Reviews of Blu Jaz, Bali Lane
A fun night of jazz performances on 3rd floor. I was lucky to be entertained by 3 bands that night, although usually it's 2. Seats are limited so go early to grab better seats. Food wise, nothing great. I ate lagnasa and was bored eating the same thing over and over till it finishes. 5 stars for the jazz and 3 stars for food.
I recently discovered a charming little BlueJazz café on Bali Lane in Singapore. The night I visited, the Nobu Shiraishi Trio was performing. The original compositions of Nobu Shiraishi-san , Jazz standards, and Japnese folk songs were brilliantly played on the double bass by himself. Midori Shiraishi-san's unique vocals, paired with the blistering piano performance of Aya Sekine-san, made the evening truly special.
Went for a jazz night and really enjoyed it. Great music, affordable drinks (a bottle of Prosecco was $60), and good pizza ($9 - $13 per slice, slices are rectangular and very big). Staff was friendly and there was a really good atmosphere, more intimate and very different from the first floor (club) and ground floor (bar and restaurant).
When you think of Bali/Haji Lane and link it to dining you will most often than not think of happy times.
Blu Jaz is located on the Bali Lane and offers good food and drinks. However, this was once such experience wherein the waiter that served us was extremely rude in his behaviour towards us. That one interaction spoiled the mood of most of the guest on the table.
This place normally should deserve a 5 star but that interaction with the waiter has pulled down the review by a star.
We had good time here otherwise.
Food wise its a good place.
You can get Masala Peanuts here which was super tasty.
Do try their Paneer Tikka and Fish & Chips (for the non-veg folks).
Had the set lunch meal (one main, one drink, one soup of the day and a small little cake). I ordered the sirloin steak set which costs about $12. It was worth it for the price paid. Not sure if they offer the same for weekends. Nonetheless, nice and cheap western food to try if you are around the area! Friendly, fast and efficient staff too.
Great multi-floor cafe. Open air on the first and second with an air-conditioned room on the second floor. Open and airy seating downstairs.
I attended one of the pop-up cinemas here and was impressed. We ordered a variety of food and drink and all exceeded expectations. Certainly worth checking out their events.
Food quality was kinda ((okay)). They really catered to the people who drink tbh.
Unfortunately had to keep asking for the status for one of the food orders multiple times. Iirc the table next to us also had a similar issue.
Staff seems busy serving the different tables and friendly when asked for directions to the washroom.
Overall it’s a decent establishment but wouldn’t recommend if you’re not really a drinker.
Amazing amtosphere, espcially when the sun sets. The food surpised me how good it was. Didn't expect too much of it but the lasagna was gorgeous! I highly recommend this place.
thank you mami iza for being friendly and great service 🥰 will recommend everyone to come here for a great time. thank you
Lovely pit stop at Kampong Glam. Had their juices which were so delicious and refreshing. They were freshly squeezed at $8++. We got here at 5pm and didn’t have trouble getting a table.
Family nan is good
Food was quiet nice and overall nice hipster vibe
Had a bit of a wait to get our table for 4. They helped us in few mins ( abt 15 mins on a sat )
It was rainy and the attendants were trying their best to help us. But one can feel the short staff / delayed service. Took them a while to get our food n drinks. Reasonably priced for drinks and meals ( 120$ for 4 / bucket beer and mocktails / couple of main course items )
Recommend on a non-sat .. where it must be relatively manageable. Didn’t get a chance to hear the music but much as it was on another side of the room ( indoor)
Come here if you like life jazz music and chill with your friends. There are 3 levels. Level 2 has DJ and dancing and the loft has life music.
Aiyo... Cheap har wor da alcohol here n nice spot too.. Can gap dou alot lenglui yixia 🤩🤩🤩
Good selection of spirits, vibes outside are great, must visit for the open jazz nights upstairs (its free too)
One of my fave places to go either for drinking or dinner or both. I love the ambience, the creativity of its surroundings and music. Not so fan of their service, either slow or doesn’t have welcoming staff. They offer varieties of food and quality wise, good one. Presentation wise, good as well. Portion of both drinks and food - acceptable. Price - good as well. So overall happy to recommend and must visit not only this restaurant but also the area itself as this considered tourist spot in Singapore.
The place is special..very cozy and animated.. service is average but food is really good.. musaka is e excellent and naan bread delicious...
Very good food, quite cheap to dine out at this bar in Singapore. I sit outside a bit hot. Happy hour drinks apple cider $14 for two, good deal too!
That’s pork ribs 👍🏻
What is better that a draft Guinness Stout? Lots of staff but seems less attentive towards indoor guest, nevertheless good place to chill.
Good food, great service, nice ambience. Very busy/crowded - reflection of the food quality.
Nice place for dining with colored painted walls around
Food is indian and western, correct
Can have music live 👍
On St Patrick’s Day, was crowded but great place to hang out, music 🎶 🍺 🍹 👍
Cool. Good food, service and a cultural icon
Very cool and attractive place with stunning wall art, which makes the place different.
Although this place appears to be primarily a bar, the food here is excellent! We had their vegetable pasta, garlic naan and dal kandhari. While the pasta was good, the Indian food here was excellent. Will definitely return again for the naan and to try other Indian food items on the menu.
They have Indian menu which is not bad quality and taste. We went on Tuesday night. Two things I had to highlight for them to improvise are fix their aircon, it's so warm and makes me uncomfortable sweating while having dinner. Another thing was their live band was quite loud, they are good but it is too loud that we cant talk much.
Pretty cool place to go out. Nice music and great atmosphere. Might be quite overcrowded what causes long waiting time for service. Food and rinks selection is satisfying and pretty wide
Great place to eat, drink and chill. Make sure to make your reservation specially during friday and saturday nights.
First dinner in Singapore! Our meal was tasty and the vibe was really great too. I'm all for al fresco dining - we had pita bread with dips, satay skewers (we were still quite full from lunch earlier) and pretty sure I had a mango juice. I'd certainly go back here if I was in Singapore again. Good price point and service was good too.
Great experience on a Saturday night. Live music. Good food.

One of the best hangout spots to have a casual drink.
Our dining experience was truly enhanced by the exceptional service provided by Prakash. His attentiveness, friendly demeanor, and knowledge of the menu made us feel incredibly well taken care of throughout our meal. He went above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction, offering recommendations and ensuring our glasses were always filled. The seamless and efficient service added immensely to the overall enjoyment of our evening. We greatly appreciate his professionalism and would happily recommend Prakash to others for a delightful dining experience.
Recently enjoyed the open mic nite here (aka Talk Kok) on a Wednesday evening. Great host. A nice mixture of novice performers and seasoned veterans. The room is warm an engaging. There is a great energy in that room, and the tone is definitely established by the emcee/host, who brought up the energy and delivered his own tight set of material between comics. As cringeworthy as some sets might be, the audience is forgiving and accommodating
For $10, it is tremendous value for the time you spent at this 2hr show
Nice food with friendly service staff.
Favourite place to take friends for a catch up in Singapore! Casual but cool and great vibe and tasty drinks. Food options are great and upstairs are open on certain nights if you’re keen for a dance!
Blu Jazz have been here for sooo oolong yet still attracts a big crowd almost every night. Their open mic nights are very popular, food is decent, as are the drinks. But there might be challenges finding a table to sit at!
very crowded but a lovely place on a Friday night. Too bad I didn't go for the live jazz music. I was told it is really awesome. Maybe will do that the next time I am there. Food wise, it's ok but the ambience is really nice....
The club was hopping and the Jazz was amazing! Will absolutely visit again the next time I’m in Singapore!
Gorgeous Jazz. Elan Meher. wow
Food was nice. Atmosphere was quiet, but again, we were early for late lunch. We just wanted to try the huge naan bread
enjoy chilling out here . sipping and appreciating on red wine while enjoying jazz live band playing . Simply awesome ! will be back !🍷😊
This place has happy hour until 8.30 PM you can buy 2 beers for 15$ and 2 wine glasses for 20$. It has nice vibe and service guys are quite nice too. I had their fish and chips and it was like 15$ for the price it was good.
Awesome place. Great staff and not too badly priced
Awesome live performances! Service needs to improve though. Prices for food and drinks are reasonable.
The vibe was chill and the lighting was simply amazing. Drinks were affordably priced though not very strong.
The Indian menu was a pleasant surprise! Great tasting food - ate the vegetarian briyani, chicken tikka, butter chicken. They also had a live band playing, great ambience!
Live music and the club upstairs is a great night out - just like the good old days in Singapore
Wonderful place! Amazing jazz music, great cocktails (especially Pisco sour with real pisco, and Spiced Mojito), food also top (kitchen was working even at 10.30 pm). Live music on Tuesday finished at 11.20😍 Special hi to the sheltie dog of one of the musicians (piano-player) ☺️ will come back
Nice place to have a chill. You can buy beer till 1am
Really nice and feels home with their music especially the live performances
Staffs also friendly
Must visit again
The place is nice and discreet but the waitress is rude and was extremely angry because I (very slowly) bumped into her. Cocktails are OK but expensive.
One of the best tasting Indian food restaurant I've come across in Singapore till now. The ambience of this place is peppy and outdoorsy. Happy hours till 7:30pm so you might want to start early. The staff is professional and hospitable. Would definitely visit again.
Just one recommdation: The common washroom is not very nicely maintained and that was a small turn off for me.
Haven't been through it all. I just wanted to have a few drinks. As I described it as a wholly, the bars and restos in here are within one place, side by side. Easy bar hopping. Likely full and crowded during weekends
I ordered some food from this restaurant.
The package for good and the mushroom soup was awesome.
Will order more for upcoming event .thank you Mr Black, he helped me with the ordering as well.
Amazing chillout experience. Recommended for a nice time with friends and family.
Great food and atmosphere. Happy hour 3 to 8pm. Very reasonable prices and extensive menu. Only downside for us was the smoking. Staff were very polite and friendly.
Fish & Chips standard inconsistent.

Nice place to chill with alfresco and air condition seating. Quaint environment amidst wall murals done by local artists. Good choice of beverages and finger food.
Located in such a unique area close to Arab street. Serving dishes like chimichangas, arabic style dishes, satay, cheesecake and ice cream to name a few. Lots of ample seating and live jazz music.
The food is delicious, the atmosphere is good, and the price is OK
I happened to pass by after eating shrimp noodles and came in to have a beer. It was so delicious. Come to happy hour and get a draft beer for 500 won and a snack for 10 won for about 12 won? I ate sambal shrimp and aglio olio, and they were all delicious.. I was impressed. On the last day of the trip, I had a beer in a good mood.
Entered the store around 9:30pm - I happened to be seated right in front of the stage and enjoyed two sessions.
135 SGD for 4 people with 2 glasses of beer or cocktails per person
Nice cafe/restaurant with great live music in the evening.
If you want a table here at a late hour, you should definitely reserve in advance.
It can be quite loud inside when the band starts, so you should ask for a table outside where you can see inside.
I had a relaxing lunch in a stylish space.
The staff was also very nice,
The lunch set included soup and dessert as a main dish for 10SGD, so it was a good value.
