade. Only downside, somebody set off the alarms a few times at night by accident. Probably one of the best hostels i have stayed at in my many years of travelling solo. I recommend this hostel :)
This hostel located in strategic area, you may ride a bus (no. 100) and stop directly in front of this hostel. Service from staffs are great, they are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is proper within price you pay for room. You get 3 kinds of cereals, bread with Nutella, marmelade jam, strawberry jam, and peanut jam, also comes with fresh milk, tea, cofee, and milo. Breakfast start from 7.30 to 10.30 a.m.For tea, coffee, and eater, it's free all the time.
Public facilities: in lobby rhey provide TV with netflix, and some DVDs. Also there's a book shelf, full of books. Sofa is cozy. There are 2 computers with internet. You ca also buy soft drinks and cup noodle, as well as ice cream, in the lobby. Prepare your own towel, otherwise you need to pay 5 SGD to RENT towels. In the 5th floor there's 2 washing machines and 2 dryers. Also there's a rooftop. You can wash for free, from 8 am to 7 pm. Bedroom is cozy and clean. They also provide lift, it's a good news for tourists who travel with luggage. You cannot put your big luggage to your locker in the room, but you can put it below your bed. Small luggage (cabin size) can fit inside locker.
My biggest problem is the restrooms. Within 3 nights of my stay, toilet are always dirty (female section, both in 2 and 4th floor). 4th floor is the worst, always smell like a pee, all showers cannot be hung, and hairdryer is broken as well. In 2nd floor there are many garbages. There's no difference if you come to restroom during morning or evening or night it's always dirty and smell very bad. Looks like they never clean the toilet. Also, in front of evedy floor, you need to put off your shoes, but the draw is small. So many people just open it and leave it outside. That makes it smells sock. They need to improve this part.
Good location, staff was very helpful, comfortable beds and relatively good price! Only minus was the mixed dorms didn't have mixed bathrooms on that floor, so we needed to go to a different floor for the bathroom. Slightly unhandy. But otherwise we were very happy!
I stayed at this hostel with a group of 28 and we were divided over several rooms of 6 to 8 people. The hostel was nice and the breakfast was okay with toast and butter, jam, peanut butter and Nutella and also milk with cereals. Personally I would have liked some cheese or ham with it, but it sufficed. On the plus side, there was free instant coffee and thee. The biggest downside of this hostel was the showers and toilets, because they were most of the time very dirty and always wet. There was one shower door that didn't lock and I spotted multiple ants in the showers. However this hostel was close (10 min walk) to a metro station and therefore close to the center of Singapore. I am not sure if I would stay at this hostel again.
Clean, choice of mixed or separate dorms, free tea, coffee and water. Also self service laundry and a nice location near the buigy metro station. Around a 7min. walk. Netflix available and wifi. However wifi is very unstable and you have to pay a deposit AND 3$ for a towel. Beds are okay and there is AC in the room with big lockers. It also has an elevator and a "rooftop lounge" which isnt that exciting. However the common room in the lobby is nice.
A very good hostel, clean and well equipped. The lobby is spacious and comfortable, and equipped with a Wii console! Free laundry, with possibility to buy washing powder, power plugs adapters, and their signature game :-)
It is a backpacker hostel, located on Beach Road, next to Mesjid Sultan. A very good location, the bus stop is right in front of the hostel and it just 10 minutes walk from Bugis MRT station. There are a lot of hallal restaurant around since it is an Arabic area. The room is quite comfortable, good service from the staffs and breakfast is included. A very reccomended property.
The staff was very friendly and there were things to entertain you such as a Wii and bord games.
The beds were not so comfortable and there was noise of people shouting at night.
The breakfast was very limited. You had to choose between toast with peanut butter, jelly or Nutella. Or milk with cornflakes.
The neighborhood was nice! You could eat for cheap just around the corner.
Very clean hostel in a great location. Staff are very helpful. Excellent food and bars just around the corner and not too far from an MRT station. Would recommend.
It's impeccably fantastic. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The place is very well maintained and 5 mins walk from Nicoll Highway MRT and 10 mins walk from Bugis MRT. It's located in a very nice, serene and equally happening place. Go for it.
It is a comfortable hostel to stay that where the room is clean and warm; also the front desk is really friendly. But, there is some noise at night as it is from the road next to it.
A very cosy and friendly place to stay. Staff are ever helpful, happy to put up with my many questions. Location is perfect and the place is clean and safe. I will be back to stay.
We arrived at the hostel where the lovely staff welcomed us and led us up to the room.|The beds were good and clean.|The hostel location was excellent close to the center.|The breakfast was reasonable.|
Staff was friendly, room was OK for the price. My main complaint would be the bathroom. Could use more regular cleans.
Clean and tidy, food is not a problem at all( Arab street and lots of places with different options. 7-10mins walk from Bugis mrt.
Really great place to stay at travel to singapore
Easy access to public transportation
Easy access to find halal food...because behind hostel is full of halal food
Rooms very clean and comfortable, not as social as some hostels I've used in Singapore
Great hotel just spending 3days in there.. all good.. good place.. good service... good breakfast.. can't wait to visit there again..
Very clean and very kind people. Good breakfast and the TV in the main room had netflix...
A strategic place, clean and secure area, affordable price, friendly also helpfull front office, a fully recommended one!
It is just average.- I've been in three in Vietnam and they were much better.
Love the hostel and the room is clean. The price is equal with the service
Love it here! Cool staff, clean hostel, interesting people stopping by and a great location!

One of the best hostels I've been to! ||There were two of us in a room for 10, but all the beds were never occupied. So there were usually 5-7 people in the room. ||It is very clean and you have enough space for your things as each bed has its own spinach. |Our room had very good air from the air conditioning, so you were always looking forward to your room and bed after a long day in humid Singapore.||The washing machine and dryer are free, you can get them at reception for about 3 $ Buy washing powder. |The breakfast is sufficient and the staff is very nice. |The showers and toilets are ok.||The only problem: my expectations of hostels are now too high ;) ||I would recommend the hostel to every backpacker and book there again! |
Five stone hostel is very strategic. Located on the side of the main road (Beach Road) and in front of it is the OPP Plaza Park Royal bus stop, making transportation easier. The rooms are comfortable, clean as is the bathroom. The lobby and dining room are in the same building and the rooms are separate in the building next door. Access to the room is provided with a card key for each guest and there is an elevator. Breakfast includes cereal, bread, milk, tea and coffee. Upon check-in, a deposit of 20 SGD was requested but it was refunded upon check-out. It was rainy season in Singapore and I was allowed to borrow his umbrella. Prices are comparable to the facilities. Recommended.
The hostel is located in the city center. Walking distance to main attractions. There is a bus stop nearby (bus 100 goes to the Universal Studios Amusement Park), 5 minutes by Metro (from/to the airport). The only remark is that it is a little dirty: the windows are not washed, there is dust. But according to the price-quality criterion it is very worthy.
What a superbly welcoming place. Staff who display bright smiles and are actively involved in making your stay pleasant. The facilities are absolutely impeccable and offer an intelligently organized environment while offering you pleasant comfort at a truly pleasant cost. A great place to exchange and converse with the many passing backpackers who are also eager to share their experiences in a relaxed atmosphere but so different from the hushed silence of large hotels. A few years ago, I really enjoyed my first youth hostel experience in Singapore, but this new discovery will undoubtedly encourage me to come back and stay in this amazing city. Thank you!
I stayed two nights in this Hostel. The latter is ideally located on the Beach Road, a few hundred meters from Little India. The Beach Road provides quick access to the historic center, the business district and also the Marina Bay. Very impressive. The dormitories are clean, the bathrooms too and the breakfast offered is quite correct. Considering the cost of accommodation in Singapore, this Hostel is ideal for anyone passing through the city for a short visit!
Overall it's pretty good.
The location is very good, the price is cheap, the breakfast is good, and the bathroom facilities are quite clean for a youth hostel. However, the sound insulation is not very good, and some equipment is broken and has not been repaired. What makes me most dissatisfied is that there is an additional 5% fee for credit card payments. No prior notification.
We traveled to Singapore with friends during January 2016 and stayed 2 nights at Five Stones Hostel. The truth is that we had a super pleasant stay. The hostel is very comfortable, clean and the staff is quite pleasant. The rooms are a bit small, but they are still comfortable for that reason.||The location is good, since there are a couple of streets with bars and restaurants to enjoy but it is necessary to walk quite a bit to reach other attractions. ||It is one of the cheapest hostels in Singapore. And the price-quality ratio is excellent.
Slept two nights in a room with a double bunk bed. Very expensive but apparently not for Singapore. The room is very small and has no window. That's why we call it our "bunker". It is always stale. We share three bathrooms and three toilets with 20 to 30 other ladies. It is all very clean. You can also sit downstairs. The WiFi works very well. It is very centrally located. You can watch movies on the DVD. Breakfast (toast) is included and you can have coffee and tea all day long.
I really like it here. The location is in the Bugis area, near Arab Street, where there is halal food. Near the Sultan mosque too. There are special rooms for women. Check-in at 3pm, check-out at 12pm. When entering you are asked to pay a deposit of 20 dollars per person. By the way, my 20 dollar deposit was forfeited because I returned the key late (at 1pm), even though I had checked out with a friend *sad. Because the deposit is the price of staying overnight. For facilities, on the 1st floor is the receptionist, at the reception they sell drinks and snacks, rent towels and can print (pay). For facilities on the 1st floor there are computers, WiFi, several sofas, cable TV, Wii, dining table, dispenser, refrigerator, sink, toilet (mixed). Free water and coffee every day. For a clean mattress, comfortable blanket, tall locker, my suitcase came in, in the 2nd floor toilet (for women only) there are 2 showers, full shampoo, hairdryer, tissue, in front of the bathroom there is also a large mirror for grooming. Overall the hostel is okay. Free laundry if you have your own detergent. For
I spent three nights at Five Stones Hostel. ||The best thing about the hostel is clearly its central location. The MRT station "Bugis" is 10 minutes walk away. From there you can quickly reach the sights (Marina Bay Sands, etc.). ||The Malay district of Kampong Glan is just around the corner. A little tip: At 5 a.m. the muezzin blares his morning prayer very loudly, so oropaxes are appropriate. ||There are a lot of bars and pubs in Kampong Glang (especially in Haji Lane). You can have a drink there (in Singapore, which isn't very party-friendly). ||||But that’s it for the advantages. The rooms and common areas are very clean, but there are only shared toilets, which are also separated by gender. For us this meant: My wife had to use the toilet on the 4th floor (we were on the 5th) because there was a men's toilet on the 5th floor. ||The rooms had no windows and were very small, which was very oppressive. ||||The roof terrace is a bad joke. Basically it's an uncovered room with two rickety plastic chairs. At least you have a great view of the mosque. ||||The common area was quite large and nice with a book and TV corner. The breakfast was (I wasn't surprised) very sparse, just toast, jam and instant coffee. ||||What I missed most was the typical “hostel feeling”. Each of the guests was on their own, no contacts or interesting conversations were made at all. ||||I found the “no shoes” policy extremely annoying. What's the point of that?? You take your shoes off at the elevator and put them with what feels like 100 other pairs. The smell there is intense. Then you enter the floor and go to your room. ||I found walking barefoot very disgusting (danger of athlete's foot!!).
The toilets/showers for men and women are on different floors. Double room without windows and with a creaking bunk bed. In the morning the condensation collected on the floor and everything smelled very musty. The bathrooms are actually always under water and you have to go to the toilet barefoot as shoes are not allowed. |The location is great, about 7 minutes walk from the Bugis MRT station. There are nice restaurants and cafes around the corner. |The price/performance ratio of the accommodation in a double room is not right.|I wouldn't want to stay there again.
The location is very close to Haji Lane and Arab Street, the Sultan Mosque behind the hostel as well as the Kampoeng Glam Cafe which is always busy with visitors every day providing Asian food. Bugis junction and MRT station 10 minutes walk. The staff is friendly and available 24 hours a day, breakfast of wheat and white bread as well as cereal, coffee, tea and milk is available all day, drinking water dispensers are provided at all times. The mattress is quite soft and comfortable, free earplugs for those who are disturbed by the activities of other guests. Bathrooms specifically for girls are on the 2nd and 4th floors.
I only stayed there one night because there were no more places afterwards. Normally, the hotel enjoys a good reputation for its style, the kindness and availability of receptionists, clean and functional rooms and bathrooms. A very good breakfast in a beautiful living room. The location is ideal. Excellent performance!
The room is clean, but the mattress is quite noisy. The bathroom needs to be maintained again. Breakfast facilities every morning, but water, coffee and tea can be enjoyed at any time. There is also a washing machine for backpackers who are staying for a long time
I don't know what went wrong. The 4-person female dormitory booked turned into a 6-person mixed dormitory. Please learn from my lesson and watch carefully. The location of the hotel is very good. It is 6 or 7 minutes away from Clarke Quay MRT station. It is also very close to the cafe on the pier, 6 or 7 minutes away, and the Merlion is ten minutes away. The girl at the front desk is also very helpful. She answers all questions and will give visitors a tourist map. There is a free breakfast, which is very simple (generally the staple food is only bread slices) but can fill you up. Free coffee all day. The bathroom and shower room are cleaned every day. Disadvantages: There may be a bar next door to the hotel. It can’t be quiet until 1 or 2 o’clock in the middle of the night. The room I stayed in faced the street and was very noisy. If there are no beds in the female dormitory, it is best not to live in the mixed dormitory. Once you meet a man who snores, I guarantee you Had a nightmare one night.
Rooms are comfortable and clean. If you get a room near the window, you can see Beach Rd. Friendly staff. The shower room is a bit small. There is fast wifi. Each room is provided with Netflix and YouTube services. But Netflix was problematic when I went there, and could only be accessed in the shared room.
Many places to eat (Middle Eastern/Arabic/Malay menu). There is a bus station right in front of the hotel. The MRT is quite far. The hotel is clean. If booking is not tight, bunk beds containing 10 can be under 200 thousand/bed. Get breakfast (cereal, white bread with various choices of jam). Free mineral water 24h/day, free tea, coffee (instant, make your own). WiFi is fast.
The price is cheap, it's very clean, and the location is great, so you can walk to most places. The staff are also very friendly. There is a washing machine, but there are only one or two, so I have to do it early in the morning.
First of all, accommodation in Singapore is expensive. ||For this reason, designer hostels have recently become popular in Singapore, where you can stay at reasonable prices. ||||I thought it would be for backpackers, but||The backpacker accommodation I had imagined was dirty, inconvenient, but cheap. ||||Aside from being cheap, everything here is clean, well-organized, and convenient for transportation! It was. ||||Although it is located on the north side of Chinatown, || you can walk to Chinatown, and || you can walk to Merlion and MBS. It was really very convenient. ||||However, an 8-person mixed room costs about 2,500 yen. ||There seemed to be single rooms available, but they were full when I made my reservation, so I don't know how much they cost.
The hostel is very clean and organized! Colorful, air conditioning and comfortable beds! The neighborhood is really cool and not far from the subway station. I stayed alone for 3 days and really enjoyed it. It has a washing machine and clotheslines to dry clothes.
Maybe compared to other hostels, this hostel is quite good because it is recommended a lot. Quite comfortable (depending on who the roommate is). The bathroom is quite clean, but because the bed is a bunk bed, if you get to the top, you won't be able to move flexibly because you're afraid the bottom will be disturbed by the slightest movement, the sound of the bed.
I stayed 4 nights in a 6-person female room. First of all, the location is very good, the rooms are clean, and the cleanliness of the shower room, toilet, living room, and dining room is good. In particular, it was nice that the room locker provided a personal key as standard, and the bed had no inconvenience in terms of cushioning. It was nice that they provided another small cushion in addition to the pillow. Breakfast was also good, with three basic types of cereal, bread, and drinks (coffee, etc.) provided. The staff were friendly, but their English is a bit fast, so people who don't speak English well may not find it easy to communicate. || One thing I'm a little dissatisfied with is that the common space is small (this is the same as all other hostels in Singapore). ) If several people were sitting, there was no place to sit, and the 2nd and 3rd floors were used as a hostel, but people using the 3rd floor had to go to the common space on the 2nd floor through the external stairs (like an emergency staircase), so it was difficult to get there. Even if you want to meet an employee, you have to go to the second floor. Of course, there was a table and chairs for two in the narrow hallway on the 3rd floor, but it was difficult to make friends or talk since you were right in front of the room.
This hostel is very good, I loved the rooms, they are very well equipped and the bathrooms too, they even have sandals for guests to use. Good value for money and above average breakfast. The location is also very good, I recommend it to everyone who passes through the wonderful city of Singapore!
Clean and nice
The hostel is very well located close to the main attractions of the city. The staff is very friendly and helps you with everything. The shared rooms are comfortable, but the bathrooms are not the best in my opinion. The common room is very lively, and in addition to breakfast throughout the day you can drink coffee or tea. I recommend it.
The pictures on the internet are exactly what the hostel looks like. But there were points of criticism. There are women's showers on floors 2 and 4 and toilets for men on floors 3 and 5. Unfortunately there were only 4 showers per floor, which is not enough given the number of guests. There was always a shower available, but it was all too narrow, no space to store your clothes or undress or undress in the shower. The toilets were also too narrow, but that wasn't as annoying as the showers. There was clearly not enough cleaning for the number of people and showers and toilets. This only happened once in the afternoon. Showers and toilets were always dirty in the morning and evening. Given the number of guests, this would have to happen at least twice a day. Breakfast was OK. Toast with butter, Nutella, jam or peanut butter. Coffee or tea. Perfectly sufficient for the price. Unfortunately our check in was a bit chaotic. The lady at the reception was very hectic, didn't take any time and simply didn't explain a lot of things. She assigned me a wrong bed. We were very tired after the long flight, so we quickly lay down. The bed was unused, no sign that anyone else was supposed to be sleeping there. At night a Chinese woman came in and woke me up and said I was lying in his bed. It led to a discussion with reception and I had to change the bed in the morning. It was annoying because we were really tired and were woken up twice. There were other guests arriving at night, so I didn't have the opportunity to move to another bed and we were both upstairs. It was inconvenient to quickly change clothes or spread out your luggage. Especially since the bed rails were loose. The climb was unsafe because you couldn't hold on properly.
This is a hostel in Bugis. The location was easy to find along the main road, and the subway station was close to Nicol Highway Station. |The common space behind the front desk was large, and it was convenient to be able to use the washer and dryer for free. However, the floor where the guest room was located was not very clean. Shoes were not allowed, but there was water dripping from the pipes on the ceiling of the hallway, and hair was scattered all over the place, so I didn't feel like walking barefoot. It is better to bring a bean bag. |I stayed in a twin room, but there was no cleaning and they didn't change the towels, so I didn't think it would be a good idea to stay for a long time.
Stayed in a shared room for 6 women. Inside the bedroom was clean. There are lockers with keys for storing things. The air conditioning is cool, but you can hear the sound of cars driving by. The bathrooms are clean and people clean them often. Breakfast has a lot of things to eat. The room is reasonably soundproof. It's quite a long walk from the MRT, but there's a bus stop opposite the accommodation.
