Reviews of Confucius Institute, Nanyang Technological University (CI-NTU)
Today marks the last day of class (+exam) of Hànyǔ Shuǐpíng Kǎoshì DCB Level 2 course at Confucius Institute NTU, Singapore (南洋理工大学孔子学院)!
Learning a new language is no easy feat yet definitely rewarding. It’s definitely a journey that requires constant dedication and patience, but the classes at Confucius Institure NTU helped a lot to challenge ourselves on the spot through weekly readings and exercises both in speaking and writing. Plus, exploring the Chinese culture through its language seemed incredibly interesting.
In this globalized world, being multilingual is a huge asset. It has helped me connect with people and understand their culture more. Excited to apply my learnings in my day-to-day personal and professional life!
非常感谢老师和同学们让我度过了一次难忘的学习经历!
Confucius institute offers a very well structured mandarin course in daily Chinese. It has improved my speech, reading and writing a lot. Cost of the course is also very reasonable, also meet a lot of friends.
My sons joined Confucius Institute TCEP since K1 and have practically grown up together with the school. The TCEP Chinese teachers have been dedicated not only in supporting them academically in their Chinese learning journey but also patiently nurturing their interest in the Chinese culture especially during the Young Confucius Cultural Camp held at the end of each year. Special mention especially to teacher Mr Ang who has been motivational to my son, helping him to attain AL2 for Chinese and Merit for HCL.
Great and engaging experience! I really enjoy the class with Zhang laoshi, she is very energetic and shared with the class more information regarding the culture and the language. Looking forward to starting the new course in July👌.
Let me share my experience at NTU Confucius Institute. Am glad that I registered with them for Daily Chinese - HSK. Thus far, all went smoothly without any delay in starting the class. Have completed 1st semester (10 lessons per semester) and now into the 2nd semester. The teacher (lǎoshī) is very professional and she makes learning Chinese very enjoyable. Am blessed to have an inspiring, patient and passionate teacher. She has a caring compassionate heart for weaker students and does lots of encouragement. My encounter in this institute has been pleasant and most of all…to be under the wing of an experienced and excellent teacher. Hope others will be encouraged to register at NTU Confucius Institute.
Just to add on… I registered with another Institute (“well-known” too) for basic Chinese before NTU Confucius Institute. At the “well-known” institute, I turned up on the 1st day of lesson to be told that the class could not start because of insufficient students. No one contacted me to inform the postponement. It took them 2.5 months to give me the refund. Also, that “well-known” institute do require payment upon registration BEFORE class start. I think it is a common practice for most institutes to request for payment so that the institutes know how many secured students they have in hand. I supposed sometimes it is due to bad timing and unfortunate circumstances that we students may face. However, it was a blessing in disguise for me as I landed up benefiting much learning with confidence in NTU Confucius Institute and every week, I look forward to attend the lesson.

It’s good to share our individual experiences and encounters of the situation. However, it’s unpleasant to slander and accuse other Reviewers with words like “fake review” as there is always 2-side of a coin in life. I still stood my ground of what I have written as fact though I do empathize with those (except Sea Shine), who had unfortunate encounter just as I had with another Institute. Peace be with you.
The course was very informative and has helped me in my work.
The course is conducted in an organised manner , and the learning outcomes are very practical and essential to daily conversation
Good co-operative learning environment and support from Jiemin and most of all
