🎄 Took a <30min post-‘hike’ bus ride from Macritchie Treetop Walk to this unique ice cream cafe with lots of character for dessert on Christmas Eve ✨ ~ 🍫 Brownie Ice Cream Waffle w Double Scoops ($17) 🧇 The brownie waffle was +$2 more than the classic waffle. Tasted like choco cake that was crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside~ 🍨 Chose Santa’s Nut (White Chocolate Almond; +$1 for premium flavour) & Blackforest Ice Cream — two X’mas specials for the ice cream. 🤍 Appreciated how the white choco wasn’t saccharine-sweet and was a pretty rare flavour, even more so as a vegan one. Paired well with the chopped almond bits, which gave it an additional textural dimension~ 🍒🪵 The blackforest had interesting swirls of chewy chocolate and mixed berry cake / cookie dough in the ice cream, and would be even better if the choco was darker. ~ 🧀🥧 Cheese Tarts (min. 4 for $12) V v crispy & flaky tarts with tasty melted vegan cheese lava encased inside. Great as a snack platter for group sharing! :) ~ Shoutout to the very helpful & friendly staff 🫶😊 🚇 ~10min walk from Ang Mo Kio MRT (NSL) 🔖 No additional GST & SC

Had it own unique design cafe. Great for all ages. A very nice cozy place for family, friends, chilling, gathering or dating. We love the ice cream and the brownie waffles. Choices of ice cream are great, couple of selection. Their soy nuggets is a must to try too. Their foodies are vegan! 素食者有口福！ It also a place that good for Instagramable shoot. While the service staff and service recovery are great, the menu has both savoury and sweets, the waffle & icecream is meh... we are served waffles that kept breaking into pieces and the waffles splitting top & bottom. The ice cream flavours (maybe cos no milk) taste weird. The whole place is spruced up looking like a funky place with cute captions, little photo cards, etc but iz dirty... the soft toys put on the chairs are dirty, the walls are dirty, the toilet is dirty .... maybe iz because we are there at 9-ish pm and it has been a day worth of accumulation but wellz...

Super yummy waffles & ice cream! Had the resentment (90% dark chocolate) ice cream & the salted carameow ice cream with the plain waffle. Loved it! The salted caramel is sweet which is balanced out by the 90% dark chocolate. Staff said it may taste bitter but if you like a not-to-sweet dessert it’s a good pick to pair with another sweet flavour 😋. Waffle was fragrant and crunchy on the outside but fluffy on the inside. Definitely will come back :-) Also it was fun to read the little notes people leave behind about their heartbreak. Situated in a quieter neighbourhood but only 5-10 min walk from amk mrt

Enjoyed the cute and yummy waffle ice-cream 🧇🍦 & choco lava cake 🍫😋 Heartbreak Melts is a quirky cafe with a theme on heartbreaks. 💔😂 Beyond its wacky appearance of bright neon lights, bizarre plushies and hilarious memes 😸, the food served is really decent! 👍🏻 Their ice-cream is made in-house with no dairy and no eggs, making it 100% vegan and friendly to the lactose-intolerant too. Despite this, it tastes as good as regular ice-cream! 🍨 The lava cake comes with a generous amount of chocolate filling - very satisfying to chocolate lovers. 🤎 Definitely a cafe worth checking out in AMK! 💖

A very well hidden gem in Ang Mo Kio. Finally got the chance to pay a visit on a weekend afternoon and it's not crowded. Got the chance to sample the ice cream flavours, well have to say when ice cream has no milk no eggs it may not be as tasty and rich as typical ones but this place serves pretty decent ones. Tried a few flavours was in a dilemma at what to choose but picked the most signature one which is the corny cornflakes. I realized that for 1 waffle 1 scoop is pretty sufficient because they are really generous with their scoop. I could finish the whole waffle with a little left. Not to mention the highlight was the waffles, totally the kind of waffles I like. If you like those soft warm waffles with a crispy bite, this is definitely the place to try. One of the better waffles I have tasted. Prices are very reasonable too! Recommended and do drop by.

Happened to came here cos outside was raining. This place has a good range of ice cream. Waffles has a quite unique taste to it. There's student price for one waffle + 1 scoop of ice cream only for up to 21 years old. What about uni students. :( 2 scoops of ice cream + waffles is about $14. They do accept Grabpay & they have sell some beers and ciders here too. Will recommend!

The ice cream and waffle is quite nice. The seats are abit cramp if crowded. Chairs are back to back. Nice music and cosy aircon. I like the heartbreak themes and stories.. but was a lil surprised with the food prices .. $24 for oyster mushroom can be considered quite pricey.

The owners are very friendly and chill, their chocolate….is SO GOOD But they clearly got some heartbreak depression issues, just look at the bears 🐻 Really unique ice cream flavours and nice crispy waffles, didn’t expect vegan to taste so good and similar to normal ones. I love the soy bean curd ice cream flavour, so creamy and wonderful Opens everyday till late, really great for hanging out with friends after church! Really great dessert place

One of my favourite vegan cafes and hangout spots. Love the humble neighbourhood location, comforting themed decor and music, laid-back ambience, and friendly approachable staff. ❤️ As for their menu, their mac and cheese easily stands out as my favourite - see the Updates section for my picture and review. Their ice cream (love their salted caramel, tauhuey gula melaka, and raspberry ripple flavours) pairs well with their crispy and fluffy waffles or their soft drinks, and they serve an affordable yet delicious tiramisu as well. 😋

Vey uniquely themed cafe! :) I always love coming here for the homely atmosphere and delicious ice cream! The shop has lots of plush sofas and soft toys! I love their itty bits of heartbreak-themed quotes and signs. Especially love the pikachu holding up a pride flag and the bondage bear above the cashier!! The dim lighting lets you relax while eating ice cream and flipping through other people's scribbles about their love lives. They keep extensive scribbles of customers on their books and walls for you to flip and forget about your own troubles :) And OMG the toilet right... has all kinds of pads and it was so clean and homely :) Their menu has been revamped and it's so extensive! Different ice cream combinations with waffles, drinks, alcohol, and even small snacks! I just wish they had alcoholic ice cream flavours. Their cookie monster and kopi peng flavour are both supremely rich and sticky! It surprises me how tasty it is honestly as a plant-based frozen snack. The staff are so courteous! They let you try all the flavours and offer freeflow matcha powder, chocolate sauce, etc. to top up your dessert.

I must explain why this is 3 stars...The vegan ice cream was good and did meet expectations. It's so also a very chill place with cool deco. However when I went at the timing between 5 to 6pm...there was a few group of students who came in shortly after I seat down and placed my order. They were so noisy and I had a teenage standing behind me for no reason despite I remind him nicely not to do so. They came to drink and eat Maggie Mee and ice cream but mainly for the free WiFi for gaming. There is nothing wrong with that. For me is just a poor experience in such a nice cafe especially when I frequent different creamery weekly.

We visited the cafe recently to check out their vegan ice cream! They have many unique flavours such as Tauhuay Gula Melaka! But we went for the safer options - Resentment (dark chocolate), Apple of my Pie, and 3P Peach and Pear. Perhaps the ice cream was vegan, so it tasted more like a sorbet rather than creamy. Aside, the ambience and decorations here are very point, and fit the heart break theme perfectly. For the affordable prices, the young me would have love this quaint little cafe.

Really friendly and responsive owner who gives generous portions. He was also very honest and highlighted how certain flavors would taste like, and is very open to feedback. Waffles were crispy on the outside but soft on the inside, which we really enjoyed! Even though we stayed past closing time, the owner also did not chase us or pressure us to eat faster. A very chill cafe with amusing decor, definitely worth a visit, especially for late night ice cream cravings!

The business owner has a great sense of humour, and it shows in the decor of the shop. The ice cream is even better than the humour though. Strongly recommend the coconut and the strawberry flavour; get the waffle if you like them crispy.

Very yummy dairy-free ice cream - one of the best I’ve had! The staff also allowed sampling which was very useful and the decor is very entertaining. $5 for a scoop of the cornflake ice cream did feel more pricey than other HDB cafes but I suppose it’s the cost of it being dairy-free?

Cozy cafe with wonderful plant-based ice cream. The interior of the place is tastefully retro, decorated with sarcastic hipster quotes reeking of unrequited love, heartbreak and resignation. You can also hear Taiwanese love songs over the PA. Not my kinda thing but ice cream is on a whole other level. We ordered a Matcha Soy ice cream and Resentment, which is listed as 90% cocoa + oatmilk ice cream. The nice lady definitely gave us more than a scoop's worth of ice cream for each flavour, making us very happy. The Matcha flavour was surprisingly salty with a hint of jasmine. It reminded me more of Taiwanese jasmine green tea than real Japanese matcha but I guess some floral notes are necessary to mask the beany profile of soy, which could be off-putting to some. Despite some iciness, it was quite pleasant and no dreaded aftertaste of beany soy was detected, which was good. Would not reorder though, as I have always preferred my green tea without jasmine as it reminds me of cheap mooncakes. Resentment was the highlight of our day. The cocoa flavour was so smooth and low on acidity and bitterness, and the texture was creamy without any ice crystals at all. I would describe the sweetness level to be equivalent to the 20% of most bubble tea chains. I felt like I could eat a whole pint of this. I know light and rich don't really go together but there's how they do their ice creams here. Everything is big on flavour but low on the syrupy-sweet-cloyingness of BnJ's or BR's. Would be back to try out more flavours. Please do not change the sweetness levels of all the ice creams here ever. 2nd visit: Ordered a strawberry ice cream and found it annoyingly sweet. The peanut butter one had an oily mouth feel that makes it feel more than real peanut butter than a scoop of ice cream but I'm not complaining because it is filling as heck. As good as a meal replacer. Mixed the two together and it wasn't so sweet anymore. Now I am scared of trying all their fruit flavours as I have a really low tolerance for sweetness.

Pretty interesting concept. Ice cream was normal. Vibe was quite homey, but table wasn’t wiped properly and was a little bit sticky. Recommended to check out if you’re in the area.

Food was very good and we thoroughly enjoyed it! I was very impressed by the quality of their ice-cream given that they're a vegan place. Brownie waffle was unique and I highly recommend the Earl Grey and Cookie Monsted ice-creams to go along with your waffle! Atmosphere wise, seating was a little cramped due to their small space but they do have nice deco and humorous memes!

Lava cake with 1 scoop of ice cream costs 14$. I think it’s quite expensive. The ice cream taste simple, nothing special. The staff at the counter and the staff who came to serve the plate of dessert did not mention about self service. She came to serve the plate of dessert without cutlery and walked off. Left me thinking am I supposed to use hands to eat or? I can figure of myself of where to find cutlery but if only they could communicate, it would be nicer. So with the price, the staff and the taste, I don’t think it’s worth going back there again.

Firstly this place only serves vegan ice cream. Their ice cream taste weird, it’s not bad neither is it good. It’s just WEIRD to me. Waffles also so-so, don’t have “crispy on outside, fluffy on inside”. Quite disappointed, cos I was expecting better with the 4.6 ⭐️ review on google. The only thing I enjoyed perhaps was the free flow maple syrup & chocolate sauce and water.

Happy to find this place which sells vegan ice cream for my son who is allergic to milk and eggs. Tried the chocolate and strawberry ice cream. Both flavours are good and the waffle also tasty. My son was super happy and already asking us when to go back again. Oh not to mention the male staff who served us was friendly too 👍

Visited: Night of 06/28/2023 Ordered: Waffle, 2 scoops. Cornflake and Chocolate. Waffle texture okay, taste a bit weird because vegan, but acceptable. Chocolate flavour icecream is good, not too sweet. Cornflake flavour icecream is okay, a bit oily. Service is friendly and allow to sample as many ice cream as you want. Overall, will recommend to vegan friends.

Gelato portion size was the biggest among all the other ice cream cafes that I’ve been to. I really appreciate the fact that all the flavours have a standard pricing of $4 per scoop. Customer service was superb! Cashier (Miki) was patient and friendly when describing all the different flavours, also allowed us to taste test before ordering. Overall, a great and pleasant experience! Would definitely bring more of my friends over to taste their vegan gelato! 10/10!

Heartbreak theme vegan cafe in the neighborhood with cute and cozy interiors. HILARIOUS decorations like the teddy bear tied on ceiling. Can imagine myself chilling hours away with friends or just do work here. Menu has both savory vegan food like pasta, noodles, bites and vegan desserts like plain/brownie waffles, smoothie, icecream, drinks etc. Love the self service station that has so many things like matcha/cinnamon/chocolate powder, maple syrup, ketchup/chilli, chocolate drizzle etc. Love the unique and tasty icecream flavors as well!

Chill vibes and amazing portions. So far this place has one of the best cookies and cream ice creams i've tried, will come back for more! The portions are also really nice and big. Resentment chocolate really lives up to its name. Would actually like some potato snacks (eg fries/tater tots) to munch along with the ice creams, since some ice cream (eg Cornflakes) just didnt have any crunch.
