Reviews of Adam Road 三哥 Prawn Noodle
Prawn noodle dry had very good flavour, 2.5 prawns for $7, plus 2 ribs (one big, one small). Nice prawn soup, only downside was ribs slightly dry, which is the usual case at most prawn noodle soup.
I had medium portion of prawn and pigtail noodles for $15. Came with 2 fleshy and super fresh prawns. Pigtail was very soft and dropped cleanly off the bone.
They use coarse chilli powder instead of the more common fine chilli powder that i am more used to.
They had really big clams on display. I am tempted to try the prawn with clams noodles ($10, $15) the next time.
I wish they use proper spoons and chopsticks rather than disposable ones.
Tasty and robust broth. Prawn is fresh and plump. The boss uncle takes pride in his food. He used to run the famous Adam Road Noo Cheng Prawn Noodle with his brothers. Agreed that the stall assistant can be a little attitude at times but I wasn't too bothered. Just enjoy the goodness of the food.
This has been my personal favourite since he operated the night shifts at Adam Road.
I appreciate the off-menu items that are periodically available. But what keeps me coming back is the robust broth together with the full sized prawns.
Tip 1: skip the small prawns. At this store, go for the large prawns, and the soup will burst alive with flavour.
Tip 2: the dry version has a lot of oomph from the oil and chilli concoction. This would be my pick. The soup version on the other hand could feel slightly oily, as they add the same oil to the already strong soup.
There are more noodle options here and you should have better luck with getting a good portion of soup.
This stall originates from Adam Food Centre but has since moved to Newton Food Centre recently.
Soup: Is much more flavourful (够味) than before and texture(汤底)is similar to ramen soup. So its slightly thicker and more umami. 😋
Prawn: Much fresher (新鲜) and chewy (口感) than b4 as the fridge is new. 👍
Price: Very reasonable.
Will definitely return for more.
The soup and the noodles of this prawn mee shop is legit good! Very flavourful and appetising. The owner of the shop is really friendly. Will definitely be back here again to have a meal. ☺️
At Newton hawker center facing carpark. Super awesome soup and also has dry noodle. My order is bee hoon and its is special type of bee hoon that is very nice. Will definitely visit again
The soup was good. Not as prawny as other places, but was ok. Ordered spare ribs, but they gave me pork belly instead. Just eat lor. Overall not bad.
Today after work , I chanced upon this stall , good standards of prawn noodles

Damn good. Highlight when I'm at newton - Uncles are all very friendly. Generous with the prawns and the soup just bangs!!!
The soup is robust with umami. The prawn and pork belly are juicy.
